Hi guys, It's my first post here because I've struggled to find any answer anywhere else... So I have the Rival 600 which SS boasted/boasts to have the lowest lift-off distance of any mouse. I, however, have run into several problems with this mouse and its accompanying software. 1) When I lift my mouse up and down, the cursor moves about 0.5-0.75mm vertically on all settings of lift-off. 2) If I set the lowest lift-off distance in SteelSeries Engine 3 (latest version 3.17.6) after multiple restarts over a few days, the mouse no longer tracks as if the point of tracking is now too shallow. This is only remedied when I calibrate the mouse by holding down the DPI button. The tracking then returns, however, upon lift-off and returning the mouse to the surface, the vertical movement of the cursor returns. 3) When I calibrate the mouse on multiple mousepads for testing, it always seems to set it to a high lift-off distance. I've used a generic Amazon mousepad, a cloth razer gaming pad and and SteelSeries QcK+ pad, all with the same results. I have updated the drivers etc. so I know nothing is outdated... The problem is driving me insane; sometimes I turn on my PC and the mouse has no lift-off at all, I play games like CS:GO and everything feels the way it should... I turn it on the next day, the lift-off has reverted to high for some reason and I can't change it, I hop into a game and the cursor movement on lift-off and placing down the mouse is too much to play effectively... I have also used a SteelSeries 310 on the same system with the same issues. Any ideas/solutions. I only really play CS so I don't need a beast PC as I don't stream/edit videos etc. so it's pretty low-end after having it for 3yrs. SPECS: ASRockl B85M / i5 4460 / Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 8GB Thanks in advance guys!

I bough this mouse because I've read that it's sensor is one of the best but now I can only regret my decision because the cable is so stiff it's super annoying. You can feel the tension in the cable while moving the mouse and it's unbearable. It's the only issue I have with the mouse but it makes it completely unusable for me. I've tried taping it to stuff and trying different positions but nothing helps, you can still feel the tension while moving the mouse. Does anyone else have this problem with this mouse and is there a fix for a problem like this? Thanks for your answers.

Hi, I'm just wondering if someone could give me a little opinion on a rather unorthodox question I have. I am looking to upgrade my current mouse from the Gigabyte XM300 to either the SteelSeries Rival 310 or the Logitech G900. Usually, the price would be able to tell apart, but I am able to get the G900 new for around $90, where as the SteelSeries Rival is around $70. Price isn't too much of a concern here, I've held both mice and like the fact I can pick them up easily, and comfortably. But I have no experience with either while gaming, so I can't really tell. I just also haven't pulled the trigger on the Logitech because of the wireless aspect, is it really that good? It is the G900 and not the G903 so I don't know how much worse or better either one is, if much difference besides the powerplay which i'm, not interested in. I like to play FPS games and MOBA's at high skill levels, so the lag wouldn't be ideal if there is any. Sorry if this is an often asked question or just really out of the blue, but both these mice seem great and I just can't decide due to my inexperience. Thanks in advance.

Hi, i was wondering which one i should get. i have a fairly small to medium hand size (lenght 17 and width 9). I use claw grip when things get sweaty but my fingers are not extremly arched(they dont form a very high upside down "U" shape) they are more like the shape you see on fingertip grip styles. in rest like daily tasks i mostly palm grip or just let my hand fall on the mouse and sit comfy. They are both 25$ rn and i just can't decide. ALSO I use the side buttons A LOT so i would realy want them to feel good and have decent accesability.

sensei 310 vs rival 310? i currently have a logitech m185 which is about 4 years old and needs to be replaced. i am not sure which version of the 310 is better. according to the spec sheet, the are exactly the same and have the same price, so i dont know which to use. i have a sort of claw/palm hybrid grip (the main difference in the mice are the grip styles), so i cant really go either way. the sensei is made for claw grip styles, the rival is more like palm grip. pls help

I'm using the Roccat Tyon right now and the mouse is fine but I want to upgrade it and I can't decide between the three named in the title. I'm thinking of buying the: Roccat Kone AIMO because 2 of my friends own it, because of the ergonomic design, ofc the RGB lightning, because I already own a Roccat and because of the thumb tray. Corsair Glaive RGB because of the ICue software(RGB) (i could sync it with my future keyboard, the corsair k95 platinum, and my corsair fans and ram) and because of the thumb tray. SteelSeries Rival 600 because it is rated as the "best gaming mouse 2018" from many people, because of the design, the RGB lightning the weight system and the 2 sensors(normal + depth). They all cost around 60-80 bucks so the price is not the problem Important: I mainly play FPS games( like Rainbow Six) so they should be ergonomic, have RGB lightning + I sometimes play 15 hrs a day (don't worry not often) so they should have very nice comfort. Second Grip I use(Tyon): Main grip I use(Tyon): Thank you I like my drawing skills too Plz no other suggestions like Logitech or Razer PS: sorry for bad English (plz correct me if I made mistakes)

There is a portion of the USB cord that was chewed by my cat. I stripped the rubber and managed to fix the problem, being the white cord was pinched severely. I currently have it wrapped with electrical tape, but I'm concerned with the hazard it may pose. Could I replace the cord, or is the tape enough?

So my SteelSeries Rival has been falling apart for the last few months or so, I intended to send it to be replaced in February but shit got mad at University and my warranty expired by the time I wasn't busy using my PC for assignments. Anyway, I am looking into getting a decent mouse for gaming, preferably with at least two thumb buttons and this time with no rubber grip as if it goes anything like the Rival did, it will all rub off all over your desk leaving a horrible dent in your mouse. I tend to play a mixture of RPGs, FPS and MOBAs just so you know what kind of use it will get. I figured I'd ask here as you guys know quite a lot about what's good and not good. I was a bit of a SteelSeries fanboy when I bought my setup, so I didn't look into competing products because I'm an idiot. Any suggestions would be welcomed! https://imgur.com/gallery/d0JLp Cheers

Hello everyone! Im currently looking to downgrade my current logitech g303 for a SS Rival or a Sensei. I love the shape of the senseis but not sure if its still a good mouse to use? I like the g303 but getting bored of it and in need of something new. Senseis are on a sale right now at my local Best Buy, tagged at $37. The price is pretty attractive, but not sure if the mouse is still worth picking over g303. I mainly play csgo and tracking speed / accuracy is a must. Thanks!

So my Steelseries Kinzu V2 Pro died due to my error - I tangled the cable up and destroyed it in a bag, spilt crap all over it, dropped it.. this mouse has gone through hell. Since my birthday has just passed, I have a load of gift cards and have come down to 2 choices: - Steelseries Rival 100 - Logitech G303 ( I have really tiny hands, like REALLY small. Keep this in mind when recommending something ) The only gripe I have with the Rival is the 250DPI steps - I use my OS and play most games at 400DPI due to the Kinzu only having 4 x 400 DPI steps. Therefore I can't use 400DPi, instead forced to use 500. Whereas the G303 has 'one of the best sensors on the market' and supports 400DPI, but I have scares about it not having a good shape for me - and the sensor rattle issue that people are talking about seems to be a big deal. What do you think/recommend?

I've been looking for a mouse and it seems to be a tossup between these three. What would you recomend? I play mostly csgo and have a normal sized hand and use a hybrid grip. The rival and rival 300 seems to be pretty much the same but the rival is about $30 cheaper.

Hello guys and girls, a few months ago I got myself the steelseries rival after not being satisfied with the deathadder 3.5G(too light and flimsy,LOD too high, unsatisfying clicks). Now the moment I got it I felt it was a bit too big so I tried to return it but the scums wouldn't let me unless it was broken(I was tempted for a moment...). I endured it for 3 months now, did great actually: good clicks, no nonsense design, good grip and texture. However: lately I have been getting a horrible pain in the wrist of my mouse hand. Using the extensor muscles of my hand and wrist is very uncomfortable and borderline painful while using the mouse and now typing. So I am guessing this is due to the height of the mouse which brings my wrist in extenstion too much. So I definitely need a new mouse and I want it to be lower profile than the steelseries rival. I was thinking about logitech G402 or G502. I am leaning towards the latter because of the better sensor as I like FPS(borderlands, battlefield, bioshock, portal, metro far, cry,...) and towards the former for the simpler look. I am also considering the corsair sabre optical because it looks really low so it won't irritate my wrist and also pretty stylish looking aside from the corsair logo. Other info about me: I think I use a fingertip grip and I have fairly small hands, around 17 cm from base of hand to top of middlefinger. I am mainly looking for responses that are based on experience with the mice in question or people that did their homework properly or just helpful comments are welcome too Thanks for reading and trying helping me out in advance.

Hello everyone, I have a major problem that I cannot, for the life of me, fix. I own a SteelSeries Rival and the mouse is the best I've owned yet. However, I assign my bottom side mouse button as my Push-to-talk in TeamSpeak. Though, for some reason it also acts as the "back" button when browsing the web, or even browsing in Windows Explorer. The top button is "Forward", which I don't use as often but it is still a pain. I absolutely hate this. Why are these buttons double assigned like this? I just want the side mouse buttons to be a single key bind. I have checked the SteelSeries Interface to see if it was somehow configured in there. I uninstalled the drivers and software, deleted the AppData and started fresh, still didn't fix it. I can't find settings anywhere in Windows that binds this, nor in my internet browser. Please, can someone help me fix this? I can't find this anywhere on Google, and it is ABSOLUTELY FRUSTRATING      and has bothered me for months now. I have turned to you, LinusTechTips to save me from this annoyance. I will do whatever I have to, to fix this. I have also tried third party software to try and counteract this problem but it isn't ideal. Any ideas?

I love my G5, but it's getting old and I'm trying to get a new mouse. what mouse will best suit my needs. I want a mouse that is simple like the G5 and very comfortable. I don't want the G502 because it has too many buttons and I like the color of the G402 more.

Ok so after my G400 mouse was released in its box and lived freely with my hand, It started having problems with double clicking issue on my left mouse button after 3 years. I started a quest in search of a mouse that will replace my mouse ... well obviously. So after going around the Internet for many weeks I have lessened the choices to these: Steelseries Rival $67 Logitech G502 in my place costs $72 Corsair M45 $47 Razer Deathadder Chroma $71 I prefer Optical than Lasers. I am also a Low DPI player that mainly plays CSGO in 400 dpi and other FPS Games and use high dpi for desktop use/ Internet browsing. I put the M45 on the list because M45 uses PWM3310 sensor which is one of the best on market yet. Questions: Is it worth it to pay 23$ more to get Logitech G502 over M45? Is the Double Clicking issue already fixed on G502? I heard some people have issues with the Rival Mouse coating. Budget is from $40 to the price of G502 which is $72 I am also open for other mouse suggestions. Also thank you for taking the time to read my post. Please don't hesitate to comment for suggestions thanks!

So, which one will you choose?

Hi, Soon I will have my new gaming PC but, after hours of research I just cannot decide on a gaming mouse. I am 14 years old so I have small hands and it has been hard to find a good mouse which ticks all my boxes. I will play FPS games, RPG's such as Skyrim and Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor and general all-round games like Assassin's Creed, Alien: Isolation, etc. Here are the mice I have on my mind: Steelseries Rival Steelseries Sensei (RAW, as I am on a budget) Corsair Vengeance M65 Roccat Kone Pure I would've had the new Razer Deathadder Chroma but a lot of people say Razer products are overrated and poor quality, I have discarded it. Help??

Hi forums! I am conflicted again! I thought i was definitely gonna get the Rival, but the price for it was rising where i live(not too much but still). So i thought logitech g502 looks good, as I'm definitely getting the g710+(hopefully that doesn't change) and still using the mx518 However i saw pc gamer award the deathadder 2013 as the "best" mouse, and its priced in-between the rival and g502. So i like to hear your opinions on what i should get, i am mainly a claw grip, occasionally use fingertip grip. Also how is reliability of these mice? how is its lifespan, warranty e.t.c. Thanks!! Mike

So I got my birthday today and I'm planning on buying a new mouse. I play many games but Dota 2 most of the time, so i'd like at least 2 buttons on the side. Now i know there's DA2013 from Razer out there but just NO. The razer products i bought already gave me a cheap plastic feeling so i would prefer not to go that way. I'm planning to spend like 50-70 Euros so my best catches so far were the G500s and the Rival. I also considered the TTe Volos but could't find enough feedback. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
