  1. Linus said on a WAN in the recent past that he just wants to wear a hoodie year-round, and that the team is developing some sort of breathable summer-wear that would protect your skin, especially your arms and neck from the sun. I love this idea, and I'd get it in a heartbeat. Does anyone have info about the project? Or, have you found a similar solution that works for you?
  2. Summary NOTE: This is a Rumor, not confirmed by Apple. Everything here should be taken with a grain of salt. A new small Mac Pro with Apple Silicon will come out and the redesigned iMac will have colors. The small Mac Pro looks like "3 to 4 Mac Mini stacked on top of each other" and apparentally looks like the PowerMac G4 Cube. The iMac will have a redesign that is similar to an iPad Pro and the Pro Display XDR, and comes with "fun" colors. The IO and it's location is unknown. Quotes My thoughts As with all leaks, this one might not be accurate. To me personally, I think this would be a pretty logical move of Apple. The small Mac Pro was pretty interesting to me, since it would probably be cheaper than the current Mac Pro, and it seems like it's the same design idea as the 2013 Mac Pro. Small and premium looking. With the iMac, I was genuinally suprised that Apple would add colors to the iMac, but I guess it's targeted on the younger people market. Anyways, any Apple news are exiting, since when Apple releases this creature we may finally see other companies finally get high performance ARM processors into powerful laptops and desktops. Sources
  3. Strongly considor watching Jon Prossors video. Pure comedy gold, and just an overall better report. This forum post is made to inform people about this rumor, and direct peoples attention to the video. Summary After one week of nothing at all, known leaker Jon Prossor from Front Page Tech has revealed his renders of the 2022 iPhone, the iPhone 14. Quotes No. Go and watch Jon Prossors video. He (and RendersByIan) deserves it. And after you watched the video, here are some real quotes: From the video: (No I am not going to spend my day writing down everything Jon said just watch the video already) From MacRumors: From 9to5Mac: From AppleInsider: My thoughts Wow. iPhone 14, six days before iPhone 13 (or whatever it's going to be called). Insane. Hole punch display? Mmm. No camera bump? Check. Titanium chassis? Check. Jon Prossor is no 100% leaker, but he is fairly decent at this stuff. Previous reports about the new iMacs, AirTags design and much more was made by him. But still, take this rumor with a bit of salt. You shouldn't rely on rumors, but this does look sick. Just admire it for yourself. Sources https://www.frontpagetech.com/2021/09/08/exclusive-a-closer-first-look-at-iphone-14/ https://www.macrumors.com/2021/09/08/iphone-14-leak-jon-prosser/ https://9to5mac.com/2021/09/08/iphone-14-leak-design-features-more/ https://appleinsider.com/articles/21/09/08/2022-iphone-14-revealed-by-leakers-days-before-iphone-13-announcement Twitter accounts of FPT team: Notes: Images: Edits: PS:
  4. So far it seems to make me wonder since currently not only does it have 40 CUs vs XBSX 52 CUs but also 2560 SUs vs the XBSX 3584 SUs how in the hell is it gonna be able to beat series X at 1825MHz? It most be 2250MHz or higher to even be able to reach or higer to be close to the 10.24 TFLOPS of the series X right?
  5. Note: This news article is incorrect, since Nvidia announced the GeForce RTX 3060 with 12GB of VRAM, on their Game On event. I will contact staff of the LTT forum and ask if this post can be removed.
  6. According to Twitter user @MebiuW, who has posted some accurate leaks in the past, the Core i9 variant of Rocket Lake-S will hit a turbo clock of 5.4GHz to 5.5GHz, while at least one of the Core i7 SKUs will turbo to 5GHz to 5.2GHz. The leaker claims Rocket Lake-S will handle an all-core overclock to 5GHz without any trouble. Source 1: https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/rocket-lake-s-could-be-substantially-faster-for-games-than-the-current-comet-lake-s.html Source 2: https://hothardware.com/news/intel-rocket-lake-s-11th-gen-cpus-5ghz-all-core-turbo What's interesting the most about this rumor / leak, are the claims that the ES (Engineering Samples) CPUs are reaching 5.3GHz already. While 5.4-5.5GHz seems pretty outlandish / far-fetched for 14nm, typically ES chips aren't very close to retail clock speeds / clock rates. Usually the clockspeeds introduced with ES chips can be way off the retail mark (typically the retail sample's clocks are much higher). Regardless, for context, here's the CL-S 10th gen clock speed breakdown; Core i9-10900K: 3.7GHz base, 5.1GHz single-core, 5.2GHz max turbo 3.0, 4.8GHz all-core turbo. Core i9-10900: 2.8GHz base, 5GHz single-core, 5.1GHz max turbo 3.0, 4.5GHz all-core turbo. Core i7-10700K 3.8GHz base, 5GHz single-score, 5.1GHZ max turbo 3.0, 4.7GHz all-core turbo. Lastly, please note that Intel's Thermal Velocity Boost feature permits the i9-10900K and i9-10900 to hit single-core boosts of 5.3GHz, and all-core boost of 4.9GHz, when conditions are ideal. Therefore, there's a possibility that these 5.4-5.5GHz rumor numbers are in actuality regarding Thermal Velocity Boost specifications for the 11th Gen Rocket Lake chips. This makes the claim / rumor a bit more realistic. Personally looking forward to seeing the outcome of this rumor.
  7. Summary Today we have a new rumor that NVIDIA will use AI to optimize its driver performance to reach grounds that the human workforce can not. According to CapFrameX, NVIDIA is allegedly preparing special drivers with optimizations done by AI algorithms. As the source claims, the average improvement will yield a 10% performance increase with up to 30% in best-case scenarios. Quotes My thoughts This is cool, as it looks like AMD's Fine Wine will have a competitor in the driver maturation area. I think up to 30% is quite a bold claim, but who knows what is being left on the table, performance wise, from human done coding. I think the goal is always to bring performance closer to the metal, and it appears that's what NVIDIA is trying to do here with the AI Optimizations. As always, this is a rumor with vague implications being made, therefore take it with a grain a salt. Either or, if true, this could be huge for increasing performance on NVIDIA cards, as even 10% improvement through drivers is welcomed. Sources https://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/joao-silva/nvidia-reportedly-developing-ai-optimised-graphics-drivers-up-to-30-performance-gains/ https://www.techpowerup.com/303308/nvidia-could-release-ai-optimized-drivers-improving-overall-performance https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-reportedly-working-on-ai-optimized-drivers-with-improved-performance https://www.techradar.com/news/watch-out-amd-nvidia-could-boost-gpu-performance-by-up-to-30-with-ai
  8. Summary Images claiming to be renders of an upcoming Nvidia Titan GPU have been released by Moore's Law Is Dead. The as-of-yet-unconfirmed images show a card that pushes the boundaries of believability, boasting two of the now infamous 12VHPWR connectors, giving a max theoretical power draw of nearly 1500 watts. This is accompanied by a full 4-slot wide cooler that dwarfs the already extreme 4090. Quotes My thoughts Even if does turn out to be fake, the fact that something like this could even be taken seriously is a testament to the absurdity of the high-end 4000 series. Sources https://www.tomshardware.com/news/alleged-nvidia-titan-quad-slot-dual-16-pin-power
  9. Summary A new report by HKEPC NVIDIA will launch a 3080ti this January. The card is expected to have 20gb of vram, 10496 CUDA cores and a with GA102-250-KD-A1 GPU. The apparent msrp will be $999. Quotes My thoughts I think whether or not NVIDIA releases the card will depend on how the new RDNA 2 cards perform. I'm defensibly not buying a new GPU until after January though just in case. Sources https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-ti-to-launch-in-january-2021
  10. Credit to UFD Tech on this one: https://www.criticalhit.net/gaming/wild-rumour-the-xbox-series-x-could-be-rebranded-as-the-sega-series-x-in-japan/ https://gamerant.com/sega-big-announcement-microsoft-xbox/ Summary: Sega might be launching a rebranded XSX in Japan, since Xbox always fails in Japan. Thoughts: Lots of wild rumors and it's 2020, so who knows what is really happening. However, this actually would make great sense for both companies. Sony wins the Console Wars because they get 7-9 million sales in Japan that Microsoft can't match. A SEGA-branded console in Japan will at least sell more than a Xbox-branded one, and, if SEGA is actually outright supporting it with Japan-only features, there is a lot of money to be made for both companies. It would be a great strategic alliance for Xbox and SEGA could use the money. Bring on the Dream-Box!
  11. Speculations are going around the web that Intel might release 2 new cpus in response to AMD's upcoming Ryzen processors. First one, is the Core i7 7740K, this processor is clocked at 4.3GHz, 100MHz higher, than the Core i7 7700K and has a higher TDP of 100w vs 91w TDP on the 7700K. Next up is the Core i5 7640K, where it will have a based clock of 4GHz, compared to the standard 3.8GHz on the 7600K. One unique feature for this i5, is the support of Hyper Thread. No turbo boost clock were mentioned for both processors and for now this is just a rumor. https://videocardz.com/65708/intel-preparing-core-i7-7740k-a-response-to-amd-ryzen-7-1800x https://www.overclock3d.net/news/cpu_mainboard/intel_is_reportedly_creating_higher_clocked_kaby_lake_cpus_to_combat_ryzen/1
  12. Decided to put this in the General Discussion since I'm not really sure how much of this could be classified as 'News', especially with as old as the technology is... Apparently HMD Global is planning on releasing a new version of the Nokia 3310 'dumb' phone. I remember having one of these back before getting my first smart phone. Was an absolute joy to have a phone that you could take anywhere and would never die. I still know some people that would love to have these and the only reason they ever moved off of them was that the mobile network they are on didn't support the phone. https://www.engadget.com/2017/02/14/the-nokia-3310-will-reportedly-return-this-month/
  13. So well, a 32GB macbook coming...? Article: http://www.macrumors.com/2017/01/16/kaby-lake-macbooks-ming-chi-kuo/
  14. (please tell if retoast) According to PCGH & there source zolkorn.com , RyZen is Rumored to have no 6 core sku http://www.pcgameshardware.de/AMD-Zen-Codename-261795/News/Ryzen-Sechskern-CPUs-1219327/ (this is in german) apparently is from a "reputable source" according to the Taiwanese website zolkorn.com wich attended CES and might have had some contacts there > heres a rough translation in the spoiler <
  15. Some Nvidia intern has leaked what looks like Nvidia's next Titan based on their just announced Volta architecture. It's either that or someone is extremely bored and did some photochop work And some Tesla pics too http://www.overclock.net/t/1630852/fb-picture-of-volta-titan-leaked-by-nvidia-intern
  16. Speculation has been going about the web, that Intel is making a new processor called KabyLake G. The new cpu will be different, where it has a cpu, discrete gpu, communications, and other chips, all in bundled into a single package. Each of the individual chips will be communicating with each other through Intel's Embedded Multi-die Interconnect Bridge or EMIB for short. The new "bridge" design is a improvement to what Intel was trying to achieve with the same cpu idea, back during the 32nm process days with Clarkdale, Intel says this new bridge is For now it's said that KabyLake G will be a BGA package with a TDP of 65w to 100w, which is well above the mobile KabyLake-H with a TDP of just 45w. This could possibility mean that Intel might have discrete AMD graphics and with use of HBM2, even though no concrete information has been found on this. Package size for KabyLake G measures in at 58.5 x 31 mm , which is larger, than current LGA socket desktop KabyLake S that measures in at 37.5 x 37.5mm. https://www.techpowerup.com/232067/rumored-intel-kaby-lake-g-series-modular-multi-die-hbm-2-amd-graphics-ip
  17. In articles published both on Engadget and WCCFTech and originally being reported on The Information, Uber may be in yet even more hot water for their 'top secret' software based program code-named as 'Hell'. From the Engadget Article: https://www.engadget.com/2017/04/13/uber-hell-program-lyft-drivers/ According to the article, in order to cut back on the number of double-app drivers, the Hell program would begin to send more riders to double-appers and then give them special bonuses for hitting a rider per week count. This apparently led to Uber shelling out tens of millions per a week in bonuses to the double-appers and Uber ended the program in 2016 once Lyft began it's expansion to more cities. If this information is true, it would seem like there might be some more serious legal battles ahead for Uber, beyond their current list of legal issues... 18. Rumor has been spreading on the web that, AMD's successor to Vega, Navi, will have dedicated circuitry for artificial intelligence (Ai), for machine learning. The next gen card will have a new manufacturing process at 7nm, compared to Vega at 14nm. Navi, is expected to debut sometime around 2018. http://www.fudzilla.com/news/graphics/44277-navi-to-have-ai-specific-circuits?cid=dlvr.it http://wccftech.com/amds-navi-7nm-gpus-feature-ai-acceleration-hardware/
  19. Atari Announces New Console Based on "PC" Hardware The video has now been a month old and with 1.1 million views (Time of writing this) Atari has positioned itself in a weird spot considering its last console was released in 1993 (24 Years Ago) which that old console (For comparison) is 10 years older than me. The Console is ""Rumored" to be spotting 4K/60FPS Gaming while achieving a low price point. But something to consider does Atari have enough RND money to be investing into a 4K/60FPS gaming box? I have much skepticism as much as some of us to see if this will either make Atari or put the last nail in its coffin for Console Development Comment your thoughts on this! -Nixon (Sources) Engadget PlaystationsLife
  20. Hi! I wanted to upgrade my pc, and was thinking about going for a Ryzen 5 3600, hoping to find what could be a B550 motherboard, but I did not find any information, not even on availability Are there any rumors of it being announced? Ryzen2 has been out for quite sometime now, and it seems strange that they would not release it
  21. There is a rumor that the "21 percent #PS5" that Tidux tweeted means that the PS5 is 21 percent more powerful then the Xbox Scarlett any thoughts on this
  22. Your WCCFTech news before they get to it! Fresh from the East Asian Tech Twitter comes a link to a Taiwanese forum post. (Translation ) New Information/Confirmation(?): - AMD is launching X570 while not replacing X470, B450 and A320 chipsets. (Speculation: X570 is functionally AM4+ and has PCIe 4.0 lanes operating.) - X570 (And likely Ryzen 3rd Gen) announced at Computex. (This was already sort of known.) - FX Series still refuses to die. - Intel has a new Chipset, C621, which appears to be the Up-To 28 Core platform. Previous roadmap called these the "A-Series" parts. A-series on C-series motherboards? - Cascade Lake-X is Q3 2019. (That's Glacier Falls PCH.) - No Icelake-S in 2019? - B365 is a real chipset. (B360 but on 22nm node.) - GT0 parts are Intel CPUs without an iGPU. This looks like a move to free up supply by not having to waste dies without a working iGPU. My Thoughts: I mostly did this because it's going to hit the rounds anyway, so I might as well scoop the forum post(s) that'll show up in a few hours. Though, it needs to be noted, only the lack of iGPU 9th Gen parts is news with this. All of the rest have been mostly confirmed either officially or with an incredibly large amount of leaks already. X570's launch date is also new, but AMD already said they'd be talking about Ryzen at Computex. Thus, that was mostly already confirmed, along with Zen2 parts having PCIe 4.0 lanes.
  23. So i found information about driver 417.01 hidden feature. I can't confirm it by myself, because i don't have any compatible gsync monitor. Can someone check it out? I have doubts, because it is only one sourse of this information. Sorry for my bad english.
  24. A user on twitter by the username of Apple Lab has apparently gotten their hands on the rumored upcoming specifications for the new MacBooks with the first generation of Apple ARM based Silicon (In their Laptop and possibly desktops line). There is no given evidence that these leaked specifcations are true, but there is also no evidence disproving them - and considering the specifications seem reasonable, I would think they might be pretty accurate. The rumored specs are for a new MacBook - Not a MacBook Pro - so like the 12" MacBook from 2016, in-fact, that's what this is expected to be like, given the expected 12" display. List of Specs taken from Apple Lab's tweet: ARM MacBook info: SoC: A14X RAM: 8GB, 16GB Storage: 256GB,512GB (SSD) Battery life: 15hr~20hr Port: single USB-C Display: 12” (Retina Display) Camera: 720p (FaceTime HD) Weight: lighter than 1Kg Price: $799 (by Apple Lab's "Source") So yes, this is basically a new 2016-type MacBook for 2020 but with Apple Silicon. A good move I think considering that is a great platform to test this on. It will be small, lightweight and not super powerful - much like the 2016 MacBook. A downside I can see is the single USB-C (No word if it is Thunderbolt, much like Apple has reportedly committed to bringing to their ARM based Macs). Article from @Mario5 in the spoiler to keep this article clean-ish (format wise) My thoughts Again, a downside I can see - if these rumored specs are to be believed, is the single USB-C (unconfirmed if Thunderbolt or not). Will it have a headphone jack? How will this compete with other options in Apple's line up - looking at the iPad Pro (even though they are running different operating systems). And if the price is to be believed, for a little more, you could get the MacBook Air (Sure it maybe a little heavier and a dual-core at base, but you get the 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports - for external expansion). Will the new MacBook have butterfly switches or the new scissor switches? I'm personally not sold on ARM as a desktop/laptop chip at the moment, but if anyone can push the industry in that direction, I'm sorry, but Apple will be the one to do that. So only time will see. Please leave your thoughts down below Sources: Source #1: Twitter (@ aaple_lab ) Source #2: Overclock3D: https://www.overclock3d.net/news/systems/specs_for_apple_s_first_apple_silicon_macbook_have_leaked/1
  25. So I was googling for new Intel i9 9900K rumors and saw the latest leaks, but it sparked a new curiosity in me. Something I'd completely forgotten about -- the Ryzen 2800X. I saw a couple folks mention that AMD is holding back on a Ryzen 2800X release until the new Intel i9 9900K specs are confirmed. The conjecture, I saw, is that AMD is waiting to finalize the Ryzen 2800X so that it best competes with the upcoming 8-core Intel offering. I guess what I am asking of you fine folks is how you would assume AMD can accomplish that. Will AMD find a way to shoe-horn more cores into a 2800X? Is it possible they may be able to offer higher clocks? The 2950X does get a slightly higher-end so perhaps some refinement can speed up the current silicon? Or maybe more stringent binning for identifying chips that can run faster? There isn't much in the Googles, right now, so let's play the speculation game.
