Hey guys, Quick question - I want to buy a sub for my setup, specifically PreSonus Eris Sub 8, but I want to connect it to my PC via a motherboard center/subwoofer channel - is it possible? What sort of cable do I need for that with that specific subwoofer? I currently have PreSonus Eris 3.5 monitors connected to my MOBO and a Sonos Ray with a S/PDIF. MOBO is an Asus Crosshair X670E Hero.

Ive had a couple bad experiences trying to find the above mentioned converter. I want to play things that use rca composite cables on my hdmi tv without breaking the bank. I tried buying from amazon and my local game shop and i learned that some companies make product that just looks like it converts when really it doesnt do anything. I dont remember the name of the company; this was before covid. If anyone knows a base i can start with or of a reliable converter id appreciate it. Thanks!

passive speakers Trying to make Passive speakers work in my set up
Brien Gaffney posted a topic in Audio
Okay so I don’t plan on spending big bucks on speakers, my dad uses a jvc hi fi system for the living room tv but it’s running through aux and the bookshelf speakers are not needed , I’ve recently built a pc and want some speakers for general use. The speakers have a power capacity of 40w and an impedence of 16ohms the ends off each speaker cable have what I presume are rca jacks , so I can’t seem to find any small amps with rca outputs , I’ve noticed the cables running from each speaker are made up of two wires , are they plus and minus? If so can I just use a standard amp from Amazon ? Any help appreciated -
hey guys, im back at it again with my old RCA Viking 10 Pro. Android has been fun but with the ageing OS, issues with speed and the overall clunky nature has me looking for options to "upgrade" my tablet. it physically works but too slow to use with its capped version of android. im hoping to find something better. the only problem is that its micro-usb port is dead. it does have a full sized type A so hopefully i can find a solution. if anybody has a tips, tricks or ideas, plz share. thanks!

Hi all, So I have a slight issue and I don't know how to go about fixing it or I do but just seems to simple... So I recently got a new tv with E-arc with the HDMI plug but the stereo for the surround Speakers are all RCA, DO i just need a normal HDMI to RCA cable to get the sound into my stereo over the E-Arc. Very new to how E-Arc even works. Any help appreciated.

Hello, Thank you in advance. I'm looking to buy a pair of RS 185's but sadly my motherboard (B450 Tomahawk Max) doesn't come with an optical port to support the 185's receiver. Because of this I've been looking into USB DAC's but was wondering if I need to find one with an optical out or if when using one I can just use RCA without a drop in performance. Setup would be: Headphone Receiver -> DAC -> PC Headphone to DAC would be either by Optical or RCA, and DAC to PC would be USB Thanks again - Gilbertomus

I have this adapter that goes to dvi, https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41Ye0ZLVetL._SX355_.jpg I was just wondering the corresponding red-yellow-white cables that go into this adapter.

I have connected my Pioneer PL-990 turntable (here) directly to my Krk Rockit 5s (here) through rca connectors as the turntable is preamped and the speakers are active. The problem is even with the volume on the speakers turned down as low as they will go (-30dB) the volume is still loud enough that it can't be played without annoying the neighbours. Is there any problem with adjusting the volume after it has come out of the preamp and before it goes into the amped speakers (I think this is called line level but im not an audio buff so idk) and if possible can you suggest any equipment that would allow me to do so? Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm just getting into Audio, and I wanted to know the answer to an important question. If I have a speaker of 60w power (70w peak), can I use an amp that has a wattage of 2x80w or 2x160w? Will the amplifier correct itself, so that it wont give too much juice to the speakers? Here is a link to a few amps that I have in mind: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sabaj-A3-Bluetooth-Digital-Amplifier/dp/B01N10PF4B/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1496413975&sr=8-1&keywords=sabaj+a3 https://www.amazon.co.uk/SA-98E-TDA7498E-Stereo-Digital-Amplifier/dp/B015J0P7VM/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1496414025&sr=8-3-fkmr0&keywords=drok+2x160w https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M662N3N?psc=1 THANKS! I actually really do appreciate the help.

So I have a pair of Bose Companion 2 desktop speakers with two stereo RCA inputs (red and white), I have my computer, and chromecast connected, but also wanted to connect my amazon echo dot. I tried purchasing a dual male 3.5mm to single female 3.5mm adapter (I currently have two rca to 3.5mm male plugged into my 2 inputs on my speaker), but it turned out to be a mic + headphone to 4 pole jack adapter. Does anyone have any suggestions and preferably amazon linking with any solution? I tried finding stereo rca to dual 3.5mm male, but I could not find any. I'm not planning on playing them at the same time, so a passive adapter would be fine. Thanks (EDIT: Here is the link to my speakers for reference https://www.amazon.com/Bose-Companion-Multimedia-Speaker-System/dp/B000HZDF8W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480309740&sr=8-2&keywords=bose+companion+2)

Hello everybody! I need a new 3.5mm Jack to Stereo (white and red) RCA, but I'm split between two options. 1. I get a super cheap feeling 1$ cable 2. Go all out and get a nice 20$ one. My question is, will this make a difference is sound quality? Thanks, Peter.

So I have these built in amp tower speaker from years and years back, a strange issue I have with it is that, when I insert the RCA to an alternative female jack (One of the other source input at the back, this one is labeled CD while previous one being used was TV/Receiver) it got way louder now or more like working again (I have 2 speakers connect via a splitter so I haven't noticed during this past year or so) Things is, I was aware of this from years back but I happen to forget about it. I was wondering out of curiousity what could be the reason here? (Don't know much about dying amps or circuitry)

Using a 2-Male RCA adaptor cable I connected my stereo speakers to my monitor. That worked great. I later decided to try to connect my speakers to my motherboard. As I unplugged the speakers, I forgot to turn them off. Now, my left speaker no longer seems to work (no audio) with the motherboard nor the monitor. I have ordered a new adaptor cable, as I suspect that it's damaged. But I'm concerned if it's something more serious. Perhaps the speakers themselves sustained damage? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Hello everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me with my mixer and audio setup. I'm kind of new to this, hence why I'm asking the community for help and trust me, I tried looking it up on youtube but to no avail have I found an easy video that fully explained it to me. I recently bought a Mixer (YAMAHA MG10XU) to go along with my Audio Technica AT2035. Now, this mixer can be directly connected to my computer through its USB cable and my mic works totally fine by communicating with the computer and going from XLR cable-Mic > Mixer > Computer. Sounds checks alright and it works like a charm. My problem is, I want to invest in an electric guitar so I'd imagine I put my XLR cable into my mixer like this: XLR cable-Guitar > Mixer > Computer. However, I want to hear what I'm playing. So don't I need some cables for Stereo Out since my speakers aren't connected to the mixer. I don't know how to communicate from input to mixer out from speaker. I'd also like to keep my headphones connected to my PC and be able to hear my guitar sound since I'll be substituting my mixer as an amp (God knows how, but it should be possible). According to my manual, there is nothing that says anything about normal, traditional 3.5 mm stereo speakers (Logitech speakers). I simply want to make the setup go from Guitar > Mixer > Speaker (Sound out). I'll attach some pictures of the inputs available on my motherboard along with the manual and my mixer inputs. Please be patient with me... I just can't wrap my head around this.

Hi, well I obviously had a rough discussion with my dad over the topic using a VGA CRT monitor in place of our currently working CRT TV. Now I said that all we need is RCA to VGA convertor and a pair speakers which we already have. Now dad got on me saying why the hell do you think there is all the circuitry in the TV then. You think signals are converted on their own? Why do you think TVs are more expensive than monitors. To that I said, 1. Major part of the motherboard of TV has circuitry for converting satellite signal from coaxial cable to usable form. 2. The set top box (the box which converts the satellite signal to AV signal, basically a TV tuner) and the TV just has to interpret AV signal. To that my dad said to me I'll give you the money to make this "convertor" and if you can't I'll hang you upside down. I have just finished highschool, haven't done anything in engineering. https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07HQBPWF8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_IrDVCbF9GH88T Now isn't this ^^^^ enough. Help me out guys. Thanks

Hi guys, my old radio broke in a storm probably from the power coming and going. The radio has two big speakers which are still working (tested them holding the cables on a normal jack). Those speakers have only two wires coming out from each, a black and white one. Looking for a cheap amplifier on amazon I saw: https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Amplifier-Wireless-Receiver-Adapter/dp/B072Q157FY/ref=sr_1_26?keywords=audio+amp&qid=1574674311&sr=8-26 It has the right wattage and resistance for the speakers, but it has what looks like female rca on it, how do I connect it? I can buy cheap rca male plugs but then how do I solder? in the schematics I found rca has 2 cables per plug while I only have one per plug... Hope I was clear and thank u in advance for the help guys Edit: the photo is of the back of my old Radio

so I literally picked up a tv today and got home to plug it in and made sure it worked and it did, but as soon as I plugged in an HDMI cable from my laptop the screen would not power on.so I unplugged the HDMI and tried to turn the tv on again but no luck, then unplugged the tv and back in and also no luck, then I plugged the HDMI in and plugged in the tv and went into my display setting on my laptop and the tv showed up, but it wasn't on and if I unplugged the tv it dropped from the laptop. and now I'm here cause I can't figure it out. the tv in question is an RCA 55" Model No.: LED55R120Q Serial No.:3527-LE55C55-N104234.

I have a pair of RCA speakers for my pc, and have a receiver that require speakers with speaker wire. Can I hook them up somehow without striping the ends off the speakers? Thanks.

I want to use a mixer, which will have my consoles, my pc, and my mic plugged into it because I want everything in it to use for streaming. I also want to buy the razer tiamat 7.1v2 for the true 7.1 surround sound to use for competitive games. So if I just use some splitters (one way going to the mixer and the others that the tiamat would use going to the tiamat at the actual sound connectors from the motherboard) will it still give me all the sound in all of the drivers for the tiamat and will it sound as good as if it wasn't going two ways because of the splitters?

Hello, I have a dell Inspiron 7000 gaming and I would like to connect it to an extrememly old lg crt tv, it only has composite output, not even component. My plan is to get an hdmi to vga converter, and than get a vga to composite converter. On ebay there are many products that have hdmi on one end of a cable and vga on the other. I am skeptical of if these work, vga being analogue and hdmi digital, do these work? Or would I have to get one with a box converter? Also if I get an hdmi to dvi adapter, would the dvi end be able to be converted to vga or would it just work with digital outputs? Thank You,
