As I was connecting my audio mixer (powered off but connected to a different outlet) to my USB audio interface with 1/4" audio cables, one of the cables zapped me (more than regular static electricity but less than wall), burnt out the audio interface, and the USB port it was plugged into on my MoBo is no longer functional. All other ports still work. Is it safe to keep using? My PC stayed on the whole time, and displayed no errors. MoBo in question is a fairly new Rog Strix B550-A. I'm also confused why this happened, as it's a setup I've used before. USB interface, PC, and speakers were all powered on at the time. I figured it would be enough that the mixer was powered off.

Hi, I have been comparing gpus again and I noticed my asus rog strix 1070ti selling from $800 to $1700 lately. Question is why, I could sell this and buy a 2070, or better and upgrade my lga1155 board plus cpu. Should I ? What am I missing here.

Hi all, So I managed to get my hands on an RTX 3080 OC from Asus ROG. After installing in my system, I couldn't get the system to post. After first installing i would get the post code 97 (Console Output devices connect). I did some digging and found a couple people suggesting flashing the bios. After flashing the bios, I would get stuck at post code 62 (Installation of the PCH runtime services) The only I way i was ever able to post was by installing my old GPU. I've tried swapping RAM, swapping power rails on the PSU, reseating the card, different slots, forcing PCIe gen 3, flashing bios again to previous and latest revisions. Clearing CMOS via jumper pins AND battery. Computer Specs; Ryzen 9 3900X Gigabyte B550 Vision D (rev. 1.0) 32gb (4x8) GSkill Trident Z RGB 3600 CL18 Inland 2TB NVMe SSD Corsair rm750x 750W psu (potentially the problem?) Asus ROG Strix 3080 OC (new GPU) EVGA 2070 Super XC Ultra (old GPU) I have seen other threads citing underpowered PSU's, I've seen others citing DRAM issues (makes no sense), I've even seen some saying the gpu is just straight up dead. Thank you all in advance!!!!!!! EDIT: Forgot to mention clearing CMOS.

I have a ROG strix scar 15 (5900HX, RTX 3070). In nvidia performance overlay my fan speed is always shown as 0. But I can clearly hear them going.

Hi everyone! Anyone else here to plays New World who have a 30-series ROG STRIX graphics card? New World is like my main game currently, been playing it since release, with no issues at all. Both on my now RMA'd 3090 and my current 3080Ti. I do see the occasionally power spikes - like the GPU might go from 85% to 95% but I never see the spike go above the power limit, like it is shown in videos. I've been searching on the interwebz and I have only found 1 post about a ROG STRIX card dying from New World but there are many, many other posts about EVGA, Gigabyte, Zotac, and other cards that are dying. So my question is, if anyone else here plays New World and have a ROG STRIX card, have you ever seen the power spikes go above the powerlimit of the your graphics card?

I have had this MoBo installed on my PC now for about 3 months, and up until recently it hasn't had the white LED light up on the board. I did some looking and saw some people mentioning that it has something to do with VGA, but I use HDMI and DP for my monitors and haven't unplugged or changed the cables since installation. When I restart the PC it will flash red then orange like normal but then go off all together but then a good while after boot the white light will come on (I haven't yet determined the direct cause) and stay on. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you. See images for reference.

Hey everyone, Greetings from the Caribbean. My build: Motherboard - ROG STRIX B550-XE WIFI RAM - Corsair Vengeance PRO 32GB CPU - Ryzen 3700X Storage - Samsung 970 Pro 2TB NVME M.2 (Primary) Storage - Western Digital 2TB Hybrid HDD GPU - Radeon 7970 (I know...it's old compared to everything else) Case - Thermaltake 900D Completed a build a month ago and dug up the old 7970 to complete and use it last night. Booted up, installed a few updates and restarted twice with no issues. Then while listening to music, the system just went off and would only show a sign of life only after I restarted the surge protector and/or flicking the PSU switch on and off. There would be a half second reaction from the Wraith CPU Cooler then off again. So I began ze process of elmination and made a bench with the mobo box and: Unseated all cables and plugged them back as I went along. With/Without Ram. With/Without NVME and secondary HDD. With/Without Wraith Cooler. There are no Q-LEDs or beep code and I have not updated the bios. I am more leaning to a dead PSU and my mobo has her rgb so I am not sure if that could be an issue as well. I've done the short technique with the power header and the same results. No error lights and or sounds. Mobo has no burnt/swollen capacitors or burnt welds on the back. PSU still has that new smell too. There. I'd greatly appreciate any substancial assistance. I'm kinda bummed too...Thanks!

hi guys new pc builder here. i have a rog strix mobo b550-i, pure power 11 psu, trident z ram, samsung m.2, inwin sirius loop fans etc. i dont have a cpu or gpu as of yet saving for both. but i want to "test" the mobo and fans and make sure they light up and work. but after i install and wire everything and power on nothing happens. is this even possible without a cpu or gpu on this mobo? i dont know why, but i was under the impression that you didn't need those to power on the mobo for testing purposes. thanks in advance. i appreciate the time anyone takes to answer this for me. happy new year.

Strix Z690 D4 12900k 1-3080ti 16gb ddr4 4500 E cores disabled for more OC headroom on cache and ?memory? 7c14T (we don't talk about P-core5) ~All Core@5300mhz Cache@5100mhz Memory@4600mhz 18.20.20.44 Subs~auto populated Definitely seems more capable then 9th gen Core. I missed out on 10th and 11th gen intel.. intel really should advertise the performance w/ e cores disabled aswell, would make raptor lake a maybe,.. though I'll probably wait for post sapphire rapids, ~xeon~,depending on the cost To much a headache to have two sets of specs for one cpu perhaps,,,

As the title says, my monitor ROG Strix XG27AQ) has a very slightly loose casing on a section of the casing, and when I press, even lightly, near the section it always creaks, be it on the edge of the bottom bezel, the bottom part of the casing or on the back side of the panel (all them which are near the section). No other part of the monitor behaves like that. The other sections of the monitor creak like all monitors but only when swiveling or tilting and not the part where it is pressed. Can it cause problems down the line, especially while swiveling and pivoting? This a heavy monitor, that’s why I ask. Like an even loose casing or a crack? I know I’m being OCD, and maybe this is within manufacturing tolerances but still, it makes me a bit uneasy.

The variant I want has RTX 3060, Ryzen 7 6800H with 16 DDR5 RAM. However, I have heard that Strix G15 has many issues that limit the TGP and performance. Is it true?

I'm looking to upgrade my rig to run at 4k with smoother game play. I bought a GTX 1080 Founders Edition when they came out, and I was wondering if I could get the ASUS GTX 1080 ROG Strix OC Edition, which would have a higher boost clock and core clock, to do SLI. Is that possible? Would they be compatible?

Hey guys, so I'm doing some major upgrades to my PC and I've got all my parts except my 8700k which should hopefully ship soon. I'm sure many of you have heard about the Asus ROG Strix Z370 LLC issue and unfortunately I purchased mine before I found out about it. Asus hasn't come out and said anything about fixes or bios updates, so I'm not sure when that will come. I have a 14 day return policy at the store where I bought it and I'm about to hit 14 days. Should I return the board and just buy a different one or keep it and hope Asus fixes the issue soon (I'm sure it will get fixed eventually). If I do return it, i'm probably looking at the Gigabyte Aorus Gaming , but i'm open to other suggestions if you guys have some. Are the top end boards worth the extra money? (Gigabyte Aorus 7/Asus Maximus), I might be willing to shell out the extra money if they are because I plan to stick with this board/cpu for 4-5 years. Here are my specs in case it helps: CPU: I7-8700k CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken x62 Ram: 16GB G.Skill Trident 3000mhz GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 PSU: EVGA G3 850W Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix Z370??? Thanks!

Hi Guys! I noticed last week the compatibility checker at crucial.com included a 3200MHz DIMM for my Asus ROG Strix GL702VM laptop. I reached out chat support and asked if it was a mistake, but they told me it is indeed supported, so I bought a 2x8GB kit and it came today. Unfortunately, when I set the DIMMs in the slots, the computer won't boot at all, only a black screen. I can access the BIOS and validate it's recognizing the 16GB installed, but then it won't boot. Additionally, that BIOS screen, I can only reach it once, and then if I turn on the laptop I only get a black screen. Can't access the BIOS any more until I remove the MoBo battery and disconnect the battery. I did separate tests on each DIMM and slot, and no matter what combination I use it won't work. Ironically, if I use one of my old 16GB 2400MHz DIMMs with one of the new 3200MHz ones, the laptop starts and shows 24GB installed at 2400MHz (expected). In one of my attempts, I even managed to get a BSOD from Windows when trying to boot up, and it showed MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error. I researched a little and did a sfc scan and a dism restorehealth, and it actually found some issues and solve them, but I'm still stuck on same situation. Crucial support told me to do a BIOS firmware update, but I'm already at the latest level. Sadly a return is not an option for me, as I'm not at the US and had to pay a courier service to buy it (it's very expensive). Do you have any comment or hint for me to make this work? Thanks!

Hello. I've recently changed my Palit GeForce GTX 1070 Ti JetStream GPU (which was perfectly fine, i thought it was broken since it was a 2nd hand deal) with an ASUS RTX 2060 RoG OC. So basically, when I changed the fan speed of the Palit GTX 1070 Ti, the PC would make an electrical noise, and then it would shut down. As it may sound like, this is actually not coil whine, nor the GPU's fault, because THE EXACT SAME F@#%ING THING HAPPENED with the BRAND NEW Asus ROG STRIX RTX 2060!!!!!! And no, it's not the power supply, I've had 2 thus far (seasonic 750w platinum and coolermaster V1000 gold) which are perfectly fine. Damn, I've spent 130 euros on a PSU i thought was broken! I STRUGGLED WITH THIS PIECE OF S@#% FOR 3 MONTHS STRAIGHT, JUST TO WASTE 500 EUROS ON A PROBLEM THAT STILL EXISTS! Please, I need urgent help.

I recently built a computer with an ASUS Prime Z390-A motherboard and a 2060 ROG STRIX OC graphics card. The RGB was working and synced with card and the motherboard once built. Now the card rgb is off. The gpu appears in aura and says synced but now I'm stuck on how to trouble shoot and fix the issue.

GaminHello everyone, I am having the most odd experience in my tech career. This so happens to be with my personal rig. I just recently went from a RX590 to a GTX 2070 GPU in my rig. I did a fresh install of windows on my m.2 Samsung evo 970 but my OS will not boot unless my 2nd monitor which is my 4k vizio tv is not connected. Once I disconnect my TV which is connected by hdmi from the nvidia GPU, my OS will boot normally. But if I have it connected, it will ask for boot media. Installed all new drivers on everything since it's a fresh install on my ROG strix B450 F gaming mobo. My main monitor is an HP 25x freesync monitor. I use the TV as a secondary monitor for things like FFXIV maps and dealing with that GARBAGE corsair icue software. Weirdest thing I've ever seen.
