Hi All, I mostly play COD:Warzone, since I got 120hz monitor I am trying to consistently get 120fps with native resolution (3440x1440) in game. Pretty all in game settings are set to minimum. On average I get 100fps. Rarely it goes to 120fps and more often it goes to 90fps. So what would you recommend to improve in the system to (in order of priority)? consistently get 120 fps to play at least on medium settings to get a bit better experience First that I thought of was to upgrade GPU (e.g. with RTX 3080). But with the current situation it is impossible to buy 3000 series. As an alternative solutions I think about: 1) Get QHD 144hz monitor until I get 3080, but not sure if my system going to consistently hit 144fps at 2560x1440. 2) Upgrade CPU (e.g. i9-10900), again I am not sure if it will improve anything. What do you think? My setup: GPU: RTX 2080 super CPU: I5-9600 OC to 5Ghz RAM: 32 Gb Drive: Nvme m.2 drive Monitor: Acer WQHD (3440x1440) 120hz with G-Sync

So I started building my PC, and everything was cool, updated bios of the MOBO, installed windows and all, temps were very high so I decided to not use the PC until I get a better cpu cooler, so I bought the kraken Z63, installed it, and now my mobo displays code D6 - No Output Detected. I tried unplugging the AIO cooler, trying the GPU on different PCIe slots still nothing, Here are some pictures and a video of the setup: imgur.com/gallery/30k5pr1 Specs: Ryzen 9 3900x msi ventus rtx 2080 Super gskill trident z neo 2 sticks of 32gb each AORUS NVMe Gen4 SSD 2TB MSI Meg X570 Unify Lian Li O11 dynamic XL keep in mind I had even played a game on the pc before I decided to not turn it on anymore and wait for my new cooler. Edit: Tried the card on the PCI_E5 slot and it works! Only on that slot, not even on the third slot https://imgur.com/JOfUeJk https://imgur.com/oyzDU06 I updated the chipset bios, Nvidia drivers, cleaned the slots with compressed air, I dont know what else to do

Hello, I build my pc bit more than a year ago and it has r5 3600, 16gb 3600 ram, an rtx3060, a B550 mobo and a 650w power supply. Now my brother wants to build a pc too and I want a better gpu to play vr. I have 2 options: 1) He buys a 2nd hand rtx 2060 ( to play fortnite, rocket league, sea of thieves,…) and I keep my rtx3060 until I find somethimg new, better. 2) I re-sell my rtx3060 (for less ofc) to him and buy an asus rog strix 2080 super for €370 second hand my question is, is it smart to buy a 2080s now? Is it going to preform much better in eg; DCS world or Il2 in Vr and is 375 a reasonable price for it or is it smarter to just wait on newer gpu’s.

Hi, I tried my luck on pcmr subreddit but nothing came up - so I'm trying here. Here's a repost and a link to original one: Title is pretty much self explanatory. Recently I bought PNY RTX 2080 Super Triple Fan with serial number VCG20808STFPPB. This card is overall very nice - but support is nowhere to be found. Judging from PNY website - this model does not exist... Honestly I have no idea what should I think of it - but card itself is legit. The problem is hardware support and identification. For example PNY's software is unable to detect it well enough. Even tho this card has RGB I haven't found a program that would controll it properly. Also it seems I got lucky with the silicon lottery and both gpu and ram have a lot of room to be overclocked. Unfortunately cards power limit is hard locked at 250W. So now I'm looking for a different VBIOS to flash. To gain controll over all card functions and to hopefully strech power limit a bit. As far as I can tell, PCB and everything else on my model looks exactly the same as PNY RTX 2080 Super XLR8 Gaming Overclocked Edition with serial VCG20808STFPPB-O (or less likely VCG20808STFMPB-O). But to be honest those serial numbers are mismatched in many online shops - so I simply don't know which one would be safer. Probably the one without USB-C support (since my card doesn't have it). I've been looking for a BIOS from any XLR8 version, but was unable to find it. TechPowerUp database has no official PNY 2080 super BIOS roms. Two unoficial ones are from my card and from a blower version - which for sure will not work with triple fan design. I would appreciate if anyone could point me to a requested BIOS or provide it from owned GPU (possibly passed trough TechPowerUp upload). I'd appreciate any help P.S.: I tried contacting PNY local support - asking to at least identify my card and for some hints with its configuration trough external programs. Waiting for their answer.

Hi guys, recently I've custom looped my PC using barrow water cooling components. Unfortunately I think I've done something really stupid and goosed my 2080 strix super when putting on the waterblock as since putting it into the loop it's not being detected by my asus X570-F. Power LEDs are white with both 8 pins in but the VGA Qled is white and no display. The PC works fine with a Quadro I had lying around. Could anyone help me please?

Hello everyone! I currently have a AMD R9 Fury X and it has been good to me for a long time, but as games get more intense and I am planning to buy a 1440p 144hz monitor, I wanted to ask what would be the best move for a new card, that will be the best at running low-mid (and rare, but some) high tier games at 130-150 fps avg for the present and into the future with also possible VR play soon. My budget is 500-750$ usd, and I was looking at various card from 2070s 2080 2080s and the Vega II. The vega wouldn't be on there, BUT it is 550$ on amazon right now, which is a lot less than msrp. Thank you all in advance for suggestions! P.S. I have a i5-4690k with 16gb ddr3 :)

Hey so first time posting here but I'm out of ideas. My system specs are : Mobo: Asus Tuf x570 plus Cpu: ryzen 9 3900x Gpu: MSI rtx2080 super RAM: GSkill ripjaws v 3200 Psu: evga 850 platinum 1 nvme (boot drive) , and 3 Samsung ssds separate drive running raid 0 So recently I got myself an upgrade to the system above. And at the time when I put it together I had an issue where the VGA light on the motherboard came on and I had no video output from either the dp or HDMI ports on the card. I did some troubleshooting then and it ended up that a simple reseat of the gpu fixed it. It's been working fine for about 2-3 weeks, I've been in Windows, played games, ran programs ect. I went to bed last night, turned the system off and when I was coming back this morning I spotted the vga light on again, and no display again. Nothing changed in the system between last night and this morning. The pc is in a safe place where its not likely to face any major vibration or shocks. So I don't think the ports are damaged. I've checked online already and one suggestion was to try boot with no gpu to see if that works so I'm currently testing that, however I'm doubtful it will work as this is my second shot at it. Any suggestions or help at all is appreciated.

I'm currently putting togehter a new rig for a friend and for now I picked a KFA2 RTX 2080 Super because it's one of the more affordable 2080 Supers on the market. But I randomly stumbled upon the Gigabyte 2080 non super which is cheaper and now I'm wondering if both cards perform the same, because in that case I'd pick the cheaper 2080 over the 2080 super.

Hey guys, hello from Aus! So I started watching Linus Tech Tips 3 channels in the past 6 months, and it really got me back into computers. I used to work in a repair shop building new pcs and reapairing peoples computers. I then moved onto become a boilermaker and watching the channel really rekindled my love for building computers and gaming! So here is my parts list and some photos! MSI X570 Gaming Pro Carbon Wifi AMD Ryzen 3900x Corsair Vengance RGB PRO 3600Mhz MSI RTX2080 Super Gaming X Trio AData XPG SX8200 1TB SSD Seagate Barracude 8TB HDD Corsair H150i Pro 360mm AIO Corsair RM850 Gold 850w PS I originally went with a Corsair Carbide Spec Omega Case but found that the tiny air intake in the front just didnt allow for enough air flow to the radiator. So I changed to: Lian Li PC-011 Dynamic Case Phanteks Vertical GPU Mount and for that RGB goodness: Corsair LL 120 RGB Triple fans Corsair RGB LED Pro expansion kit I am hoping to start doing some streaming soon and have started putting the occasional video on youtube which is why I went the 3900X over a 9900ks. I would really like to do a custom water loop as some point but its will be over $700 Aus to go with what I want so see how I go. I also really need to get come Cable Mod Cables. Hope you like the build!

Hello all, I am building a pc and am looking at trying to run cyberpunk in 4K hopefully. I’ve been told Ryzen 9 3900x is good and Intel’s i9-9900k is good. Which One should I invest in? And which motherboard to go with them? As well as if this build looks good to you all so far and if there’s any changes you’d recommend. Thanks! BUILD: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vpK3Zf

Hi, I'm looking into building in the phanteks evolv shift. Unfortunately i can't find anything about max gpu width anywhere other than it being dual slot. Does anyone have experience with putting a card like the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080 Super Windforce OC 8G in there? Since its dual slot and a tiny bit more. Or any suggestions for an rtx2080 super that will fit? Thanks in advance!

Hey there, Last year in November, I bought new computer parts and built my first own computer. At first sight, everything worked fined and no problems occured. Later on, i kept getting BSOD's but I dont get the reason why ... First of all, here are my specs: OS: Win 10 Professional (64-Bit) Mainboard: MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon BIOS: 7B17v171 (tested 7B17v16 as well) CPU: i-9 9900KS CPU-Fan: Noctua NH-D15 GPU: Nvidia RTX 2080 Super (Palit Gamerock) PSU: be quiet! Dark Power Pro P11 750W Drive: WD SSD 500GB Blue Pc M.2 Memory: Crucial DIMM 32GB DDR-4 2666MHz (Slot 2,4) (I know, its not a good one) I didn't overclock anything myself or changed anything in BIOS (at first). XMP is not supported. At first, it started with "whea_uncorrectable_error" and usually happened in idle. It rarely crashed while at max power/perfomance. I tried to update all drivers, deactivated unnecessary drivers and searching for driver faults. I used "sfc /scannow", the windows feature to detect Memory and Drive faults and used MemTest86 (3 runs with 0 errors). Windows debugger often said that the proccess "audiodg.exe" is faulty but i updated every audio driver and its not fixed. I tried to use the memory in single channel instead of dual channel and it didnt help. Later on (about 2-3 Weeks ago) i reinstalled windows and the first 3-4 days it didnt crash but now starting again. I changed some values in bios but nothing changed. I changed cpu sa to 1.18V and io to 1.1V and memory voltage to 1.32V. I "downclocked" the memory to 2444MHz "DDR4-2400 (18x100.00x1.33)" and still crashing. I hope i didnt forget anything and I'm sorry for my bad language ... Its not my main language Ah, and I uploaded some old dumpfiles (before i reinstalled windows), some new and some other stuff that might be helpful. Thanks for you help, Marcel DumpFiles.rar perfmon.html DumpFiles_old.rar

Hey Guys!!! So Christmas is coming up, and I want to upgrade my computer again. I just recently learned that a single rtx 2080 can run GTA5 at ~100 fps. I have an rtx 2080 already and get about ~85 fps in GTA Online. Now, I have a monitor with a refresh rate of 144 hz, however, it runs into serious lag problems and tearing when it isn't at 144 fps. This means that 100 fps still feels like 30 fps. If I limit my moniter's refresh rate to something like 60 fps, the gamma increases for some reason ruining the look of my screen. (I know ways to possibly fix this, but I don't really want to run at 60 fps). So here's the delema... should I sell my current graphics card and get an rtx 2080ti or should I get another rtx2080. I also have another question. Could I buy a 2080 super and link it to my current (non-super) 2080, or would that not work. I had some trouble finding reliable information on this topic. I couldn't find any I'm willing to pay a decent amount of money, however I don't want to go above $1000 as that's my absolute max. I also have a ryzen 3900x. Should I upgrade to a 3950x? Ask me any questions as needed!! Thanks!!!

Hi all, I call this a home workstation because I am in no way a gamer but decided to build a beefy system for working at home and some (very) light gaming purely as a technical exercise- I am fascinated by great feats in engineering and the evolution of hardware and software to give us what we have available today. What I have learned is computing at this level is expensive! And I didn't even go "all in" - stuck to 9th gen Intel / not the fastest RAM / not a 2080ti or 30xx / only 2TB storage. So kudos to the gamers who really want the best rig to give them any edge possible. I couldn't ever recall a system costing so much with near-flagship parts in the 90s but perhaps I am looking back with rose-tinted glasses. This is now the final revision of this rig - the poor case has had an i7 3770k & i7 9700f before settling with this latest iteration. So, any further building in the future will be a scratch build. It really is a nice machine - but I ask not what my machine can do for me, rather, what can I do with this machine as it totally overkill for what home/work tasks I would typically do on a PC. I know that whether it be gaming, 3D rendering/CAD, music/video production, sysadmin/coding, web browsing, office applications etc. for the next few years at least, there isn't much I couldn't throw at it and it would struggle. As my daughter becomes more IT aware, if she was to use it for school, games etc. I know she won't be complaining the computer is too slow that's for sure - for now anyway! And so to the specs: CPU: Intel i9 9900kf Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Pro RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB (4x16 GB) DDR4 3200MHz C16 GPU: ASUS Dual Fan GeForce RTX2080 Super EVO 8GB GDDR6 Case: Corsair 275R Airflow Storage (OS) Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB / (Data) Samsung 860 EVO 1TB PSU: Corsair RM750x 80 PLUS Gold 750W Display: MSI Optix G241 24" IPS 144Hz Cooling: Noctua NH-D15 + 4x 120mm Noctua case Fans Keyboard: MS Wired 600 Desktop Mouse: MS Wired 600 Desktop Sound: Onboard HD Audio Operating System: Win 10 Pro 64 Bit Benchmarks: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/34868856 https://valid.x86.fr/ipe563 https://www.passmark.com/baselines/V10/display.php?id=131623822877 https://powerboard.basemark.com/benchmark-result/850446 https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/52439805 https://www.3dmark.com/pcm10/52440938 Pictures:

Hi everyone, I hope everyone's staying safe. Simply put, my RTX 2080 SUPER can't play GTA 5 respectfully at any settings, let alone the Nvidia recommend "optimized" settings. which given the specs, makes absolutely no sense! On 1080 I can get somewhere between 24-44 fps with an average of 33. No Mods whatsoever. Here is the rundown: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X liquid cooled 64 gigs of RAM @ 3200 C16 Game running on a non-OS NVMe at the beginning, thinking that might be the problem, I uninstalled it and installed it again on OS drive (both launcher and game on the same drive) no change whatsoever. 2080 Super running on latest driver, just stress tested it to make sure I'm not losing my mind. Temps barely went above 72C, no throttling. Normal MSI Afterburner profile, nothing crazy. Everything is updated,, even the bios Game Settings: https://imgur.com/a/rhktFNA Stats during in-game benchmark: CPU utilization barely exceeding 10-18% @ 4.23 GHz, although about 8 cores working harder than the others, still not maxed out. RAM @ 13 GB stable (20%) GPU is recognized. 3D utilization never exceeds 10-20%. Copy never exceeds 5%. Video encode/decode both 0%. Overall Utilization around 19%. Dedicated GPU memory usage is around 6.9-7Gigs. GPU memory @ 7.1Gigs. Shared GPU memory 0.2/32 GB stable. There's something seriously wrong here. I see others on Youtube playing at higher resolutions and much higher frame rates During the opening/loading screen, it's a beautiful 250 fps.. other than that it's utter crap. My power management is set on maximum performance. I honestly don't know what else to do. I can play something like No Man's Sky on 4K full Ultra settings with 50-55 fps. And with Fortnite with all settings maxed out at Epic I can get 57-60 fps since my screen is capped at 60. and I ask for nothing more. This makes absolutely no sense. Anyone got any ideas? Please do share as I'm beyond frustrated rn. Thanks.

Hello everyone Hope you all okay I'm Kinda in a dilemma and I want the community opinion on it, 1 year ago I have bought RTX2080 Super waterforce from Gigabyte the one come with closed loop (not only water block) lately I was listening to some bubbles noises also I bought new case "Cooler master TD500 Mesh" to change my bitfenix enso mesh as it only support 1 240 rad and i wanted to install AIO for my CPU. however while dismantling my PC I found a leak trace in the GPU like in the picture. I Contacted Gigabyte and asked them to sell me the closed loop cooler for this card as spare part and their response was to check my dealer they were very unhelpful as they closed all options for me. the card should have a 4 years warranty but I bought the card from amazon and globally shipped it to me. so I'm kinda out of the returning options. For now I think the card is not leaking anymore (not 100% sure) but i think the leak is at the tubing fitting from the GPU side, in case it was twisted a little i can see trace of liquid. For any case with 160mm wide this will happen (i think it advised to vertical mount this card because look on the pictures on my old case setup tubing was not that bad). now the tubes are in the best position I could make it and the radiator is on the top so air wont ruin the pump. The GPU now is usable, the idle temperature is 30-32 (before was 26 but also front mount so not sure if its because of the leak as the cooler needs more liquid or because of the top mount, as the CPU rad feeding hot air to it) and at load its 52/60 depends on my fan curve * it was 52 with silent mod which now is 59~60 with same mod). Also the bubble noise is more often now, so here is my solutions: 1 - Buy EK block for my GPU and go full custom loop with the card (will cost me alot and new GPUs in the corner) 2 - Buy a premix coolant and try to refill the closed loop cooler (not sure if i should just try to add liquid or empty it and fill it full) I'm kinda pro in modification and maintenance so I think I will be fine 3 - Buy new card when the RTX 3000 series launch and get over with it (not sure if I can sell my GPU with this condition without lying which not an option) also for now I don't feel the need to upgrade which is so sad. 4 - leave it like this and watch what will happen next XD if get worse try to fill it maybe of buy block. ( this will be hard on my heart xD, also shipping will take long time for GPU block ect so I might end up with no PC for long time ) If you have any other Idea I will be very great-full, Pictures of my current system is attached the least your tought about the gpu tubes now? And an advise avoid this model because really I was really careful with it and I have build tons of PC before and I mean tons. also found some similar cases in youtube so ....
