I need some help...... I want to buy G.Skill 16 GB DDR4-3200 Kit memory, but there is no diffrence in two choices but GVKB and GVGB(see links). Hi, I bought the Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3200MHz ang tried to pair it to Gskill Ripjaw 2x8GB 3200MHz and I can't make it to work 100% stable. It is only working stable without XMP or with the speed of 2166MHz. Here's my specs: R7 2700x OC'ed to 4GHz RTX 2070 Super B450M Mortar Max 750Watts Sseasonic Focus Here's what I did so far: Changed the DRAM Voltage to 1.40 Changed the frequency from 3200MHz to 2800MHz Reseat all ram Memory Diagnostic (No issues found) BIOS reset XMP 1 and 2 The nearest configuration that it works for 1 hour without restarting is changing the DRAM voltage to 1.40 with the frequency 3000MHz, but when I remove the RAM, the kits are too hot. Hello so a while ago i bought a new pc. to be used as a vfx workstation. mainly using houdini and octane when 3070 comes out. also planning on some deep learning. in the meantime i got a serius headinjury and diden't realy have the time to properly troubleshoot it yet. so what i've tried first was buy a 750 ti and replace the ancient grafix card that was in there. This still diden't cause annything visable to be outputed to my screen. Specs. Planned os. arch or instantos. The powersuply is verry old i got it for free i hope that's where the issue lies. I put my ramsticks in the light gray slots not in the black ones. i'm scared to remove the cooling and accidentaly spill liquid metal on my motherboard. Also i fergot how to remove the whole nocturne cooling setup. do i have to remove the setup from the case? Should i continiou troubleshooting with the case removed. i have 16gb of ripjaws v @ 3200mhz but with my game play recording and video editing and certain games i often hit 11 to 14gb of ram if i have a number of apps running etc etc. i wish to upgrade to 32gb of ram, can i just buy another dual channel kit and add it to the system or do i have to buy 32gb dual channel kit and sell my 16gb. I have a Intel xeon x5675, and a msi x58a-gd45 motherboard. When I put 16GB of ram in it windows, and the system information screen in the bios only displays 10GB. But when I go to the ram tab in the bios it shows all 16GB, and CPUz shows 16GB. But windows, and windows programs only detect 10GB? I am using 4 crucial 2GB stick, and 2 4GB rip jaw sticks (ddr3). I have the B450-GAMING-PRO-CARBON-AC motherboard and was wonder if I would still get dual channel ram benefits if I mixed ram sizes 2x4gb with 2x8gb. I dont know if the modals matter but the 2x4 is G.skill ripjaws ddr4 3000mhz(F4-3000C15D-8GRBB) and the 2x8 is G.skill ripjaws ddr4 3000mhz(F4-3000C15D-16GRBB) CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2400G

So I currently have 1 stick of 2133 SODIMM DDR4 ram running in my i3 7100u Intel NUC. I am currently running just the one stick. My question is what are the requirement of running ram in dual channel ? Can I add the same model - 4GB version of this ram and run it in dual channel? So it would be 12 GB total with one 8GB stick and one 4GB stick. Or do I have to use the exact same 8gb version (16GB total) I currently have in order to have the full benefit of dual channel? tl;dr: Can I use different ram sizes for dual channel ? P.S., sorry if this was already covered on this site - couldn't find a straightforward answer.

Hi everyone, i'd like to share my experience or luck maybe? regarding Mixing Different brand, timing and clock RAM kits in x99 platform and the subpar 5820K Haswell-e memory controller. Following image speaks on its own: One 4x4GB kit of Ripjaws 2400Mhz 15-15-15-35 CL15 (working at 2133 Mhz for testing purposes). They are on Motherboards QVL. A1-B1-C1-D1 4x 4GB (non-kit, individual modules) Crucial Ballistix Sport 2400Mhz 16-16-16-39 (at 20-16-16-39 as "auto" settings on BIOS). They are NOT on motherboards QVL (but Crucial Site confirmed compatibility). A2-B2-C2-D2 If someone asked me if it was possible to have two kits working at different speeds and timings, with an ugly ass Haswell-E memory controller on the most picky platform for RAM compatibility (ASUS Sabertooth X99 bios 0291 old AF). I'd probably would have said. NOT IN A THOUSAND YEARS. (CPU is overclocked quite conservative at 4.0Ghz due to toasty summer room at 30ºC.) I didn't even know such diferences were tolerated. Googled almost an entire year to see if anybody had experience mixing such diferent RAM kits and modules. Nothing but "probably it won't work". Tried Kingston Fury black before, no luck. I guess sometimes is Trial and Error, with some mix of risk/benefit involved what brings joy. Hope this information helps someone in a similar position. Cheers!

So I'm looking to do my first upgrade on a 2014 build getting ready for fallout 4. First course of action is getting a new SSD (my last one is the 840 evo and it had issues - the whole nand thing. I tried to intall those fixes but my speeds are still suffering slightly). I'm planning on getting the 850 evo and formatting the 840 evo to then use as a gaming SSD (unless you guys had better recommendations on the SSD I should get / what I should use my 840 for). The second upgrade is going to my RAM and this is the heart of my questions. I know that generally the rule is to stick with the same RAM you already have in your system (PCpartpicker list below). Honestly It doesn't really matter to me just kinda curious if I could get away with using these ares sticks seeing as my build is black and orange. They have the same latency, timing and speed.
