G'day once again everyone. i have some more computer issues. recently I have been getting into a bit of sim racing and i have built myself a nice handy dandy little sim rig for it. i love using it with my oculus rift, however. there are some games that don't have vr support so i went ahead and found an old monitor and plugged it in for it. the problem is, now my oculus rift s doesn't display anything on its screen. it shows up in the oculus settings as aye ok, but. i do get a notification saying that my Rift s isn't working properly. is there a way i can have all 4 monitors plugged in an have the oculus work as well. Context. the sim ri monitor is being duplixated from my primary monitor. i have a 1070. display port 1 is primary monitor, display port 2 is secondary monitor, display port 3 is rift, HDMI is third monitor and dvid is 4th monitor. cheers if anyone knows anything about it. if not ill just have to ditch the 4th monitor unfortunately

Hey i am consideribg to buy a oculus rift dk2 for racing sim. Do anyone know if there is a way to make it work on windows 10 with a asus gtx 1660 super? I am looking for something cheap to just get the feel for vr. And i have hear the dk2 is a good place to start. But i also have heard you have to install old drivers for your gpu, and my gpu is fairly new so i don’t know how that will work out. so i would really apreciate some tips here.

Source here. It also reveals the estimated sales of the HTC Vive and the Occulus Rift, which stand at 420k and 240k respectively. This is incredible news, especially since the PC VR headsets seem to have stalled. Hopefully it means VR will continue to become more mainstream.

Hello People! My family and I have some interest in getting a VR headset. We are curious about the party games available on either platform. There is discussions all over this forum and other forums about pros vs cons but I have a few specific things I'm interested in, please provide input based on my questions below: **1-) What games are fun Party Games for each platform? Could you recommend one platform over the other based on Party Games (Something we want to be able to hang out together). Are there any Multiplayer games for people with 2 headsets that you could play with each other, are these online based or could you do a LAN gaming session? This is the main thing I am interested about. If you haven't tried both platforms but have some favorite games, then throw out some titles and reasons why you like it. 2-) In terms of quality how do the Rift VS Vive compare on these three things. -Quality of screen/Immersion (FOV?) -Controllers, which ones have people liked more? I've heard GREAT things about the Rift controllers. -Comfort of headset, I have a small form factor PC that I am going to turn into a Backpack PC so the Tether will NOT be an issue, but how about the rest of the feel.

I am looking to get either the rift with controllers or get the HTC Vive. My problem with the Vive is that there don't seem to be as many titles for it and with the oculus controllers coming out it may become more difficult to play them through the HTC Vive (yes you can play oculus games on the Vive). My problem with the oculus it that it uses an inferior tracking implementation. I also am looking to make my own content and it seems as though the vive is easier to develop for.

Buy Gear VR on Amazon: http://geni.us/UiB0GB Has the diminished experience of mobile VR killed its bigger brother on the PC? Is cost the only factor affecting purchasing decisions? The answer may not be so simple...

So this is probably a question asked a number of times, but as someone who has glasses and not a massive amount of room, is getting an Oculus Rift worth it? I've been sitting on the fence on updating my monitor to a 4K 27 inch display, but then realised that perhaps getting a Rift headset would do me better! I've not got a massive amount of room, but I've seen that the Rift has really small and nifty sensors, are they able to detect movement if they are simply placed on the desk in front of you? And in terms of the headset, for those with glasses, is it comfortable? Or did you find yourself needing to adapt without them? I do a lot of racing games mostly, so doesn't require much movement. Thanks guys

Hi Everyone, In the process of building a theory project. a VR arena for lack of a better term. The idea is to have at least 20 units set up with full VR and motion capabilities, using the HTC vive paired with the new Virtuex Omni gaming platforms. The thing I would need help on with this project is NETWORKING, I'm not the most literate when it comes to building a network were all 20 units can communicate with each other and play in the same severs for games like BattlefieldVR, Counter StrikeVR, and Others games of the sort. If anyone could help explain how I would go about networking all these units and also how I could separate certain units to play on their own away from the rest for separate games or parties that would be very helpful. Also any possible issue or bumps in the road that I might be able to prevent or be ready for when they happen would be greatly appreciated. This is a project going on in Colorado so if you are also in the Denver area and want to help explain locally please let me know. StadiumVR

I see the price of the Oculus Rift is now only $399 but I'm worried it's going to go up after summer. I'm planning to buy one at the end of the year because i'll get a VR-ready pc at that time. Anyone know anything?

I do not think that this is the right thread to ask this in but here I go Is the DK2 still relevant in the vr industry because I have come upon a listing of a DK2 headset for 150 bucks and I was wondering if it is a good deal or not and if it is still worth it to buy it or should I just save up for a cv1 instead because it has the touch controller and it is newer with a higher resolution and refresh rate. is it worth buying still My Specs, FX-8300 16 gb ddr3 2400mhz Gigabyte 990fx mobo EVGA GTX 980 classified kingpin EVGA 750 watt 80+titanium psu (if that matters)

https://www.kitguru.net/tech-news/featured-tech-news/matthew-wilson/oculus-to-launch-200-standalonewireless-rift-headset/ https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-07-13/facebook-said-to-plan-200-wireless-oculus-vr-headset-for-2018 Bloomberg are reporting that Facebook plans to release their standalone, wireless Oculus Rift headset in 2018 for the much lower price of $200. This seems to be 'heard on the grapevine' rumour information, as the article contains a lot of - 'a person familiar with the plans' sources. However, it seems a sensible suggestion that Facebook will be aiming around this price arena, which is not too far from Samsung's Gear pricing, however without the need for a $700 smartphone to power it. It is reported to be using a Snapdragon processor of some sort but no confirmation on that from Qualcomm. This seems to be an entertainment focused device, with suggestions that people will carry them for watching films on planes, much as you might with a tablet. For gaming, it will likely be more powerful than something like the GearVR, but obviously a far cry from the full PC VR experience of the current Rift. Importantly, it will not have the positional tracking technology. What do folks think about a $200 VR media consumption device? Could this slot into a gap in the market?

Why is there no forum specifically for VR? It seems like a must-have category for this site given the number of videos based around that topic on the LTT YouTube channel. Most VR questions get posted in General discussion and people who need support with their headset get lost. I know it would have been nice to have a community to go to when I was setting up my headset the first time. If there is a thread somewhere about this already feel free to remove this post but I couldn't find one.

Buy Oculus Touch controllers on Amazon: http://geni.us/A9DABsc Now that Oculus has FINALLY made the full Rift experience available for general consumers, it's time to determine who came out on top - Facebook or Valve?

I am looking to build a rig that will play Rift, War Thunder, World of Tanks, and Eve Online on max settings. Also most steam games like Prison Architect, Reassembly, Factorio, and others of that nature. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4kPRwV Also note that I chose the motherboard I did so that in the future I could move to an i5 6600k of i7 and OC if needed. I believe I have choosen pretty good parts. I am not worried about cheap as much as I am future expansion and longevity as I tend to keep computers for 5-8 years before replacing them.

According to Gfk's consumer survey the Playstation VR is set to outsell both the Vive and Rift combined, in the UK. Source: MCV This is great news for VR, and great news for sony. I think the way they managed to integrate more social features and even games where people can play on the screen against somebody wearing the headset really came through and helped them here. I'd be interested to see how psvr stacks up against the other headsets in other markets. I would imagine the picture is broadly the same as the uk.

I have an og oculus rift and have been using a widmovr lense adapter, does anyone know if there's a way to just remove the need for that at all, like an app I can run in the background or something with my prescription typed in?

So I have owned a Oculus Rift for about two years and I love it. My main issue with it is the way it leaves marks on your face and how it gets really uncomfortable after about an hour of play. Does anyone have any tips to make the headset more comfortable?

G'day. recently i got an Oculus Rift s and it was working flawlessly. i just celebrated my 18th birthday so i had some mates over. one of my friends was playing on my brand new rift s and suddenly the screen went black. and now when i try and use it. there is 3 dots (loading ellipses screen) in the display of the headstand. and when i go into my devices in the Oculus software. it says that my rift s is connected via a Usb 2.0 (which it is most definitely not) it was working fine and then just stopped. I've done the restart many times, I've uninstalled Oculus twice, I've restarted the PC many times, I've left my PC for a full day, and I've searched the internet for hours to no solution. Please help... this thing was expensive and I've already bought heaps of games for it.

Since my GPU only has 1 hdmi port I want to temporarily put my main output via the motherboard for integrated graphics and put my VR headset via my 1070. I have an aorus motherboard and when I plug the HDMI cable into my motherboard there is no output. would I need to enable this from somewhere? I have tried going into BIOS and did not see an option for this

The moment has come, I finally can comfortably afford a Vr headset. The problem is that the Vr scene now is tricky. I do have a powerfull computer so the "quest" and the "go" are no options for me. Then there are the Index and the Oculus Rift S. And considering the index is 1.000$ (600 more than the Rift S) the rift comes, all in all, in a very sweet spot for me to take a decision. Is, right now, the best Pc-Powered Vr for the price.... BUT! And this is the reason that I make the post. This is not my first rodeo when it comes to buy techonology. And I have a bit of a sixth sense to feel when a product is a bit out of the market. Facebook did not talk about it in their last meeting, it came a bit long ago so maybe something new is coming for the same price?... Yada yada yda. Anyhow. Would you go for it consdiering I´ve been waiting for this moment really long or would you wait cause, in fact, theres something better around the corner? Thanks!

Today, I became very happy as my brand new Rift got here, only to then realize that there's this big bed that's mine that's in the middle of the room that I have zero clue how to manage. My room is currently the only play space as I live in a small apartment, so if any of you have ideas on how to manage a large obstruction in VR or know a way I could minimise the footprint of it, please let me know.

Would you rather oculus rift on its minimum specs (1050ti and i3-6100) or rather an Oculus Quest? Just curious (Explain your arguments!)

I recently got an oculus rift. When it's plugged in and the oculus app is running, my internet speed dives down from 25/5 to around 3/5. Im thinking it could be because i have a 500 watt psu with a gtx 1070 ti and the rift may be taking too much power. This could be the case since my wifi is running through a usb dongle. Is there any way to check if this is the case? Or do you have any other ideas of what could be the problem? Thanks in advance
