summary It's that time of the year again, Microsoft will soon release, a new version of Windows 10. Codename 21H1 the new update will feature.... nothing really. Normally, they are new features, but this time, they are absolutely minor, which is also what we got last year with 20H2. This proves the entire developer team is doing one of these three things: working mostly on Sun Valley working mostly on Windows 10X (Microsoft's competitor to ChromeOS that isn't announced yet but everyone knows about) working mostly on nothing Mostly bug fixes, here are the entire list of new features: Windows Hello multicamera support to set the default as the external camera when both external and internal Windows Hello cameras are present. Windows Defender Application Guard performance improvements including optimizing document opening scenario times. Project Sun Valley. A big project, known only as rumors. Summarizing the rumors, Sun Valley seems to be going full in with Fluent Design, dropping Metro (the design language, not the transportation service!). This is supported by leaks from Microsoft showing screenshots in documentations and marketing materials that don't quite match up with what we have. One of the more notable change is... rounded corners on UI elements. Yeah, that design choice Microsoft had been avoiding like the plague. My Dean of Students is looking for a new PC, and I am helping him look. With his budget, I found a prebuilt that has an intel i5-10400 and a RTX 3070. According to a bottleneck calculator I found, those match pretty well, but I think I have a bias against Intel since Ryzen 3000, so it just doesn't feel right for some reason. I posted under Graphics Cards because the problem isn't about that. I am considering offering to build it for him because I have built a few computers before and I feel like I want that to be my job, being the "tech guy" of the small town I live in. I have come up with a parts list that I think fit really well in his budget, but it includes a new Ryzen CPU and RTX 3000 series GPU. My issue is that I probably wouldn't be able to get my hands on the hardware in a reasonable time like an OEM would. When should I expect to be able to get my hands on a 3070, and should I look for a different CPU than the 5600X to not wait as long? Sorry if this is a stupid question -- it probably is, but I've never been through the process of trying to purchase a new product before it's sold out before. From what I know, Nvidia isn't going to be selling the card on their website and is handing it off instead to BestBuy. I just called BestBuy Canada and they told me it probably won't be coming out until early November, but the sales rep didn't really seem to know what she was talking about. Does anyone have better/more up to date information? Also, do we know where else is going to stock it in Canada? Thanks. -

However, if AMD keeps to the plan of releasing Ryzen in Q1, this would be a good time. Now, there are no information weather this is just the paper-launch or the actual launch. Also wasn't there a contest where you could win a Ryzen CPU that ends early February?

Hey LTT Forums this is my First Post on LTT Forums and on any tech forum in August this year I'm planning to get my build together consisting of a i7 7700k an MSI gaming pro carbon but for the graphics card I was originally planning for a 1070GTX but then after the Volta leaks I'm confused on waiting for Volta or buying the 1070 I can wait 3 months after august (I don't wanna make the same mistake as my cousin as he bought a 980ti and then 3 months later pascal launched) Pls Help Me Out LTT Forums!

I am currently having a difficult time choosing between building my PC now or at the end of the year So to explain I will be both building my own setup and buying a sort of laptop over the next 6 month s Since AMD Vega got delayed I am rethinking my choice of : Building now and buying the laptop later in the year when new stuff come out like a refresh from the Blade Stealth , new Zenbooks and others I am reconsidering because I believe Vega will offer some competition to the Nvidia cards and Intel will probably announce or "leak" coffeelake anyday now and this will lower the prices a bit of my intended 7700k and 1070 build however I am not sure I will very unlikely be buying any of the Vega products but I will try to take advantage of them and in waiting for the build later I will have to have to buy the laptop right now , although I am not sold on any of the products in the laptop market and it is about that time of the year where everyone is releasing their new products Help me decide by sharing your thoughts

I’m looking to purchase the parts for my first pc and when I checked yesterday it was preorder off of B&H for June 26. Now I check today and see it pushed to July 21. Idk when to expect it to release cause I wanted the older model but now that there’s a better version it’s not worth going back to that one but I also want to have it ready for next school year in case of distance learning. Any ideas? -

According to Tom's Hardware, Nvidia isn't going to release new gaming cards until summer. So, no new cards on GTC/GDC. They also stated that the architecture name will be Turing, not Ampere. Yeah, this isn't the first time we've heard this, so it is even more likely. This makes the battle over architecture name even more confusing. One day someone says that the new gaming cards will be named Ampere and then, right the next day, somebody else says it will be Turing instead. Now, this is interesting. It looks much more likely than the recent rumours from WCCFTech. It also makes sense when you take in mind that Pascal wasn't released on GDC or GTC as well. I think that this isn't any big breakthrough, we've already suspected something like this, but it's a nice confirmation of what we know so far. I am just suprised about the name. I was expecting Ampere. On the other hand Reuters also said that gaming GPUs will be called Turing and Gamers Nexus says it too. Ubuntu Cinnamon 19.10 So recently I have seen [and partially helped with] a recent project called Ubuntu Cinnamon. Working on becoming a full flavor it has its first real release based on Ubuntu 19.10 and like any other flavor is just plain Ubuntu with a different skin which is how it differs from Linux Mint [which adds a lot of extra software]. TL;DR There is now an Ubuntu Cinnamon flavor that released but currently unofficial.

Hey guys, so I'm planning on buying the rx 480 and maybe a year later buy another one for crossfire. But I don't want the reference cooler, so I'm currently waiting for the aftermarket coolers.. Any idea when they will hit the market? Thank you in advance. Also, why is it that the RX 480 aftermarkets aren't out yet? Like Nvidia aftermarket cards always hit at same time as the launch.. u feel me fam?

as you all know the 1080,1070, and the rx 480 have all been announced. On nvidia side we have seen custom coolers and pcb's from the AIB manufacturers but how long till we see them on shelves after the initial release? I havent kept up with release dates of the past gen followed by their AIB launches. Just curious

Hey everyone, I guess most off you saw the GTX1080 release event. During the presentation Jen-Hsun introduced something called 'Simultaneous Multi Projection' and as a triple screen user i am very interested in this feature. However only 6 months ago i bought a GTX 980Ti and i'm quite annoyed that this feature gets released in another couple of months with the new series. Is there any chance this is more a software thing like "Ansel" that they introduced as well, so i'l be able to do 'Simultaneous Multi Projection' with my GTX 980Ti or is this closely linked to their new Pascal architecture. In which case the Maxwell architecture in the GTX 9XX-cards won't be able to run this feature. The introduction of 'Simultaneous Multi Projection' took me by surprise, because to be honest there current 'Nvidia Surround'-software isn't very good Introducing this should have impact on their implementation of 'Nvidia Surround' as well, i would think...

Anyone know when the new Blade 14 is going to be released? They say that it is going ship on March 31, but then when that date neared, they said it would ship on April 25. When that date neared, they changed it now to May 13. The website says "Available for Pre-order. Ships on 13th May 2016". Is this just a big scheme where Razer is just trying to get a bunch of people to preorder and then push the release date back so they have a lot of preorders before they even start its production?

Does anyone know when the Skylake-E processors are going to be released? It would be cool to look at the knew i7-6960X processor (if that's what it is going to be called). I think they may get released with the release of their new Kaby lake processor, but I don't know when this will be.

When is it actually expected? I see anywhere from April to September and nobody seems ever remotely agreed upon when it might be coming. Any rumors? Leaks? Any idea when news might come of a date? I need a GPU upgrade and I'm considering picking up a EVGA 980 Ti Hybrid but if Pascal is coming soon then I wouldn't want to. Conflicted.
