Hello everyone, I'm Ivan. I live in Italy, and in these days we are facing a very hot weather. My room reach 30°C (about 86°F) and my PC runs very hot. Well... Not very hot but hotter than when I have 20-22°C room temp. I'm a technician, and I change every month or so thermal paste on both CPU and GPU. Now, the GPU runs at 60-70°C depending on what type of games I'm playing, but the CPU on idle stays at 60°C, when in early June and before, on idle stayed at 40-45°C. So, here it is my question: I have an Arctic Freezer eSports 34 DUO. Could a Cooler Master AIO 120 lower my CPU temps? And maybe a little bit even my GPU's temps, since the AIO throws directly out of my case all CPU's heat... Thank you to whoever will answer!

Hello. Didn't know wher i should post this. Like my question already said,I want my PC in another room. The next possible position for me to put my PC is around 25m away. I know Linus did this already long ago but I don't want to search trough thousands of his videos to find everything i need. Also there could be a better solution than in an older video. I want to use my 1440p 240hz monitor and my second monitor. Is this even possible? If not, what hz is the best i can expect at this distance (25m)? What kind of cable can or should i use? Normal HDMI/DP? Do I need a fiber-optic cable? Or thunderbolt/usb-c? Do I need PCIe cards? Would be nice if it would be a smaller connector because I have to go through 3 walls. I don't want to drill a big hole. Let alone 3 big holes. What do I need for my peripherals? Do i have to fear higher input lag? How about my on/off PC button? Can i just use a long cable? Thank u for your help

Hi All! I'm looking for some help looking over my plan and parts list as a sanity check (because this is driving me crazy)! Background I have a second floor office that can heat up a little from the sun. I then filled this room with 2 gaming computers, 2 "servers" (old computers), 2 mini computers, 9 monitors, networking equipment, 4 humans, and a dog. This causes the room to heat up a lot. The servers and gaming PCs aren't the quietest either. I then took the time to build sit-stand desks for the family and doled out specific spaces for each person. Only after building the desks and installing everything did I realize that my spacing calculation was off and to use secondary monitors, me and my wife needed our computers moved. We don't have enough leg room to mount under the desks. Que my dreams off purchasing and setting up a server rack for everything in a separate room (Thank you Linus for the seed planted in my head)! Reality set in and the computers have to stay in the room, I can't re-purchase all of my computers as rack mountable, I can't have any of the fun new routers, network controllers, switches, internet speeds, no UPSs (for the moment), and cost is a factor (Reality bites). It's also key to note that one gaming machine is Intel and the other is AMD and I'm looking to implement the same solution for both computers for "simplicity". I'm also trying to run the gaming monitors at 1440p @144hz at 8bit depth without HDR with RGB color space (but would like 4:4:4 to reach the monitors). Problem Statement Find a way to reduce the heat generation and noise in the room, in a space conscience and financially responsible way. Financially responsible in this context meaning not buying the cheapest junk, but instead purchasing the lowest price freely available for good products from brands that will support issues. (I know, I had to throw the hardball in!) Plan Rack: Purchase a server rack, install two shelves with each shelf holding two computers, and install a shelf to hold networking equipment. Purchase/ 3D print a vent shroud to attach to the top of the rack and funnel the hot air through rigid/flexible ducting to a window insert. Install fans and panels on the front of the rack to control air entering and not exiting the rack through the front. Video: Run active display port cables to where each gaming machine was and then use an MST hub to split the signal for extended desktop. Data: Run active USB 3 to where each gaming computer was, then adapt from USB-A to USB-C, and then attach a USB dock/hub to connect [keyboard, mouse, USB headphones, microphone, flash drives, and 3.5mm speakers]. Issues Some things I've run into already include: AMD CPU is said to not be compatible with readily available Thunderbolt 3/4 add-in cards Motherboards don't have USB-C with DisplayPort alt mode USB-C native cables are multitudes more expensive Running the cables in a wife approved manner requires about 40'ish feet cables (would like extra to in sure a good reach). Hi Guys, I am currently preparing to move in a bigger Apartment with my girlfriend and we are currently deciding wether we should have our PCs in a room together or in separate rooms. My biggest concern would be Audio in This case, because i dont know if it is possible to be in the Same room and talking with other people on discord (Not together on the some one essentially) without otherd hearing my gf or vice versa. I thought about positioning the desks next to each other or away from each other. Next Thing Was maybe using those foam Things you put on Walls? And the question i Was having at the end was, should we either both have a Micro phone like shure/tbone/etc. or is it really irrelevant if she has a Headset and i a desk mic? If anybody has suggestions or maybe a Post which is already for This topic i would be happy. If im in the wrong section with This please Tell me so.

I have just realized something. My room doesn’t have Ethernet in it. Do I have to get a WiFi adapter for a PC to even work and play games online?

Budget (including currency): 5000 Country: usa Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: unreal engine, games, creative programs etc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): My current setup Bequiet dark base pro 900, case is all on 140mm silent wings 3 fans, 3080ti 3700x plan to upgrade 32gb memory My budget is 5k to get this project done I have spent hours trying to find out how linus moved his pc in another room creating a completely silence gaming and productivity experience. Can some one tell me the exact step by step guide on how to accomplish this? Without loosing high refresh rates from monitors? I have concluded so far that I will need - Corning Thunderbolt optical cable, Caldigit TS4 Thunderbolt dock. and I think ill need a thunderbolt AIC card too, is that correct? if so, 1. I believe ill connect a short DP cable from the GPU to the AIC thunderbolt card attached to the motherboard. 2. connect the Corning Thunderbolt optical cable from the AIC thunderbolt card to the Caldigit TS4 dock that supports high refresh rate monitors. 3. connect DP cable from the Caldigit TS4 to the high refresh rate monitor. is that correct? after all that i should be able to connect all my peripherals to the TS4 dock and i should be set? im just looking for a confirmation.. hoping someone out there has done this other than linus...

Currently, I use a Mid-tower case and I tried installing a 240 mm AIO, and it was too crammed space so I RMA'd it. If I bought a FULL TOWER case, would it make installing a full 360 mm AIO easier? 2nd question, Would a Full Tower make everything a lot easier to install and move around 'in general'? Or am I on the wrong track here completely? Many Thanks!.

I need advice on what to do. I have a massive server rack roughly 4 meters away from my desk. What's the best way to get I/O from my pc (on the rack) to my desk without (or minimal) delay? Let me know if an image would be useful to help with ideas.

We were planning on buying an Oled tv until we heard that Oled can't handle bright rooms that well. Is it better to go with a Qled or stay with Oled. Our curtains block the light partially.

Hello there, I'm in the process of nailing down a spec for a watercooling build, and I wanted to get some more experienced water-coolers perspectives on this: Considering I will likely be having a 280mm radiator (45mm thick) at the top of the case with fans, and no rear fan. At the front - would you put a: 1) A Thin 26mm thick, 240mm radiator sandwiched by 4 x 120mm fans or 2) A Thicker 38mm thick, 240mm radiator with 2 x 120mm fans on one side? My initial thoughts are: Option 1 would provide better all-round cooling of things like the motherboard components due to higher airflow, however potentially less cooling compared to Option 2 for the CPU and GPU. and Option 2 could provide better cooling of the CPU and GPU at the expense of cooling to other components like the motherboard. What do you think? do you have a better idea? The computers basic components: - Intel i7-6700K - MSI Z170 Mortar Motherboard - EVGA GTX 1070 FTW - Phanteks Enthoo Evolv mATX case Other conisderations - All fans involved are Static Pressure - CPU and GPU will have mild overclocks - The PC is aimed to be quiet - The case can only support a MAX. 240mm radiator at the front

Hi I have searched for a while now and havent found any answers so i thought i could ask the comunity and what i wondered was that. In my room i have like a walk in closet that i have stuff in and it's colder in there than it is in the room i think it's about (10-15C) in the closet and maybe (22-25C) in my room and i want to know if i can run my pc there,i am doing it right now but everytime i go to sleep i bring it out because i'm afraid its gonna break my question is should i keep bring it in to my room everynight or can i have it in there over the nights? i know that water is a factor but i dont think it is gonna be water particles because it is not so cold in there but still colder than a normal room, And can i start it when it is cold the next day or should i take it to room temperature and then start it? thanks for reading this long text i apreciate every help i can get!

So I need some speakers or a speaker tower that has a small footprint that I can put in my dorm. I don't have a huge amount of space for a soundbar and subwoofer but I could probably make space if it was worth it. I don't want it to be super expensive either, I'd like it to be less than £50 because I don't play music through speakers a huge amount. I see it kind of as a breach of privacy because people listen from outside or the next room (idk I'm weird) but then again I want to be able to listen to my music without having headphones or earbuds on me. I enjoy a good amount of base but I don't want some muddy garbled sound. I found this (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00PUH6RXM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A2VG3212FDIQWH&th=1) which seems to be exactly what I'm looking for but there's also the WX (found on the same page) that is £60 but seems to be smaller (which is good) and more the kind of thing I buy 3 or 4 of to play music around a house. Any help would be great thanks!

At work I was tasked with setting up video conferences - we were thinking (as a small firm) google hangouts or Skype for business. I wanted to know your guys' take on how a set up like this should go. I got a decent web cam, and everything will be run into a mac mini. I was thinking the TV speakers would be good enough with 2 microphones on the table that will be connected via USB to an external sound card. (slightly worried about the echo). Thoughts?

So I have $50 to spend, and I would like to use it to decorate my room. I already have desks and all of the necessary things, so I was hoping you guys could recommend me some nice posters or other wall things as well as some nice desk things. Anything is nice, and I can squeeze another $10 in there if it's necessary.

As the title says, I know it would be better for the pc but I was wondering if it will affect the room temperatures even if a little. Specs arer in picture. I have a 140mm fan where the gpu is at as an intake. I clean my computer of dust every 1-2 months. As much as I like smaller cases, I'd rather not be hot all the time. Especially this Florida weather.

So, i have a large empty room, that is designated to be a living room / lounge... I was thinking more a home cinema then a living room, its a long room with the size (guestimate) of 10ft x 18ft. I was thinking of 4k projector + media center, any other ideas?

I don't know if this is the right sub forum, but since it's a mod for my own room I suppose it fits here. Hello! So I've been thinking about something lately: Could I use some RGB case fans to cool my room in the summer and also make it look dope? But how would I power the fans? I know you put the fans into a controller to change the RGB modes. But if it isn't in a computer case, where do I power the controller? Something that I also have been thinking about is putting an RGB/RGBW strip in the ceiling to give some nice lightning. But I run into the same question there, how do I control/power the strips?

I would like to know how you guys attach sound dampening foam to your walls? Specifically, how do you make it so the foam sticks easily to those 3M Command Strips? Do you tape the foam to make a good sticking surface or do you glue it or something else? Any help will do.
