Budget (including currency): not above 1400 € Country: Croatia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming (cyberpunk, fh5, tlou, 1440p >60fps, not streaming); some raw photo editing from time to time Upgrading from i5-3470, rx560 and 16gb of ddr3. My current parts list: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/f4RJQP. I'm not sure about the gpu, 6800 non-xt performs on part with 7700xt which is newer and also has av1 encoding support, but since I don't stream nor video edit I figured it would be better to have more vram to future proof myself, am I right? as for nvidia, I don't really need any of the fancy features, so I went with amd since I think it's better value currently. I also don't have any monitor apart from an old vga one which I plan to use as a secondary display, so any recommendations are appreciated.

Budget: $1000 / $1500ish USD Country: USA Usage: Video Games, school work, editing photos If anyone has any component recommendations for a $1000 - $1500 gaming PC it would be greatly appreciated. I’m planning on buying in a month or two but I’m willing to buy sooner / earlier if needed. I already have peripherals and a 1080p 144 hertz monitor from my previous setup with my Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop so that doesn’t need to be included in the budget (I know around this price range it’s worth investing in a 1440p monitor and I’ll probably upgrade that in the future).

My primary display is starting to die. It works fine then randomly flickers, goes blank, etc. Before it dies completely I want to get a new monitor. I'm currently running a dual monitor setup, but I'm looking for some input from those who have used both ultrawide and dual monitors. 1: Can you run an ultrawide like a dual monitor setup? For example: I've got Youtube, Floatplane, Netflix, or w/e else on the second screen while gaming on the main one. Can I split an ultrawide down the middle (or into thirds) so I can still do this? 2: Performance hit or bonus? I'm running a 4080 Super, but I live in California where electricity cost is insane. Has anyone noticed a difference in power draw and/or FPS for dual monitors vs Ultrawide while using it in situations like Question 1? 3: If you've gone from Dual Monitors to Ultrawide what has your personal experience been? Positives and negatives. 4: If you run an Ultrawide setup and have used multiple Ultrawide monitors what is something you've learned to watch out for? Any Surprises? Thanks for anyone who reads and responds!

Budget (including currency): No limit but the cheaper the better Country: Luxembourg Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Android Studio, Stable diffusion (Automatic1111), Visual Studio Professional, UE5 , AAA games Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rF8qVW Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me with choosing components to upgrade my PC. I built it around 2012 following a Toms Hardware guide and since only upgraded the CPU, GPU and added some RAM and Storage. Some things I have in mind are: 1. Graphics Card I recently got into AI image generation and want to upgrade to a graphics card with more VRAM and thought about buying a RTX4080 16GB, I'm unsure whether or not there are cheaper/better options, but if so they are welcome! 2. Motherboard Since my Asus PRIME B350-PLUS is quite old and since I still have my old CPU (AMD Ryzen 5 1600) and GPU (GTX 1070), I thought about upgrading the MoBo in my current PC and to build a second PC with the old one to use as a NAS/host game servers etc. . Preferably with multiple M.2 Slots. 3.CPU I want to get a faster CPU preferably with more cores too as I'm afraid it'll bottleneck my system down the line. Since I get a new Motherboard I might as well jump platform if it's worth it. So either Intel or AMD. 4.PSU My current 650W PSU might not suffice anymore if I get a GPU upgrade so some recommendations for a new one would be appreciated. 5.RAM I don't know if my old RAM sticks are still good speed or not, so maybe I should change those too? Maybe even DDR5 if those are worth it by now. Sorry if this is asking a lot, I'm an Software Engineer but know pretty much nothing about hardware so any help is appreciated!

I'm looking to potentially upgrade some parts, though, I'm not incredibly certain which I should go for so I figured I'd ask here. Also, if I'm missing anything below - please let me know! This is my first time sharing. Current specs: CPU: Intel i5-11600K - 11th Gen Mobo: ASUS TUF GAMING Z590-PLUS Fan: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO V2 Case: Zalman ATX Mid Tower PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 GT 80 Plus Gold GPU: MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8GB RAM: OLOy Blade RGB 64GB DDR4-3600 (4×16GB) HDD: WD Blue 1TB SSD: SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2 2280 1TB Monitor 1: Sceptre IPS 24" 165Hz (1920x1080) Monitor 2: BenQ MOBIUZ EX240N 24" 165Hz (1920x1080) 1. Budget & Location I'd prefer it be under $1K USD. I'm US based. 2. Aim I mostly use my PC for gaming. Some examples being Black Desert, FPS games such as CoD and the likes, FFXIV, and so on. Those are my most played games in order, but I can list more if needed. 3. Monitors I use two monitors currently, but I have thought about getting a third. I'm not fully decided on that, though. 4. Peripherals I don't need peripherals or OS at the moment. 5. Why are you upgrading? It's been several years since I made any significant upgrades, so I feel my specs are somewhat outdated and could use some fine-tuning.

Before I get bombarded by "muh just use whatever you prefer" I can't sadly because I have some limitations due to the PC that the company sent out to me to work on. For starters, I need a pair of headphones, ideally earbuds, that are wireless. I cannot use Bluetooth to connect them to the PC as they do not allow me to do so in the group policy, so I am stuck with USB(USB A or USB C both work, I have ports available for both) wireless earbuds. Additionally, it is not necessary for them to have a microphone, I have a desk mounted microphone that handles that for me (Elgato Wave 3). Another reason I would prefer earbuds, is because I wear glasses the entire time while working, and anything that wraps around my ear or covers it directly causes a weird pressure that presses my glasses up against my head which I would have to solve by wearing my glasses all crooked. Battery life isn't the biggest concern because I would only be wearing one ear bud at a time while the other would be able to charge, this is mainly a preference I have because I like being able what goes on around me. Currently, I am using these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CHVWJP7N (EKVANBEL Bluetooth Headset) and while it is not terrible, it is very hard to make it sit comfortably in my ear for longer than an hour and it gets even worse when I go from one ear to the other because the earbud tip itself is just not all that comfortable. Another small squabble I had was that it does take a little longer than I think it should to put on because getting that little loop around your ear just isn't as intuitive as I would like it to be. I have also tried this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C13ZK3LS (LEVN Wireless Headset) which also was not terrible, I actually like these a good amount, but I am not a fan of anything that is going to sit on my head for as long as 8 hours a day on really busy days. Plus that earcup was rather deceitful and did not include anywhere nearly enough cushion to not hurt the outer part of my ears after 2-3 hours of usage, I would often take it off for a small break and be surprised by sore ears. This was also what was causing that weird pressure against my head that would cause me to wear my glasses crooked, the problem I mentioned in the first paragraph of this post. I have started looking at some alternatives and was wondering if anyone has used any of these? And of course I am also open to recommendations. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BM23XX5L (Jabra Evolve2 True Wireless Earbuds) These seem very much perfect, but the price is a bit yeesh and I was curious as to if anyone here has tried them and could testify to their quality? And by that I mainly mean if there is any hassle when it comes to them connecting to a computer or if they are not as consistent as one would hope. The fit is semi important but as long as its comfortable for at least 2-3 hours at a time, no big deal and even then, I can overlook it to a degree as long as they don't cause me pain in my ears lmao. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B87MQG2N (Soundcore VR P10 Gaming Earbuds) These seem like a good option as well and significantly better when it comes to price. Although if opinions lead to "just save up for the Jabra's" then I would be able to do so, but if I could away without having to spend that much out right then I would like to. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B72HWWXH (LG TONE Free True Earbuds T90) These seem like a good middle ground between the Jabra's and the Soundcore's, and while they don't feature a USB dongle, they have the ability to connect the headphone case to a computer via a wire which would then turn the earbud case into a big dongle that charges the headphones as well. My main questions with these earbuds is how the connectivity is between the case, earbuds, and pc. I know LG has other models that have the same feature that turns the case into a dongle but these were the ones I had saved. So yeah, these seem like a good middle ground, my main concerns as always is just comfort and more importantly connectivity. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C32WZJ3N (ZDMYY Bone Conduction Headset) This is a bone conductive headset which is kind of a best of both worlds kind of deal where I wouldn't wear anything in my ears for hours at a day, but I also wouldn't have a big headband sitting atop of my head. The brand name leads me to think that these are just dropped shipped from Ali Express or something. Not inherently a bad thing, just makes me a little weary in terms of build quality. My main worry with these kinds of headsets is that they might get heavy feeling or uneasy on my ears, and I don't think they'll affect my placement for my glasses too badly and I don't see them bothering me too badly in that regard. And then another thing I am worried about that is mainly just with these, is how they might sound. I've never tried anything bone conductive before so it would be my first and a very new experience for me. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BQ1DJMV8 (Poly Voyager Free 60+) These seem like an alternative to the Jabra Evolve2's and while I have not previously heard of the brand, they do seem to be a little more prominent in the work from home/conference headphone space. And my worries are again in the same ballpark as with the Jabra's and the other headphones, so mainly worried about connectivity and comfort, sound quality isn't 100% necessary but would definitely be a positive. Honestly, right now this feels like I'm kind of searching for a needle in a haystack trying to find something that fits all my wants and needs so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for a good pair of wireless headphones that would just be overall good. I live in Lithuania, and while I would greatly prefer to be able to buy them off the shelf here locally, I would also be fine with importing from Amazon Needs: Wireless (Necessary for VR and I also can't go back to wired with how much I walk around my room) Good range (I should be able to go downstairs separated by 3 or so walls and still hear it) Good battery (Charge it no more than once a day, I use it easily 12hrs a day, preferably I would charge them once every two) Good quality audio (I don't care about perfect vocals or stuff like that, I just want it to not clip the peaks to the point where ever S hurts to hear and it shouldn't distort every sound if I'm in a game and an engine is running) Proper over-ear design, not one of the flimsy plastic ones that wobble like crazy and would break at the slightest bend Preferably: Lasts a long time in terms of durability, doesn't fall apart after a year Proper software and easy to deal with USB-C for charging, I'm running out of Micro USB cables by now And finally, one feature I will miss from my current Arctis 7 is the game/chat toggle, is there any way of doing this in a headset that doesn't support it? I Really like being able to move the dial a bit when I need to quickly adjust music/game volume I think I might be asking for a bit much for <150€, but if there is a headset that matches this criteria, I would be thankful if you could share it. If there is none, then preferences are arranged top to bottom in the needs and preferably categories. If possible, getting one that does this for even cheaper would be great. I don't care about studio quality and perfect frequencies or whatever, I just want something that I don't need to think about And that's the primary thing that the headset should do: Not be noticed. It needs to just not be distracting. I really hope I'm not asking for too much here, I hope the geniuses here can find something great for me Thanks in advance

headphone advice Need help picking a pair of new headphones please
Austhebossman posted a topic in Audio
Hi, I need some help picking a new pair of headphones for daily driver use of gaming, watching live streams, listening to podcasts and music. Comfort and sound quality are key for me as I will have them on for hours at a time. I'm willing to spend up to $300 USD. I currently have astro a40 TRs with their mixamp. (Braces for collective gasp because Astro isn't the best interface, I'm going to update to a better one soon) but I always loved the comfortable cloth style feel of the ear cups as shown in the picture above. I can't stand the overly puffy leather ear cup style as they make my ears hot and sweaty after a while. I absolutely hate headphones with noise canceling so please open back headphones. I just like to be able to hear things around me and not have my own voice be muffled while I speak with them on. Wireless with a good daily battery would be a plus but is very much not a requirement. Any and all recommendations would be appreciated, thank you!- 3 replies

I'm looking for a router because my ISP provided one isn't very reliable. I didn't think I was looking for anything complicated, but apparently, I am, because I'm having trouble finding what I want. Requirements: Doesn't look like a dead spider (or an alien ship, or Sauron's crown, depending on how you look at it) with a ton of antennas coming out on the top. Man does that look annoy me. A simple boxy look would be ideal, but I can do a couple antennas. No suspicious telemetry. Which eliminates Amazon's solution, and maybe Google's? I'm not sure. Nice to have: WiFi 6. I have a couple devices that are compatible, so why not? 2+ LAN ports. I could work with 2, but 3+ would be ideal as it'd give me a spare for a future device. Gigabit speed is fine but higher might be good for the future I guess. Nice to have: reboots don't take forever I don't need a mesh system. I live in an apartment. So it would be pretty wasteful to buy something whose main selling point is its mesh capabilities. I found Ubiquiti's router, but on top of being a little on the expensive side, it's been out of stock forever, so I don't think that's an option. Can someone help me? It looks like my criteria, which I figured were pretty basic, aren't at all and are eliminating pretty much everything. Am I missing something?

Hey everyone:) So Im gonna start studying multimedia-production in a couple of weeks and i need to buy a new laptop for uni. They gave me some ideal specs but i honestly dont really know how much i really need. The Laptop needs to be able to run all of the Adobe Suite Programms (Photoshop, Indisign, Premiere Pro etc.) as well as my DAW Ableton Live 11 without problems. It doesnt necessarily need to be able to process 4k video ultra fast, but ill take what i can get. I also want to be able to use it for live music performances with live autotune tracking. Focus is on media production though. Since i will use it at uni and will be carrying it around a lot it would also be prefarable to be pretty lightweight but performance is more important. Im also leaning to go with windows since thats what im accustomed to and i have a surface pro that i want to use as a draw pad, but if a mac option would be waaay better bang for buck wise i might make the switch. Im looking for something that will hold up well for at least a couple of years. Price is not the biggest concern but i would like to stay under 2k swiss francs if thats possible. But if thats not possible for what I need i can also go over that. These are the "ideal specs" i got from my uni as refernce: - 64 bit - 2.3 GHz 8 core i9 /Ryzen 4000 series processer or higher - GeForce RTX 2070 with 8GB of maxQ Cache - At least 16 GB RAM, preferably 32 or more - at least 500 GB SSD, preferably more - good to have: integrated sd card reader I would like to match these reccomendations for the most part, but if you think i dont need that much thats even better. Thanks for any reccomendation any of you might have :)

Hi all, First time poster. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a new laptop. I've got an acer nitro 5 spin but it's been well used and the battery life is ~1.30 hours and since I got the laptop and some keys have stopped working. I've moved away from gaming and more into music production. I still play the occasional game while I'm away but I don't know what I'm looking with specs. I was looking at the Dell G15 and Dell XPS 15 Any recommendations for a laptop that's between £1000-£1750 would be perfect! Thanks

Hello everyone! I recently bought an Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 laptop with the AMD chipset which doesn't support thunderbolt for some reason. That being said, I want to purchase some kind of easy, one-cable solution to plugging my 1440p 240Hz monitor (and use as close to it's full capabilities as I can, plugged in preferably through displayport 1.4), a keyboard (USB-A), headphones (USB-A), a microphone (USB-A), some kind of charging higher than the power consumption at load, maybe speakers (USB-A) and a mouse (USB-A) and an ethernet cable that works well with USB-4 (apparently it's flakey with thunderbolt devices even though thunderbolt is in the spec). Do you guys have any suggestions for a dock that would work for me?

Hey everyone! I’m looking to buy a gaming laptop for gaming + School. After some research I found that the best value for money option where I live happens to be the Lenovo Legion 5 with a QHD display and a RTX 3050 Ti (anything better than this is beyond my budget). Now this config is available with both an i5 12500H and a Ryzen 7 6800H at basically the same price, which CPU would you recommend performance and long term stability wise?

Soooo, thanks for taking time to discuss my build. Truly appreciate any advice in advance. Reason for this post: I could use recommendations if my part list will fit together and if I can get any alternatives. Backstory: My previous laptop bricked and I'm in need of something super reliable and future proofed for upgrades down the road. I've been taking recommendations from my friends and made this list. Current parts list: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/srivastav/saved/#view=GWYbLk Budget & Location: I live in Ottawa, ON Canada. My budget is give or take $2000CAD Aim: ****** My primary purpose is to use for Android app development, building random application, may occasionally use for 4k video editing. Will install ton of softwaresn for sure. Also, I have a habit to open billion chrome tabs. I am not planning this for gaming, just for work. If in future I plan on learning game development, I wish this build will support some upgrades. Monitors: I have triple 24inch monitors (1920x1080) Lenovo thinkvisions hooked to my work laptop. I would love to use these monitors for my new desktop, I'm comfortable using only 2 monitors if ports are limited. Peripherals: I have mouse and keyboard so I'm good with that. Having a built in WiFi and Bluetooth would be nice, if not I can run lan cable and additional plugin's. I don't mind. Key points: 1. Not planning for overclocking. 2. Don't care of esthetics, I will for sure throw it under my table. 3. Don't care of what case design can be. But would be nice to have good working room in it. So a full case is preferred. 4. No preference towards a company or product not a fanboy. I care only about reliability and performance. 5. Not that handy with initial setup so if you say update bios before i update something, I'm like uhmmm I'll just skip that motherboard.... 6. I have a fresh windows 10 in a pendrive, recently downloaded. 7. * Important, I'd prefer if I can find this part in Amazon.ca over newegg over anything else. 8. ToDo: will add new notes below..... More: A. I understand Xeon processor is something to look at but I'm not sure if I can effort and understand if it matters! B. Interesting in getting new parts only, had bad experience with used parts. C. Not buying any graphics card. I'd prefer to have a built in GPU Soo, yeah, as I get any inputs I'll update my cart in Amazon.ca..... Again I can't thank you enough for ur recommendations. Please be patient with me, I suck at this. Lot my friends are like just buy a prebuild! I truly wanna try this! I hope I won't regret this decision and reaching out to Linus Tech tips. Thanks, SJ

Budget (including currency): ~900€ (for a 2 montor setup) Country: Austria Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (mostly esport titles like csgo, overwatch, ect) and watching videos Other details Current PC has a i7-4790, GTX1080, 16GB Ram. Planning to build a new system in about 1-2 years. Hi everybody, I have a problem. In 2 months i will move to a bigger place to live, and for that i'm planning to upgrade from my trusty old friend the BenQ XL2420T (1080p120hz) to something less ancient. First i planned on getting a 1440p with 144hz (-or more) for gaming, a 4k60hz for watching videos and my old one as a third screen (Just because I can :D). But after some research i saw that a setup with mixed Hz seems to cause a lot of problems and is not advised. I don't know what the best solution might be for me, and so i came here to look for some advice on the best solution. Is there a way to make that setup work or do i have to live with the fact that all of them have to be "expensive" 144hz (-or more^^) monitors? I also appreciate any advice to "What resolution is a good choice for gaming" and "is more then 144hz worth it?"because I'm still not to sure about those things aswell. Greetings and thanks in advance English is not my first language. I hope everything makes sense :D

Budget (including currency): Php 40,000 to 55,000 (Philippine Pesos) or $823 to $1,131 Country: Philippines Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Kerbal Space Program (CPU intensive), Star Citizen, XCOM 2, Minecraft. Workloads include light editing and maybe some Blender animations. Also, a lot of writing. Other details: Currently upgrading from an HP EliteBook 8460p from years and years ago. It has an i5-2520M, 8GB of RAM and Intel HD Graphics 3000. I am willing to accept as low as a GTX 1080 Ti or a GTX 1650 if the total price is relatively cheap. Amazon and Newegg products are acceptable, but the total shipping costs shouldn't pass the budget by more than $300. Getting parts locally is preferable, but US sellers are also good. Local sellers are those such as Lazada, and local Philippine retailers. When and if picking parts, please just take a peek at the reviews. Only one monitor is fine, and the budget includes peripherals such as the latter and keyboard/mouse. Windows 10 should be included in the price unless a legitimate retailer can be found who sells it for cheap. I also wish for a comfortable and relatively quiet keyboard.

Hello, good day. I am looking for a new router to buy as BT smart hub 2 is driving me crazy. It isn't fast, and the UI is a total mess + the range is fairly poor. I have a budget of around £150 and have seen have few routers what have peaked my interest. I am looking for at least dual-band and gigabit speeds. We have a decent amount of smart devices within the house and need the range to be a decent amount better so it can do the far corners of the house better. I do have some extenders somewhere I can use to reach outside buildings. Also WPA3 Some I have been looking at are: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-RT-AX58U-Dual-Band-throughput-Aiprotection/dp/B099ZLY9SC there was a few tp-links (nighthawk was one i think idk). There is just a __ ton of routers out there, I find one what I think is good but then I find a different Any information and recommendations will be great. (Please make sure you use UK sites and pricing GBP). (need any more info just ask )

Budget (including currency): 2272$ Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Primarily gaming, typically Valorant or Rust and a variety of other games Other details: I currently have a pc with these specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 Chromax.black Motherboard: AS Rock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 ATX AM4 RAM: Patriot Viper Steel 16 GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-4400 CASE: NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Power Supply: Adata XPG Core reaction 850 W gold SSD: 1TB Fans: 2 corsair ICUE QL120 I am fairly happy with my current build and would typically not upgrade; however, I am coming into about 2272$ from a tournament that must be used on computer parts. Because of this, I will be upgrading parts of my PC. I am planning to upgrade to an AMD Ryzen 9 5900x as it gives a massive increase in FPS in the current games I typically play. I obviously am planning to keep my 3070 the same as it is brand new and it would be very hard to find a better GPU that would be worth it with the current market state. That said, I will still have about 1700$ by my estimate to upgrade the other parts of my PC. My question is what are some good recommendations for other parts of my PC that I should upgrade? I am looking to spend all the money available as it would be a waste otherwise. Some current questions running through my head upgrade wise are what parts will be affected and need upgrading and what parts are probably ok. I also want it to look nice so I plan to get a new case and possibly a few new fans. I assume I need a new CPU cooler but will I also need a new motherboard and power supply? I want to upgrade my RAM to possibly 32-64 GB. Which would be better? Any and all recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi I am in the market for a new laptop since the current one im using has been set ablaze (I have no idea how it was just in my backpack apparently not in sleep mode). Due to this it has given me reason to buy a new one that doesnt suck like the old one and doesnt crash everytime i click on davinci resolve. I prefer to have a slimmer model, but I would also like to have expandable RAM and storage. i know i cant have both but I am open to any suggestions given and will do some more research with recommendation given. Thanks in advance!

A few weeks ago, I got a new laptop to replace my old laptop (as it was riddled with physical damage), and so far, it's been a great laptop to use. Laptop is a HP Pavilion 15-eg1073cl with: -i7-1095G7 -16 of RAM at 3200mhz -intel iris xe Graphics -512 GB of SSD Memory It's pretty run of the mil specs and gets through all my daily productivity and gaming. But I'm looking to invest in maximizing the potential of the laptop in the near future, so I'd would like recommendations on who makes the best RAM, Thermal Paste (Not liquid metal), and SSDs to get the best performance for my laptop.
