I have a pair of KRK Classic 5's connected with Balanced TRS cables to an Arturia MiniFuse 1. I have an SVS SB-1000 kicking around that I want too add to the setup. I understand that studio setups typically route from Interface > Sub > monitors. However, the SB-1000 does not have balanced inputs or outputs. Is it possible to add the SB-1000 while retaining balanced audio for the monitors? I believe I could get the system to work with TS (unbalanced) to RCA cables from the interface to the sub, then another pair from the sub to the monitors. I would really like to retain balanced audio for the monitors. Could I use a pair of TRS splitters (one for L & one for R) out of the interface > balanced TRS cables (one from each splitter) to the monitors AND unbalanced TS to RCA cables to the sub (L & R channel)? Or would mixing the TS and TRS cables in the splitter make both unbalanced? Thanks in advance!

So I will be moving some time soon (within the next year) and I want to get myself a new setup which ensures privacy. I record videos and stream every now and then, though I do also have interest in singing, which I would like to try out in my new home. Do you have recommendations for acoustic panels which ensure privacy by not letting sound escape the room, but also ensure audio quality? I live in Germany, so our walls are pretty thick to begin with, but still. Are there also some microphone recommendations? I don't have a specific budget, but I'd like the things to not be expensive if they don't have to be. I've tried looking through websites, YouTube reviews and Amazon pages, though I don't really have an expertise in audio, so I don't really know what to look for. Any help is appreciated!

I'm Just curious of what people suggest out in the community in regards to gameplay or screen recording software. I am currently using Nvidia Shadowplay but have come across some issues with it lately. I believe this is something to do with how it records in a variable framerate as when certain games pause during a loading screen, the audio De-syncs (have tried few settings in Sony Vegas and even Handbrake aftrer doing research myself but no luck). Suggestions on fixing this will help or alternative to that, what software do others suggest that is not too taxing on the system. I am aware of OBS but suggestions of recording settings would be nice (for no loss of quality* for 1440p60). to throw more options in, I do own the new M1 Mac Mini and been experimenting with using OBS on it and doing capture card pass through on it but again, quality is an issue... but as said, i am experimenting with that anyway and would possibly be a last resort thing anyway.

Title says it all really, out of the main recording features (Screenshot, Record, Instant Replay and Instant GIF) only the screenshot function works and it's the only one I don't use haha. This issue wasn't always present, for the first month or so I could record/replay/gif, no problem. I can't recall when, but probably after a driver update none of the recording options work and either display "X feature OFF" or nothing at all. I've checked the general settings and they're all enabled with a path to save to. I haven't changed any setting since the issue occured and have updated the drivers for about 3months now and the issue is still present.

As per the title, all of my Nvidia-based recording/display sharing programs have been capturing the wrong display. I have a GTX 980 running driver 456.71 (I know, I don't update often) with the latest version of GeForce Experience. Nvidia's recording overlay, and GameStream / Moonlight which I both use very frequently are capturing the wrong display and there's no way to change it back to my primary display. My right-side display which is connected via DVI is being captured as opposed to my primary display which is connected via DisplayPort. Notably the DVI display is also the display that my UEFI info shows up on at boot-time. I've tried reinstalling GeForce experience and unplugging/replugging displays as per this comment: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-experience/14/259542/shadowplay-captures-wrong-screen/2829027/ And while both of these methods worked temporarily, upon restart my system goes back to capturing the wrong display. Other capture / streaming programs like OBS, Steam Link and Rainway have no issues, but I much prefer the Nvidia streaming solutions for their superior performance (in my experience). Anyone have an idea what the problem is? Thanks for the help

Okay so I keep hearing similar answers so I'm hoping some new eyes on the situation other than my own and my buddies will help. The short of it is after streaming for a few minutes the audio stops working and just makes clicks or audio spikes every couple of seconds. It does this on 3 different recording softwares. First thing to recognize is I know this system is outdated. It's a hand-me-down to my buddy. Second, this worked for months and only recently stopped. System information: AMD FX 8350 4.0 ghz Wraith cooler Msi 970a-g43 plus Asus radeon HD7770 2gb 250gb sandisk ssd 750w thermaltake psu To reiterate, I used this computer with a rx480 for streaming without a cap card and for recording and it worked fine. I swapped out my old hd7770 when I gave it to him because he got a cap card and wanted to stream smash. He successfully used it for months and it started having this issue. Many people have said the system can't handle it but it recorded fine for years and months with the current hardware. The unit records fine but after a range of 30 seconds to 5 minutes the audio starts spiking. I've swapped the graphics card back to the 480 to see if it was the card and it worked fine. We replaced the cap card (elgato hd60+.) The hardware isn't maxing out it's barely at 40%. I've tried reinstalling my drivers but not fully uninstalling like I saw on a video. We've tried changing hard drives minimizing settings. And a number of other things. I was hoping someone else has had this issue or maybe give me some ideas. I'm constantly trouble shooting because my buddy doesn't have much computer knowledge and my knowledge is just building the old computer and my new one. With watching linus and a few others over the years. I feel like I'm letting my friend down so any help would be great. Thanks in advance If you're asking for logs and stuff some light instructions would help as I'm not very knowledgeable on how to get those.

What happened is: I clicked on the Media save location to go to my clips and it showed me an empty folder, so I went to the software and pressed 'Reset Setting' (the arrow seen below) to see if it brought me to the location where my clips were actually stored. After pressing this I can no longer record 'any' clips. I have tried turning record desktop off, re-installing it, turning different settings on and/or off, I've restarted my pc, I also checked if it just doesn't allow my desktop recorded but it doesn't record at all. When I press 'Ctrl+Shift+S' a pop-up comes up at the top right that says it's turned off, when it isn't turned off at all. I can't find any way to change the Media Save Location, so i just don't see a way to fix this. On a side note: I did figure out where my clips were, I opened 'Explorer' and went to quick access and the folders were all there.

As MaximBady might say... "SOOOOOOO.... What is going on HERE?!" I hail from the old days of MS-DOS and 80x86 processors, DIP switches, IRQ juggling, and IDE-E. In those days, I was a whiz. Nowadays, not so much. Long story short, in 2018, I got interested in doing gameplay videos. I came into possession of a starter rig with a Ryzen 7-1700, 8GB RAM, a GT1030, and a 2 TB HDD. It did BeamNG.drive, GTA V, and American Truck Simulator quite well considering, until some building issues with BeamNG.drive got me thinking it might be time to upgrade. After much research, for $500, I got a 1TB WD Blue M.2 SSD, 32GB Crucial Ballistix RAM, and an Asus TUF Gaming GTX1650 Super 4GB OC. No flames, upgrading my 500W power supply wasn't an option and it's actually a good bang for the buck, loads better than the GT1030. Hiccups notwithstanding, after the cussing, fussing and dust cleared, my boot time dropped from 2:49 to 1:12 -- roughly 47% faster, and the machine ran quite a bit faster overall. Once I figured out a few things, my graphics were much, much better. However, the GTX1650, even being a Super, is pegged at 97%, and even OBS glitches a bit and appears to be cutting resolution to 33% recording from ATS. I had purchased a new 5900X in the hopes of gathering the pieces together to do another blitz upgrade, until MSI told me my 2018 model B450 would likely fry with the necessary BIOS update. This was already going to be expensive enough, now it appears I have to spend at least another $3000 to accomplish my objective, and it's not an option. Quite honestly, I'm fairly happy with my machine, I feel it delivers an awesome bang for the buck, and I simply can't justify $1500-$2200 for the RTX3060-3090 series. The RTX2060-2080 cards in the $600-$800 don't seem to be worth it over the 1650 either. And besides, LTT seems very big on turning some very unlikely candidates into surprise power players. Which is something I can definitely dig -- If I can make this work with my current gaming setup, I can tell people, "See? You don't need a 5900X or an RTX3090 to play this game well.." So then I recently discovered the trick of using EtherNet to mirror to a second machine for streaming. Why didn't I know this sooner? And here is where I start asking questions. Is this method also suitable for recording video for editing before upload? I've been told that 4 cores and 8 threads are necessary for this to work well. Not a problem, even that is cheaper than the alternative. However... I have a Lenovo M71E workstation that might be able to handle this, but with two shortcomings -- I believe it has either the i3-2100, or the i5-2500, which could be a little lacking on power. Unsure of RAM capacity, I believe it has 4-8GB. It is also a SFF workstation, and unlikely to accept a GPU. It also currently runs Ubuntu Linux, which would likely have to go. Also, it has been sitting for a long time in less than ideal conditions, thus I am not sure it is even operable. I have found some nice machines online for a great price with 6 core / 12 thread processing @ 2.9 Ghz, 8GB RAM with a 256GB SSD and, you guessed it, a GTX1650. While it seems this machine is capable of NDI recording with OBS, I want to be certain. Thoughts?

I have an old i3 6100 pc kicking around collecting dust and I was thinking of turning it into a NAS for storing game recordings and as a plex box as well because I'm running out of drive space in my case. I was originally thinking of just getting an external HDD and being done with it but it'd be a good little project for me to work on. I'm confident I'll be able to set it up but will I be able to record game footage straight to the NAS over LAN? I cba to transfer files at the end of each session but being able to record straight to the networked drives would be great! I'm also hoping to edit these files in Premiere after the fact. Are there any considerations I need to make when building and configuring this thing to be able to do all of this? I know I might want to add a network card for faster ethernet but apart from that I'm not sure. Any help would be great, thanks!

I play Apex Legends, when im 'off camera' i avg around 180+ fps. When i start streaming/recording, i lose almost all of my frames, with lows of 55 and highs of 100(very rarely hit 100) Im playing on low settings and recording and streaming in 1080p60 I have a Ryzen 9 5950x 16-core processor 32gb ram An AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 5 fans and water cooling (unsure of specifics, but pc never reaches high temp) <--- not sure if this is relevant, my PC knowledge is sub-par at best. Wondering if anyone can lend a hand, as I think i should be able to stream/record somewhat comfortably, and I have no idea what could be causing any issues I might be having. Thanks in advance.

Hi people, I'm looking to upgrade my PC in order to make it quiet enough to use for music production / audio recording - but for it also to be a decent gaming machine from time to time (noisy graphics card, PNY GTX 980). I've decided to make the switch from my 2013 Mac Pro (laptop) to Windows, as I've always been a PC man at heart plus can't justify the price of upgrading to a newer laptop (or Apple computer) simply to use Logic Pro X. Looking into the best ways to make it quiet on the cheap, Be Quiet and / or Noctua fans seem to be a good shout. My case is also a quite noisy (made by GameMax - cost £90 5 years ago, rip off and ugly), but I wonder whether better fans would negate that somewhat - I have looked at some other cases. I also wonder what can be done in terms of fan curves. Has anyone else looked into this for similar reasons? Any wisdom shared would be greatly appreciated! Specs: Ryzen 7 1700x (with stock cooler) PNY GTX 980 (factory superclocked) Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 5 (cheap) GameMax case GameMax stock fans Corsair RM650x modular PSU

This may not make any sense but i'll a give it a shot.... I am 'on charge' of running the tech team for a small church that my dad ministers, we use the (5 input) Fender Passport conference portable P.A system (not my choosing but we work with what we got) but it doesn't have any outputs for recording - plugging in to the headphone out won't work as it creates a loud buzzing sound. The ultimate goal is to live stream with obs. We have a focusrite scarlet solo we used in lockdown and could use a mixer but don't want to as we don't own a building and we have to setup and tear down every Sunday morning in a rented conference room. If any one has any solutions or if you require any extra information plz reply. Thanks - Calum P.s - I'm only in my early teens so don't have huge knowledge in this kind of stuff :D

What is the best use case for a NAS? Let’s say I have a decent PC, (don’t have a PC) and I have 1TB of storage, and I am a streamer/youtuber and I run out. Should I get a NAS, or just get more storage? If I am a game reviewer, should I get a NAS? There are many scenarios, but what is the best scenario for it?

Hi LTT community, I am a uni student and having zoom lectures on my Lenovo Windows laptop. The lecturers are not recording the zoom lectures therefore I have no way of referring back to the content after it ends. Is there a way where I can record the audio only of the zoom lecture for my future reference? The solution does not have to be contained within zoom (because I don't think there is any way) but rather the use other software that could be helpful. I have tried following an online tutorial in which I set up stereo mix and used audacity and set its input as stereo mix to record the lecture. However, I am listening to the lecture in my Bluetooth earbuds in a public environment and therefore, I think this messes up the "solution". When I set the input in audacity to my Bluetooth device instead, it only detects background sounds like the typing of keyboards and the environment around me (I suspect it is using the earbud's microphone as a input rather that the sound that is being channelled to its speakers).

Budget (including currency): $5,000 - $8,000 Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, OBS, Twitch, Halo Master Chief Collection, Halo Infinite, Satisfactory, Warframe, CSGO, Overwatch, Chivalry 2, Dying Light 2, Control, Microsoft Flight Sim, Half-Life: Alyx, Misc VR games, etc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hey, I'm a moderate pc gamer who has spent the last few years slowly transitioning from xbox and I've now finally made the decision to switch fully to pc gaming. I currently do some light video editing, photo editing, and graphic design for my workplace but that part of my job is growing. I also want to get into streaming as a hobby (for fun not with the intent of "making it big" or making any money off of it). Before now, I've been gaming on a Dell Inspiron Gaming Laptop with 16gb of ram, a core i7-7700HQ, and a GTX 1060 Max Q. I also own a seperate laptop with a more powerful processor in it and a 4k color-accurate screen for the graphics and media work. Bottom Line: I have little to no experience with building pc's and I don't want to screw it up. I've been looking at pre-builts to get a gaming desktop with hardline watercooling and all of the latest top-of-the-line hardware including an RTX 3090 24GB, AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, and 64 GB of ram. My favorite pre-built currently is the EK-Fluid Gaming PC 295 Vanquish. Do you have any recommendations for the best top-of-the-line prebuilt gaming pc's or do you have any other recommendations? I've heard about a lot of recent issues with the major pre-built companies especially Dell and I just want to make the most educated buying decision. I also haven't been able to find very many hardline watercooled pc's that don't have crappy pumps, low speed/low amounts of ram, or very little storage/slow storage. All I need is the pc. I have all the peripherals I need. Thanks for your help!

Not sure if this the right place or not, but yea... So I stream on twitch using a PC + Capture Card. I also use OBS to record to a local storage, for obvious reasons. PC SPECS: -Ryzen 5 3600 -Gigabyte Aorus X570 Elite w/ Wifi [I am hardwired, WIFI is just for when I need to fix the Hardwire/router] -GTX 1660 Super -MSI Mag CoreLiquid 240R My issue is when I'm streaming, everything is perfectly fine with the stream, no dropped frames, nothing. but when I watch the gameplay recording for my video edits, everything is smooth as silk, then 1 frame skips, runs smooth again for 5-10 minutes, then another frame skipped. Most the YT videos, and other sources I've checked to solve this issue all say lower my game settings, but I play on console, so those tips don't help. Thanks in advanced!

Hey What would be the best solution to record a stream straight to a cloud drive? I'm a streamer and want to hire an editor. My streams are over 10h long so the video file would be something close to 200gb and uploading it every time after the stream ends would not be ideal. Him/her downloading the vod from Twitch isn't really an either option because the loss of quality. What would the best solution be? Is setting up an local network drive and giving him the access is the only way? Any help would be much appreciated.

i have a plan to re-use my old HDD that still hold up since 2015, both sentinel's health are 100/100, and both capacity is 500GB each. Can i use it as NAS for my real-time recording or gameplay as additional storage while gaming and streaming? gonna build it with older parts/secondhand parts: my wishlist for NAS is: Pentium Gold G4400 Asrock B150M Pro4v 2400MhZ 8GB RAM (4x2) Adata SU650 120gb Evga 400W/ Bequiet U9 400W my olds Seagate 2x 500GB (already have) cheap local made case that enough to install 5x 3.5 HDD & 4x 2.5 drive (already have) (Raid controller card is unecessary for now) is it enough or is there any suggestion?, budget is about 3.5 Million Indonsian Rupiah or about $ 240

Hi! I’m looking to get a new graphics card for my PC, because my current Radeon RX 580 series is just not cutting it. It really struggles when I’m using OBS and Audition as well as running a game at the same time (understandably) but sometimes it literally makes my main monitor to black for a few seconds. (I do have two monitors too, a kinda weird combo. One Acer KG25IQ 24.5” and one HP2009m 21”ish lol) Attached is a list of my computer parts currently installed! Please let me know any recommendations you’d be willing to make, because I am pretty new to all this. Thank you, Twon82

Hello! My name is Hugo and I am inquiring about something I got for my dad on christmas! I am in love with computers, but I am not the most tech-savvy person. I ordered my dad the NZXT Starter Plus. Which at the time it seemed like a great build for the price. But I have researched youtube just to not find any answers to my questions. I am mostly concerned because my dad plans on recording his gameplay, and to be completely honest I am not sure if the computer will be able to record his games at a decent quality. The specifications are as follows: CPU: i5-9400f GPU: 1660 Super RAM: 2x8 3200mhz ram (dual channel) SSD: 512 M.2 SSD Thank you for reading my post! Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
