Hey everyone. In the last few weeks I noticed that while playing demanding games my RTX 2080 TI nearly immediately reaches a temperature of around 85C°. Then every few minutes the temperature will go up to 86C° and some form of emergency cooling kicks in which makes its fans spin with a lot more than 100% speed. I noticed that when I remove the glass panel of my case (Fractal Design Meshify C) my graphics card will never reach such temps and even under load it will be 10-15C° cooler than before (I made some benchmarks with 3DMark), meaning most of the time the temps will be around 70C°. My CPU temps are mostly fine. So with this information gathered, I think there's something wrong with my airflow and I would like to improve it. This is my current setup: https://imgur.com/a/8bhLx6Z I have 2x 140mm intake fans in the front, and 2x 120mm exhaust fans in the top left. There are two additional fan locations in the top and bottom right. Would it make a difference if I put additional intake fans in said locations or is there anything else I can do to prevent my graphics card from frying itself? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance! :)

Hello. I really need help. I am new to building, so this is my first build. My components: Ryzen 9 5900X RTX2080ti Aorus liquid cooler 240 Gskill 16gb rgb ram 2× Phantex eclipse p400a I just have done my build and when i try to turn it on, everything spins at full, but that's all... no display output, just spins fully. RGB only on RAM. When I try to unplug the D_LED2 (picture) connector, the fans light up, but only the case ones. The cooler won't even light up, not even the led display. I am pretty sure that everything is plugged in correctly checked like 4 times even someone else checked(I hope. When I turn the pc on by the button on case, I can't turn it back off. Only way is to turn the PSU off. I kinda lost all hope... Can anyone know what can be the problem?

Colleagues, I have the above-mentioned case with GTX 1080ti and I am considering an upgrade. 30xx is more massive, but is 2080ti / super bigger?

Hello, this is just a "what if" question. It could happen that I get rtx2080 ti for real cheap(from a trustable source) and a friend of mine has an older pc: I7 4790 and still a gtx970. Now I wonder how the i7 and rtx 2080ti would perform together? Usecases would be gaming and reliable 3d rendering and art work(photoshop etc). I have already found the website https://pc-builds.com/calculator/, but I still want a comment with maybe real experience behind it. I appreciate all the answers I could get. After all its just "what if"

Hi, I have problem with my EVGA RTX 2080 Ti Black Edition (With EKWB full block + backplate). Black screen appears when gaming for few minutes. Seems to be related to temperature. Hotspot temp raises to 107 c and memory temp 102 c while overall GPU temp is ~ 85 degree. I have also i5-11600k cpu with EKWB Nickel block. Is 2 * 240mm radiators little too less for this setup? Or is the GPU faulty? I've replaced thermal pads and paste without any luck.

Does anyone know where I could either send in my faulty RTX 2080ti to get the memory swapped out or order memory modules to replace them myself? I am currently experiencing artifacts when my graphics card exceeds 60 C. It makes all of the scenery look like spikes are jutting from everything then crashes my programs. I have yet for the card to actually crash the computer as a whole. I have some experience with working on pcbs, chips, and soldering, but i am far from a professional. I just want to be able to use my card again rather than having an expensive paper weight. I have an AUROS Extreme RTX 2080ti. I replaced the air cooler on the card with a waterblock to improve the temps on the card since my gaming room is not well insulated and gets hot in the summer. I attempted to send it back to Gigabyte for an RMA, but they refused to fix the card or attempt to help in any way. Thank you

A few months ago I built my first gaming rig, and decided to stuff it with an R7 3700x paired with two GTX 1080 FE in SLI. I got a stupid good deal on the pair of cards with the high bandwidth bridge thrown in. But as of late I've found myself at a bit of a crossroad. After doing some research I've found out that while SLI can be fun, it has some caveats. So the question I'm posing is this...considering that I got a really good deal on the cards that I have, should I stick with them? Or should I upgrade to a RTX 2080ti and sell my current cards? And for either choice, please explain why I should go that route. Thanks!

So i just upgraded from a Radeon RX 580 to a ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080 Ti OC. I did all the steps from upgrading the graphics card, Bios, the Firmware. i even played around with the NIVDA Control Panel and nothing has worked. I also tried different DP and HDMI. i added a video to show what as been happen. thanks my Monitor: Asus VP28UQG 28" 4K/UHD 3840x2160 Recording__2.mp4

Rainbow Dash Wizardry Mark II (RDW MK2) is my personal evolved, completed gaming rig I built and tinkered over the last few months of 2020 after her departure from the "Mark I" status. It was inspired from the PC built in LTT's Ultimate RGB PC Build Guide but made to suit my needs - optimized for overclocking and whisper quiet operation, even during a heavy, synthetic workload. When RDW was in her Mark 1 days in 2019, she was temporarily used as a PXE Boot Server at my workplace (an internet gaming café in Singapore) to boot 84 diskless gaming PCs for my customer's enjoyment for 3 months. But her job as a server is complete and she is now back with me and I upgraded and evolved her. This build was designed to ensure that the user get: - A no compromises, stable gaming experience with very high frame rate - Continuous synthetic, overclocked load without throttling - basking in RGB Glory (which is something a gaming PC "NEEDS" now) - Very Whisper Quiet operation - Able to cool and work as well even in a non Air Conditioned environment of up to 34C The name Rainbow Dash Wizardry came from LTT's Ultimate RGB PC Build Guide - "So let's turn the light's out... And bask, in it's outrageous Rainbow Dash Wizardry!" - Linus Sebastian and because I am a Brony (a male fan of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic), there's no doubt that Rainbow Dash is best pony and the RGB build is the thing! Feel free to ask me if you have any questions on the build! RDW MK2 (2020) Full Specs RDW MK1 (2019) as server, Full Specs EDIT 1: Added tags, added 95% completion paragraph and spoiler, fixed some sentence errors. I built my pc a while back and have always had performance in games that was not matching the performance I have seen others having with a similar setup as mine. I have been trying to correct the low performance with my setup for a while and haven't gotten anywhere. I have reset my BIOS and updated it, uninstalled my GPU drivers and reinstalled them, Overclocked my GPU, and contacted EVGA to see if they could correct my problem, but nothing seems to work. If you know what might be the problem with my computer please help. Hey guys, I built a new pc. I have been getting random complete shut down and sometimes the following error message is shown (I'll post the picture). I am not sure if this is a power supply issue or a graphics card issue. Windows doesn't say "shutting down", my screen and pc literally just turn off. My specs are Intel Core i7 9700K, MSI z390-A Pro, Corsair Vengeance 16GB (3200MHZ), Corsair CX 750, and an Nvidia RTX 2080ti. Please let me know if you can help me. Thanks!

Hi guys, after 8 long years, I am planning to sell my old rig and build completely new one, based around upcomming game Cyberpunk 2077. I am saving for quite some time, therefore I am aiming for the high end products, which should be a little bit future-proof. If I would buy the components now, this would be my build: Case Lian Li PC-O11D Razer Edition €169.90 AIO Thermaltake Floe Riing RGB 360 TT Premium €174.90 Fans Lian Li BR120 Digital RGB PWM Fan 3er Pack + Controller €49.90 Fans Lian Li BR120 Digital RGB PWM Fan 3er Pack + Controller €49.90 PSU Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB 850W Platinum €164.90 Motherboard MSI MEG Z390 ACE €284.00 CPU Intel® Core™ i7-9700K €399.00 RAM G.Skill Trident Z Royal 16 GB DDR4-3200 Kit €147.90 GPU ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 Ti ROG STRIX A11G Gaming €1,269 SSD Samsung 970 EVO 1 TB €239.80 Monitor Asus ROG Strix XG438Q €1,199.00 Total summ €4,148.20 The overall theme of the build is supposed to be cyberpunk-ish looking. In cyberpunk world, there are bright neon lights etc. and as I have all my peripherals from Razer, I opted for the the Lian Li O11D Razer Edition. As for cooling solution, I went with AIO from Thermaltake and fans from Lian Li, as they are working great in the Razer ecosystem via Synapse. I still hope, there would be an AIO from the Lian Li itself, that would be great. As from the power of the build itself, I opted for the i7-9700K, as I really do not see benefit of i9 CPU with an almost 200€ additional cost. Strictly for gaming, 16 GB of DD4-3200 CL16 RAM should be enough, I am aiming to upgrade in the future of 2020 up to 32 GB. The GPU has been for me nobrainer, as I want the best at the market, for a reasonable price (looking at you Titan RTX). With all this components, I am hoping to achieve stable 60 FPS/60 Hz at 4K with the maximum graphic settings in the game itself for the "panoramatic" gaming experience. When I would opt to play something more demanding in the terms of refresh rate, I would play in 2560x1440 resolution with 144Hz or 120Hz, based upon the monitor available at the time. And this makes a nice segway to the "problem" of mine, the monitor. Agh, the monitor. As it is right now, I am currently playing some titles on the PC and some on my PS4 Pro and I am planning to buy PS5 eventually. Therefore, when I would buy a gaming monitor, I would LOVE to have 4K resolution, higher refresh rate at least at 120Hz and good HDR experience (at least VESA HDR 600 certification). But as it is right now, there is just one monitor available at the market for the normal price (under 1,500€), the Asus ROG Strix XG438Q, which has no G-Sync, but AMD FreeSync 2 HDR. I would be okey with that, BUT, the monitor itself has HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.4, therefore, you can't play in 4K 120Hz with 10-bit color. Does it even make sense, to buy such an expensive monitor, when there is really no future-proof aspect in it? I mean, with the new consoles, there should be HDMI 2.1 with much higher bandwith. therefore better experience and really future-proof features. The whole build with the monitor should be MAX around 4,200 €. Well, that's it. I would love from you guys, to hear some suggestions to the build and some advices about the monitor situation. Thank you!

Hey all I'm slightly confused about why my RTX 2080 ti strix OC version is getting so hot. I only run it out of the box, with maxing out the max temp and max power limit. When i run the heaven benchmark it goes all the way up to 80-81 C. The case i'm using is a Fractal Design meshify C with 2 corsair ML140 white pro fans as intake, 2 Corsair ML120 white pro fans on the top as exhaust fans on my h100i pro cooler, and another corsair ML120 white pro fan on the rear as exhaust.

Hi. I m new to tech forums and i want to ask for troubleshooting support. I ran into a problem with my stock gigabyte rtx 2080ti windforce regarding high temps and low usage. In assassins creed oddyssey my gpu usage shows around 89 to 95 percent with temps ranging everywhere from 75 to 81 degrees celsius. My ryzen 7 3700x shows usage between 30 to 60 percent, so it shouldn t be a bottleneck issue. Also, ramping up the gpu fans to 100 percent brings down the temp with just 2 or so degrees. I tried changing the power plan in nvidia control panel, but still no change in usage. Case airflow shouldn t be a concern either since i have 6 corsair ll120 fans of which 2 on the aio cpu cooler. I m a little worried about these insanely high temps and the relatively low gpu usage. Maybe you can help me figure it out. Cheers!

Hi everyone, This is my very first post here at LTT. It would be great if you could give me some advice, or slap me in the face and wake me up from the dream of buying an Alienware Aurora. I am looking at an Aurora R8 from Dell website. It could be customized to i7 9700k CPU, Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti GPU, 32 GB RAM and 1TB SSD. It costs about $2200 USD before tax. It looks like a pretty good deal to me. I am tempted to buy that mostly because I want something faster, cooler and quieter than my current MacBook Pro 2017 to run my python scripts, edit photos on Lightroom and Photoshop and do other random things. I am not a game player at all, but I do love programming. I've only played Diablo III on my MBP and it is hot and loud AF. I want to use the 2080 Ti mostly to see how good it is for GPU acceleration. So my major question is whether the Aurora is a good computer for general use other than gaming. Before posting this, I quickly searched the posts here and found that the Aurora case was not well designed for cooling. I am wondering how bad it could be in terms of noise and thermal issues. Someone suggested to upgrade the case after the warrenty expires. Does Alienware Aurora have a good motherboard as well? Also, I saw rumors saying that Intel would finally launch their 10nm processors during this holiday season, and I would like to know whether it is somehting worth waiting to upgrade the new processor. Any other Alienware related tip is also very much appreciated. BTW, in case anyone is interested in an Alienware desktop, there is a pretty decent sale on Dell website. One Aurora model has $580 off, plus 17% off Intel game day offer and $200 visa prepaid card offer. This is my first time buying a desktop, and it seems very exciting to me. Check that out if you are interested. Thank you everyone!

Hello community, I am building this setup for gaming competitive games, streaming, watching films and listening fav musics. My main need is to have maximum fps for 240hz Monitor in 1080p resolution. Also, data processing will be one of the main thing for this build to do. That's why I chose ryzen 9 over i9 9900k, I hope PCIe 4.0 will do much better. I want to hear your advices almost for all pc parts as I am not PRO at it. CPU and GPU is already bought. I am not looking to save some money and get items with the best value. I just want to know, if there is really much better product for each of part in the same price range. Here is my part list, I hope you will give really good advices

Hello community, I started to build my new PC. Here is part list. I just want to listen here some good and logical advices, as I am going to stream and play at the same time. I want to play at 240hz and stream in 1080p 60fps without any problem. Started with GPU :)). Please, I need your help about the best monitor for that gear (240hz preferrable, also owning 2-3 monitors is not a problem).

When I saw this case, I thought to myself, okay I have to build in it. After building it, I was questioned by friends why would I build such a rig? For what reason? My response "I have no clue I just wanted to build in this case becuase this Phanteks case is calling to me". I also reused some parts from my previous build such as the lg ultra wide monitor, the logitech mouse, my headphones, the microphone, Samsung 850 EVO SSDs and the PSU. AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz 12-Core Processor Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11 GB XC ULTRA GAMING Video Card Phanteks Enthoo Luxe 2 ATX Full Tower Case EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2 1000 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Link to complete build parts https://pcpartpicker.com/b/tMsZxr Custom rigid tube water loop. (First time using rigid tubing) 2 - Black Ice Nemesis 480GTS Radiator. 1 - Black Ice Nemesis 360GTS Radiator. 1 - EKWB EK-CoolStream XE 360 Radiator. 1- Maelstrom D5 V2 Series with X300 reservoir. I used PrimoChill 1/2in. Rigid RevolverSX Series Fittings and mix in with a bunch of Bitspower fittings also. And yes the EK XE 360 radiator is in push pull configuration. The Cables are from CableMod the pro series. And yes there are 18 fans in there the cable management was a quite overwhelming. (RBG cables and PWM cables for each fan.. smh) My thoughts on the build I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. First looking at the Phanteks Case I thought man, that's a lot of room. But now that it's built seems pretty tight in there. I initially wanted to vertically mount the Maelstrom Reservoir/pump combo (I assume it would because the case was so massive), but turned out IT didn't FIT and a then it was suggested that I mount it laying down (Thanks Brainless906). Thank goodness that fit and with the LED strip running on the inside of the case on the corner of the PSU shroud, it actually lights up the reservoir and I decided not to use the ARGB that came with the reservoir/pump. Thoughts on the Fan choice. So I intially priced out for 18 Noctua NF-F12 industrialPPC-2000 PWM. But I thought to myself do I need that much airflow, with all these rads it could maybe passively cool or just need fans at low RPMs to just help it along. After further research (ie watching fan reviews on youtube) I came across a video by Bitwit promoting these "china made fans" by PCCooler. I gave it a try and to be honest I was quite surprised. Initial impressions was that it was quite sturdy and the RGB was not "overwhelming" ( I was fearful that this build would get too "rainbow puke" like). When I powered it on for the first time it was like a having noisy box fan blowing at full blast. But once I got into the bios and turned them down to 25% power they we quite quiet. Not as quiet as Noctua's (my old build used 140mm 2000 rpm industrial fans) but not enough to make a you cringe. So all in all, as far as budget fans go for 13 bucks and change per fan, I'm really glad I went with these fans. Not overbearing RGB with decent performance. Bitwit Video link here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ipfb3YZiWkc (sorry LTT) Lastly I'm not too fond of the bracket for the base that Phanteks added in to make it "easier" for builders. The bracket I feel somewhat restricts the airflow a little when you're trying to adjust it and if you put a anything 360mm (3 fans, or a rad with 3 fans) it butts right up against the the front rad/fans. So essentially you're blocking airflow at the bottom (because of the bracket) and on the front (because it's soo close). I was concerned with airflow so I did some adjustments to move the fat boy 360mm EK rad as far to the rear as I can but with that bracket it didn't help much and had to drill holes of my own. Sorry if this was TL:DR but all in all I'm pleased with the way it turned out and if you have any questions or comments please feel free to share and I will answer it a promptly as I can. 3D mark Spy bench results: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/8829660 First Time rigid Tubing Installing the Radiators and the fans and planning out how to run my hard lines. 1 This was a bit tricky, I ending up using a double rotary 90 fitting, extension fitting, a non rotary 90 fitting and lastly a "sli adjustable" fitting to make this work. So I had to be a little creative here. At first I thought I could bend a 90 rigid tube to make it fit but that was failure so I ended up using a 90 rotary fitting and a "double rotary extension so I could tighten it. (Thank God my fingers fit in there to tighten it) The EK block on the RTX 2080ti The sought after hard to find Ryzen 9 3900X Rigid Tubing! Hello everyone. Can i have two GPU cards without liquid cooling? About a year ago I have made my first build following along this video: Intel 7960X 16 Core Computer Build, Setup and Benchmarks for Video Editing - Hal 2.0 The intent was to have a powerful and upgradable desktop for years to come. My main usage of this build is for photo editing with Photoshop, amateur video editing with DaVinci Resolve and 3D modeling and rendering with Blender and Cycles. Add some casual gaming down time with old games like Civilization IV or Cities XXL. This is my setup: ATX Fractal Design R6 Blackout TG (2x front Intake Dynamic X2 GP-14, 1x rear exhaust Dynamic X2 GP-14) Asus Prime X299-Deluxe Intel Core I9 7900X 3.3Ghz AIO Fractal Design Celsius S36 (intake) 32Gb Vengeance RGB (4x8Gb) DDR4 DRAM 3000Mhz C15 1x Samsung SSD 970 EVO 500Gb NVME M2 (Scratch disk) 1x Samsung SSD 970 PRO 512Gb NVME M2 (Windows 10) 1x Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1Tb SATA II (Storage) Seasonic Prime 1000W 5x USB External Seagate HDD 1x Asus GTX 1080 Ti ROG Strix 11Gb GDDR5 and i want to add: 1x ASUS RTX 2080 Ti ROG Strix 11Gb GDDR6 The idea behind this is to have the RTX as my main GPU and only use both GPUs with Blender Cycles for short periods of time, like real time viewport rendering for material preview and couple of hours long final renders. I have no problem with not being able to use NVLink or SLI (maybe later with another RTX) because the sole usage of both GPUs will be in Blender and the software can handle different GPUs for rendering with Cycles. The RTX would be placed on the top slot and the GTX beneath it. The Thunderbolt card would be removed and the SSD placed elsewhere. Thanks for the Feedback.

So I built a new PC about a month ago, and everything seemed to go fine. It booted up first try and everything seemed to be working, except for the monitor which came with a broken screen but that isn't important right now. So about a week ago, I wake up and went to go use my PC. It was shut off because of the amount of time it had sat inactive. I turned it on and my monitor turned on for a second before saying no signal and turning back off. The PC still appears to be on but the monitor isn't getting any signal. SO I turn the PC off and Back on again and this time I get a light on my motherboard that says VGA next to it. I look it up in the manual and sure enough it says no VGA output.I open up the PC and unplug and remove the graphics card and inspect it. There seems to be no physical damage. I plug it back in and sure enough it works. But now every time my computer shuts off, this same problem occurs. Its happened once a day for the last 3 days. I'm able to fix it but am worried this is a precursor to something worse. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the link to my parts list. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/mcfeegan123/saved/HYYk6h
