How do I control the RGB fans on my P500A with software!
Nexblitzer posted a topic in Cases and Mods
Thats it! -
I've successfully installed my X73 on my motherboard, but the RGB led lighting isn't very bright, and I can't control it in software. I've got all the cables plugged I mean, for the lights to show up i'd have to of had them plugged in right??. Maybe i'm missing something? A different header perhaps, help please!

So to start; -MOBO: B450 Aorus M. --Its has two VD G - D_LED1/2 headers that from what I've read on my manual are set to 5v by default. ---From what i've read RGB Fusion 2.0 might have something to do with this? -Fans: (2) Bitspower Touchaqua Notos RGB 120mm -- [ https://www.microcenter.com/product/616730/bitspower-touchaqua-notos-rgb-120mm-case-fan ] The two fan plugs fit on the MOBOs headers but no lighting happens when the PC is powered on. Do I have the wrong fans? Am I installing something wrong? Do i need a header/controller for the fans to turn on? At this point im just completely lost and I just want a simple fan setup with one to be orange and one to be purple. Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi! So i recently build my first desktop, and i've stumbled across a problem with getting the rgb in my case fans to work... Prior to building i bought 2 NZXT AER 2 RGB Fans, to match the 2 NZXT case fans already installed in my case :) After getting the pc put together, i noticed that there wasnt an input for the rgb cables, leading from my 2 rgb fans? I tried plugging them directly into the rgb controller input on my motherboard, but it made a sort of screaming sound when booted, so i unplugged quickly! I googled around, and learned that i needed a NZXT Fan controller hub thingy, so i ordered one + 2 extra rgb fans, so that id have 4 ;) They showed up, i wired everything up and BOOM, 2 of them ligthing up like in attached pics (one of them lighting red in 2 sides, one of them blue) Now the logical explanation would be that i fried em, when they made the screaming sound BUT, the weird thing is, that its only one of the the ones that were screaming that is acting like this (The blue one), while the other screaming one (red one) is working perfectly fine? I've tried wiring them all different kinds of ways into the Fan controller, including completely disconnecting the 2 working ones, and just wiring the red/blue ones directly into the controller, but with same results. Also tried different configs with either of them being the direct connection, and the rest being "passthrougs", but all with same results... I've google around for days, but with no luck, so now im trying here... Are my fans just toast? (And if so WHY?! One of the ones not lighting correctly came like that out the box then?) Please help thx LINK TO MY BUILD ON PPP: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7tPfRT Link to the NZXT fan/rgb controller: https://www.nzxt.com/products/rgb-fan-controller -Alex

I plan on picking up the Vetroo V5 (white) which has one, PWM, ARGB fan. I also plan on buying this 6 pack of upHere RGB, non-PWM fans. I have an ASRock motherboard so I'd use their software to control the CPU fan's RGB. However, I'm worried the colors won't be similar. For example, say I set the CPU fan and memory to white (a specific shade). Then, I use the upHere remote controller and set those case fans to white. Will the color match or be similar enough that you can't notice a difference? Are there any solutions to this, such as an affordable 6-pack of white ARGB fans (that actually look good)? I'm probably just crazy as I'm a perfectionist but I really want everything to match and look good. Thanks!

I'm about to buy a AIO and some matching cooler master fans: AIO: Cooler Master MASTERLIQUID ML240L RGB V2 65.59 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (MLW-D24M-A18PC-R2) - PCPartPicker Fans: Cooler Master SickleFlow 62 CFM 120 mm Fan (MFX-B2DN-18NPA-R1) - PCPartPicker Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 AORUS ELITE V2 ATX AM4 Motherboard (B450 AORUS ELITE V2) - PCPartPicker And i'm having a hard time understanding the 'fan header' and 'RGB connections'. If i was to buy the fans and AIO linked above, would i have to buy something like this, ( Cooler Master Masterfan ARGB and PWM Controller Hub with 6x 4-Pin PWM Fan Ports and 6x 3-Pin ARGB Ports - Black - MFX-ZHHN-1NNN6-R1 : Amazon.com.au: Computers) to be able to control my RGB through software? And just to clarify, can the AIO pump be plugged into the 'CPU FAN' header to power it? Thank you so much! (all this pricing is in AUD btw) Scythe :D

Hi there so I’m currently building a pc for someone but I have run into my first hiccup. I had everything plugged into the motherboard ready to go so I switched it on and everything ran smoothly however, the lights on the 4 Corsair LL120 Fans (1 at the back and 3 front panel ones) did not come on at all and then I realised that there was no RGB header on the board at all :/. Is there an easy work around to this? I had a look at the Corsair fan hub/lighting pro but we do not care about being able to control the lights we just want them on. Please let me know if any solutions . I am running a Corsair spec delta RGB case and added an extra Corsair LL120 fan at the back.

The situation is a bit complicated, but long story short, the set of fans I've been trying to buy for weeks just went out of stock on Amazon and I don't know when they'll be back in stock. It's a set of 6 Uphere RGB PWM fans that come with an addressable RGB control hub. The most similar set of fans that's still in stock comes with the same addressable RGB features, but they aren't PWM controlled. That may sound like a deal breaker for some of you, but for me things are different. You see, I don't care how loud the system is as long as the volume is consistent. I hate it when my computer randomly suddenly starts spinning the fans super fast, because when the noise is consistent I can forget about it. When the noise keeps changing, I'm constantly reminded that the noise exists. So, all the fans in my system are currently running at 80% power, which is where they maxed out before on their old pwm behavior settings. With this setup, I barely notice the fans because they're constantly the same volume. So, if all my fans run at a constant speed anyway, do I really need a set of pwm controlled fans? Thanks.

Heya guys, Not sure if anyone was waiting for it, but the last time I heard, Lian-Li's new Unifan design was supposed to come out "Q2 2020." That was last reported in CES this january before COVID really took off over at their factory area. So I though, hey, why not send a message and see if they would tell me either an updated release window or maybe even a date. You can read the correspondence below, but spoiler alert, they said release window is now Q3 2020 and that they were at 100% at the factories. Message sent to them Hello, I have searched online about any information regarding the release date of your uni-fan concept last shown at CES 2020, and the last information heard was Q2 of 2020. Now that we are entering Q2, considering the increased impact of COVID-19 to most factories and distribution, is that still so? Also, if you are able to share at this time, a more narrow release window? Thank you kindly for your time and any information you are able to share. Sincerely, *REDACTED* ---------- Reply back from them Hello *REDACTED*, Uni-fan is the new product that will be launched in Q3 J Our factory in China affected by COVID-19 in Feb. But we already back to work with 100% capacity in the middle of March J Thanks! Best Regards, Sandy Chen TEL: *REDACTED* FAX: *REDACTED* Skype: *REDACTED* www.lian-li.com

So i've just bought the Enermax Liqmax RGB III 120, and it comes with an RGB fan, and the cooling compnent itself as rgb too. But my motherboard doesent have any RGB headers, so what can i do to make them actually light up? they come with these 4 pin connectors, and they don't seem to fit into all of the rgb fan controllers i can find online, so maybe you've got some suggestions, or do i have to buy a new motherboard? Thanks :)

Hello. I just bought a case with 3 rgb fans and I can't controll their speeds and they run at full speed and they are annoying and loud. I just read on the internet that I need to plug the 5v 3 pin cable into the motherboard to control fan speeds, but my motherboard doesn't have a 5v 3 pin connector and I couldn't find an adaptor on the internet (to 3 pins or 4 pins). Does that even exist? Or how should I control the fans' speeds? Btw my mobo is an MSI h81m-e34

Hey guys, Been planning a build that's going to include four RGB fans (MasterFan Pro 120's) and a PWM fan controller for the fans themselves, however I was wondering how many LEDs from these RBG fans (ie, how many RGB fan leads) can I run off of one RGB motherboard header? the B350M I'm planning on getting only has one RGB header, so I was wondering if I could just get a four-way 4 pin splitter to come off that single header and go to each of my fans' RGB connections. 1: Will there be enough power there? I kind of figure yes..? 2: Will the lighting work/be synced? As an aside, I went with these fans over the Corsair HD 120's because the Cooler Master fans can use my B350M's MSI lighting software along with the RGB RAM I'll have. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, I am having trouble trying to figure what motherboard I need in order to get full RGB functionality from my case fans and my computer case. The computer case i have is the AZZA INFERNO 310. This case comes with 2 AZZA HURRICANE RGB LITE RGB fans pre-installed. I additionally have purchased 3 more AZZA HURRICANE RGB LITE RGB fans for a total of 5 in my build. The manual for my AZZA case notes that it uses a 4-PIN RGB connector for connecting to your motherboard. It notes that you can control the fan colour and fan speed if you connect it to your motherboard's RGB header. The case also has RGB lighting on the front and side of the case too. The RGB connections for front and side are daisy-chained with the RGB connection for the fans (2 pre-installed one, 3 additionally installed one). Right now I have all RGB elements in my case connected to a HUB in the case which ONLY controls the colours. I want to be able to control my fan speed as well - which requires the use of a motherboard with an RGB header. My question is: What specific RGB header am I looking for in a motherboard if I want to be able to control the speed of the fans via software? Some motherboard like the Z390 M GAMING only come with one 4-PIN 12V RGB header while others like the Z390 AORUS PRO WIFI come with two 4-PIN 12V RGB headers AND two Digital LED strip headers How many headers do I need? Can I daisy-chain all the RGB elements in my case into one RGB header on a motherboard and still be able to control the speed of fans? If not, then would I need to plug the daisy-chained fans into one RGB header and then the other two RGB elements (daisy-chained as well) into another RGB header to get full functionality? Want to know what the cheapest motherboard I need to buy to be able to control all RGB elements and fans speed via software. Sorry for confusing post. Can clarify anything if needed. Hi all, I'm browsing the market for lower-shelf RGB fans. I'm bitch for silent computing, so that's the bottom line. I don't really care for addressable RGB, as I prefer static lighting anyway. Currently on my radar I have Deepcool and Aerocool P7 RGB fans. Does anyone have any experience with either of those? Also, I'm running a Z97 Asus mobo with no RGB headers whatsoever, so a hub, preferrably software controlled is a must, hence I'm leaning towards Aerocool P7, as Deepcool doesn't have a decent one. Don't want to go for super-cheap stuff like EZDIY, Aigo or Asiahorse (that is unless we have someone who is super fond of them and can convince me otherwise), as I've heard that they're on the noisy side. So to sum things up: - RGB, - Silent (PWM?), - Hub included (software controlled is nice 2 have).

Right. So I'm having a strange problem with the RGB lit fans in my case. Story time: I just got a new Phanteks Enthoo Pro M SE PC case today and got everything transferred from my old case and hooked up. Everything looked great. I hooked up the RGB fans in the front and tried out the different setting using the controller button on the front of the case. Again, everything looked great, though I would have preferred to be able to control the lighting with my motherboard like the rest of the lighting in my case, so I tried hooking up the RGB cords to the LED C2 pins on my Aorus Pro Wifi motherboard and launched into RGB Fusion. After trying to play around with the settings and calibrating the lights with varied effects (I could change the color of the fan lights but it wouldn't correspond to what the app was trying to do) I tried to unplug the fan LEDs and discovered that I had messed up the lighting. Turning the LEDs off from the case controller button would change the lights to red instead of turning them off, and instead of the 10 colors that were supposed to show up I'd get a mix of greens, yellows and purples. Unplugging the lights wouldn't reset them and unplugging the power would also do nothing. I know it's my fault for trying to experiment with the RGB lighting in a way it wasn't meant to(especially since I knew beforehand the MoBo probably wasn't compatible) but I'm hoping there's some way I can reset the lights. Does anyone know if Phanteks has a way to reset/recalibrate their case lights and/or fan lights? P.S. the pic attached is the light that's supposed to be set to blue (I think...)

Hello. I am looking into buying a motherboard with 6 fans (RGB). The current case I have is an InWin 101. In summary, I am looking for a good/great motherboard with good/great RGB fans. - My budget is not so limited. - Hopefully not too loud? I also do not understand how one "4 RGB fan splitter" on a motherboard can change or manage 6 fans? Thanks for the help.

Hello, I'm new to this forum but have a burning question, I have bought the Thermal-take 12 rgb non-premium or plus edition. Once opening the package and installing them, I found the controller had an extra 5-pin header. It was not a fan or power in header as those were already plugged in. Does anyone on this forum have a clue as to what it is?

Anyone used these fans? Just wondering are they any good for radiators? Or for m-itx case fans in tight spaces?

I'm gonna be ripping out all my watercooling and moving my PC into another case for air cooling and I want some suggestions for airflow config. I'm going to be using the Lian Li O11 Dynamic and I know that I'm definitely going to have 3 intake on the bottom and 3 exhaust on the top, but I'm not sure about the side setup. So at first I was going to have a 360 AIO on the side and pull intake but I realized that my LL120 fans will be facing away which I don't want because the fans in that position are the most visible. Instead I'm deciding to do AIO and push exhaust on the side so that I could still have the AIO on the side and show the nice side of the fans. In THIS part of HardwareCanucks' "9 fans in O11 Dynamic" video, the difference between using exhaust and intake for the side AIO isn't much of a difference so I think this will be okay. Also, since the bottom fans of the case will be blowing straight into the GPU, would it be a smart decision to vertical mount the GPU so that the air could get past? Basically I want to know if my fan config idea is a good setup, and if vertical mounting would be a good idea here. All help is much appreciated :).

So what my problem is that basically when I turn off my computer, the rgb fans don't seem to remember it's color. When I turn my pc back on the rgb color is set to its default color. Do you guys have any idea of what's going on? Thanks in advanced! :)

I bought these new case fans for my setup. The Gamdias Aeolus 1204r, is there any software for the fans and cpu liquid cooler also gamdias. I tried to understand the manual but there is no details, pictures and directions wise. It has aura sync so it's compatible with my Asus, in here lies the first issue. My mother board's RGB Header has 4 pins but the one that is on the cables for the fans controller box, it had 3 ???in that sequence, so please suggestions on how to fix this issue. After I set up everything, I booted up, they run and light up but they controlled by the remote with the effects and such. They both dont want to work at all, any ideas or tips???

Hi, I am buying a new case for my current setup because I have had it for about 4 years and the thermals aren't that amazing so i'm buying the new h700 case from NZXT. Since I already have aura sync PC components I want to buy some Aura sync case fans. Now the easy answer you may be thinking is oh NZXT makes RGB fans. Well unfortunately they are not aura sync compatible. I also know about the the partners page on Asus's website. https://www.asus.com/campaign/aura/us/Partners-and-promotions.html Basically i'm looking for a good looking fan that also has good cooling and I want somebody's input not just numbers. (Money is not an issue) I need 120mm and 140mm. Thanks!
