Hi all, I recently got a Razer Blade 14 as an RMA replacement for my Razer Book since they don't make that model anymore (broken display cable on the Razer Book). The battery on this new Razer Blade laptop dies extremely quickly. Approximately 1% per minute while doing basic web browsing or just idling. Why is the battery draining so fast? What can I do to fix it? I have a 3 hour lecture and the laptop can't even make it through one class. Also I am running the latest Firmware that was released which was supposed to help with battery life -- it didn't. Any help is greatly appreciated

So, I recently purchased a used 2020 Razer Blade 15 RTX 2070. The person I had purchased the device from had it for less than a year and wanted to sell it to build a gaming rig. Though the laptop is still relatively new it is having some performance issues when playing games. When I should be getting frame rates in the 70-100s I am getting frame rate in the 30-60s. This coupled with thermals in the 90c range. I've tried everything I can think of to increase the performance, i.e., setting my computer to high performance, updating all of my drivers, closing all background applications, undervolting the CPU to prevent thermal throttling, and more. I'm starting to think that the issue is a hardware one such as thermal paste no being properly applied, dirty fans (Although I have used an air can on the fans), and or something else. Besides the issue with performance and thermals the battery life is not lasting as long as the advertised 5 hours. If I had to guess it is probably due to the temp issues damaging the battery. If anyone had any other idea about what could be going wrong with my laptop please let me know. ╰(*°▽°*)╯

I want to purchase a dock for the Razer Blade 15 (Early 2020 Advanced Model). I have tried the DELL WD19TB, only to find that the USB and ethernet wouldn't work. I tried all the drivers, even a firmware update but the PC wouldn't detect the dock to start the firmware update - even on an XPS. Having spoken to a DELL engineer whilst at work, it seems like DELL Docks (especially thunderbolt) are definitely not high up on the reliability scale - this does make sense given the amount of DELL dock issues we have had to deal with at work. I'm returning the Dell WD19TB today, and am thinking about the Lenovo 40AN0135EU - THINKPAD THUNDERBOLT 3 DOCK GEN 2 as a next attempt - we have used lenovo docks at work before and I can't think of anyone having issues with them before (granted we have never used the dock with a Razer Blade). Can someone let me know if they have tried/used this with the Razer before, and what levels of success you got with it? Before anyone asks, yes I have done the classic amazon search for "thunderbolt dock", but it seems that all the generic docks (from Elgato, Belkin, Startech, CalDigit, etc.) all either do not have sufficient display ports (I need at least 2 full size displayport ports) or do not supply sufficient power, I'm looking for at least 130W (I know that's not the full 230W that can be used to charge the Razer, but should be enough to stop it discharging when the laptop is in normal use) - trickle-charging is not a problem for me, as I will be having the laptop "docked" for 8+ hours at a time. The Razer Blade 15 Early 2020 Advanced laptop does support USB-C charging - it worked with the DELL WD19TB, and it works with my ~85W Macbook Pro charger, so that's not a worry for me. I wish that Razer would just make a TB3 dock, they're really good with build quality and I have no doubt that it would be a high class "top notch" dock. It would probably get them a lot of money too, manufacturing a device to turn a gaming laptop into a fully-fledged gaming desktop setup with a single cable. First time using this forum, make me proud fellow IT-ers!

Hi all- I am looking to get a new laptop for college and my budget is anything around $1000. I was looking for a windows machine as that is what my school mostly uses. I do not really need it for any type of gaming since I have a desktop but if it can that would be a plus. I was thinking something like the Razer Book or Blade since I like the big trackpad like the Apple MacBooks but if theres anything similar I would also consider it. I was also thinking the Framework Laptop Kit could be a possibility. What do you guys think? I am open to used laptops - the Razer Blade would most likely need to be used. Also for some reason I can't find the Razer Book at MSRP it seems like people are scalping the price on them for some reason. Input is greatly appreciated

Hello! So I have the Razer Blade 2017 with the i7-7700HQ and GTX 1060. Within the last year I've noticed that in certain games my laptop will practically stop charging even though it's plugged in while playing games. This will cause a massive FPS drop to 30 FPS and happens without warning. From what I've gathered, I've only seen it drop while playing CS:GO and Dota 2. While playing games like League and Warzone there are no problems at all. This problem occurs in stutters and I can't seem to figure out what it is. I've tried throttling the CPU and updating the drivers. It didn't used to happen but as of late 2019 it happens every time I play CS. I have a video of it here https://streamable.com/6gz04 You can see 3 separate times at the beginning walking through doors, the middle, and the end walking through doors. FPS is in the top right corner to show the loss because the video doesn't show it too well (I think it got cut down to 30FPS after I edited it). Also the Windows noise was just because I hit something wrong sorry in advance. Thanks for your help!

i bought this Razer Blade off of Ebay for $779USD, since this was a massive save and was obviously well used so i cannot say much about the brand new appearance, but even after the some what harsh use that the sell had put it trough it has stood up very well. the keys are a bit warn but that doesn't really change the typing experience, i would go as far as comparing the typing experience to a Macbook pro keyboard (only a slightly bit more mushy), they glass track pad is just perfect, its very good at palm rejection and is SUPER smooth. The screen is amazing, the 3100x1800 res is the highest res screen i've ever owned in my entire life, i've seen Apples 5k IMac and its hard to see the difference once you get past a certain res, this res paired with the touchscreen is just amazing, at first i though i would never use the touch screen and i was wrong, the touch screen is just a touch screen, since i haven't had any laptops/computer with a touch screen i have nothing to compare it to, but i would say it is good. the physical design of the Blade is outstanding, the blade is very thin and is a power house, but this leads to the one thing i HATE about the blade, since its thin and powerful it has to do something with heat, the blade has two fans on the bottom and a vent near the hinge, the blade gets super loud and very hot super quick, but with that said it is not a big surprise since it has a 970m, I7 4720HQ, 256gb M.2 SSD, and, 16GB of ram. my main goal of this laptop was to have something that could last me a few years (maybe late into college). The gaming performance is what i would say really good, plays most games on high at 60+ fps.. PROS: Looks like a bad ass Macbook pro for MEN amazing performance cheapish if you buy used amazing screen M.2 SSD can do everything you throw at it CONS; GETS LOUD AND HOT A SHIT(i could probably poach eggs on the bottom of the laptop while playing arma 3 ) "cant thing of anything else"

Hi! I need to buy a new laptop and have been looking at the FHD model of the new Dell XPS 15 and the Razer blade because they meet my requirements of being portable, good battery, enough performance and professional looking (for business meetings). I will mostly use the laptop for regular use (browsing, watching movies, etc.) and sometime game for 2-3h (Cs go, Dota 2, H1Z1) both on the move and at home. I will also use the laptop for work with clients so it needs to look professional. I will not do any coding, music or video production. I won't have a desktop computer (need to sell it because I have no space for it, blame my girlfriend.. ) Between these 2 I know that they both have thermal problems and that there are better options if you consider performance or bang for buck. It's a trade of for being very portable which for me is worth it. I think I might go for the Dell XPS 15. Here is my reasoning. + Dell has a bigger screen with the same form factor as the razer blade (almost) + Dell has better battery + Dell has better support and the availability of the xps 15 in europe is much better. + Dell has upgradable ram, Razer don't. However it doesn't really matter because 16 GB is more than enough for me. - The Blade will be more powerfull with the 1060 instead of Dells 1050. I think the 1050 will be powerfull enough for the games I play (CS GO, Dota 2, H1Z1) ? - The Blade have thunderbolt with PCIe x4 instead of the x2 in the Dell. It will only matter if I use a eGPU and the internal display? If I use a eGPU in the future it will be with a external monitor anyways. - Slow responstime (ghosting) on the Dell. Hope that is better than the old model. Am I wrong? Should I pick the razer blade instead? Are there any upcoming laptop that I should look at instead? Any blade owners who want to change my mind?

Hello everyone, I am new here, and decided to join because I've been watching Linus' videos for the last two years. Quite a surprise I didn't join sooner, but here I am. One interesting thing about me is I win a noteworthy free item once a year. (For the last three years). I hope I can make a meaningful contribution to the community.

Hello Everybody.. I know Linus and his crew are using the same New Razer Blade 2016 (GTX 1060) as daily driver.. So I'm wondering if anybody is having or have noticed frequent micro-stutters when doing basic tasking in windows 10.. for example opening any maximized window or when opening display settings window or by switching a background.image. i've noticed this issue a few days ago. I'm still not sure if was happening since day one..i s very minor but extremely annoying specially since this Laptop cost me almost $2000. One thing i'm almost certain is that its related with the Nvidia Software.. maybe Nvidia Optimus. I managed to fix (temporally) by doing a complete uninstall of the Nvidia Drivers. After a windows reboot and re-installation of the Nvidia Graphics Adapter the problem comes back.. I also tried different drivers versions.. including the one provided by Razer Support Website with no luck.. it seems to fix but again after doing a restart the problem comes back. if anybody can help me with troubleshooting this would be great.. please if you can try by doing the examples I mentioned you can replicate on your Razer Blade the micro-freezes i'm getting (basically the mouse cursor stops responding for like half a second) send me a reply.. ps. i have until Jan 15th to return this Laptop for a full refund from BestBuy. Thx!

Hoping someone can help me with this as I am so confused. Quite a few times my laptop will freeze up, nothing responds, i have to turn it off by holding the power button. I had linked this back due to it thermal throttling as in event viewer this is shown 4 times, 1 for each thread (The speed of processor 3 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report.) So I went into the bios and disabled the turbo to help control the temperature, it worked for a little bit but it has happened again. This is the confusing part, Ive seen my temps hit 75 degrees (Celsius) and it wont crash, it just crashes when the temps are in the 50 degree to 60 degrees. Which is confusing because a system will shut down when it reaches the max TDP to prevent damage. Why is this happening and how can I stop it, the scenarios its happened in so far are Hangouts video call, Netflix streaming and just browsing. I make sure it can breathe everytime. And yes ive contacted support, I just want a second opinion

I have been building up my new "gaming" computer in partpicker uk and I don't really know what I'm doing. I have a basic knowledge of what I should do but I don't want to screw anything up. Can some one just go through what I picked out to see if the POWER IS OVER 9000. I'm also considering buying a razer blade instead just for the portability? can it run any game over 50-60fps on ultra. Parts list ------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------

Hi LTT forum, I'm a long time quiet member who enjoys Linus' videos. I've never asked anything of you guys, never thought I would have to. I'm posting this in the hopes that people are informed on the state of Razers' customer support, and hopefully get someone that works at Razer to speed up my situation since it's been almost 2 months already, with an expected extra 2-3 weeks longer. TLDR: I have a Razer Blade 14 (2015) laptop that has been at one of there support centers for almost 2 months, to fix a cracked screen (and other smaller issues). Despite constant communication, they constantly inform me that x y and z things go wrong (the latest, a faulty screen replacement) and that they need to order new parts from Singapore which takes 2-3 weeks. So I bought my Razer Blade 14 (2015) in June of 2015 and it has served me great for the last 2 years. Unfortunately I cracked my screen, but I managed without the touchscreen for a year now and I got used to the cracked screen. The reason I decided to send it in was because they opened a European repair shop and that reduced the amount of time I would need to go without my laptop, which is near impossible as a student and going even a week without a laptop makes everything a lot harder. So I communicated with them and they told me that it usually takes 3-5 days. With this information, I waited until spring break and sent them my laptop with the hope that it would be returned before the end of the holidays. I was wrong, after sending them my laptop I was informed that the parts weren't available and they would order them from Singapore. Now, with that being said, it was my understanding that it wouldn't take too long. In the email it says that if the part isn't available, it takes "slightly longer". Slightly longer than 3-5 days doesn't mean 1 month. To them it apparently does. Fine, a month goes by and they inform me that the parts have arrived and the repair should be almost done at this point (9th of May) and according to them, 3-5 days after the 9th is maximum the 14th. On the 24th still no update, at this point I'm getting extremely impatient and I start calling them (the support line is only open from 1-3 pm (German time) every day so I plan accordingly and call them several times. The first response when I inform the guy on the support line of my situation was disbelief. He quickly assures me that its fine and it should be finished within the week. That was on the 24th. Today I called back, and the guy on the support line told me that the screen they received was faulty and they need to order a new one from Singapore and the shipping takes 2-3 weeks. At which point I'm completely outraged. From past experience and waiting time, it will take another month and a bit for the piece to arrive. Not to mention that I asked about the other repairs and some have not been done yet (even though they have had 2 months). It's been almost 2 months. And I expect it to take another month or so. Everything has been paid for already so money isn't the issue they are having. I'm at the end of the semester with finals quickly approaching, a lot of my studying and study material (lecture notes) are on that laptop. I have been a huge fan of razer for years now, among myself and brothers we have each owned more than one razer peripheral at any given time. At this point you have basically lost 3 loyal costumers (even though thats a drop in a bucket for you). My only wish is for the situation to be rectified. Thank you for taking the time to read this, please help me share this so that my issue doesn't fall on deaf ears.

Hi all. I will leaving for college soon and think I won't be taking my PC with me. So I decided on a gaming laptop (bummer I know) for all my computing needs for the next 5 years. Here are the two options. Both come with a 7700HQ and 16GB of DDR4 memory. XPS 15 with a 1050 4GB, 4K touch screen with 1TB PCIE = $2250 VS New Blade with a 1060 6GB , 4K screen with 512GB PCIE = $2400 I think it boils down to the difference between the 1060 and 1050. I only play a few games such as Overwatch, Battlefield 1, Witcher 3, Doom, GTA V, MINECRAFT, Uncharted 4 and Gears of War 4. With the XPS, I do get the 512Gb extra with the touch screen while keeping $150 as change. The Blade would get me the 1060, but less storage and big bezels + no touch screen. The touch screen isn't really a must. What would you do? Is the difference between the 1060 and 1050 so severe to sacrifice the 512Gb, $150 and touch screen? Thanks in advance.

Hey Guys, I hope one of you can help me out here. I know my way around computers and Windows, and yes i googled these issues before. I switched from a desktop PC to a laptop for my videography work - so I need storage, some fast and some with high capacity. All the HDD's from my PC had to go into external usb 3.0 cases so that i could connect them to the Blade. Whats now happening is really wierd, and there are essentially two seperate Issues: 1. Disk 1 (In the disk manager) always gets marked as "read only" no matter what drive on what usb port in which ever case. If i unplug Disk1 and plug in a different SSD it shows up as read only. All of the enclosures work and so do the USB-Ports, it seems like Disk 1 always gets marked as read only. 2. I had two bigger HDD's in my system before. If i plug them in they show up in the Disk Managment Tool but one (the 4tb) needs formatting to be used. The other one just says "No Media" but doesnt offer to assign a drive letter or make it active in any way. They obviously contained Data and i dont want to format them. They worked in my PC fine, but i cant check it now as my GPU failed - thats why i got the Blade now. Hopefully someone can help me out here. Thanks!

Some of the screws are coming loose on my Razer Blade (Late 2015) and I was wondering what tool I need to alleviate the problem. I assume that I need a hex wrench, but does anyone know the size of the wrench that I will need? Thanks for any help.

Hey y'all! So.... I tried to use a DECKED OUT razer blade and core as a desktop replacement. I built my desktop anyway thought and as a desktop replacement It works! It really does, buttttt it's just not enough power for me and I can't bring the core with me REALLY! (Could just build a mini atx tower and boom....) and it just dawned on me.. I could trade this setup for a laptop I'm more interested in! (I've got the late 2016 QHD 512gb SSD BLADE 14" i7-6700hq, etc) anything with a 1080, and a mechanical keyboard. 15-17" screen at 4k resolution. Boom. Do you think that's possible? I'm gonna check the classifieds, but I've got a blade pro sitting here I "borrowed to try" from an online company that delivers packages suPRIMEly fast if U catch my drift i cant sell it on classifieds here as I don't have enojgbt posts and in 3 days I have to return it. There may be some NON razer laptops to check out (I love ASUS and MSI)

Hi, this is about a Razer Blade 14" FHD from 2015. By now, that device would be almost 1.5 yrs old (bought in Singapore). Early September, the backlight and entire keyboard and touchpad stopped working (apart from the power button). After a lot of back and forth, Razer Europe, offered to have me send it in. Initially, Razer (by mistake) wrote me that the display and keyboard was broken. They also quoted me for a new keyboard and new motherboard, ~$1600. After I asked for the reason (they just quoted $1600), they actually requoted after several weeks, saying they would 'only' have to replace the motherboard, ~$1400. Now, I had had a working laptop (apart from the keyboard), basically a fully functional laptop - working just fine and stable gaming system with external keyboard and mouse. And Razer is asking me to pay for their design flaws, a broken keyboard controller ?! This should never have happened, especially not after effectively 1.25 yrs of age. And they cannot repair their own motherboards but have to have a completely new one every single time? WTF After nearly two month without laptop, being asked to pay as much as for a used Razer Blade 14, I am speechless. This is completely unacceptable. # RZC-0148181-00912120 Anyone feel that pain? k

Hello everyone I've been thinking of upgrading my laptop. Currently I own a MSI GS70 Stealth pro 6QE (6700HQ, 8GB DDR4 @ 2133mhz, 120GB NVMe SSD, 1tb hdd, 17.3" matte display). Mainly want to upgrade because it is a little bit on the large and heavy side and the battery doesnt exactly last long. Also wanting something with more ram due to my uni degree. I've got an interested buyer at AUD$2300/USD$1820. Would you say thats a good price to sell it at? As for a replacement laptop, Im currently looking at 2 options both being the 14" razerblade. One is the 6700HQ 1TB SSD option, the other is the 7700HQ 512GB SSD. Would you rather have the 1tb option with the skylake or the newer kabylake but at half the ssd size? I am currently studying CGI/VFX so the softwares I use such as Nuke and Houdini FX chews through RAM. Thanks
