Budget (including currency): I would rather not sell my liver, please Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (World of Tanks, League of Legends, Maybe some main titles, Etc) and school Other details : I recently purchased a new case, upgrading to the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv X. Parts I currently have are: Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mk 2 LGA 1150 Intel Core i7-4790K Devil's Canyon quad-core 4.0 GHz 1150 EVGA GeForce GTX 970 G. Skill Trident X series 16GB(2 x 8GB) 240-pin DDR3 SDRAM My conundrum is this. My Motherboard has no RBG headers that I can tell and the case comes with a 3-pin D-RBG cable for the case lights as well as a USB 3.1 cable that I also can not make use of. If im also looking to change other parts, what motherboard would be recommended? I don't mind upgrading to newer motherboards and CPUs, but I just don't know what I need or what direction to head. Does anyone have any suggestions? Side note: I also previously had a Corsair Hydro Series H115i Extreme Performance AiO, but the radiator grill received some damage, presumably from my cats, and no longer worked, so I'm in the market for a new CPU cooler as well. My old case was a Phanteks Eclipse P400S series Mid-Tower that started to warp. I use 140mm ML fans, a total of 6 scattered across my case at the moment.

I’m looking to upgrade my PC (it’s in dire need of it) but I have no idea what place to start. At the moment I know very little about what I’m doing, and while I intend to do loads of research, I’m wondering what parts need replacing? I figured I’d list them here and let you guys give feedback as necessary on what’s old and needs replacing. First off, I won’t even bother listing GPU for the simple reason that I’m running off of integrated graphics right now (please, crucify me) and I’ll take basically anything at this point. Not much to say there. However, if I want to upgrade my GPU, I’m thinking I’ll also need to upgrade my power supply, but I’ll need confirmation on that. My current PSU has a wattage of 280W, which from what I gather isn’t nearly enough for modern gaming? This is weird, though. The motherboard is listed as the AMIBIOS 686, if I’m reading correctly, which has an odd ATX connector that looks to be 14-pin (12 pins have wires running to the PSU, the remaining 2 don’t for whatever reason. Does this just mean it’s 12-pin? And do I need to worry about this if I’m replacing my PSU?). My PC does have 16GB Corsair memory, which should be good, I’m thinking. Doubt it’ll have much effect on anything in the first place. The CPU is an i7, which I believe should serve me well for a few years but feel free to correct me on that. The PC also has a 500GB SSD, which isn’t as much as I’d like. The case is 18cm wide, 42cm long, and 35 tall. Is this too small? That’s all that seems important to mention. I’m not sure what needs replacing exactly, maybe a lot, I guess I just need someplace to start. Thank you in advance for any scrap of advice you can offer.

Budget (including currency): EUR 400 - 450 Country: Netherlands Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: games (kids pc, so fortnite, gta, etc) Other details: almost everything is available already as it is mostly about upgrading the CPU, which has become the main bottleneck. Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3. GPU: RX470. Monitor, PC case etc all available and in use. I was hoping to upgrade the CPU and the mobo, not spend too much and still future proof it a bit. I was looking at the Ryzen 5 5600x (I have a R7 3700x so I might actually do a swap, if I feel like making the effort) at €275 the ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 which costs around €105. That would leave me at a total of €380 and nicely within the price range I had in mind (there is a second kids pc that might need an upgrade in the near future). Any suggestions on either saving a few bucks, or getting an upgrade for a bit more money spent? Thanks!

I have 2 small monitors under my primary screen which I use for chat. They're really old DoubleSight 9" 1024x600 DisplayLink (USB) monitors. I bought them over 10 years ago, and I'd like a backup plan if they ever stop working. I've looked for replacements some years ago, but none of them seemed like suitable displays. I'm looking for 9" or larger size. 1024x600 or higher resolution. Kickstand or some way for them to angle nicely depending on the size of my primary display. USB-C (DisplayLink), HDMI, or DisplayPort connections. IPS, PLS, VA, or OLED panels (no TN). Reputable brand.

Hello, I recently cracked my samsung galaxy book s space bar and i can't find any replacements on internet, I even contacted support for quikixlaptopkeys .com to see if they could bring some to ship but they couldn't. I will attach a pic of how the space bar looks. I need help to find the individual part, not a keyboard replacement cause i found one on ali express but i dont wanna spend $50 just for a key. It would be much appreciated. Thank you

I own a Predator Helios 300 (G3-572). I had a broken key on the laptop and wanted to fix it. I found out that the only official way to fix it is to replace the whole palm rest with the keyboard. I saved for 1yr to replace that as I'm a Computer Science Student and I often carry my laptop around for programming and other works and carrying an external keyboard along is not possible. While replacing the keyboard, I noticed a giant black spot near the GPU on the underside of the MoBo. Most probably a blown capacitor busting the power line to the GPU. When I talked to my local Acer Care, they said I'll have to buy a new motherboard costing me around 650$ (or 50,000 INR), which is almost the price I paid for the whole laptop (Got it in a big sale ~50% off) since it is out of warranty by now. I tried to tweet about it to Acer, they never replied to me after taking the Product ID. Now, I have random BSODs and crashes all the time. If I try to play any games, I get peak frame times of 400-500ms every 10-15 secs. I am also trying to learn Machine Learning and GPU acceleration is out of the question for me as it always crashes. I barely have 20$ with me and I have no income source. I don't know what to do about the situation as most probably, I won't be able to buy a new machine either for a couple of years at least. I'm just posting this in case someone knows someone in Acer or works there can help me find a way to get it fixed, as cap blowing is a manufacturing/ design flaw. The laptop still works fine, it's just that BSODs and crashes made me lose a lot of work and I'm no longer able to play any games which I like, except Among us. P.S. - The laptop has another built quality issue, where the screw bolts on the backplate of LCD broke of internally and in-turn made the hinge to break as well. Currently, I cannot even open/ close my laptop and have to keep it still on a laptop stand. Also, sorry for bad English, not a native speaker. DON'T BUY ACER!

Greetings All, I own a 2017 LG Gram (13Z980) and it has been my daily driver for the past 2 years. I use it for work and personal so it has seen a TON of use. A few weeks ago I noticed a spot form on my trackpad and thought it may have been a piece of dirt or whatever. I ran my fingernail lightly over top and ended up taking a good bit of the top coating off . Its now wearing away at a pretty good rate probably due to finger oils decaying it and whatnot. (Attached Photo) I've been searching for replacement trackpads but the closest thing I've been able to find is the whole deck assembly including the keyboard for like $200+, or purchasing a "for parts only" situation for even more. Does anyone know of a good place to get replacement trackpads that might have one for my machine? Given LG isn't huge in the laptop / computer manufacturing game, I'm realizing now that its difficult to find replacement parts. Its an 8th Gen i7 with PLENTY of life left and it fits my needs perfectly, however (when I cant use my wireless), the uneven trackpad surface and now spotty tracking is driving me nuts. Thanks! - Mvard

Does anyone know where I could either send in my faulty RTX 2080ti to get the memory swapped out or order memory modules to replace them myself? I am currently experiencing artifacts when my graphics card exceeds 60 C. It makes all of the scenery look like spikes are jutting from everything then crashes my programs. I have yet for the card to actually crash the computer as a whole. I have some experience with working on pcbs, chips, and soldering, but i am far from a professional. I just want to be able to use my card again rather than having an expensive paper weight. I have an AUROS Extreme RTX 2080ti. I replaced the air cooler on the card with a waterblock to improve the temps on the card since my gaming room is not well insulated and gets hot in the summer. I attempted to send it back to Gigabyte for an RMA, but they refused to fix the card or attempt to help in any way. Thank you

Hey, I don't suppose anyone here knows of any good replacement mesh ear cups for the Sony WH-CH700N wireless headphones? I love my headphones to death however after prolonged use, especially in hot weather or more humid/sweaty conditions, the ear pads/cups get super stinky, sweaty and wet and it's really uncomfortable. I don't want to get new headphones just for this issue since like I say I adore them otherwise but if there is any way I could change out the stock faux leather/plastic ear pads for some breathable mesh/fabric ones that would be amazing! Hi! I'm coding a c++ web server, and I'm looking to use, among others, the quote unquote tag "/%CurrDir%" to print out the current directory path to the document. But that's not easy. I decided to do it and thought, meh, I'll just replace it. But I completely forgot buffers have a specific length, and if the path name has more than 10 characters, it'll overflow, less leave empty space, so I can't just straight up replace it. Now. I thought of two possible ways I can do this. 1. Create a temporary file that's a copy of the one I'm sending, with a name that has something to do with the current socket so it doesn't get over-written, in which I can freely replace things and then freely send it in chunks without having to worry with replacing. Disadvantages: - Possible storage bottleneck and all around unoptimized use. - More action will happen on the storage side of things. So basically, faster for fewer clients, slower for more. 2. Doing it all with c++, complicated calculations. Disadvantages: - Will take up quite a lot more processing time. - Will be way harder to code(not that that's an issue). - Will take up a lot more memory due to the need of usage of other more forward buffers to readjust loss from some or change from the intermediary ones. Slower for everyone, but completely scalable hardware-wise. I'd choose 2 in a whim just because it can be improved in the future and because it's scalable, but I'm not sure these are the only ways it can be done, so, if you have any other way of doing this, I'd be happy to know. Thank you.

so.. i'm not sure how to explain myself here, since i honestly dont care much about audio gear. the case at hand is one of my speakers, which has been in use for quite a long time, and honestly has seen better days this is the state of things, the two subs are sphinx, 120 watts, 180mm. the mid... is the original dantax 80 watt, 120mm, and as you can see, is in horrible shape the tweeter.. is a 60mm hole where once a tweeter lived, and is now just a cover plate now, for the meat and potatoes: thats the top sphynx, which is pretty much only "visual" damage, from things bumping into it over the years. and the dantax mid... yeah, that's supposed to have one of tose rubber ring things around it isnt it? well, that rotted away a good 5 years ago as before mentioned, the tweeter is a thing of the past as well. --- comes to the question: what kind of speaker(s) should i get to put in place of the 120mm dantax, should i bother putting in a tweeter again, and how cringeworthy is that sphynx? as a follow-up, in case it wasnt clear: there's not a very great budget here. and if i end up replacing things, they need to be accessible from belgium (not doing overseas shipments, i'm having a hard enough time buying stuff from german retailers already )

Sounds like a marvelous idea, and could eventually be the future of energy. Do you think it has a chance or will the big oil, coal, and nuclear lobby kill it before it can take off?
