This motherboard is from a ASUS ROG Strix GL12CX, and will not go into bios. After a plethora of upgrades eventually came the bard and cpu and this one was in a box for a few months. (Was working brefore hand with no issues what so ever). During those months I acquired more parts and eventually had enough to make another pc using the gl12cx board and case, albeit with a new (tested on 3 other computers and original psu) power supply. Once it was assembled and cleaned up, I plugged it in and nothing, no display, no bios. The monitor would even be woken up by the gpu just to say no signal. The pc would turn on, rgb, fans, and the gpu light turns blue so everything looks alright. I've tried CLRTC, cmos battery (even a new one and another from a different pc), reseated ALL COMPONENTS several times and tested each stick of ram individually even with the corsair vengeance I was running on it before (so I BEG yall not to say to reseat things). USB appears to be working as my kbm lights up and the USB I use to install windows is warm like usual. I tried unplugging all USB devices with no luck. I even unplugged all sata cables with the empty ssd I had in it to the same result. I would try to flash a new bios but asus being the proprietary loving goobers they are, there is no physical ezflash like there is in the actual bios. I'm really stuck here and just bought three ssd's for this sucker and I don't understand how it can just stop working. (And I know for a fact static never killed it, I was grounded during my builds and the bad had the new boards anti static bag. Hello. I have graphic card XFX RX 580 GTS XXX Edition 8GB. I want to open it and clean but I don't know which thickness for thermal pads I need. Some YouTube channels told that 1mm would be good. For chip I want to use MX-4 thermal paste, I think that's good enoguh, but for thermal pads I don't know. I hope you can help me. Thanks in advance. best regards, acmilan2

Hi. I'm noticing they are always on, even on idle. It won't let you set them bellow 20% in the wattman, and it won't work if you try to set them to zero using Afterburner. I've already tried that "save your config, then edit the .xml and change false to true" thing with no luck, and yes, i did load it twice. Is it there a secret way i'm missing or something? So I am currently helping out a friend pick out a graphics card and would like to hear some of your guys' thoughts. He plans on using a ryzen 5 1600 with 16gb of ram. He just does not know which gpu to buy because the gtx 1060 6gb is a bit cheaper yet the rx 580 does offer more vram.

So i am on a budget and i am thinking of buying one of these two graphics cards. While the RX 580 stands at 350€ and the GTX 1070 at 480€, RX 580 is obviously 130€ cheaper but also has lesser performance compared to the GTX 1070. I am asking if the difference between these two cards is actually Worth an Extra 130€. (I believe that this is irrelevant but both cards are Asus STRIX because of the Aura RGB) RX 580: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B071CP4MPX/ref=s9u_simh_gw_i10?ie=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B071CP4MPX&pd_rd_r=f0ba2267-c3b0-11e7-bda9-4b799b7f517d&pd_rd_w=A5vfy&pd_rd_wg=EdSat&pf_rd_m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=Y0MJ41162AJX41RK82FQ&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=a604e9f7-44cb-43ba-9116-40fbc776b12b&pf_rd_i=desktop GTX 1070: https://www.amazon.de/GeForce-GTX1070-8G-Grafikkarte-Speicher-DisplayPort/dp/B01HMDRY7E/ref=sr_1_6?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1510055545&sr=1-6&keywords=gtx+1070 The PC I am planning of putting it into (not yet built): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HkxfNN (The 1070TI is just a placeholder)

http://www.hisdigital.com/id/product2-943.shtml Chinese review of that same card http://yujihw.com/review/his-rx-580-iceq-x²-turbo-8gb-review So this exists... and I don't know jack squat about Hightech Information Systems (HIS) as much as the next guy. I was cruising around facebook marketplace, searched under rx 580 8gb on a whim. I saw MSI, Sapphire, Gigabyte, the usual stuff. Then, I came across a 580, whose brand is unknown to me. And I looked around to find that exact model for same price of around $125, which was waaaay below other used rx 580s. What do you guys think in terms of: Design/Aesthetics? Cooling Performance? Noise Performance? Overall Performance? Longetivity? And efficiency? And others that I forgot to mention.

I recently put together this system with a Ryzen 3 2200G and an RX 580 8GB, this is not the first computer I've built, but I can not figure out why in certain titles I am getting extremely bad frame skips/drops in titles this system should easily be able to run. What exactly is happening: The games I have run into this problem are Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch and Tom Clancy's: The Division 2. In CS:GO my framerate is hovering around 80FPS and dips only a little bit to 60, but I feel like this framerate is really low for a game that is not very demanding like Counter Strike. In Division 2, I get frame skips down to 20-25 down from 50-60, which again is rather low for an RX 580. Overwatch is the most severe where I am usually starting anywhere from 120-160FPS and it tanks to 30-60,causing extremely bad frame skips whenever someone uses an ability or gets close to my character. My previous system I was using daily was a laptop with an i7 8700HQ and a GTX 1050Ti, maybe more powerful in the CPU department, but much less powerful graphics wise, and all other titles I would play on this system run better on my new computer, but the ones that I mentioned do not at all. Another good example is Apex Legends which uses the same engine as CS:GO (I think) runs at even higher FPS than CS:GO which is absurd in my opinion. What I have already tried/attempted: All drivers are up to date, I have flashed the BIOS twice, no abnormal thermals or clock speeds are happening (GPU is always 60C or lower and CPU is around the same, 65C max with the stock cooler). My ram is 16GB of Corsair Vengeance at 2400MHZ which I overclocked to 3000MHZ and still get the same results either way. All of these titles are using the RX 580 as the graphics driver (I am new to AMD's software and have had trouble navigating it to make changes though, if any at all). I have turned on and off AMD "Chill FPS" multiple times, uninstalled and installed Re Live to see if that was an issue and I have attempted to go back to a previous driver version, but I can't find where to get any previous drivers from and since I never had previous drivers installed, they aren't already on my system to use. I read somewhere MSI Afterburner can cause conflicts with AMD's GPU settings, which I did have installed, but even uninstalling that along with any other, benchamarking, monitoring or overclocking tools haven't changed anything. I am at a loss on what to do at this point. Full system specs: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G 3.8GHZ Quad Core AMD XFX RX 580 8GB ASUS B350 Prime Plus Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2400MHZ OC to 3000MHZ Crucial P1 1TB 3D NAND NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD EVGA 750BQ PSU EDIT: Changing graphics settings in game doesn't affect FPS in virtually every single title, also odd, and an indicator of a CPU bottleneck, but I have seen other benchmarks with the same system specs and they do not have this problem. EDIT 2: I am running in high performance mode, no capture software running from either Windows, AMD or other 3rd party software. I have tried clean driver installs on everything. EDIT 3: Reseating hardware didn't change anything, only fix was to fresh install Windows 10. Will post cause of issue here if I find what was causing it in the future. FIX: I replaced the thermal compound on my GPU, this improved temperatures, but the windows re install had originally fixed these problems in the first place for me, so there is no correlation in my case, however I did see articles stating poor thermal compound application could be a cause to issues like this, it just wasn't mine. The compound the GPU came with was not good quality (which is normal), but it's probably because it is designed for longevity, not performance. Regardless the stock application looked fine on mine, people who reported bad application had thermal compound on the PCB of their GPU. Not related but replacing the compound also got rid of some coil wine when my fans were at full speed, probably from better reassembly. I started having this problem again after attempting to Overclock my GPU. I had done this before, but was resetting my GPU overclock when I started having problems, these problems also were not immediate, but didn't take long to occur the second time (20 minutesish). I did not think this was the problem before because I had reset my GPU to it's normal settings both times. From what I have read online about people having similar issues, the solution is to reset the GPU to factory settings in AMD Wattman and Game Settings (Global, or specific games if you had tweaked with them), re install drivers, and restart your computer. This solution worked for me the second time around (I did not attempt this in that order before) and I haven't had issues since. For some reason attempting any overclock will cause your GPU to become unstable in certain situations (bad framedrops/framerates even when everything appears to be running fine). In synthetic benchmarks and certain titles for me everything ran great, even in GPU heavy games like GTA V and Apex Legends, but other titles would not be playable like the ones I mentioned. I even had my GPU crash when playing Overwatch once despite having a stable overclock in MSI Kombostor for 30 minutes straight earlier that day, I assumed this just meant the overclock was unstable, but I'm seeing now this is an issue with AMD on their current drivers. This happens using 3rd party software or AMD Wattman regardless, but I would recommend staying away from 3rd party software. AMD knows about this problem now, and hopefully will fix it in a future driver update, but as far as I can tell only myself and a few others have had this problem, and it's isolated only to people who are overclocking which makes the sample size for fixing this smaller. For now, that is how you fix this. Hopefully I saved someone a lot of headaches.

I bought an Radeon RX 580 and installed it on my computer, i installed teh latest driver from AMD official page and when i start Fur Mark or any medium intense GPU game, like Dark Souls with DS Fix ultra config the computer shuts down, i was reading on other forums that might be a drivers compatibilty issue but i cant find the original driver that it came with, my build is an i7 2600 and the psu is an generic 600W, but i have a double PSU config for having an entire PSU only for the graphics card

I've been having issues with my XFX Rx 580 8 GB GTS card. I've already RMA'd it and it seems to be the card cause I can take a Sapphire Rx 580 from another system and not have the issue. I was thinking of gettng a RX 5700 non-XT but I'm not sure if I should get the MSI Gaming or one of PowerColor's. They go best with the build I already have if you go by color aesthetics. Any suggestion why to go with one over another

Just installed an 8gb RX 580 to replace my 1050 ti, and it's been crashing every game I run about 5 minutes in, usually straight to desktop, but it's also crashed my whole system twice. My browser crashes occasionally as well. I've DDU'd about a dozen times across a dozen different driver versions, I know the PSU can push out enough power to make it run, I've tried under and overclocking it, and I've already tried a fresh Windows install. To be sure, I stuck my 1050 ti back in and my system is running fine again. So, should I fill out this RMA, or am I missing something?

Hello! I am wanted to build a a PC for under 900$. I would like it to have at least a GTX 1060 6gb or a RX 580 8gb, preferably the GTX 1060. I want the system to be able to run games like GTA 5 at 60fps+, Fortnite at 100(ish) fps, and any game at 60fps+ (all in 1080p). Hey guys, i wanted to upgrade my gaming pc a bit. I got a WQHD Display with AMD freesync for x-mes. I would like to get the Radeon Rx 580 8Gb. But my current system is a bit old. That's my system: i7 2600k (not overclocked) Geforce GTX 760 MSI 14 Gb DDR3 RAM 2x 4Gb 2x 3Gb 860 evo 1 TB 6Gb/s 2 Tb Hard... Mainboard : Peagatron 2ab6 700 W Be Quiet Ass you can see my mainboard is way out of time. It even bottlenecks my SSD. So I see two options here. Getting a new mainboard with an LGA1155 for the i7-2600k and the Rx 580 8Gb or building a hole new pc with new CPU, RAM, Mainboad, GPU. Remember that I will Game on the WQHD Display so I think the CPU wont bottleneck the GPU ass much as on HD. If you don't think that this would work well, I would go for: Ryzen 5 2600x MSI B450M Gaming Plus G.Skill 16Gb DDR4-3000 Radeon Rx 580 8Gb Maybe if I overclock the i7-2600k it will work? That's for you help guys.

Hello All, I've got a strange issue. Since I changed my R9 380 to XFX RX 580 8gb I'm getting random crashes (always resulting in diagonal stripes over the entire display) that last a minute and two and then all comes back to normal. The "strange" part is that it only happens in old/not demanding games. I have the latest AMD driver, did a clean windows installation after changing the card (because I also changed my system drive). My PC: Ryzen 1600 (cooled by SilentiumPC Spartan 3 PRO HE1024), no OC 16 gb ram (2x GOODRAM 8GB 2666MHz Play Black CL16) XFX RX 580 8GB (driver 18.8.1 now), no OC PSU: Chieftec CTG-650C A80 85+ 650W Drives: Crucial BX 100 250gb, Crucial MX 100 256gb, some random Micron ssd, also ~250gb), some old Seagate HDD 256 gb (for media only) Board: MSI B350M GAMING PRO Samsung 1080p IPS monitor Details: I can play all day games like Monster Hunter World, Forza Horizon 3, AC: Origins, Prey with no issues, but my PC is crashing at not demanding games like League of Legends, Banner Saga 1-3, some visual novels, Town of Salem. As I mentioned, the crash results in having diagonal stripes all over my screen for a minute or two. I also can't do anything then, system is frozen. But there is no error, no bluescreen. The crash is quite random - sometimes happens few times per day, sometimes only once a week, at other times few times per hour - still, only when I'm plaing not demanding games. Seems like there is something wrong in games with more 2D elements? Just a wild quess, I have no idea. There are obviously no overheating issues. Anyone? Anything?

The RX 580 8gb https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131720&ignorebbr=1 Comes with the promo code: 522MDSD22 ( Saves $30) Which means it's at $269.99 But a special promotion gives $20 MIR for the GPU too. Which means it's at $249.99 This is one heck of a deal. It might not be as powerful as a GTX 1060 6gb and only slightly more powerful than a Gtx 1060 3gb. You're still getting it pretty cheap with 8 GB of Vram.

G'day! I've just built my first computer on a AMD based system with the following parts; - Ryzen 5 1600 (using stock cooler and no overclocking) - ASUS ROG Strix B350-F Gaming Motherboard - Team T-Force Delta RGB 2400MHz 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 (defaulted to 2133MHz in the BIOS, I've successfully booted in 2400MHz by changing it manually and also booted in 2133MHz in AUTO mode) - ASUS ROG STIX rx580 8GB OC Edition - Samsung 960 EVO 250GB SSD - TP-Link Archer T9E Wireless Adapter - Corsair RM650x PSU - Phanteks P400s TGE - Windows 10 (64 Bit) I have run into some problems when coming into windows, the first time it booted fine and went through the process of setting up windows and got to the desktop, and i first installed the driver for the wireless adapter to get internet and then installed some of the Radeon settings and AMD software driver updaters. I did also look install the drivers from the ASUS website. I have installed every driver expect for the GPU and as i installed that the computer crashed and got the windows blue screen. I restarted again and uninstalled the GPU drivers (thinking the GPU was the problem) and then re-installed them. I did get to finish installing but a few minutes later the computer crashed again. I tried resting windows, booting with one ram stick, lowering memory MHz from 2400MHz to 2133Mhz and then booting, and wiping the SSD for a fresh install of windows but every time i did something like installing or downloading updates for drivers or even simple things like Steam and Chrome, the computer would crash. I never saw an error message on the previous crashes but on my current fresh install I got the "CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT" error message. Even doing things like extracting the chipset driver files from ASUS caused messages like; not enough memory (not a blue screen but an error message) and during that extraction the computer would freeze for a very long time and go to the error screen. As a first time builder this really has me worried and I'm sure i have installed everything correctly. I checked the CPU for any bent pins and I found none, the CPU is seated properly the power cables are in properly, the GPU is seated properly, and all the power and reset switches are installed correctly. Now i'm just getting the CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT error. Right now the CPU temps in the ASUS UEFI BIOS Utility are around 50C, the motherboard temps are 37C and the GPU temps are 35C and ASUS EZ System Tuning is default has been untouched at normal mode. TLDR: My computer freezes now when I try to install something on windows and i get the CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT error message. Is this fixable? or have I done something wrong?

Is Pairing an RX 580 8GB with an i7 8700k & a 144hz freesync monitor a weird setup? I know i7's are better suited for 1080 or 1080 ti but the i7 8700k is only 100 more bucks then the i5 8600k so i might as well dish out the extra hundred. Would this be a good setup?

Hey! So today while I've been playing PCBS 2, my GPU has been hitting high temperatures on this game. Its so GPU hungry I think an RX 580 8GB won't do the trick with this game. It pulls 144 - 150 Watts which isn't the norm. Also for 8GB of VRAM I can't get my head around it using 7/8 of it. Do I need to get a new gpu or is this just PCBS 2 being its casual self. Tbf it's a new game it's 2022 going into 2023 am I expecting too much?
