1. today, my computer decided to restart 3 times already with no warning, i went to look into minidump to see if there was a crash log or anything but found nothing. the only thing i can find is in event viewer and it dont say much other than it being a kernal power problem and maybe an overheating issue? i checked my cpu temps and they are fine even looked at the cpu temps log and they looked fine before restart. system specs: CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K MOTHERBOARD: MSI MPG Z690 CARBON WIFI CPU COOLER: DeepCool LS720 360mm Radiator GPU: MSI 3080 Ti GAMING X TRIO RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series (Intel XMP 3.0) DDR5 RAM 64GB (2x32GB) 6400MT/s CL32-39-39-102 1.40V PSU: Seasonic - FOCUS GX-850, 850W 80+ Gold PSU
2. Title: Frequent Crashes and Restarts during Gaming – Seeking Expert Advice Post: Hello fellow tech enthusiasts, I'm reaching out to the Linus Tech Tips community in search of some expert advice to help me diagnose and resolve a persistent issue with my gaming PC. I've tried several troubleshooting steps, including replacing my AIO cooler, but the problem continues to elude me. Here's a detailed breakdown of my situation: System Specifications: CPU AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Motherboard ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Hero RAM G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB Series (AMD Expo) 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000 CL30-38-38-96 1.35V GPU RTX 4090 SUPRIM X 24G Case HYTE Y60 Storage SABRENT 2TB Rocket 4 Plus PSU ASUS ROG Thor 1000W Platinum II Display(s) ASUS ROG Swift 41.5” 4K OLED Gaming Monitor (PG42UQ) Cooling Was Fractal Lumen S36, just replaced with Ryujin III 360 AIO. BIOS BIOS 1709 (Most current, I've updated every time since I got PC back in July hoping for a fix). The Issue: I've been encountering frequent crashes and restarts during gaming sessions, particularly during extended gaming (3-4 hours). The crashes are often accompanied by system shutdowns, where only motherboard and RAM lights remain on. The only way to turn the PC back on is by flipping the I/O switch on the back of the PSU. Steps Taken So Far: Replaced AIO Cooler: I initially suspected cooling issues and replaced my AIO cooler with a new one. This improved idle temperatures, but the crashes persist. XMP and Curve Optimizer: I've tried running my system with XMP and Curve Optimizer settings enabled, as well as with optimized defaults. Crashes occurred in both scenarios. Monitoring Tools: I've been using HWINFO to monitor system parameters, but nothing glaringly out of the ordinary stands out during crashes. Software Updates: I regularly update my software and drivers to ensure compatibility and stability. Stress Testing: I've run stress tests like Prime95 and Cinebench R23, as well as benchmarks like Time Spy and Core Cycler. While the system seems stable in most tests, it crashes during a specific one (e.g., SHA3 test AIDA64 > Benchmarks > CPU SHA3, the one that last only a 30 seconds or so) instantly as soon as I run it the computer just goes black and restarts (not the motherboard and lights issue. Additional Information: I've checked PSU voltages with HWINFO, and they appear to be within normal ranges. (The 3.3+, 5V and 12V under motherboard I mean). I've monitored GPU temperatures during various workloads and gaming sessions, and they remain reasonable. I feel GPU is least likely to be the issue, but I could be wrong. I also thought it may be my simulated sinewave 1500VA 900W APC Back-UPS XS 1500M since it constantly reads 123-125V when it should be 120V so I literally just ordered the Tripp Lite gaming one. But it never had issues on my old PC and Ive only had it about a year. So I think I may have just wasted my money. Warranty replacements on parts take so long and I need my PC for work. I don't have time to wait, so I cannot keep dropping money. Request for Help: I'm at a loss regarding the root cause of these crashes, and I'm looking for expert advice to help me diagnose and resolve this issue. Your insights, suggestions, or potential next steps would be greatly appreciated. I've tried to be as thorough as possible in describing my problem, but if there's any specific information or logs you need to help me further, please let me know. Thank you in advance for your assistance, and I look forward to any insights you can provide.
3. At first I thought that it was when my pc was drawing too much power but just now it happened when I was just watching a stream with a single chrome tab opened. I've looked at event viewer and the System events right before the crash do not seem (from my research) to be the culprits (Event 10010, Event 37, 3x Event 10016, Event 16). Event 16 was the last one before the little lapse of time before my pc had finished restarting. It might be my power supply but I've played much more demanding games on my pc and everything was going fine. Thank you
4. Hello everyone, i build the PC myself. My specs: Ryzen 2700X Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro (No WIfi) GSKILL DDR4 3200 MHz 32 GB (No XMP activated) Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB Gigabyte Aorus 5700 XT Be quiet ! 650W PSU (dont know the exact model) Windows Version 20H2 (Build 19042.631) After about 1 year, I am encountering the weird behavior, that the computer randomly restarts itself. I do not get bluescreens or anything like that, I think it just power cycles. It does not matter what I am doing, reading a PDF or gaming. I ran Prime 95 and Furmark parallely multiple times for about 40 minutes and it did not crash. While it ran Prime95 and Furmark I checked HWMonitor for thermals and power issues, the CPU did not run hotter than 85°C but GPU memory temp was 103°C. However, i did not get any weird behavior or graphic artifacts. On other times I play an arbitrary game or browse the web or read a PDF and it restarts itself. What i already tried to solve the issues, in this order: Ran tests to verify that Windows installation is working properly. Reinstalled Windows. Bought new SSD (the one mentioned above). Reinstalled Windows. Set minimum power usage of CPU to 5% in the energy options. Installed new chipset drivers for CPU. Installed new drivers for GPU. Updated BIOs to newest version. Unplugged PC from power and other external hardware. Held power button for 60 seconds. Reseatted RAM and GPU. I tried finding errors listed in Windowds eventlogs. However, i cannot find the exact log, that tells me whats wrong. I checked a few log and goggled the error codes but could not find a solution. I do not know a lot about trouble shooting and where or how these logs are stored and how i could share them with you. I hope someone knows somehting about this issue or can help me somehow.
5. So I was playing osu!, it's a rythm game, then pc froze like 1-5 secs, then restarted on itself, this is what event viewer gave me, btw three of them varies by their Processor APIC ID, and please give me specified info cuz im new to pc building and this is my first build, and clearly its not overheatng, right? Last thing I did was turning on OBS studio to record my gameplay and tried to disable display capture, then played the game like 1-2mins then boom the problem occured! Thanks for the help btw! 7. 1. Please tell us your current hardware: (Please actually list here and do not refer to signature as some do not see it and hardware changes). The more detailed and better you describe your problem, the better we can help you (e.g. additional pictures could be helpful): During the operation of the PC, there are often random reboots without error messages. What steps have you already taken / tried to solve the problem and what did it do? Had a BeQuiet System Power 9 500W before that that I swapped for a Pure Power 11 500W and then with the RM 750x to rule out the PSU. Ran MemTest86 over it several times and updated the bios. Ran some benchmarks to check the temperatures. MIt the temps all fine in some scenes up to 90 degrees in the hotspot, should be fine though. In some benchmarks I encountered the same problem. The graphics drivers several times reinstalled I have also. I also changed the power saving plan and disabled restart on errors in the advanced settings. Have also reinstalled Windows several times, all to no result. Through this info it can only be the motherboard, CPU, GPU or SSD.
8. Hi, first some info about my build. AMD Ryzen R7 1700 16GB (8x2) Kingston (2133) AB350M-D3H Gigabyte Motherboard Zotac RTX 2060 (6 GB) Corsair VS 550 80+ Bronze From last week My PC started restarting randomly while anything resource intensive. And the restarts were instantaneous, that would ideally mean the power supply is not the issue. I went through the usual checkups for overheating, resetting the BIOS, etc. Finally I tried checking the RAM, when I tried both the sticks individually and they work fine and there is no restart, but when I have them both installed the PC restarts. At this point I am not sure if this is a RAM issue or my motherboard, maybe the motherboard is not able to provide the proper voltages to both sticks at once? I have read a few posts saying that an improperly seated CPU also may cause this, but I doubt that is the case as I have been using the PC for a while without any issues. Note: I have never tried overclocking the CPU or RAM at any point of time.
9. After updating to Win11, my PC has suddenly started to do reboots roughly 1-5 minutes after bootup. Note that these do not involve bluescreens. This issue only started after updating to Win11. Attached are event logs. Please advise. logs.txt
10. Pc was running fine a week ago then after Gaming for 3ish hours pc restarted and now keeps randomly restarting and I don't know what to do anymore. Prebuilt and warranty is ended. Tried updating chipset and bios. Reset everything to default in bios. Switched os to Linux pop from windows thinking it was software. Tested gpu nothing wrong, tested cpu as soon as I hit enter to run stress test (glmark2) pc restarted (temp idle was 45c) so I don't know if its cpu or just the random restart. Reseated everything and checked wires. Added new thermal paste. Uninstalled apps I thought might be causing issues. Purchased a brand new psu. Did a windows mem test no errors (When I had windows) event viewer showed kernel 41. It's not my home outlets or power (tested at friends house in a different town) Just don't know what to do anymore and I feel like I'm out 3 grand now. 11. (I am reposting this because the first time I got very few replies to no avail) Hello fellow computer enthusiasts! I've been having some VERY intermittent problems with my computer for awhile now. Maybe someone could point me in the right direction. SOOOOO let me rewind to probably a year ago. My computer was running the same hardware it is now. I had a 5700 XT thicc III ultra and had just upgraded from the ryzen 5 1600x to a ryzen 7 3700x. All was good and this was about the time call of duty cold war was the newest COD and I was playing with my friend on zombies a lot. I was overclocked to about 4.2 ghz I had some hyperx ram that I had XMP on and was running 3200 mhz (which is what they are rated for) and it ran like this for about 6 months no issues. I started to get some random driver crashes (probably thanks to radeons amazing drivers :)) but I was able to keep these crashes to a minimum and I diddnt mind too much. THEN I started getting hard restarts on my computer. It was always when I was playing games. They got more and more frequent and I knew there was some kind of problem. No blue screen or anything just black screen and my computer rebooted. I tried a few things to fix this and nothing worked until I brought all my hardware back to stock speeds. At that point, it seemed like my computer was back to normal. This blew my mind as to why it had been stable for months and then the clock speeds somehow made them unstable. For a while, this worked. I was playing games like normal but the crashes came back after some time. I COULD NOT RECREATE THESE CRASHES BY DOING ANY STRESS TESTING SUCH AS CINEBENCH OR 3D MARK. Recently, I ended up guessing and throwing some memory sticks at it that were more amd optimized. (Hyperx 3600mhz)- This was an upgrade from my old ram and I figured it might help even though my hyperx ram checked out on memtest86. I did XMP on the new ram and kept everything pretty much the same except I did also update my bios around that time. The system felt a hell of a lot snappier even without the XMP and I figured I fixed my issues but nope. After trying to play halo infinite (which is the game ive had the most crashes on) I got another restart. Since then, ive troubleshot a lot of things. My drives are fine Ive disabled legacy support in favor of UEFI Ive returned my ram to its base clock I disabled the auto overclocking on my motherboard which suddenly appeared after updating the bios Ive reinstalled windows 10 to reset the registry and even got a key from g2a for more configuration and options such as not using powershell I had a crash 2 nights ago when playing gamepass games but then it was fine after reboot. Last night I played halo infinite with no restarts or crashes so WTF What am I missing here? Here's a few random crazy ideas/ thoughts about it: Can a bad psu cause these intermittent restarts? My psu is well overrated for my hardware Is the motherboard too dated to support the hardware? Is my cpu faulty? Why would the stability of the computer deteriorate so rapidly and randomly? Keep in mind it is not due to temps (all are very well cool) The minidump and crash reports are empty.
12. Hi All. Huge thank you in advance for anyone taking a look at this and helping out. Short Version: When gaming my system will restart (power does not completely cut). Usually I get a frozen screen that goes pixilated, and and then my system restarts. No error messages. OR I'll crash and get the WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR message. Both happen while gaming. What I've Done: Updated bios to latest version Latest windows 10 updates Latest GPU driver udpates trying monitored temps (see below) Uninstalled MSI Dragon Center Formatted system and fresh install of windows 10 Set bios to default (except I have XMP on and custom fan curve settings) Reduced Memory Speed to 3400hz, then 3200hz Removed 2 of 4 memory sticks (then swapped 2 of the memory sticks I took out with the ones that were in the system) System Specs AMD Ryzen 5900x (no overclock) - Bought at beginning NZXT Kraken X73 Liquid Cooler Nvidia RTX 3090 FE - Bought 1 month ago MSI X570 Tomahawk - Bought in Nov 2020 Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) C18 - Bought in Dec 2020 Samsung 850 Pro 256 SSD - Bought around 2016 Samsung 850 EVO 500 SSD - Bought around 2016 Corsair HX1000i Platinum PSU (refurbished) - Warranty Exchange in Oct 2020 Windows 10 (fresh format and install about 3 weeks ago, I had problems prior too) x64 dmp files & System Diagnosis files here. I'm not sure if I got the system Diagnostic Report files correctly, so let me know if there are problems and I can try again. Temps I used hwmonitor to check my temps, but I would do it by alt+tabing over from my game to occasionally check it. So I don’t know the exact temps at the time of crashing/restart. cpu: most of the time it was 68-72 but I never saw it higher than 75 Gpu: most of the time right at 68, but I didn’t see it higher than 70 Detailed Version: My system is fairly newly built and I wasn't experiencing any problems for the first few months. Then I started crashing with the WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR message. It was always while gaming and at first it was after an hour or longer then it got worse and happened in 30 minutes or less, unless I shut my system off and came back to it later and then I could usually game over an hour without an issue. The change that I had made when this started happening was that i updated my bios to the latest version (not in beta) and that is when I started having the issue. So I rolled back my bios and the issue went away for several weeks. Then I noticed I started having the same issue again and this time the change I made that I thought may have caused it was updating the MSI Dragon Center. I started reading that a lot people were getting problems with dragon center. So I uninstalled it, and the issue went away for several weeks. Then it started happening again. This time I couldn't figure out why. So I just formatted my system entirely, reinstalled Windows 10 and started fresh. I didn't have problems for a few weeks, but then I started freezing in the middle of games followed by a restart. I didn't have dragon center installed so I knew that wasn't it and I just did a fresh format and install of windows 10. I ignored it for a while because it was fairly infrequent and I guess I just didn't want to deal with it. Today I got a sudden restart while gaming with the WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR message. So the next steps I took were updating my MB bios to the latest version (which was a newer version that the version I had before I rolled back before) and also making sure my GPU drivers and Windows had the latest updates. I started gaming again and after maybe 45 minutes I got the WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR message again. I let my system restart and then I jumped back into gaming and I got the message again after about 15 minutes. So it seems to be getting worse. I'm not really sure what is going on at this point. I read something about checking of the events in event view in windows computer management. I did find a few things that make me think there is a problem with my processor. I'll post them here to get others opinions on it. Here are the links to my screen shots. https://imgbox.com/tKjxTbd2# https://imgbox.com/x2FzHoVf One other thought I had that I wanted to share and get thoughts on. my MB has 2 plugins for power, and 8 pin and an extra 4 pin. From what I read the 4 pin wasn't necessary unless you were overclocking, which i'm not at the moment. So I don't have the 4 pin plugged in, but I'm wondering, could that be the issue?
13. So I play a lot of games on my PC(Pillars of, WoW, Shadow of War), During a game called Zero Hour my PC will randomly restart. I've cleaned it, Upgraded the PSU and monitored the heat which never goes above 54C. I've even checked how the processor is being used with Core Temp. I use a R3600x RX580 16gb ram with a 650w power supply.

I can only play siege (R6) in training mode. The board will crash if I launch Apex Legends. A little red light abruptly comes on and the restart process begins. We originally thought it was because my old pre-built had an illegitimate version of windows that he stole from our school. But I've bought my own product key now, implemented that annnnnd it still crashes...i honestly dont what to do and i miss streaming with the bois, can anyone please help?
15. Hi, I've been having this issue where my PC "crashes" and immediately restarts when playing games, causing the GPU fans to start blaring at max speed. Sometimes they'll slow down and the system will restart normally, and other times they'll just stay on and I'll have to hold the power button down to shut down and turn on my PC like normal. In all cases, it appears as if the PC loses power first, immediately tries to restart, and GPU fans blare. ADDITIONALLY, my PC periodically makes a clicking sound, the exact same sound that plays when shutting down/ losing power. I found this thread: I thought I had struck gold. While my GPU wasn't inherently overheating, many had the same issue fixed without any overheating notices. I replaced the thermal compound in my GPU, and for the rest of the day there were no crashes. Next day, lo and behold, more crashing. I believe the only commonality between crashes is that I'm playing a game which leads me to believe this is a GPU issue. While the games I play aren't the easiest to run, they are FAR from being able to overwhelm a 1050ti. However, the randomly power clicking sound leads me to believe this may be a PSU issue. I've seen others with this issue who could still hear their applications in the background, ie purely a GPU issue. Everything restarts in my case, the best I could describe it as if my PC loses all power for a split second, and then restarts with GPU fans at max speed. I have a 600W power supply so I don't think there is an inherent lack of power. Event Viewer identifies these Critical Errors as a Kernel Power Errors if that helps. I'm honestly at a loss. If it comes down to replacing a part, I might as well build a new PC, since the rest of the components aren't that great and the whole thing is a bit old. Any help appreciated, thanks.
16. I recently upgraded from 970 SLI to a Gigabyte 3070 and have been running into pc restarting issues. I have no problem running Cyberpunk at 144hz at Ultra settings, Yet I cant run simple games like Valorant and CSGO. I can launch Valorant but as soon as I enter the "Career" panel or go into the shooting range it restarts my pc. I can also launch CSGO fine but about 10 mins into a game it restarts. I have not overclocked my GPU or CPU. I have both enabled and disabled XMP profiles for my ram but issue still continues. I've attempted to run Heaven 4.0 but that restarts my computer after my GPU reaches 82% usage (about 10 seconds into the stress test). I've ran Cinebench R23 which has no problem rendering with the CPU at 100% usage and doesn't crash. I have updated my Graphics drivers and used DDU in safe mode when I first installed my 3070. I have updated my BIOS and have updated Windows. Not sure what my next step is. Could it be my Power Supply or Motherboard? As they are a little old even though they seem to have no problem when running Cyberpunk. Just to make it clear. I have had absolutely no performance issues with this card. Just instant PC shut downs. 17. First of all I am not 100% sure if that's the correct place to put this topic, so please excuse me if I made a mistake. Thanks! Now for the issue- My computer started randomly restarting itself. At first it was just the monitor going to sleep after 15 minutes of inactivity and then sometimes being unable to wake up unless I use the power button to restart it. (Neither keyboard or mouse were able to "wake it") Not a big issue as the monitor is very old, but has no other problem really and it wasn't happening often. Later, however, I had to restart the whole computer for it "wake up". I say wake up, because I have turned it off, as well as hibernation, since they were giving me problems in the past. (The warranty covered it back then, seems like the motherboard was faulty. Even so I had those options turned off ever since and its only the monitor that lights off.) And now the computer started rebooting at times. Most of the times were in-game, but once it was while talking on Discord with nothing else on. After a reboot I quickly check the temps- everything is around 20-40 degrees. For that I am using Speccy. Today I even had a hard crash which resulted in the computer loading up an older safer version. Didn't see anything removed, so not sure how old of a version it rolled back to. I have checked all my drivers and they are all up to date. The dust has been cleaned off recently and from I can see/feel all the fans are spinning normally. Specs: Win. 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1; i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20Ghz; 8GB RAM; GTX 960. The OS is installed on an SSD everything else is on an HDD. Apart from the rebooting I haven't noticed anything else weird. What can I do to troubleshoot, or find the issue? I'd change the HDD/SSD, but if its the power supply?! And vice versa. Same for all other parts really. Again, sorry if that's the wrong place for this topic and if my question is stupid/badly asked. Thank you for your time!
18. My PC lately has been forming a habit of randomly freezing and then restarting itself. When this occurs I typically hear a buzzing noise in my headset for the 5-10 seconds it is frozen until it restarts. The confusing part is that it always just restarts straight to windows and never blue screens. It seems like it happens more often when gaming but I feel like I recall it happening while just being in discord as well. At first I thought PSU because I was running an overclocked 9600k and a 5700xt on a Corsair CX500 but I just bought a Corsair RMx850 and it is still doing it. If it helps, system specs are: 9600k OC'd to 5GHz (I have tried turning off overclock and it didnt fix the issue) Gigabyte Z390M Mobo 16gb ram 5700xt Corsair RMx 850 Any suggestions as to what the problem could be would be great. Thanks
19. Hi, I built my PC in September. Monday it started to crash when trying to run a game. It crashed without blue screen of death and restarted. Specs: CPU - AMD 5600x GPU - Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 3070 Master 8G (Latest drivers) RAM - 8Gb 3000MHz (Runs at 2133MHz, Without DOCP)(3000MHz, with DOCP) MOBO - ROG strix b550-f gaming wifi Storage - 970 EVO 1TB (100GB available) PSU - Corsair CX750F (750 Watt) OS - Windows 10 Pro (Latest release) When I run some games, the pc crashes. No BSOS, no error, just black screen and a restart. If I plug in a speaker, it gives one short beep. (Which means everything is OK) I have no OC running on any part. I tried diffrent ram and ram slots, didn't work. Clearing CMOS and changing battery didn't work either. I also checked Event Viewer, it gave 2 errors from NetBT: "Initialization failed because the driver device could not be created. Use the string "000000000100320000000000D71000C011010000250200C001000000000000000000000000000000" to identify the interface for which initialization failed. It represents the MAC address of the failed interface or the Globally Unique Interface Identifier (GUID) if NetBT was unable to map from GUID to MAC address. If neither the MAC address nor the GUID were available, the string represents a cluster device name. " Some benchmarks and games: -COD Cold War, Crash (Gameplay) -Rainbow Six Siege, Crash (Gameplay) -Watch dogs legions, Crash (Gameplay) -GTA V, no crash (No gameplay, only benchmark) -Cinebench R23, no crash -> CPU under 80 degrees Celsius. (Measured with ICUE / hwinfo) -3D Mark, no crash -Heaven Benchmark, no crash -FurMark, no crash -Memtest (see image), no crash Can anyone help me?
20. Hi everyone! This is an issue that I have been dealing with (ON and OFF) for a couple of months now, where my pc just shuts down and then reboots by itself. It happens while doing just about everything, gaming, watching videos (mostly on youtube), listening to music, it even happens when I'm afk and the pc is doing nothing. In some extreme ocassions it will restart twice, very rarely even three times in a row. This last time (today) after the third it didn't even restart at all, it completely shut down. Upon restarting it myself I got the message that it had previously failed to boot and to press F1 to run bios setup. What is odd about it tho, is that it can manifest constantly for days and then at times completely disappear for weeks. Making it extremly hard to diagnose what's causing it. Here's my build: PSU - Corsair AX-860 80+ Platinum Motherboard - ASUS ROG Strix Z370-F Gaming CPU - Intel i7-8700K @ stock Cooler CPU - Corsair iCUE H150i RGB PRO XT 360mm GPU - MSI GTX 1080 Armor OC 8GB GDDR5X Memory - Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB SSD - Samsung 850 EVO 500GB HDD - Seagate Barracuda 2TB and Toshiba DT01ACA 3TB And here's what I've done so far trying to figure out was is causing this: - Limited GPU temp on MSI Afterburner to 80º. Did nothing, restarts still happened. - Ran memtest86 on each stick of RAM individually and no errors were found. - Ran OCCT to test the PSU for 1 hour and no errors were found. Also worth mentioning, for about 3 weeks I have been turning the PSU power off before going to sleep. Completely shutting down any power to the PC while I'm sleeping. That seemed to help for that duration, since I didn't get a single random restart. However, yesterday the restarts came back, and this time it's much worse. I had 4 restarts yesterday and today I'm at the third already, today being all consecutive restarts too. The last one being a complete shutdown and fail to post. I'm lost as to what's causing this, if I was to guess I'd bet on it being the PSU. Which is still in warranty, till May of this year. But I'm not sure if it's worth sending it to RMA, since the restarts are so random that it may not even happen while Corsair is testing the PSU. Ideas? Any help is welcome. Thank you in advance!
21. HI! it seems like my gpu is shutting off randomly, this is a completely new build. im not sure what causes the problem, it happens while im just at my background of my pc with no applications open, my monitors will go black and the gpu shuts off and "restarts" (the fans will spin to 100% and down again like they do when booting up) and then the image is back on my monitors. the build dosent get too hot or too cold. it rarely happens but its still really unusual. a friend also seems be having the same problem but has an 3070 card with amd cpu. 22. My pc is randomly restarting, it might do it twice in 3 days or once in 10 days and sometimes when I'm gaming others when I'm not even on the pc. Temps are fine and so is the power supply. Literally changed everything except the motherboard and CPU and I've been using the system for two days and it just restarted again. Please help me, I'm literally losing my mind. I checked the event viewer and everytime time I get the restarts like 10minutes before it has a DCOM error with the ID 10016 but it doesn't restart everytime the error happens. Unfortunately I can't test the only two stuff I haven't changed (mobo and cpu) because I don't have parts and I can't buy a new mobo just for 9 days later to turn out to be the cpu or the other way around. 23. Windows 10 Re-Starts instead of Shutting Down more than 50% of the time. When clicking "Shut-Down" the system turns off for about a second, then re-starts automatically. I have tried: *Disabling Fast Startup in Power Options *Updating Chipset Drivers *Flashed motherboard BIOS to most current version (Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro Wifi) F63c *Completed fresh USB installs back-and-forth to Windows 11 and Windows 10 (several times) *Reconfigured Network Adapter ---- The only thing I have NOT tried is: Changing Registry Configurations Problem is when I type in REGEDIT in the RUN prompt, I cannot find: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon --- This happens in both Windows 10 and in Windows 11. I don't understand why this would be missing if I am doing a fresh Windows install every time (booting directly to the USB installer). Am I missing something? What is going on with this PC??
24. just delete
25. So when I turn on "memory integrity" and have "fast startup" enabled (yes I restarted after changing those options) my PC won't just stay off after I press "shut down". Instead it restarts / turns itself back on. Turning one of the before mentioned options off fixes the problem. But I want both on. My guess is there is some BIOS/UEFI option that causes the problem.
