I couldn’t find a good answer for this online, so I figured you guys could help. Basically, I bought a steam deck 512gb model (refurbished) through Steam September 28th for $550. About a month later, Valve announced and launch the oled for the same price BRAND NEW! I know you can return a product through steam within 14 days no problem, but since it’s been over a month, I’m not sure if I could. The deck is still in perfect condition. Only modification is that it dual boots windows. Do you guys think I could return it, or will Valve just auto reject my refund?

Hi. on prime day I bought a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVME on Amazon (sold by them: Amazon Export Sales LLC) since it was cheap (129,99 USD). After waiting two weeks (it was shipped to the country where I'm residing) I got the wrong product: a 1TB 970 evo plus. I opened a ticket and the first person answered me they would send the correct product (the 2TB 990 pro). I accepted the offer. After a while, he told me there was a problem with the system and redirected me to a second person who told me there was indeed a problem. After that, I was redirected to a call where I was told there was no other choice but to send the wrong product back and get a refund. They wouldn't fullfill the promise of sending the right product. I didn't accept it since I need the 990 pro and it is available on Amazon. Today I contacted them again and the first person told me they would send me the right product, but again "there was a problem on the system" and got redirected to a second, third and fourth person who then told me again there was no other choice but to send the product back, wait until amazon gets it and then wait some other 3-5 work days to get my money back to then buy again the product!! Since it could mean 1+ month lost waiting for a product I bought from amazon. Is there a procedure to make them fullfill the promise they did or I just have to wait 1+ month until I get my money back and then buy the ssd with the price they have it. Any help is valuable since this is my first time I get the wrong product (and it would be my first return).

I've been searching online and I can't seem to find any good advice about it, but does anyone know if attempting 3 refunds in a week or so's span will set off the suspicion alarms? I've already attempted 2, 1 denied, 1 went through. I just don't want to tip off their warning systems in case that marks me as suspicious and/or a fraud. In case anyone was wondering, here are the reasons and the games attempted to refund. 1. Nekopara Vol.1 (played 8mins, owned since July 1st) reason: grew out of weeb phase (denied because owned for too long) 2.Jackbox Party Pack 2 (played 1.8 hours, owned since yesterday) reason: sale went on today and just wanted to save some money (accepted) And I was going to refund Titanfall 2 (26 minutes played, owned since yesterday) while I'm at it since it's not as exciting as I remember it being on console, but I'm not so sure anymore. I apologize if this seems like a stupid question. Thanks in advance!

Skillshare is a company that has sponsored the Linus Tech Tips Youtube Channel many times, and after I saw on the forum post that Skillshare stated that they would give a 3 day notice before billing by email, I did not receive one. I email them to get a refund and they refused saying they do not give out refunds to people who buy monthly plans, which is extremely scummy. I responded with that I was not sent the 3 day notice and mentioned the fourm post on the LTTFourms and they made a 'one time exemption'. There Refund Policy is to not give refunds for people who buy monthly unless they mention they did not get a 3 day notice and the fourm thread.

Summary Googles streaming platform stadia has finally streamed its last stream, or at least it will mid January next year. Phil Harrison announced in a blog post that Stadia will be winding down over the next few months and issuing refunds for " all Stadia hardware purchases made through the Google Store, and all game and add-on content purchases made through the Stadia store." A relatively consumer friendly way to deny them access to things they bought, especially compared to alternatives. As noted by Paul Tassi of Forbes it is unclear if in-game purchases that go across platform (such as premium currency for destiny 2) will be refunded. Quotes My thoughts Guess they saw the market for stadia wasn't so bright with their negative latency. Going to be sad to see that R6 siege no longer has crossplay on PC. Sources https://blog.google/products/stadia/message-on-stadia-streaming-strategy/ https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/12790109 https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2022/09/29/google-is-killing-stadia-and-refunding-every-purchase-ever-made/

Hi LTT folks, I am new here. I can go on r/rant but I feel doing it here will expose the anti-consumer behavior of corporates, in this case, Ubisoft. I made a purchase of AC Origins Season Pass and FC 5 on Ubisoft Store for 14 Euros which I paid in Indian Rupees using digital payment system during Ubisoft Store sale. My main game (AC Origins) is in Steam and this is the 1st time I have ever purchased a DLC separately. Usually I would purchase altogether in a bundle. Anyway, I had no idea that there is incompatibility between using DLCs on one platform and main game on the other. When I went on Ubisoft's forum to read about it, I was surprised to learn this is a long age pending issue and was never resolved by Ubisoft. There is no warning or a side note on their products about the incompatibility and usage of main games from third party platforms with DLCs on Ubi Store. This might also be the case for other gaming studios on Non-Ubisoft Gaming Platform, idk. If Ubisoft has this incompatibility then why even list all the games under "Games" library that were purchased from Steam, Epic, GOG? So I immediately opened up a case ticket on their website and asked for a refund ONLY for AC Origins Season Pass and not the FC 5. After a day or two they tell me that they cannot cash me back the refund due to the payment method I used and instead will provide store vouchers worth it's cost i.e. partial refund(only for the DLC = 7Euros). I requested them to reconsider cash refund but as the corporate support goes, I had to accept their offer. They told me to wait for 14 days. Now here's where I goofed up, I closed the case ticket before receiving the refund. Mind that I gave them the confirmation to proceed with the refund but because I closed the ticket they thought that I have given up the idea of refund. Post 17 days, I contacted them back by reopening the previous case in the form of a new ticket and asked them the voucher's whereabouts. The chat support said the refund was never initiated because I closed the ticket. (Facepalming with frustration) I reconfirmed and acknowledged to go with the original refund. Only THIS TIME, they tell me that partial refund is not possible we have to refund for the whole order(DLC + FC5). I am like, what changed in this process? I just started playing FC5 and now all of a sudden you pull this crap for no reason. Their emails also said no matter how much I dispute this is the only thing they can ('will') do. As I write this, I accepted defeat and told them to go ahead with the full-refund but at the cost of exposing this madness on forums such as this, may be on Gamer's Nexus and PCMR. My only ignorance was closing the first case ticket. Go through the images. It's not about getting full refund but them making you chase after something so trivial that was caused due to their platform's misinformation and turning back on their customers. They should have at least proceeded with the partial refund and let me keep my FC 5. Linus, LMG Team and the community, if you feel this is injustice please expose them through your videos.

Hi guys, mostly just posting here for visibility and a searchable record if someone else has this issue. Preface: So my story starts October last year, was finally upgrading my computer and purchased a new Motherboard, CPU, and RAM from Amazon. Stuff arrived, motherboard had been previously opened, thermal goop on the socket, bent pins. So I went ahead and returned it, no problems. While I was waiting for a replacement I complained to my friends on discord and they made a joke about me receiving the Newegg treatment, it was a good laugh. January comes, I order a new SSD, it arrives previously opened but is otherwise intact. I contact customer service, say that I don't trust a drive that has potentially been tampered with, request a replacement. Replacement isn't possible, customer service opens a refund for me. While I'm chatting with customer service I'm hanging out on discord and my friend mentions that this is becoming a common problem. I receive my refund. Everything seems good. The true story begins: Last week I receive an email saying that the SSD I returned did not have a matching serial number to the one that was sent and that unless I "send the correct item" they will recharge me for the device. Also they disposed of the item that I had returned. I reply, letting them know that seeing as the item had been opened before I received it, this isn't all that surprising, and that I returned the exact item I received in the condition I received it in. Clearly this drive had been opened once, returned and now re-sent to. I had some back and forth and received a few of these: Most replies got me back either an identical to the email above or extremely similar. I wasn't sure if I was talking to a bot an employee who was copy pasting the same script, so I tried emailing Jeff@amazon.com with a description of my problem and got back one of these: I re-stated my case to Monika, asked that they address the open box issue. Again, mentioned that I returned the item that I received and that this is all out of my control. So I'm basically stuck. I'm just waiting for the charge to appear on my credit card statement so I can dispute it and get my amazon account closed. The End: Again, I don't think that whining about my issue here will get anything done. But figured it would be helpful to have another case to look up for if this happens to someone else. Apparently Amazon's refund policy doesn't always work out... Thanks for reading, I'll update this post of there's a happy ending.

So like every, iv been ordering lots of items because of Covid-19 (Amazon being my go to) So the other day i recived a refund on my bank statement from amazon for 50$. The item this was pertaining to, had not been shipped, and my Amazon account had not indicated, a problem (no cancelation just delayed, understandable under the circumstances) so okay, now i received another refund in excess of 200$ (now l do have a prime account) the item in question was to be free shipping and to arrive on the 29th of April 2020. (At the time of writing this, thats today) i receive a email yesterday (April 28th) that it was shipped. When i woke up and checked my online banking there was another refund from amazon for the price of the idem 200$ Issued on the 29th. For this item on my Amazon account it say it was shipped with access to tracking information, showing the arrival date of Monday May 4th. So do i just wait untill Monday to see if the item arrives? befor contacting Amazon? Im aware of the high amount of traffic they must be receiving because of the circumstances, and mistakes happen. But happening twice in a week? Or has it happen because of the circumstance and not being able to meet the "guarantee delivery time" .

I fairly recently bought a HP laptop from the UK store argos and found that it's performance was comparable to an pentium laptop for around a 3rd the price (I did not have time to do alot of research about this) and went for it however it's been causing issues with it bricking windows, refusing to play youtube videos, pathetic battery life, and all the rest, I've had it for around 2-3 months now and it's causing me so much trouble I just want to refund the damn thing. Firstly I tried to go to argos to refund it there they said: We can't refund it because it's "not to your liking" fair enough I thought. But looking on HP's website there really isn't a way top refund a laptop just replace etc. What options do I have here? tl;dr bought laptop store refused to refund without reference number from HP, I don't know what my options are in this situation

Hi All, I have been having a few issues recently with warranty, i sent off my card almost 2 months ago to the re seller, they then sent it off to Asus. Yesterday i get a call from the re seller about a partial refund, they offer me £224, i originally paid £450, unfortunately due to terms and conditions, i am unable to get a full refund, and no replacement as 9 series is now EOL. I am now needing to go on a GPU hunt, used or new, but at a reasonable price, i can probably go to £400 currently, have you got any suggestions on what i should do? Cheers, ShavedCloaca

Hello all, I've had an accident where my GPU (Evga 980 TI) fried and alot of smoke came out. This caused the top PCI slot to no longer function. My question is, this motherboard has been purchased barely two months ago, will I be able to get a new one or anything like that? (It's an MSI H370 Gaming Pro Carbon) Thanks all for reading.

pc gaming Should refund my newly bought rtx 2070 for the 3070??
Le_Joshi posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Man, I am livid. Pain. Literally the day before i made the purchase for my first gaming pc build which included a msi rtx 2070 super, Nvidia announces the 3070 series which is undoubtedly better and cheaper than the msi. Thinking of refunding it and waiting a month to get the 3070, but then i thought “would my build even handle the gpu?” So should i refund the msi or do i need a better build to not bottleneck it? So Steam Support is unwilling to refund a product that does not actually work. As in it won't even launch. No error or anything. It opens up and the closes within seconds. It seems as though this is a known problem with the game, however I hadn't even tried launching the game until today as I bought it during a Steam sale but didn't try playing it until now. So because of this I am forced to go to my bank and file a dispute against the charge, however the only written information about something close to this is in-regards to chargebacks. However it would be a payment dispute and not a charge back. My concern is because Steam has nothing written in this sort of situation on their support page, that they will try and lock my account. Essentially they've seemingly create a loophole that they can take advantage of at their will. Has anyone else filed a bank dispute in regards to a steam purchase that the product ended up being faulty or broken. More so to the point it didn't work from the start (out of the box)? If so, did your account get locked? Or do you still have access to it. I asked all this on the Steam reddit (as it's more likely to be seen by plenty of users), but their pos reddit auto-mod bot auto-locked the thread. Which is just a headache and frustrating to deal with.

I purchased this power supply, Smart series 500W, on july 14th but I was only able to test it on August 21st because I had to wait for it to arrive my country so I couldn't return it to Amazon on time. It worked fine for about 2-3 hours when suddenly my PC shutdown itself,I thought I was having electricity problems but the rest of my devices continued working fine. I Tried to power on the system again but nothing happened. I disconnected my GPU and tried to power on again, this time the system start working but after a few moments it shutdown again. I continued disconnecting things until there was only a a fan connected, only then the power supply was able to keep working. This make me believe that I was unlucky enough to end with a defective unit that can't bare to supply even the power required by the CPU. I contacted Thermaltake , and they agreed to RMA the PSU but the RMA process was a waste of time and money. I asked them if the cover the shipping costs and they said that I had to pay the shipping to them but that they will send back the product at no cost to me. I don't live in the US but I made that clear from the beginning and I filled the contact form with the information from my country, that didn't seem to be a problem to them at the time so I decided to send them the PSU. The shipping cost me around 27 dollars but that still was cheaper than buying a new PSU keeping in mind that the would send it back for free. When the PSU arrive to Thermaltake location I didn't receive any notification, I waited a couple of days and then contacted them, I didn't get any answer until a few days later when they told me that there was nothing wrong with the PSU, which is odd because I tested it with 2 different PC but I was willing to trusted them and took it back. The problem was that they weren't willing to honor their word on the free shipment to my country, they told me that they could only offer me free shipping to Florida but if I wanted my PSU to be shipped to my country I have to pay for it. They ignored my last request on the support plataform until I published this case on one of their twits, then they just lied about the whole thing. I feel cheated and very helpless about the whole situation. The issue is not only that I lost money buying something that didn't work sending it to them, but that they specifically said they would pay the shipping back. I thought that maybe if I get enough exposure to the case they might consider honor their word and refund me or send me the replacement, so I was hoping for you to help me, I can't do it alone, I don't have many followers or anything like that. Thanks. You can see their reponse to my claim on twitter here: https://twitter.com/Thermaltake/status/958067658871705601 https://twitter.com/Thermaltake/status/957049512056512513 RMA1.pdf RMA2.pdf RMA3.pdf RMA4.pdf ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I filled a complain at the BBB website and that must have caught Thermaltake's attention because days later they contacted me saying that there was some kind of "miscommunication" and they wanted to help me solve the issue. At the end they finally send back a replacement for the PSU.

Sup folks, Since today, my monitor has weird spots on the right side (see photo's below) no matter what pc I connect, and even when no pc is connected (on the "no signal" screen). Now I'll probably just call in to get a refund since I bought it less than half a year ago and I always take good care of my hardware. My question however is, can anyone of you identify the issue? Does anyone know what's the cause? The two spots look identical and are at the exact same spot vertically. Anyway, just look at the photo's below and you'll know what I mean. Thanks!

Hi, recently purchased asus MX247 monitor, and did backlight bleed test on black screen in dark room, and saw the bleed as a line in the top right corner of the display, and a semicircle shape in the bottom right corner, Will I be able to return it to the retailer as backlight bleed is a defect of the product and hopefully get a replacement or a refund?

Hi, I am looking at several new mouses, and I think I will like them all (3). I want to try each one somehow for a good few days each in a true home environment test. Is there anywhere where I can order a gaming mouse and after a few days if I really don't get on with it like a bad weight or too big etc, I return it. Baring in mind it will be opened and used but not used that much so maybe I could return it as like opened but not used? Anyway, i don't think amazon offer this. Also, I live in the UK so any UK sites like scan.co.uk , overclockers.co.uk , novatech.co.uk , ebuyer.com. Thanks, Luke.

Full back story: Recently got a new build. Got an Asus 980 Ti Strix and Corsair RM850. The 980 ti coil whined really badly. Got a replacement and still coil whines as badly. Did more research and apparently by RM850 is garbage. And that I should have gotten the EVGA 850W G2 to begin with. As of now, I still have my old 980 Ti Strix and the new replacement unit (due date for sending back the old one still 23 days away. ). However, I only have 8 days left before I can't request a refund for my RM850. If I do decide to refund it, the EVGA G2 costs 50 euros more, so I want to make sure there's enough reason for me to refund and upgrade. So, the questions I'm asking is: 1.) Is it really that likely for PSU to cause GPU coil whine? Does upgrading to a G2 have any chance in stopping the 980 Ti's from coil whining? I have researched and have found very few (like, 1 so far) of reported cases where RM850 caused GPU to coil whine and replacing PSU helped. 2.) Even if upgrading to the G2 don't solve the GPU coil whine, is the RM850 really that bad? I mean, I ran 3D Mark 11 and have tried stressing both GPU (980 Ti SLI) and CPU (4790K) at the same time. No random shutdown or any issue whatsoever (Except some artifacting in early test, although that seems to be gone now). Perhaps it's a long term thing? That the unit will degrade over time due to it's lower quality component? Is the G2 really that far superior over the RM850? All responses are appreciated, thank you!

Hello. I am posting here for some advice. I have a Samsung 850 Pro and it has terrible write speeds (and 4K QD32 reads). I couldn't find any information on the web about others having the same problem. Has this problem occurred to anyone before? Is there a way to fix it, e.g. firmware update? Thanks.

Hey guys. I live all the way over in New Zealand and I ordered a evga 980ti ftw edition in AUD for $964 AUD back in September but it got lost in shipping and ended up in Melbourne (I ordered it to Sydney). So I asked for a Classified edition which only costs $1 extra, but due to communication delays I wasn't going to be in Australia by the time they sent a new one, so I asked for a refund. So they said that it would take some time, but I still haven't received a refund (it's not November...) The last time I contacted them, they said it would take 6~8 weeks for the refund to be processed. Does anybody know why it takes them so long? Also my second question is, the Australian tax limit for overseas purchases is $1000 AUD dollars. However, my item was less than $1000 dollars and I was charged an estimate Customs and handling tax. I asked if I was going to get this refunded, but they insisted that the calculations were correct. Here's the invoice of the item: http://puu.sh/lpQ6k/932ce57517.png And here's my source for the $1000 threshold http://www.border.gov.au/Dutyratesandtaxes/Documents/lowvalueimportthresholdenhancedcampaignreport-published14jun11.pdf Thanks for reading.

Hey guys, I ordered a Cooler Master N200 yeaterday at around 5:00PM. With that I got 3-day shipping, and I also ordered the rush processing for $2.99. The thing is, I got a tracking number today AT 2PM! Isn't my package first on the shipping line? Normally when I order something, even without the rush processing, I get a tracking number the same day, even if I order in the afternoon. Is it because I ordered a case? Is this normal? I feel like I got hosed for paying extra... Thanks for the help in advance.
