I've been dealing with high GPU temperatures while gaming and wanted to reach out for some advice. Here are my full specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: RX 5700 XT (Mech OC) RAM: Corsair 16GB, 3200MHz Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M Gaming Edition PSU: Gigabyte P550U My RX 5700 XT is reaching around 76-80°C core temp and 102°C hotspot temp during AAA titles like RDR 2, Cyberpunk, and Far Cry 6. Any thoughts or suggestions to manage this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello guys, recently I've purchased a what I thought that was a mined card. And by mistake I flashed the wrong bios. Instead of choosing the Performance Bios which is the Right one, I've flashed the Trixx Bios which is on the Left. Before doing this I looked up on Reddit about which one of the three Bios switches is the Performance one. And almost everyone said that the left one is the Performance. But on the Sapphire site they have a photo which shows the Bios configuration. Can anyone please give me the Trixx Bios? Thank you very much!

Hello everyone, I own my GPU for a while now, but I have not played many games... until now. Recently I wanted to give GTA V a try and downloaded it from the Epic Games store (got it for free). I was able to play the game with no issues for a while, but at some point there always appeared those weird crashes. My monitor turned green (or black), my mouse and keyboard stopped working and my PC decided to reboot on it's own. The first thing I did was doing research on my problem on Google, found a thread on the AMD forum discussing exactly my problem. Here is the solution I tried: https://community.amd.com/t5/drivers-software/rx-5700xt-green-screen-crashes/m-p/142074/highlight/true#M34674 It changed basically nothing, I wiped out all AMD Drivers and installed the recommended driver but everything stayed the same and my problem continued. I didn't want to give up, so I decided to try a few other methods. I activated the "AMD Ryzen High Performance Mode" in the Windows settings, again this changed absolutely nothing. I tried to wipe out all existing AMD drivers from my PC again and install the newest drivers recommended by AMD. Again, this changed absolutely nothing. The last thing I did was updating my BIOS from Version F40 to F62a... And yup you guessed it, nothing has changed. I don't know what else to try at this point, I thought the new AMD drivers would fix those problems but they didn't work for me. Many people on the thread from the AMD Forum fixed their problem by following the steps, but it didn't work for me. Do you guys have any other tips? I'd be super grateful. Here are my specs: GPU: 8GB Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT GAMING OC 8G CPU: AMD Ryzen 3600 Mainboard: Aorus B450 Elite (https://www.gigabyte.com/de/Motherboard/B450-AORUS-ELITE-rev-1x/support#support-dl-driver) PSU: 600W be quit! I've been experiencing this a lot and I think it is time that I ask for some help. So what happened recently is I turned on my computer and its on desktop but didn't do anything with it for a minute because I was using my phone and suddenly screen went BLACK with a sound of 'Device Disconnect' from windows 10. The sound is exactly like this: So after the first sound, there was a second of silence with a black monitor in front of me and then I heard the opposite of this sound which is the Reconnect Sound. The one you hear when you plug in a usb drive. The monitor lit up afterward. I checked the driver software and found out that some features were gone. The update checker and relive is the one I could remember, but this already happens whenever the driver does this kind of 'crash'. I checked the Performance Metrics and saw that my customized fan tune was reset to default. Again, this happens whenever the driver sort of crashes. Event viewer only shows cpumetricsoverlay crash but this already happens whenever I turn on my PC or whenever the driver turns on or resets itself. The cpumetricsoverlay crashing in event viewer was already a bug in these drivers. This problem happens in drivers: 21.9.1, 21.10.1, and 21.10.2 any help guys? This has been troubling me for quite a time now and to be honest, this is the cause of my anxiety. I am aware that my pc is showing signs of tear but I would like for it to work until I graduate from school and find a work to repair my PC or even buy a new one.

if the video isn't working, try this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1G5D9S-fBTxCVR5WDPjr6NQ9ObsqFC_-H/view?usp=sharing ^^ an image that shows the radeon light is turned on ^^ (I took this photo while using my computer) So I just noticed this problem recently when I turned off my monitor and took a bath and returned to my PC and saw that the RADEON red lights are turned OFF. It also turns ON for like 3-5 seconds and turns OFF again at a random interval. Now, the light turns back on when I move the mouse and continue using the PC and does not happen when I am using the PC.I am assuming that my pc isn't on sleep mode based on this video because I can still hear my music playing. I can reproduce the problem by not using my computer and leaving it in idle for like 30 minutes. Hello guys, I just recently build my first PC and I'm encountering problems with it. So the issue is sometimes when I open my PC it will reach login to windows then the screen will be blank (there's no display) the after a minute or two it will open again and once I enter my credentials then there's a notification popup describing 'Radeon Wattman setting has been restored due unexpected system failure'. There's no issue when I'm gaming or browsing just during startup. I don't know if it has something to do with this but after I successfully installed windows I tried to install AMD Radeon driver then I updated my display driver. after that I cant open the AMD Radeon software then its says that the version of display driver is not compatible so I tried to revert it (display driver from device manager) and uninstall and reinstall the Radeon driver. Hope this problem wont brick my pc Here is my PC specs: MSI B450 Tomahawk Ryzen 5 3600 Sapphire RX 5700 XT Pulse BE G.Skill Ripjaws 8x2 3200 250gb SSD Corsair 550w cv550

Hi everyone, I know there's been a lot of discussion about this topic, but no matter what I try with this card I can't get around 120 -130 fps performance in Warzone. It's weird because in multiplayer it does run super smoothly it's just with warzone that I get around 90-110 ish fps on just a little bit over 1080p resolution with low-to medium settings. Other games run good like Valhala, GTA, Cyberpunk etc, it seems that the issue is with Warzone. I assume I'd get more fps out of this card for this game particularly. A bit frustrating as it's the main game i play. Now, I can do with around 100FPS at 1080p medium, i just feel it does not meet the benchmarks out there and I'm not using my card's full potential on that game. Here are the stuff I've tried: - enabling / disabling game mode in windows - playing with in game graphics - messing around with the adv_options file in the documents (videomemoryscale is at 0.75 and rendererworker count 12, since i'm running a 12 cores) I had a bit of stuttering with the default at 0.85 now it seems its better but not much effect on fps) - updating AMD drivers and AMD software - optimizing windows (power etc) CPU and GPU usage seem normal with around 40% ish and 90-95% respectively. My config is as follow and is brand new: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X Gigabyte X570 GAMING X 32 Go Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200 MHz (2 x 16 Go) RX 5700 XT 8GB THICC II ultra 1 To SSD Samsung 870 QVO CORSAIR 650 W TXm SERIES In help/advice would be much appreciated. Thank you very much

Hello , Its my first post on the community. I lately installed a custom water loop (soft tube) on my system. CPU : Ryzen 7 3700 X GPU : Gigabyte RX 5700 XT Gaming OC M/B : Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite RAM : 2 x 8GB DDR4 Patriot 3733Mhz (@XMP 3733 - 16/19/19/38/56 ) PSU : Corsair TX 850-M HARD DISKS : Samsung 240gb 970 evo plus M.2 / Samsung 512gb SM961 M.2 / WD SCorpio 320 GB / WD BLUE 1TB CASE : Deepcool Matrexx 55 I had relativelly high temperatures especially in the GPU. I had tried many times to repaste the card and put new thermal pads and tighten the screws and everything with a bit better temps ( from 110 C hotspot to -> 90~95 C). I then installed an Arctic Accellero Xtreme IV and had very good temps on the GPU-HOTSPOT(around ~ 60 C gpu / ~ 85 C hotspot) but very high VRAM temperatures ( > 95-100C) even after installing back plate and small copper heatsinks with thermal adhesive glue. After many tries with thermal tape on the small heatsinks (on VRAMs and Mosfeets and VRM capacitors) the temperatures had fallen a bit to around 90-95C VRAM but not stable with a 120mm fan also straight pussing air on the arctic backplate. All this temps were under load in games and in Furmark After GPU stress test 10-20 minutes... With the CPU I didnt have problems because I had installed an Arctic Freezer Esports 2 duo and had very good temps(as on the reviews) with relativelly low noise). Anyway , long story short , I decided to installed my first Custom Water loop for CPU & GPU and went with soft tubing (easier for first try etc etc). CPU BLOCK : Freezemod AM4 -> https://www.banggood.com/Red-Copper-Plate-CPU-Water-Cooling-Block-Waterblock-0_3mm-Water-Channel-Injection-for-AMD-AM4-p-1401576.html?rmmds=myorder&cur_warehouse=CN GPU BLOCK : Custom for Gigabyte rx5700 xt gaming oc -> https://hybridcooling-modding.fr/gpu/200-waterblock-rx-5700-xt-gaming-oc-8g.html Radiator : Bykski 360mm (I think its slimmer than normal) -> https://www.banggood.com/BYKSKI-B-RD360-TN-G14-14-Tubes-360mm-Copper-Computer-Radiator-Water-Cooling-CPU-PC-Liquid-Water-Heatsink-p-1591744.html?rmmds=myorder&cur_warehouse=CN Pump : Tank+Pump Combo -> https://freezemod.com/product/freeze-mod-pump-reservoir-kit-for-computer-water-cooling-system-rgb-control-or-aura-synchronizationpub-fs6pd-17/ Bykski fittings + soft tubes / Radiator is in Push Pool mode with fans on both sides (Enermax & Arctic fans etc) After many tries and problems occured I finally managed to install the GPU Block and everything but had high VRAM temperature again (> 100 C after furmark 10-20 minutes) even though the GPU Block had an area that covered the VRAMs also ( with thermal pads ).... So I installed the Back Blate from Arctic Accellero xtreme IV also with thermal pads and also a 120mm fan on top to cool the VRAM and finally after many many tries and modifications I have reached an acceptable (for me at least ..) setup of everything. I want to post the temperatures now that I have in my system with the custom loop and if anyone with more experience can tell me if the temps are OK now or any other suggestion about my system because it is the first time for me and of course I probably had done a mistake or two ( some were fixed during the proccess...) So now After 30 minutes of stress test on both GPU & CPU (Furmark on Gpu STRESS test @ 1440 + Prime 95 at smallest FFP) I saw temperatures : GPU : around 50 C mostly max 53 C GPU Hotspot : around 70 mostly max 75 C VRAM : around 80 mostly max 84 C VRM : around 80 mostly max 81 C CPU : around 67-68 mostly max 70 C This temperatures are also the same when playing games (not constantlly) with very small variatons (2-3 C on the gpu hotspot and 2-3 C on the cpu). Vram & VRM is much much lower ( due to the lowest memory controller load of course ) when playing games VRAM sits at around 70 C and VRM also sits at around 70 C after 2-3 hours of gameplay (Horizon zero dawn - Doom Eternal - PUBG etc etc) with very small variatons +- 3-4 C. Are these temperatures OK considering everything ??? *the temps are with the pump contant working @ 100 % (~3500 rmp) because if I lower @ 70% or less GPU HOTSPOT rises up to 80-85 C and CPU temp also rises 2-3 C at least.* Is it ok to use the pump at 100 % all the time ??? * as long as the noise is very low (It doesnt bother me at all barelly audible , fans are much more audible @ 50-60% - probably a D5 pump on the part) * *Thermaltake Cryonaut was used as thermal paste in CPU and GPU but in CPU I didnt put a lot of paste to cover the edges also so I think I can mod this the next time I will service my loop because I know Ryzen tend to have high temps on the edges on the CPU Die and need to cover the hole cpu surface very good with thermal paste...* *Last thing to inform is tha I use FRTC from Registry in order to Cap frames at 118 since I use a Samsung Qled TV with FREESYNC 1440@120hz and its the only way as long as I have tested to effectivelly cap my fps lower than the screens higher freequency for Freesync to work properly* So many games are running @ 118 fps capped at times like PUBG and DOOM and not using 100% of GPU all the time and others like HORIZON @ 65-75 fps constantly using 100% of GPU. The card is running on 2050 mhz Core / 1750 memory / 1068mV voltage - (without issues from the undervolt have tested the card for hours for errors bsods etc) TimeSpy Results : ~ 9950 Points Horizon Benchmark@1440 ultra settings & freesync : 69 - 70 Fps Sorry for the long post. I wanted to include everything ...

Hello, first of all sorry for my bad english. . I have Cooler Master MWE GOLD 550watts and it's work just fine with my previous built GTX 1660S, Ryzen 5 3600 and AIO watercooling Deepcool Gammax 240mm. And then few days ago I upgrade my GPU with Sapphire rx 5700 xt refference card (Got a good price that's why I choose the refference card). I change the stock cooler with AIO Cooling from ID.COOLING 120MM. Now my pc suddenly goes off for few times either I play game or just starring at the desktop. But sometimes the problem didnt occur. I can play AC Odyssey with High Setting for few hours. I really dont know what the problem is. I didnt overclock my pc. Do i need to change PSU or stick with it, please give me an advice or explanation about what I've been through. Thanks for your reply in advance. My Build : Gigabyte B450m Gaming Motherboard Ryzen 5 3600 with Deepcool Gammax l240mm Tsunami DDR4 16gb (2x8gb) 2600mhz 2x2TB Seagate harddrive 1 M2 NVme SSD 500GB Kingston RX 5700 XT with AIO ID.COOLING 120MM 5 RGB 120mm fans with controller.

Hello everyone, well my gtx 1070, wich i bought in second hand, that i have for almost an year, well after pushing for it in some games i noticed the fans weren't spinning at all under high loads and the gpu would get up to 92 ºC i tried speed fan, msi afterburner, and none was helping. at that point i had an old asus motherboard . i then bought a ryzen 5 3600 and a b450 tomahawk max. i updated all drivers and now even with msi afterburner the fans dont spin , in games like modern warfare the temperature starts to rise , at 70 º the fans rev up and go down, then again at 72 and 75 until 80ºC after that they simply dont spin and the temperatures continue to go up. i think it's an used gpu and i got scammed... and i thought about buying another one i was looking forward to rx 5700 xt (because of price/performance) , however i see many people complaining about sometimes the gpu works and others it simply gives out a black screen or blue and i dont know if i should go for it or maybe buy one from nvidia like a rtx 2060 or 2070 hope u guys can help me sorry for the mistakes i may have made during the post

So what's people's opinions and experiences on these two series of cards. From the UK the 2070S seem to be around the £450 to £550 mark, whilst the 5700XT are around £300 to £400. I've read that the 5700XTs are still heavily hit by lots of different driver problems, such as stuttering above 144Hz, black screen issues and so on. They also don't come with the NVENC encoder for streaming, but that is a huge price difference so still not sure how easy it is to compare to each other, especially as AMD seem to have their own streaming solutions. Any owners of either series, especially if experiencing having used both want to add their experiences using these cards?

Hello, Here is my share from a friend that does alote benchmarks for some german magazine, he kindly gave me his excel of 16 games with alote CPUs, since I´m building a new PC, I selected only 8 games and 3 CPUs with a combo of 1 Nvidia and 1 AMD. Its a comon combo for a CPU range price in 140 to 320€ (not sure how much is in $). System was testes in professional way, trust me. I had the work to select and creat with excel this graph table. Hope u enjoy! 1080p on Ultra = BLUE 1440p on Ultra = Orange

Hi guys, im in a dilemma, my computer broke completely down and now I'm shopping for a new one. With the new CPUs from ryzen coming up I have to be a little bit more patient however my dilemma is with the graphics cards. I'm gaming at 1440p and my curent budget i can afford the 2080 strix. Now should I go for the rx 5700 xt or just the rtx 2080 or 2080 super. Whats also a question mark with release date. I'm willing to wait till half juli my wife is already going nuts with me taking her tv. I know that the rtx 2080 is the best and the 5700xt is still a unknown and only coming close to 2070. But is it worth it at 1440p uw to get a 2080 and spend so much, I don't really care about raytrace. (Yet). What do you guys think. Another options would be: 2070 super

Hey guys, finally we have some competition on the CPU/GPU front and I've decided to part ways with some parts from my current rig (passing them to a family member, if you're curious). Here's what I'm keeping: Corsair H115i Platinum, Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB 3200Mhz, Corsair RM750x, 3x Corsair ML140 Pro RGB and Samsung 860 EVO 1TB. The usual question - am I going to do more than just game? Yes, but only a little bit, I'd say it would be a light workstation of sorts? Anyway, easy part first - for my OS and everything that isn't a game I'm going with Corsair MP510 480GB (same price as Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB, roughly 90 USD). I live in Poland so I'll covert the prices for your convenience, you know from the title what I'm choosing between, so here are the details - 3700X (~415 USD), Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite (~230 USD) and Gigabyte RX 5700 XT Gaming OC (~530 USD - I know that because one site has pre-ordered them somehow and they're already have the price they're going to sell them for) or 9700K (~450 USD), Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Elite (~200 USD) and Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Windforce OC (~630 USD). Everything will be overclocked, as high as it will go. You may have noticed that I my rig is basically Gigabyte/Corsair party, never had any problems with their stuff, so they're here to stay. It's basically 100 USD between those two configs, and I don't really care about that. I would like to know which of those two would you choose based on "futureproofing" or rather, which setup has more life and performance left in it as of today. Maybe I should go with 3700X and 2070 Super? Maybe I should wait for more Navi's and Comet Lake? But then again, Intel is still going with 14nm, and Navi might or might not kill nVidia's current lineup. I'm curious about your thoughts. Oh, by the way, I have Gigabyte AD27QD, so I'm gaming in 1440p with high frames if possible and I have both FreeSync and GSync support. Thanks for the replies!

Has anyone seen or gotten any benchmarks for 5700 or 5700XT in Premiere/Davinci or other video edit applications in 4k and 1080p workflows. I know for Premiere CUDA on Nvidia cards is preferred but I'm curious how it stacks up. I did see EposVox talk about it briefly in one of his videos on Navi and he did get some interesting/promising numbers. But I would like to see some more in depth information on them in this application especially regarding timeline performance (looking at playback resolution compared to frame drops) with GPU heavy effects, export time in different codecs and different encoding workloads.

Hey everyone, I do a lot of reading but don't post much on this forum. I figured I would share my experience with installing an Arctic Accelero III (or IV) on an RX 5700/5700XT. Let me start by saying I purchased a Sapphire branded 5700XT along with an R5 3600 on launch day. I was disappointed to find my card was unstable and would heavily throttle even on stock settings. It was doing this because the junction temperature would quickly reach 110 degrees +. I did try Gamer's Nexus' thermal paste and washer trick but that did not help even with a very aggressive fan curve. I figured I was unlucky and received a card that had a slight manufacturing defect in the stock cooler or possibly a bad component running hot. Since I planned to eventually use an aftermarket cooling solution anyways I decided to give it a go. I went with the Accelero III as the IV's backplate would not fit in my application. Below are pictures accompanied by tips of each step. This was my solution for heat sink placement. Due to the large mounting bracket you need to get creative on where you mount the VRAM heatsinks. Use the 4 "skinny" heatsinks mounted almost to the far edge from the GPU for the chips along the side. You can use 2 "square" heatsinks for the top chips but they need to be mounted almost halfway off of each chip to clear the heatsink. I HIGHLY recommend using the factory back plate. I originally mounted everything up without and the card just isn't sturdy enough on it's own. Use the 6 factory backplate screws and size M2.5 nuts with plastic or fiber washers between the board and the nut. I would recommend washers around 1mm or so thick. If you go too large the factory screws aren't long enough. Also, the rear mounting bracket won't quite clear the back plate. Instead of using the 4 black spacers the Accelero instructions call for use the 4 white 4.5mm spacers included with the kit (they're the ones intended for the front mount on older GTX 4 and 5 series cards). Everything mounted and ready for installation. I am truly amazed at the difference. I now have a quiet card that runs properly and has a good amount of overclocking headroom. I was playing around with the soft power play table mod running at 1.25 volt on the core with a +50% power limit and I never went beyond a junction temp of 84 degrees and the GPU temp stays in the 60's. For daily driving with a 1.2v core and +50% power limit I am 10-15 degrees less. VERY HAPPY! Maybe it's time to get in bed with team red.

hey guys. so quick run down on build. ryzen 7 3700x with coolermaster AIO 16gb trident gskill ram 3200mhz ASRock x570 phamtom gaming 4 mobo 750w gold PSU and obviously blower style rx 5700 xt by powercolor. now plays apex fine, gta 5 is really smooth, even plays the older games in my steam library such as l4d2 and all them fine, csgo plays really well too. my problem is i cant play gears 5, war thunder and even BO 4 due to whatever reason. i either get stuck on a black screen with nothing responding, still have audio but alt+tab doesnt work, ctrl alt del even shift esc does nothing, have to reset the PC to get visuals back. or i get the driver hung message and game goes to poo and have to restart anyway. currently using 19.9.1 software version, rolling back to previous versions of the driver also didnt help for any of these games. is there something else that would be conflicting with said games or is it just a compatibility issue with the drivers not yet being up to par for gears etc. picture of PC because new desk feels and why not
