Hello, I've a few questions for PG279QM owners: On lagom.nl's black level test, are the top left 3 darkest black squares normally invisible? I researched this and apparently a lot of other people also had the same thing happen. Is this just how this monitor is? Note: With dark level set to 2 I can see the third square, and on level 3 it appears very clearly. However, regardless of the dark boost level the first two remain invisible. The auto SDR brightness setting makes the monitor's brightness quite dark. Even using a flashlight right on top of the ambient sensor only achieves a slight increase in brightness. Is that the same for you too? What's up with the Six-axis Saturation on the OSD being locked? I can't find a way to unlock it. I'm only using the factory settings (Racing Mode, HDR off). No HDR or sRGB GameVisual which lock some settings. UPDATE FOR ALL PG279QM OWNERS: I found the solution for the locked six-axis saturation setting. If it's locked for you, it means you are either using the default Racing Mode GameVisual or the sRGB one. In order for the axis setting to unlock you must use any other GameVisual (Scenery, Cinema etc.). Hope this helps you, but I'm still looking for your insight regarding the other two questions. Thank you. Thanks.

I have an ROG Swift PG 278q and a GTX 1070 and I still notice some frame tearing when playing games. Is this an unusual problem, or is there a solution, or is there something here that I'm missing?

Hello, after buying and using ASUS ROG SWIFT PG258Q, for my budget a very expensive monitor, i started to notice, that when i play videos on it, i can clearly see pixels, and they are big. I dont know if i set up things the wrong way or something (its set to 1920x1080 full scale) , but my secondary 1080p monitor has no such problem, and the pixels are barely visible (picture included). The 240hz feature is fantastic and i have no complains about the gaming part.. But this monitor is defenetly not 1080p. Can someone relate to this problem? Is there a solution? Is the monitor faulted? Because i cant believe the garbage resolution quality of a 600 euro monitor.

Dear LTT forum, I have a space problem right now and had to move the computer a considerable amount farther away from the peripherals, creating a huge issue with the reach of the cables. So here is what I had in mind: What if I connected a USB hub to one of my PG279Q's downstream USB slots (after of course plugging the upstream cable into my PC) and then connected all of the other peripherals (mouse, keyboard etc.) to the USB hub? The USB hub will have its own power supply of course. Will this work, or will I have issues with performance? I'm using Windows 10 and I've heard a lot of USB hubs don't get recognized in this OS, how solid is that? Or... maybe I should just get a bunch of cable extensions instead? I'd like to hear your opinions on this matter in general. Thank you for your time. RJ

So I'm looking to get a dual monitor stand. I currently have the rog swift (g-sync) and plan on getting another 27" Asus monitor that will also bee 1440p. My only question is which dual monitor stands should I go with. My biggest concern is the weight of the rog swift. I was also thinking of just going with a solo monitor stand for just the 2nd monitor. I figured it wouldn't be a big deal since the rog swift doesn't need to be moved that often and again the weight. So what do you guys recommend.

The initial reviews of the amazing ROG Swift 1440p IPS 165 Hz monitor indicated horrible backlight bleed, dead pixels, dead insects behind the panel, etc. Basically a quality control nightmare from Asus. My question is this - does anyone know if things have improved? This monitor has been on shelves for 7 months and one would think the QC issues have been ironed out by now. Thoughts?

I want to get an ROG Swift. I know the current model is getting close a year old so I'm wondering how often does Asus normally release new versions of their existing monitors? If there's a good chance of new one in September I'd be willing to wait.

I currently have a watercooled TITAN X running 2 pg278q ROG swift, looks like it handles it pretty well, ULTRA on GTA V. But will it be able to run 3 swifts at ultra and good FPS?

I'd like to get an ROG Swift some time this year, the one with 165hz refresh rate. I'm wondering if in order to drive a monitor that fast do you need a super high end video card or is there some tech going on in the G-sync module that allows a lower end G-sync capable card like the 970 to still look silky smooth on such a fast display? Thanks

So I just ordered myself an ASUS ROG Swift pg279q (heavily influenced by Linus' review) as I have been waiting for it to come in stock for a while. However, I was contemplating getting the pg27aq instead when it comes out. They are both IPS gsync monitors, but the pg279q is 1440@165 while the pg27aq is 4k@60. I am either going to buy a 980ti after the price drops next week or buy the pascal equivalent of the 980ti when it releases. I do NOT plan to SLI at anytime in the future. My question is, is a 980ti overkill for 1440p? Should I have went with 4k? Will pascal's $650 flagship be able to buttery smooth 4k game on a single GPU? What should I do guys?

Hi all, I'm currently in the middle of planning out my new and upgraded setup, where I'm upgrading most parts of my setup, including my monitors. I currently have 2 of the same monitors (Acer K222HQL). They are 21.5" each, 1080p, 60Hz. They are fairly old model monitors, and I so I felt like it would be worthwhile to upgrade them. I've decided that I want to have a triple monitor setup, with all three monitors the same size (probably 27"), but not necessarily the same model/brand. Right now, I'm looking into buying the Asus PG279Q ROG Swift monitor as my main display, with two LG 27MP67VQ's on either side as secondary and tertiary displays. If anyone has any suggestions on different monitors, please let me know! I'd like to keep the total cost under $2,000 AUD. I will mainly be using them to play games like CSGO, Smite and some other games. Thanks guys

I have been looking for a specific monitor to fit my needs. 144hz, IPS, below 5ms response time with g-sync at 1440p and found 2 options. The Asus ROG Swift Pg270Q or the Acer Predator XB271HU. Both have the same specs. Both also have complaints about Backlight bleed, IPS glow, and (not as often) dead pixels. I have no idea what to buy since everyone is getting these problems. If anyone could give suggestions on why one is better than the other I am completely open.

I want to upgrade from my 1080P Samsung IPS monitor to a higher resolution monitor with a higher refresh rate. Monitor requires: - Must be 1440p or 4K - Must be seriously Less than $800 ($800 is the very max of what I'm willing to spend, but I expect to spend at least $400 obviously. $550 would be a great price point for me.) - Must be IPS (TN monitors will only be considered if you SERIOUSLY recommend it. I'm open to TN monitors but only if they are somehow undeniably incredible! I love color accuracy/amazing viewing angle, although I am using this monitor for gaming as well, so TN will be considered if it happens to be an exceptional buy) - Really hoping for a 144Hz monitor (although I can't find a 4k 144hz monitor, let alone a 4k 144 hz monitor that is also less than $800.) - Gotta be 28 inches or more (27 really doesn't cut it, since my current monitor is 28! Sorry, but this time size does matter! Unfortunately the ROG is only 27 inches which doesn't hit my proverbial "spot") - G-Sync is much preferable but not required The recommendation can be to buy now or to wait for later (although I'm foaming at the mouth rabidly to get an upgrade ASAP!) Thank you!! UPDATE: Is there an ROG Swift-type monitor that is 28 inches or more? ROG Swift is perfect, just too small !! More info: I have a GTX 780 Ti, considering updated to 980 Ti so I can get 144+ FPS at 1440p on Starcraft 2 (I currently get 100-250FPS with 780Ti on 1080p)

So, does anyone have an idea of when the 4K version of the Asus ROG Swift will be launched? While Linus already has a video of the monitor being shown on a trade show, it's been a few months since then and I was wondering if the launch is soon enough that waiting would be a viable option or do you think I should just go for the Acer XB280HK? Also, when Linus did his video, he said that a refresh rate of 60 Hz was confirmed but that they were still experimenting with it and trying to increase it. Does anyone have any idea about if that will be true because otherwise the Acer XB280HK, from what I know, provides all the same features that the 4K ROG Swift will so waiting becomes less appealing then. Or, do you think there will be some significant difference (I would hope so, given that they are releasing this more than six months after the Acer)? And, also, generally, should I go for a G-Sync monitor? Yes, I've read all about it but, still, I can get a 4K monitor with Freesync for around $550 today or even buy one for $500 (or less) without Variable Refresh Rate technology. Is spending $300-400 more on just one feature justified? Thanks!

Really interested in getting a 1440p monitor with a high refresh rate. I've seen the ASUS ROG Swift and the Acer Predator, and with the ASUS being $100 cheaper that seems like the clear choice. My question is, are there any other options, maybe from less mainstream manufacturers? Or are there any 4k monitors pushing high refresh rates yet? I'm planning this buy when I upgrade to a 980Ti.

So I'm coming up on a new monitor purchase now, and although the XB270HU is just starting to come out I think I still want last year's ROG Swift. Mainly because of much better looks (what were Acer THINKING when they put such a jaw dropping panel in exactly the same enclosure as monitors half the price?!), slimmer bezel and $130 off the cost of the new Acer. Have read that the TN panel is really a great one, and I've never had an IPS display so I suppose I won't really know what I'm missing out on anyway. Lots of people had poor experiences with the ROG Swift when it came out though though. Monitors dying after a few weeks etc. coupled with terrible RMA experiences. Since this monitor is quite a few months old now, does anyone know if its issues have been ironed out? What I've read online about crappy Swifts is the only thing stopping me from getting it now and holding out for the XB270HU.

I recently purchased the Asus ROG Swift monitor for my first build, but I'm not getting a signal. I haven't received my graphic card yet, so I'm connecting it to the DP port on my motherboard - Maximus VII Formula. Things I've tried: 1. There's nothing wrong with my new motherboard because I tried the HDMI cable and connected it to my TV, and it works and that's how I installed the OS. 2. Its not a damaged monitor, because I plugged the DP cable to my parents' all-in-one HP ProOne 400 PC and the display works. It probably has to do with some setting, so please help. I'm not really good with these things.

So here is the problem: A friend of mine rocks an mATX PC with 3-way SLI Gigabyte G1 Gaming 980s (i know it's dumb), an ROG Swift monitor, 5960x on a Rampage V Extreme with 16GB of Corsair Dominator Platinums, and 1 Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SSD. System was rocking flawlessly on windows 7 pro 64 bit until 1 week ago when my friend moved to his vacation home for a week. His PC worked fine, he moved it, started it and.....nothing. The system will boot to windows and will give a black screen after the welcome landing screen. It stays there indefinitely. The system did however boot in safe mode and he deleted the driver with DDU. This allowed him to boot normally and reinstall the driver. The problem came back immediately. We tried System Restore, the windows update driver, and reinstalling windows as a final measure. The problem is still here, except that on the new install he can't even get safe mode to work. The 980s are recognized in the BIOS and in safe mode (when it worked), but when u get the nvidia driver into play...... it craps itself. Since the 980s work, i'm starting to blame it on the nvidia g-sync scaler in the monitor. If u have idea, give them here, quickly. My friend is so frustrated he wants to sell this beast and get a PS4 + Macbook -.-

Hi guys On the weekend my ROG Swift's g-sync light is always on, even when I am just on desktop. Also the games I have G-SYNC turned off for in the NVIDIA Control Panel, now have the red light on when playing. I can only seem to get the red light turn white again when I untick 'Enable G-SYNC' in the NVIDIA Control Panel. However before the weekend the monitor worked fine with the red light only coming on for games I had enabled G-SYNC. Also when I was on desktop the red light would go off and my monitor would be in 'Normal' mode. This issue has now stopped me from using ULMB mode as the monitor is stuck in 'NVIDIA G-SYNC' mode, unless I disable in the control panel. I am running the latest NVIDIA driver which was released for GTA V. I found on the ROG forum someone mentioned that this is normal with the latest and it is supposed to be on now but when I contacted ASUS they didn't confirm this. They suggested selecting the reset option on the monitor and after I said about the driver they suggested to try installing the latest available driver directly from the developer excluding that specific patch. I'm a bit doubtful that this will work. I was wondering has anyone else with a ROG Swift been having this issue and whether they have been able to resolve it, or if this is due to the latest driver and it is supposed to happen? Thanks for reading my question any help is really appreciated.

Hi everyone, I was seriously considering the rog swift (I dont need IPS and in my country the acer xb270hu is heaps more expensive). However, reading through the reviews this monitor seems like a horror story. People are going through like 4 of these in one warranty, with reports of dead pixels, backlight bleed, vertical and horizontal lines appearing as well. What do you guys think? Would the build quality be any better in 2015? Has anyone here got one? Thanks guys.

Hello. I just got a new setup and i dont know which 1440p monitor to buy for it. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ww63Bm I feel that i really like 144hz gaming and after i tried it out for the first time and came home afterwards and sat in front of my 60hz display it felt so slow. But, i think i really want an ultrawide monitor. I currently got an eye on LG 34UM95 but its only 60hz. I think that my setup would not get the full potential of something like RoG Swift. Is my setup powerfull enough to get newest games maxed out 1440p @144hz? Which monitor do you think is better solution for gaming, RoG Swift or LG 34UM95? 3440x1440 @144Hz would be a dream but thats unreal for my GPUs to power IMO, even if we consider there is no such monitor. What monitor solution is the best for gaming with my GTX 970s in 2-Way SLI? Thank you for replying.

So i've been in the market for a new gaming monitor recently with around a 1k us dollar budget. at first i had my mind set on the ASUS ROG Swift 1440p monitor but as time went on i started looking at possibly getting 3 cheaper 27" 1080p monitors and doing a surround setup. I'd like to hear from the community on which direction you'd go as well as any suggestions(IPS, TN 144Hz. etc) and hopefully you can help me make up my mind!

So I recently got myself an Asus Rog Swift pg278q. After spending a day testing out G-Sync, I can't help but question whether theres something wrong with me, or the monitor. Every review I've seen of a G-Sync monitor praises its no-tearing and no-input lag capabilities. Unfortunately this does not seem to be the case with my new pg278q. First off let me say that this monitor is absolutely gorgeous. The price may even be worth it just for true 1440p @ 144hz. I've never seen anything like it. After I was done drooling over the refresh rate though, G-Sync really began to puzzle me. Setting it up via the Nvidia Control Panel was a breeze, but it doesn't seem to work nearly as flawlessly as advertised. Enabling G-Sync seems to be syncing screen refreshes with my in-game fps, just as it's supposed to be doing, but the input lag is horrid. Its completely unplayable at any framerate below 60, and a pain anywhere above. The input lag I'm experiencing with G-Sync feels almost as bad if not JUST AS BAD as enabling V-Sync. I'm sure G-Sync is actually enabled as the monitor has an indicator LED that changes color when G-Sync is active. I haven't heard of any other complaints even remotely similar to what I've been experiencing. If anyone has the pg278q, another G-Sync monitor with this issue, or a possible solution please respond. I'm currently at a loss.
