Originally when I started playing this game, the FPS was steady at 60 with Vsync on. I do not have high refresh rate monitor so I keep VSync on and limit FPS to 60. Off late, I have been seeing that the game plays only at below 50 FPS and sometimes drops to 34 fps. What could be going wrong? I am under impression that my 12 GB RTX 3060 is capable of handling RDR2 at 1080p and 60 Hz. PC Configuration in my Signature.

So I got my new pc with the zotac rtx 3070 twin edge oc I7-10700K 16gb ram (single stick) msi b460 motherboard 700W power supply And I feel that the gpu itself is really underperforming, maybe it is the combination of the cpu and gpu that is causing the problem? I don't really know that much to tell. An online bottleneck calculator told me that the bottleneck is about 5% at 1440p and it was "great". What caught my attention the most is the framerate in the RDR2. I'm playing on 1440p 144hz with Vulcan and all setting on high. The built-in benchmark shows me the average fps to be around 85. It's rather low right? On a new cutting-edge gpu with high setting not even in 4k. I know it's not a 3090 but still. So I checked some old benchmarks of the RDR2 on older card and the guy with everything on high in 1440p, (I copied his settings) and he got the average of 88 fps with the 2080 super which I would consider as "less powerful"? So I did the 3Dmark benchmark (attachment) and it says the score is great but it is below average. I don't really want to overclock the gpu. What is also weird is that when I change the monitor to a 1080p one the fps doesn't really change that much. During load like the benchmark the temperature of the gpu doesn't exceed 70/71 degrees Celsius - hwmonitor ss also included - Even though it says 100% gpu usage I feel like it doesn't really unleash its power. So in the end, is the score perfectly fine or is the gpu just "bad" and I am missing something?

so i bought a new RTX 3070 ti founders edition to complete my build from a while back but i have some problems with since i got the card. specs: GPU RTX 3070 ti CPU AMD 5800x RAM 16 GB 3200 MHz PSU cooler master 850 watt 80 plus gold Storage 1 TB M.2 SSD and 2x 1 TB HDD Windows 11 the problem i have is that so far 2 games just close out of nowhere, i am just playing the game and the window just closes no crash report. the games where this happens are Red dead redemption 2 and just cause 3. i could not find it anything that could cause this, i have tried vulkan and directX for RDR2 and run both games with Vsync on. i have not had any other issues with the new GPU except a one time crash with ghost recon wildlands.

Hello Lately I have this issue in Red dead redemption 2 where I get sudden FPS drop from 80 - 100 FPS to 4 FPS. Normally the GPU is using 220-230 watts of power, but before the lag happens I noticed that my GPU hits around 7.4 GB of Vram allocation and 6.2-ish GB of actual Vram used by the game. Then the huge FPS drop happens. GPU utilization spikes to stable 100% and power draw drops down to 60 - 80w and the result is 4 fps that last a few seconds or a minute or until I leave an area in the game. Then it stops for a minute and then it keeps happening until I restart my PC. Restarting my PC is the only way how make the game smooth with no issues for at least 20 minutes. I was able to play for 2 hours at most with no issues. Things I tried so far: - Deleting drivers using DDU and installing new ones multiple times - Decreasing graphic settings in game especially textures - Checked all of my temperatures using Hwinfo64 and I didn't find anything our of the ordinary except low GPU power draw of course. - Downclocking my GPU memory and core. Important thing to note is that didn't experience this issue in any other game except RDR2, but I also couldn't find anyone else experiencing this issue with RDR2. Other games I played: - Battlefield V = absolutely no issues - Modded Minecraft with shaders = no issues - Control = No issues at all no matter the graphic settings. - Elite dangerous: Oddysey = No issues... mostly. Ocasionally I had lower FPS due to power draw dropping from 220w to 150-ish - Post Scriptum = No issues - Hell let loose = no issues - War Thunder = no issues - Call of Duty: Warzone = suspiciously low GPU power draw again. No matter the graphic settings. My GPU simply didn't want to go over 160w - Witcher 3 = No issues - Mafia: Definitive edition = no issues After hours and hours of testing and looking at numbers I realized I could replicate the lag in RDR2 by getting to roughly 6.2 GB of actual Vram usage not allocation (It can be done with MSI afterburner) So I maxed out everything that eats Vram in all games I have and I noticed that no other game that I could test went over 6.2 GB of actual Vram usage. So I asked a friend if he could borrow me Cyberpunk 2077 and he did so back to testing. I maxed out a lot of settings to get Vram nicely high. I managed to get actual Vram usage to 7.1 GB but nothing. No issues at all. I had 25 FPS at that point because GPU itself wasn't fast enough, but no issues with power draw or Vram happened. I was driving around the city like that for at least 30 minutes. So I'm getting really desperate here. Because I can't find anyone else having issue like this anywhere on the internet and I just really don't know why It's happening becauese: - If It's hardware issue, why I can't replicate it in any other game at all no matter how much I try? - If It's problem with the game, why I'm the only one experiencing it? I'm thinking It could be some software issue. I didn't try reinstalling whole windows yet. Does anyone have any clue what could be going on here? And how is it even possible for GPU to be 100% utilized, but only using half of It's power draw? Oh yea last thing Specs: GPU: Asus Dual RTX 3070 8GB OC CPU: I5 10400f Mobo: Asus Prime Z490-P Ram: HyperX Fury 2x8 GB 3600Mhz CL17 (I'm running XMP) PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-750 Gold SSD1: 64 GB with Windows on it (5 GB of free space) SSD2: 1 TB with all the games above mentioned installed there. (100 GB of free space) HDD1: 1 TB (80 GB of free space) Running 3440x1440 144hz monitor.

So I've been getting frame drops pretty constantly in both of rockstar's newest games on my high-end PC every 5-10 seconds, about a frame or 2 drops from 60 fps to 20-30. Specs: Windows 10 Home 64-bit Intel Core i9 @ 4.10GHz 16.0 GB 2133 DDR4 G.SKILL MSI MAG Z590 TORPEDO (MS-7D08) (U3E1) 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti (EVGA) 931GB Samsung SSD 870 EVO 1TB (SATA (SSD)) 232GB Samsung SSD 750 EVO 250GB (SATA (SSD)) 2794GB WL3000GSA6454 (SATA ) NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM) The games are installed on the SSD 870 EVO 1TB What I've tried so far (NONE HAVE FIXED THE ISSUE) Capping my fps and/or capping my monitor's Hz Defragging all of my storage devices Scanning for malware and viruses Resetting the clock speeds on my CPU Turning on and off Vsync both in the NVIDIA control panel and in-game Lowering and turning up the settings in-game and in GeForce Resetting my virtual memory Going through task manager and eliminating tasks Clearing space on my SSD in order to eliminate bottlenecks Checking task manager to see if my ram, cpu, or gpu was capped out at 100% (none are) Switching from DX11 to DX10 Repairing corrupted windows files Reinstalling both games Disabling fullscreen optimization My GPU is not overclocked and never has been, this has been an issue when I had a gtx 1070 as well. When I play GTA 5 the ram usually caps out at around 8gb despite having 16gb of ram, that might be the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated, here's a youtube video of my stutter

Alr so I have: R7 2700 5600xt and 16gb of ram My friend has: i7 8700 1060 and 48gb of ram!!! Now he claims in RDR2 he gets 80fps ultra settings. In theory, both our computers should be hitting high 30 to low 50 fps on ultra. Now I feel like he is pulling my leg as he is a very overconfident person and always wants to be seen as better. Now, I get 400-600fps on Minecraft pvp and parkour servers, my friend on the other hand gets around 1000fps! Now mind you, his is prebuilt, mine is custom built. Is there some strange voodoo going on or am I doing something wrong?

Unusual error 0xc0000005 in the middle of playing a game
Sebikovec posted a topic in Troubleshooting
So i recently built a new computer that has a Ryzen 3 3100 paired with an ASRock Pro4-F B450M and 16GB of 3000mhz RAM (tested at @ 1.35v) from g.skill (Aegis one) combo'd with a 1660 Super from Gainward and i've been having issues. I went into the BIOS and set the XMP profile on my RAM like anyone would do. At first there were no boot up issues but i started getting BSODs when i was multitasking. so i went back into the BIOS and set the RAM to 2933Mhz @ 1.35v and the BSOD stopped. But then my games started crashing very randomly. Not at startup, but like in the middle of the game. So i went back once again and set the voltage @ 1.30 and that fixed the issue in most of my games. Now RDR2 is crashing and so i set the RAM once again to its default state (2133mhz @ 1.20v) and that didnt fix the issue. So now im very confused. I searched it up on google and did every step that was mentioned and still no fix. At the moment im doing a registry fix as i think that might be the issue because its taking unusually long. I also dont think that its my RAM because even though i defaulted the clock speed, the error still occurs. Should i run a MemTest86? Im sorry if this is annoying to read but i dont know how to make this more simple. Thank you for any reply, and literally anything will help alot. Much love. -
I just installed RDR2 and I have HORRIBLE frame stutters and hitching. It's made the game unplayable. (I don't think it's hardware limitations. Ryzen 9 3900X, 32GB RAM, RTX 2080Ti, NVME storage.) I saw a fix for it by changing some starting parameters by going into the R* launcher settings tab and going into the start settings and changing a line, but I cannot find it. Appreciate any tips!

Hi, first time posting in awhile... Anyway, this weekend Red Dead Redemption 2 was on sale for only $20 USD, so I bought it off Steam. When it finished installing it prompted me to install the Rockstar Games Launcher, which I did. I'm about 45 minutes to an hour into the game and I keep blue screening, at this point it's happened more than 5 times. I've tried turning the graphics to the lowest quality and nothing seems to help. Additionally, I verified the game files on Steam and it was all there. My friend and I both bought the game this weekend off Steam, and he seems to have no trouble at all. (we have similar PCs, I have a few higher end parts such as GPU and CPU) Specs: Ryzen 5 3600 3060 Ti Founders Edition DDR4 RAM 16GB (8GBx2) 3600MHz Asus LC240 650 W PSU The game is installed on a 2TB Seagate HDD with plenty of space left. I can't think of anything else to mention here, but if anyone needs more information please ask! Thanks for the help!

So a little while ago i set RDR2 to install, it got to about 86 out of 116 gb before i paused it and forgot to restart it. Well I remembered to restart it today (probably 1+ years later) and it jumped from 116 to 206 GB nearly doubling in size. I get its had updates but a double in file size seems extreme. Is this something that could be fixed by validating files? Is the rockstar launcher not recognising the old downloaded files? It acknowledges that 86gb have been downloaded though it hasn't entirely restarted.

Hi all, I recently treated myself to a copy of RDR2 and issues with the rockstar launcher aside. Once I finally downloaded the game I am unable to get into the story mode, online or benchmark. It will sign me into social club before taking me into the start menu but will not launch any further. I have not been able to successfully launch this game since purchase. Another issue is no sound despite the correct audio output device being selected by the game. List of "fixes" I have attempted. Integrity check Reinstalled rockstar launcher Disabled VSync Enabled RDR2 and Rockstar launcher in firewall Deleted RDR2 settings file Updated graphics driver Restarted PC Waited 30 minutes for game to load Lost hopes and dreams Needless to say this has been an annoying experience. Only thing I've noticed is it takes a while for the revolver loading icon to appear and even when it does the game will not load further. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Can i play it on 00:01 a clock or do i have to wait until morning ? (Europe)

I built my current PC probably about 5 years ago or so. And it has served me really well, but it is starting to show some age for sure. I was thinking about simply upgrading my current build to hold me over for another year or two, but I don't see any easy upgrades that would be worth the time/money (used i7-4790k's are going for well over $150 on ebay, and my cpu is already my bottleneck). My question is when should I be looking to do this new build? And any suggestions for parts. Would it possibly be worth it to wait for the rumoured RTX3000 GPUs? Or would it be better to do this new build now to try and salvage any kind of resale value on my current parts (and maybe take advantage of upcoming black friday sales in a few weeks)? Basically I would only need this PC for gaming, so that's all it really needs to do well. I wouldn't be salvaging much from my current PC except for my storage drive since I want to upgrade everything else for one reason or another. And I wouldn't want to spend much more than around $1200. My main motivation for beginning to look at a new build is I am starting to struggle to run some newer games, especially with my 1440p monitor. Specifically RDR2 (although I think at least part of that is it's currently a mess as far as optimization goes, I can't run the game at all). But in general I am hoping for a no compromises 1440p gaming build. My current specs are: i5-4690k ASUS h97-plus EVGA GTX 970 4x4gb G.skill 2133 ram 128gb SSD + 2TB Seagate Firecuda Corsair H80i AIO Cooler Master 550W PSU Acer 27" 2560x1440 75hz monitor And in case I decide to do this new build in the near future, the build I quickly put together already is: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor $234.37 @ Amazon Motherboard Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard $119.99 @ Amazon Memory G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $86.99 @ Newegg Storage Corsair MP510 960 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $124.99 @ Amazon Video Card EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB XC GAMING Video Card $539.99 @ B&H Case NZXT H710 ATX Mid Tower Case $139.99 @ Amazon Power Supply Corsair CXM 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply $79.98 @ Amazon Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $1326.30 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-11-09 23:47 EST-0500 A few general questions I have about my proposed build is what motherboard is best? I have an ASUS now and know they're pretty good. But is a B450 chipset fine for me? I'll take any suggestions as far as motherboards go, there is a lot of options here. I know the x570 offers slightly higher RAM speeds but I think 3200 is enough, idk what other benefits it offers. And besides that the only thing I'm looking for in a mobo is maybe some good lighting/rgb headers. If there's any other features/specs that may be important for me to look for let me know (I know some mobos offer reinforced PCI-e slots for today's heavy GPUs, not sure how important this may be?). And I kind of assumed a 3600x is the best processor for gaming that I can afford at this price. I also looked at the i5-9600k, not sure if there is a huge difference in gaming performance if any at all. I went with NZXT's bigger H710 versus the 510 because I was hoping to use the stock air coolers for now, then maybe down the road doing a full liquid loop? I have taken a look at corsairs offerings for liquid cooling and they seem pretty good. Estimated wattage on PCPartPicker is 404W, I assume semi-modular is fine for my use, and 650W should be enough, but if you think I should look for a bigger PSU let me know. Thanks again for any advice or help!

Hello I'm planning to buy Red Dead Redemption 2 but I'm wondering if my system unit can run it. CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 GPU: Palit 1050ti Dual OC 4gb RAM: 8gb Hyper X Fury 2666mhz I want to play that on 1080p Does someone here has the same build with mine? IF yes whats your settings and FPS? thanks !

Hi there! This is my first post and I hope i'm in the right section. I've gone nuts while researching about HDR and 4K gaming monitor / TV and I'd really appreciate your suggestions. My budget currently sits at about $900 CAD at max and I'm either looking for 32 inch gaming monitor which is 4K and HDR or a TV about 40 or 43 inch as I need to use it for PC as well. Room is small so I usually connect my gaming PC and PS4 Pro both to the same monitor. I have PC with 1080 TI NVIDEA. The main reason is the new upcoming RDR2 game which according to reviews they said it's excellent with HDR. So please let me know what I can get under 900 CAD. I'd prefer TV because of the size and I heard HDR is better in TVs but I also know that the refresh rate and other stuff gets compromised. I'm not into first person shooters and I'm more into RPGs and Witcher type of games. Please help! Back to you guys

Hi all, I have been facing some serious stutter in Red dead redemption 2 in populated areas like towns and cities. I see stutter even when my FPS is above 60. As mentioned before, only in places like valentine and Saint Denis etc. My average FPS is always 65-75. In cities, it falls to 57-58 but the stutter makes it seem like 30. I tried changing the API from Vulkan to D3D12. It reduced my framerate by a lot but my stuttering was completely gone (The low FPS then started to act as stuttering lol). I also enabled acompute in the settings.xml file. It helped a little but the effect is still very noticeable. My specs are listed below: i7-4790 (cooled by Cooler Master MA410p) 16 GB DDR3 1600mhz MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 8GB 240GB Gigabyte SSD (boot) 2TB WD HDD (Games)

My current build consists of an 8086k OC'd to 5GHZ and a 1080ti Asus Strix OC Edition running on a PG279q 1440p monitor. I'm a little late to the "game" and was wondering if the game is more GPU or CPU intensive because I am planning on getting a non-reference 3080ti (or whatever it will be called) when they release and am hoping that will increase my performance. I'm hoping to run on ultra settings but am not sure if that's achievable (as I have not been paying attention to RDR2 until now and am not sure whether it's one of those games where hardly anyone will be able to run it at ultra or not). To get to Ultra (if possible), would the new GPU do it? Or would I have to upgrade my CPU again to achieve what I want? Also, is 144fps+ possible or is that too greedy for a game like this?

Have the issues with RDR2 on PC been fixed?
