So I bought an MSI RX 570 Armor OC for $80 CAD (including shipping and taxes). Would've gone for an RX 560 or something else but it's hard to find cheaper ones on eBay. Is it a hot card & can it be left running on a computer without worrying about heat generation? I only bought this to replace my dad's V4900 as I gave him my 4K monitor, and it was too much for it. He doesn't game, and mainly browses the web & listens to music. His PC has a 2nd gen i5-2400 (essentially a rebuilt OptiPlex 790) running on Ubuntu LTS.

I built this PC back in December of 2020. It ran perfectly with no issues that I can recall. Here lately though, whenever a game is run, it opens nicely, runs well with no lagging or tearing, and the clock speeds and alike for the system have all well been within normal operating parameters; suddenly the screens (3 screens connected using display ports) go black and I'm greeted by the boot screen again. (The one you see when you start/restart your computer). There were a few other issues that arise as the crashes stared up to. The SATA ports on my ROG STRIX BF450-F Motherboard all stopped working except for two. Finally found the culprit -> The latest BIOS update auto-enables fast boot and CPU overclocking (auto). With those two disabled, the SATA ports all work again, but haven't fixed the rebooting issue... I've done the driver updates for CPU, GPU, BIOS, Chipsets, USB hubs, Bluetooth, and Reinstalled Windows. I even went as far as to revert back to a 2020 version of bios and all respective drivers for the rig, but nothing worked. (All drivers and BIOS up to date now.) I've cleared all errors in the windows "Event Viewer" and there are no pending critical errors being posted other than EVENT 86 and EVENT 46. Event 86: SCEP Certificate enrollment initialization for WORKGROUP\G-RIG001$ via https://AMD-KeyId-578c545f796951421221a4a578acdb5f682f89c8.microsoftaik.azure.net/templates/Aik/scep failed: GetCACaps... (Windows states that it's an AMD issue) Event 46: Computer yelling at me to stop having the power turn off unexpectedly After pulling my hair out and trying to diagnose this issue myself, I've run a series of tests using Cinebench, Heaven, and MemTest5. So far my conclusions for: 1.) Cinebench - (Monitored with AMD Ryzen Master) Ran with multi-core option ~5 times for 10 mins each time. No crash. No wavy clock speeds, and now dips /raises in CPU temp. - I believe the CPU is fine in this instance. 2.) MemTest5 - Ran tests for all aspects of the 24gb of RAM. No fails detected by program. - I believe the RAM is fine. 3.) Heaven Benchmark 4.0 (Basic Edition) - (Monitored with AMD Software: Adrenaline Edition) Video starts off choppy and slow as each new transition loads in. Noticed the GPU Utilization was ranging from 0% to 80% to 100%, then back down to 0% quite wildly as the sample intervals were set to show every 0.5 seconds. 3.a.) Stopped the Heaven from playing and started it up again after it running for about 7 minuets of the first run. Video loaded smoothly and everything seemed fast and quick. GPU Utilization ranged from 100% to 80% (mainly 100%). This lasted for about 18 minuets and then the system crash -> automatic reboot happened again. 3.b.) Started Heaven again, but had the GPU overclocked through AMD Adrenaline. Same result as "3.a" only there hasn't been a crash in about 2 hours now. (Note - No Overclocking is ever used when playing games or anything on this PC.) 3.c.) Used default settings for GPU again through AMD Adrenaline -> Ran Heaven once more and the system restart/crash happened again while GPU usage was at ~100% and all system heat levels were well within normal ranges. Note - Heaven Settings are: API: DirectX 11 Quality: High Tessellation: Extreme Stero3D: Disabled Multi-Monitor: Disabled Anti-Aliasing: x8 Fullscreen: No Resolution: 1920x1080 As I said before, everything about this Rig had worked well for about a year and a half. Not sure why it would even be having this sort of issue now. I'm attaching some images of the computer build here as well as the PSU since this problem MIGHT be related to another post here: https://linustechtips.com/topic/1214710-help-pc-crashes-when-playing-games-and-on-heaven-benchmark/?tab=comments Specs: MotherBoard: ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming System Type: x64 Processor: AMD RYZEN 5 1600 Multicore O.S.: Windows 10 Edu Ed. GPU: XFX Radeon RX 570 RS XXX Edition 1286MHz, 8gb GDDR5, DX12 VR Ready... AMD Graphics Card (RX-570P8DFD6) BIOS: American Mega Trends RAM: 24 GB - (XPG z1 DDR4 3200MHz (PC4 25600) 288-Pin CL16-20-20 Memory Modules) PSU: Cooler Master Elite v3 600 Watt ATX Power Supply (See picture for specs -> detailed). (If I missed any spec detail, I hope it'd be in the images provided.) Sorry for the long post, but I'm almost at a loss as to what to do/try. Don't know if the PSU became "not good enough" suddenly or what, but... any and all help is appreciated. Apologies in advance for any rambling.

So, I'm having trouble deciding because I am driving 2 different resolution displays, 1080p and 4k. I use the 1080p display vertically and mostly for secondary tasks, and the 4k display as my main work and gaming display. I have a ASRock 5600 XT 6GB, and then separately I have 2x PowerColor Red Devil RX 570 4GB cards. So, I'm wondering if it's better to use the 2 cards, so each display is driven individually or the one card for both. Gaming on a 4k display adds to the workload of the GPU so I'm not sure if I should be using a whole card or part of one. Apart from playing games like Minecraft or Valheim, I do some work in Blender modeling or rendering scenes, and photo/video editing. I am hoping someone can give some numbers to justify the answer they give, and i understand that I could pair the 5600 XT with one of the 570s, but I also want to use less power, I have an 850W psu. Any suggestions help!

Built a computer for a relative a while back. GPU is Radeon RX 570 8GT OC and CPU is Ryzen 5 2600. (1 m.2 drive, and 1 tb hdd drive) We originally had issues I believe due to a faulty motherboard (AsRock). We then switched to Asus TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard and still had some issues to which it was suggested that the PSU we were using at the time wasn't enough power for the system. I believe we were using 500w PSU? The last upgrade I got him for the PSU was a 600w Corsair which I believe to be enough for his build? Ever since I made these two corrections all his issues seemed to stop. There are no more BSOD anymore, the computer doesn't randomly shut off anymore BUT, I still have a few concerns. He is still running a stock cooler on the CPU so I understand that it can have thermal issues. (Mind you I removed the prepaste and used Artic Silver instead) I believe the CPU idles around 40c? The only problem is that, as far as I can tell, the GPU Fans NEVER turn on. I can't even force them to turn on with separate programs like MSI Afterburner or AMD Adrenaline. I am not sure if the card has some kind of built in ambient temp and will only turn on as needed but I have never seen the GPU fans turn on once. Not even while gaming but, at least the computer isn't shutting down anymore. I would assume if it was too hot it would shut down? But I do recall his GPU to be around 80 - 93c while gaming? It has been a while since I have tested his PC and it is difficult for me to trouble shoot through TeamVeiwer as I don't live in the area anymore. From all the reviews I've seen, the RX 570 paired with the Ryzen 2600 should be able to smash most games at 1080p. But to me it seems like he consistently gets low FPS. Destiny 2 for example, I hear Destiny 2 is not optimized well, but even my GTX 780 could get 60fps with High settings. While my relative's build barely manages 30 - 45fps with low - medium settings. So, any thoughts? I have tried everything I can think of. I feel like, either the PSU still isn't enough, or perhaps the GPU card is just bad? It "works," I just don't think it performs as it should be. Thank you.

My current system specs: CPU : RYZEN 3 3100 GPU : RX 570 4gb (PowerColor) Ram : 16 gb (8x2) My main problem is when im playing battle royale game like Apex Legends and COD:WARZONE. I use these video for reference of what I think my pc should run the game : apex - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGqPv4kUY_M&ab_channel=Mim'zGamingYT , COD:Warzone - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcB4kMUhDvE&ab_channel=Mim'zGamingYT When I play apex with the lowest settings @ 1080p, I get nowhere near the performance like the video above. When i'm on the plane I only get about 30 - 35 fps and when I land on the map, it run at 50 - 70 fps with a lot of stuttering and my average fps is about 56 - 65. COD:Warzone is worse, I try to play on the lowest setting @ 720 and I can only achieve fps with an average of 40 - 47 fps. But this problem doesn't occur in a other battle royale game like pubg, it runs very smooth about 80 - 90 fps on highest settings. I also monitor the system while in-game using MSI afterburner and rivatuner statistic server and i can't seem to find anything unusual or maybe I just don't know if something is wrong. My gpu is running like it supposed to be about 98% - 100% while my cpu never touch 100%. Sorry for my bad english, I tried to explain it as simple as possbile and thank you so much. I'am looking foward for you guys replies!

Hi there, As you all are aware that currently is the worst time to buy a new gpu. Also I'm waiting for the new budget gpus like RTX 3050 TI or similar but I don't think Nvidia or AMD can keep up with the demand at least for a year. But I have got 2 offers to purchase below GPUs around $100(10000INR) GTX 1060 6GB: https://www.asus.com/in/Graphics-Cards/DUAL-GTX1060-O6G/overview/ RX 570: https://www.msi.com/Graphics-Card/Radeon-RX-570-GAMING-X-4G/Specification Here's my system: Ryzen 3 3100 MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX Corsair CX 550W GTX 750 TI(too old to play new games now) Please solve my below queries: 1) which gpu I should go with GTX 1060 6GB or RX 570 as I watched benchmarks of both of them and its a close call. and how future proof are they? 2) is AMD RX 570 is beneficial as I have AMD cpu? also I have AMD freecync monitor so is that worth the hype and should go with AMD gpu instead? 3) is my psu capable enough for these GPUs? I know both gpu's power requirements are low but I still wanna confirm will this make my PC unstable? Thank you in advance.

I've bought a used RX 570, specifically Asus RX 570 4g - https://rog.asus.com/us/graphics-cards/graphics-cards/rog-strix/rog-strix-rx570-4g-gaming-model/ The card initially does not work, but once ATI Flash is used its working fine in Windows. Turned on GPU-Z to check the bios, etc. and it turns out it has a BIOS of a Expedition RX 570 O4G flashed Clicking lookup, I get sent to this page: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/asus-expedition-rx-570-oc.b4507 Which clearly isn't the card that I have installed at the moment. I went to find a BIOS for it, with no verified BIOSes, I went to the unverified ones to find a suitable one. I've tried multiple ones, can't remember which ones exactly but I think its these: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/195505/195505 https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/202194/202194 https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/199919/199919 They all seem to match the GPU information, although none of them seem to want to flash, I get a "SubsystemIDs missmatch" error. I'm not really experienced in flashing GPUs, this is my 2nd time doing it so any help or explanation of the error is appreciated. Does anyone have this GPU and can export the original BIOS, or maybe has a link to download the original? Or is there any way to bypass this error without too much tinkering around... Thanks in advance!

Hye people. This is my current setup i3 10105f, RX 570 4G(NO OC), 2 ram stick, 3 7200rpm hdd. I don't want to cheap out by buying unknown brand or unrated psu, but i can't overspend either. I wanted to buy Cooler Master MWE V2 600W Bronze (Tier B), But, from this link, https://linustechtips.com/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list/ , (which mentions about the psu having HIGH RIPPLE on very low load), should be worried if ripples may damage/age/degrade my components faster ? Is there any real impact due to that? Second best PSU that i can fit in budget is ADATA XPG Pylon - having review from Cybernatics, but still Tier C and NO LLC mentioned. And msi MAG A650BN but there were no review, not on Tier list and not even on 80PLUS WEBSITE. Other choices that i have is EVGA W2 600W, FSP HV PRO 85+ 550W, FSP Hydro 600W, 1st Player DK Premium 600w and few others(COUGAR VTE/VTK, SILVERSTONEST50F-ES230 ). Many people recommends the Cooler master, but i'm worried abt the ripple issues. ALSO MY BUDGET IS USD50(I'm from Malaysia and above PSUs fits this budget). As for other PSU, all of them were in Tier C - some has DC-to-DC, but people recommends to go for LLC for my RX 570. - I don't know nor understand anything about this. Hope, i could get some explanation t choose.

Hey guys, I am a PC builder from Czech Republic, and today I've came across an interesting problem. I had built a customers PC (i5 12400f, ASUS B660M-A PRO D4), but the GPU is still in shipping. I've decided to just pop RX 570 4GB in (since i have like 10 of them laying here in stock), to preinstall OS etc.. But I got no post with beep code, pointing to GPU failure. Interesting. I've tried this GPU in another setup on B250 board, and everything worked fine. Than I had tested the GPU in completely different system, based on i9-12900k and ASUS TUF Z690 Plus. The same result - beep code, pointing to GPU, and dead screen. This did make me a bit uncomfortable, so I tested all of the other RX 570s that I had in stock, and every single one of them had displayed the same behaviour. They just won't post in Intel 12th gen setups. But in older PCs, they work just fine. And no - they do not have mining bioses in them, I reflashed them with stock bioses, and they are perfectly good and tested cards in older systems. Is this behaviour something, that you are experiencing too? Do you have any suggestions on what to try, to make the 12th gen work with RX 570s? I am going to build another system with i3 12100F, H610, and RX 570 GPU for another client soon - so I am a bit affraid, that this behaviour will repeat, and I'm not sure, how to go about it. Both of the intel 12th gen systems mentioned above, work perfectly fine with RTX 30** cards Tested multiple of them (3080ti and 3060ti) Thanks for your time and advices guys

Nice day everyone, as the title says I have an issue with my PC. I was playing some games when my PC shutdowns with the keyboard and mice still on. I tried to turn it on but it won't boot, I noticed that the GPU fans are not spinning when it's attempting to boot so I removed my GPU and reinstalled it. After reinstalling it my GPU works but only for a while ( sometimes 5 mins.,10mins.,15mins., ). My guess is it could be a driver issue so I tried to Uninstall it's diver with DDU through safe mode but the issue still persist. I was planning to change it's thermal paste for I was having an issue about it's thermal but can't buy anything online ( can't buy at our local store, some are close and some are not selling a good thermal paste ) cause there is no shipping option available as we got recently got hit by a typhoon. I've also tried using different PSUs ( 4 in total ) but it still the same. I have no other PC to try the card so I can't test if it's fine or not. Is there any other way to fix my card? can't afford a new one right now so any help about my issue is greatly appreciated. sorry for my bad english SPECS: i7 3770 cpu RX 570 gpu 16gb ddr3 ram foxconn h61mx motherboard superflower 600w psu

Hey all! I'm planning on putting an 8600GT in a computer with an RX570. The reason for this is to use its native VGA with my CRT monitor (which matches the sleeper case I have for it ), which throws fits when using DP and HDMI to VGA adapters. From what I know about laptop graphics, you can switch a program to use dedicated graphics from onboard solutions; but what happens when you have two discrete graphics cards? Is the age difference too large between the two cards to use any form of pass-through? If it matters, the board I'm using these in has an X370 chipset, with one of the two x16 PCIe slots running at x4 (preferably with the 8600GT) and will be paired with a Ryzen 2600.

Really weird issue. In the middle of games or just navigating the desktop, the display will randomly turn black with a 'No Signal' message. There's no blue screen because the system is completely responsive after the display turns off (can continue to talk and hear on discord calls, keyboard responsive when pausing a youtube video). Currently the issue can simply be fixed by clearing the CMOS (also requires reinstalling the graphics card drivers every time) but this issue sometimes happens as often as every hour so that's incredibly annoying to do especially during competitive games. The issue has been isolated to the graphics card - both PCIe slots on mobo tested and working fine with a different GPU, display works fine with any other input (Raspberry Pi, MacBook, etc) and the HDMI cable works fine in any other scenario but I switched that out just to be safe. Any other troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Community! Long time viewer but first time poster. I have a XFX Radeon RX 570 XXX Edition 8Gb GPU that I purchased in late September of 2019. Due to thermals, at the time, I had undervolted the GPU to pull around 70W - 80W. I recently purchased a NZXT Kraken G12, NZXT Kraken X53 240mm and a Mini Heat Sink Kit. Prior to the modifications, the GPU would run at 70*C - 75*C while gaming but now runs at 50*C - 55*C. Despite the amazing drop in temperature, I now have some concerns about the Mosfet thermals and power consumption of the GPU. After taking off the original heat sink from the GPU, I replaced the thermal pad that was covering the Mosfets for the VRMs with the Mini Heat Sink Kit. There were no thermal pads on the VRMs after taking the heat sink off, which I confirmed was apart of the GPUs original design. First concern, is the Mini Heat Sink Kit dissipating the heat from the Mosfets as efficiently or possibly better than the thermal pad connected to the original heat sink? The reason I ask this is due to no where on HWiNFO64 does it state Mosfet temperature. Second concern is my GPU now draws 100W - 150W of power while gaming. The TDP of the GPU is 150W so I am concerned that I am hitting its limit and sometimes even exceeding it. Is my GPU in danger? Third concern is I have a Corsair 650W PSU. Will this PSU comfortably power the GPU? The GPU in paired with a AMD Ryzen 7 2700 8 core CPU. Any insight pertaining to my concerns would be most appreciated.

hi there guys, i recently noticed a few things with this graphic card and i found it to be odd considering that is suppose to have a tdp of 150w, but according to msi afterburner and gpu z is not that case at all. the bios version that i have is this, according to gpu z: 0.15.050.002.001.000000 so whats going on here? i thought this card was suppose to draw more power than 90w alone. is there anything i can do about it? i recently noticed that ive been having crashes on valorant from time to time. also have to mention this but this card has been RMA before because it died at one point under a thunderstorm but its suppose to be fixed so i dont understand why the limit. my system specs: https://valid.x86.fr/qt2gp9 (thanks cpuz) power suply xpg pylon 750w bronze

Dear gaming friends! Recently, I have bought 2 XFX RX570s w/ 4gb VRAM. I was led to believe that they are in perfect condition, however, the salesman was a cryptominer so I am not 100 percent sure if they were modded in any way. I have tried them both on 2 machines with same problems. Both cards show a similar or same set of defaults: - They don't display anything with any AMD driver - With the Win10 default driver, the cards work, however, two very large bars of pink color pop up on the screen, about a third away from each side of the monitor - Trying to install the driver via AMD Adrenaline either causes a BSOD either before they install completely or sometime after the install. - I have once managed to somehow install the driver successfully and the display became normal, and I managed to run Heaven for a couple mins. However, a few mins after I turned Heaven off, the system BSODed again and I was left with similar things as before - HDMI does not work at all, DVI does what I described. What I have tried: - Using DDU before and after - Installing some other AMD driver w/ a 7970 and using that - Switching from an old AMD dual core w/ 2gb ddr2 SODIMM to a i5 6400 w/ 16gb DDR4 - Switching the bios versions on the card via the switch on the card itself (the model has a dual bios config, although only one card has the switch, on the other one, it's broken off) - Changing the card's bios - the stock one from that bios database is already on the cards and there is no other version available. What I have not tried: opening the card and switching thermal paste or something. Unless both cards have had thermal paste removed/applied incorrectly, they get more than enough cooling. I used 3 different PSUs, 450, 500 and 600 Watts. Booting off an SATA SSD, fully updated Win10s. No problem with other cards or any other hardware whatsoever. I feel like the problem has to be software related because both cards behave so similarly. I don't think overheating is the problem as sometimes the cards run for minutes without crashing, while other times they cause a BSOD right away. Any ideas? Thanks! Both cards display the picture like this:

Hello, i recently got this video card and i am trying to undervolt it for the cooler temperatures. I never touched anything like theese before, don't really have much experience with it and i am asking for help. What would be the best possible setting for this specific card that can stay cool and have good performance? I have also set up a custom fan curve, wich did help a little bit but honestly not too much. I just wish to have a smooth and stable experience with it. My PSU is a Thermaltake RGB 650w Bronze Any additional tips and suggestions will be really appriciated so i could learn a bit more The picture is of the stock settings, completly untouched. (Forgive me for the foreign texts)

Got a replacement GPU about 3 months ago and the other day was playing Destiny 2. Switched over to Dead by Daylight custom lobby with my friends. As the lobby started loading the screen went black and the sound in my headset glitched out. Turned it off and on and it was working fine. As soon as I started a game up again and it tried to load in it crashed again. Third time screen went black but sound didnt glitch. Could still hear everything fine but no luck with the video. Checked the GPU and the fans werent running and kinda smelt like a soldering iron but nothing was hot. Now the PC boots and everything seems fine even the GPU fans but still a black screen. Checked the HDMI and monitor itself and theres no problems. Have tried taking the GPU out and putting it back in but still no luck. Have no clue what's going on. Also have tried with a DVI cable in-case the HDMI port is fried and still no luck.

Will the Rage mode OC feature come to Polaris GPUs like the RX 580/570/560 or is it RDNA 2 exclusive? I'm hoping that since it's a software level feature, it should be supported.
