So I bought a single color LED strip which is 5M long from a local shop. The man at the shop hooked it up to a 12V UPS battery, turned it on and showed to me to confirm its working. I brought it home, hooked it up to a 12V power adapter and turned it on. It worked but after 5 minutes the entire strip started flashing on and off. A quick google search said I might be overloading the power supply. Now im wondering what sort of power adapter I might need to power this strip as the packaging it came with doesnt state any of this information. I have attached a picture of the one im using now. Any suggestions to get this working will be very helpful. Thanks.

Summary Microsoft is looking to be incorporating integrated RGB lighting controls into Windows 11. The feature will allow you to adjust lighting effects for connected peripherals, accessories, and hardware directly in the Windows 11 Settings app. This was revealed in a recent Insider build. Where it shows a new section named “Lighting” listed under the Personalization area in Settings. Twitter user @albacore posted screenshots showing various RGB devices listed in the menu. Quotes My thoughts This is a very useful feature to have, if it ends up actually being added to Windows. I hope they expand the ability to control the RGB on other items too, like memory and GPUs. This is probably why it's an experimental feature currently, as it's probably hard to control all these various items through one seamless option (especially one integrated into the OS). I know there are some other RGB solutions out there like SignalRGB that allow to control different RGB products under one umbrella. If this level of functionality can be implemented in Windows 11, it will be highly convienent to many. I see one of the only downsides of this current implementation is that compared to say Corsair iCue, the customization options are much more limited. Although, this could possibly be addressed in future releases I'm sure. The Asian junk-export shadow economy has been RGB-ing its ride-on cars and other rip-offs to death since long before the LED revolution. But how did it work its way into serious PC gaming? My personal opinion is that it looks - well - cheap. I just cringe every time I see all that red, green and blue. Now white is a different story. I have three white LED fans in my case, an AIO water block with the Corsair logo back-lit in white, and even bought two sticks of white (not LED) RAM to go alongside the the two black modules. Were these components full RGB, I would probably tinker with a few other single colour schemes, but white looks the best in my opinion. So I'm not against the idea of modding a PC for ego as well as frame rates. I just don't get the rainbow circus thing, which seems to be the more dominant approach by far. What say you?

Hi hi have recently installed Corsair 3pack LL120 RGB Fans and they were working last night until this morning and only one RGB fan is laying up I followed the manual and it was working before and I double check the wiring to make sure nothing was put in wrong. Does anyone have a idea what I can do to fix it?

I hope I'm not breaking any rules here by hyperlinking, but I am looking to get my bits working together before I purchase them. Does anyone know? Thanks!

So. Bought some rgb 5050 strips, 15m of them. 10cm wide. I hook them up and they work perfectly!... for the first couple o' days. They begin to blink, but not the one from the receiver. I have them set in a rectangle shape, with the 4 pin connectors between them, as shown by my amazing art skillz. The first strip works fine, but the connector from 1 to 2 decided it only wanted to send teal to the rest of them. "I'll just swap connectors," I said, "no big deal." That didn't work. Tried re-setting the connection, it refused to work for any other color but teal. Has anybody got any hints here? I am legit at a loss here, I've tried everything I can. *UPDATE* Turns out, when I switch it to red, 2, 3 & 4 decided to not operate at all. Green is good though.

Becouse linus's ruguby chair. I decide I want to try control rgb led strip by use a Resbery pi. So this is what I have done I set up my pi to use a GPIO to send PWM, connect the pin to the bread board and to the color wire on my Led strip. The yellow wire connect to the Power or (postive?)on the controller. The controller is set to white. No matter what frequence I set and no matter what color I plug in, only like cuple led lights up and very dim. What could be wrong? Is there a very specific frequence those Led operating at?

Hello everyone, So back in 2016 I bought a 10m RGB strip pack with it's own controller and remote for lighting underneath my desk. My question is since I see linus using RGB lighting all the time, is there a way that I can cheaply use any more of my strip if I bought something to connect to the end of a strip to receive power? I'm doing a build for my dad and he wants some sort of lighting inside the case. Thanks in advance for the advice! =) EDIT: Preferably I would like to hook the strip to a CORSAIR Lighting Node, with the additional fans I'm gonna purchase for the build!

I own a MSI B350 Tomahawk and am trying to figure out the best way to control and sync my RGB strips, mouse, and fans. I tried using the Gaming app software with my RGB header but only got the most basic options for the strips so I have to wonder whether to switch to ASUS for Aura Sync or if there's another fix for this?

Building a new rig to replace my Metabox (Clevo) gaming laptop from 2011. I started off working on specs to run the HTC Vive nicely and keep me gaming at max settings on regular games for a good number of years to come. Then I got attracted to all the glowy lighting options and glass sided cases and ended up throwing an extra AUD$500 into making it look pretty. Parts were delivered yesterday, but I wasn't home to receive them, so I'm picking them up from the post office today. Won't have time to start building it until Sunday anyway though. Until then, I'm still trying to decide on fan and radiator configuration and placement within that case, so if anyone has advice on that aspect, feel free to jump in. Case comes with two 140mm fans (1 in front and 1 in back). Cooler comes with two 140mm fans for the radiator. Thinking of installing them on top of the radiator to pull air up through it and out the top of the case, but I'm open to having the radiator in the front instead if I need to for space or aesthetic reasons. Mobo and GPU both have ASUS Aura RGB lighting, so I was thinking I'd put the three 120mm Corsair RGB fans in the front of the case to give an even spread of lighting, or alternatively, put one of them at the back and only one or two of them at the front. I wonder if I can fit two 120mm and one 140mm fan into the front?

Right. So I'm having a strange problem with the RGB lit fans in my case. Story time: I just got a new Phanteks Enthoo Pro M SE PC case today and got everything transferred from my old case and hooked up. Everything looked great. I hooked up the RGB fans in the front and tried out the different setting using the controller button on the front of the case. Again, everything looked great, though I would have preferred to be able to control the lighting with my motherboard like the rest of the lighting in my case, so I tried hooking up the RGB cords to the LED C2 pins on my Aorus Pro Wifi motherboard and launched into RGB Fusion. After trying to play around with the settings and calibrating the lights with varied effects (I could change the color of the fan lights but it wouldn't correspond to what the app was trying to do) I tried to unplug the fan LEDs and discovered that I had messed up the lighting. Turning the LEDs off from the case controller button would change the lights to red instead of turning them off, and instead of the 10 colors that were supposed to show up I'd get a mix of greens, yellows and purples. Unplugging the lights wouldn't reset them and unplugging the power would also do nothing. I know it's my fault for trying to experiment with the RGB lighting in a way it wasn't meant to(especially since I knew beforehand the MoBo probably wasn't compatible) but I'm hoping there's some way I can reset the lights. Does anyone know if Phanteks has a way to reset/recalibrate their case lights and/or fan lights? P.S. the pic attached is the light that's supposed to be set to blue (I think...)

But what i dont understand is this RGB controller i believe that is included in the cooler master td500 case. However i dont see a way to change the colour and is connected internally. So what should i do buy a 1 in 3 rgb connector or use that??

Hey there, I am looking to put RBG lighting for my room (around the ceiling, bed, table). I am just looking to get opinions if anyone has done anything similar or has had experience with RGB lighting like this (how to wire around, number of power supplies needed or what type of lights). Please let me know

Hey there! Long time viewer of the channel here. Great content, lots to watch, and enjoy the shenanigans you all get up to. With that introduction out of the way, I had a question that I searched for but couldn't find an answer to anywhere, at least not one that answered my question(s). I'm currently waiting on all of the parts for my new rig to come in and I had an interesting thought. Before I get to the thought, a bit of background: The case I went for was the Cooler Master C700M with a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite Motherboard. I've done some research and found that the case lights can be controlled by the motherboard software but the thought I had was what if I could control external RGB lighting with that same software along with the case, motherboard, and everything connected to it--that way everything syncs together. What I've found is a few controllers that seem to add lighting to cases that don't have any, but nothing that outright says that it can sync up to external RGB lighting in a room with existing RGB controllers on a motherboard or even through USB with drivers/plugins/software etc. I'm wondering if anyone knows of something that I can use to do this. I'm looking into this because while I don't have a lot of people watching my streams, I figure a cool background with pulsing RGB lighting that matches the case and motherboard lighting would look pretty cool. Thanks in advance! Looking forward to your replies! (Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, if so, please direct me to the correct place, thanks ^_^) -Edge

<sarcasm> I was sold at "wire-free". You you think it would be worth it to get the "expert installation"? </sarcasm>

I found a post from 2017 that said you could not use anything other than Asus keyboards with Asus Aura Sync. Wondering if this is still true. Same question for RGB mice. Has anyone tried non-Asus products with Aura Sync recently?

Hello! I purchased an MM1000 and a Logitech G502. As I have literally just ordered them both on Amazon, I can cancel my order! I was wondering if the RGB coloring on the mouse will possibly be compatible with the RGB coloring of the mousemat. If not, I can cancel the MM1000 and get a Logitech Powerplay, but I was really looking forward to having wireless charging in the MM1000! -- Mismatched lighting really annoys me, thanks! --

Hi community! I am gonna buy a headset and what do you think should i get? the wired but cool G633 Artemis Spectrum with RGB or wireless but plain G533? I don't find anything special from wireless headsets (can be great for a phone that has no headphone jack), but I found that mixing audio signals would be a thing for me (2 sound inputs on G633 vs 1 sound input on G533) since i found myself using PC and Phone together. my phone has headphone jack tho the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note so i guess that is something, they both sound probably the same as they uses the pro g drivers that the G933 has so it mainly comes if i will go for RGB or convenience. So what are your thoghts on these headphones? I found both for $112 (weird tho) so i am not sure which to get. Thank you!

I just started using the phanteks p400 with my new build and I've seen other people with the rgb lighting on the bottom, and on the power button but I can't figure out why the button on the case isn't turning them on. I've checked inside to see if they were powered.

Is there a way to use the rgb led strips that cable mod has if my asus motherboard does not have the special rgb header that they are including on some of their motherboards? How were these Rgb lights controlled before the introduction of the rgb header? Can I just connect it to usb?

The damn thing is sold out on Newegg, NCIX, Amazon. The hype is real. So can anyone point me to any other online retail store that carries them? Or any local shops in the Northern California Bay Area that may carry the damn thing? Tried looking at Frys' online website, they only carry the old Hue (and why did the Microcenter in Santa Clara have to close *sad face*). Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers!
