  1. Hello there! I have the BlackWidow V3 keyboard, for around a year. few months ago it started to have this weird problem of which i didnt find a solution online. Some keys sometimes double print, sometime not reacting but the WEIRD thing is that its changing between the keys! randomly! it could be one key then 10 seconds later be another one Now, I cleaned the keyboard (removed the caps and removed dust and whatever) but the problem is the same. anyone has any idea how to solve this? thanks, me
  2. so quick question... i got curious as any newbie programmer would. So im here, making a "simple" program for generating attendance sheet from the records off of an attendance machine (its just my own dummy data). So here i am just programming away then i got to thinking, I see an RJ45 port on this attendance machine... and i see a network/server options in the menu... how could one get raw data from this machine. im just curious what kind of protocol or something to emulate a request for this machine to spew out the records... i tried searching about this machine and similar types but google is being a little B-word... anyone know a thing or two about how these kinds of machine work?
  3. Hi All, I have this weird problem that I think need a little bit more technical knowledge of hardware than what I possess. I was hoping to find some ideas to troubleshoot this, and reddit ain't useful these days, particularly with identifiable information. Anyway, here are the details that I have so far. System Info: Attached below. Asus laptop with all AMD. All updates for drivers and windows installed. Symptom: Laptop shuts down like power was disconnected. No blue screen, no errors, just straight shut down like it was initiated by BIOS or power is lost. Video: Occurrence: Happens frequently when playing games, but only in some games. E.g. F1 2022, it happens during loading screen after benchmark or race. In FM, it happens after match end. In Resident Evil 4 remake, it happens when player dies. In other games, there is no issue. E.g. Rocket league, overcooked 2, cities skylines had zero crashes. This happens on both battery and plugged in mode. This started few months ago, but I can't seem to find a solution thus far. Event Log: Seems to only log one error when I turn it back on saying "last shutdown was unexpected". No warning before the shutdown that stood out. Attaching the event log in case I missed something. Troubleshooting steps taken: 1) Verified all updates, all drivers etc. 2) Verified all OS files 3) Ran benchmarks for 2 hours (100% cpu and gpu utilization) 4) Ran overheating and PSU tests for 1 hour each Current Situation: I can run some games just fine, so I am sticking to them. For the games that are crashing, I changed settings and tried that, but no luck. Currently, I am in a position where I can recreate the crash in F1 and FM again and again. It happens exactly when game switches from actual gameplay to menus. If I keep running the same benchmark for 10 laps, no crash, but if I quit after 1 lap or even half a lap, guaranteed crash. So, I can rule out overheating as a potential cause. I am leaning towards some sort of hardware malfunction or some software issue. Problem is that there is no blue screen, so I can't even figure out what is causing this crash. Anyway, I just need ideas on how I can troubleshoot this. If I can even find out what is causing the problem, I can at least find a workaround. I can open the backpanel of the laptop but I don't want to risk going further than that in case I yank a random cable or something. But software wise, I can happily tweak around whatever is suggested as that is something I am super comfortable with. P.S. I created this new account, because youtube uses my real name. So, I want to keep it away from my anonymous accounts. app log.evtx Sys Info.nfo Sys Info.txt system log.evtx app log_2057.MTA system log_2057.MTA
  4. Recently upgraded my pc and gave the old parts to my little brother. We then built a PC using said parts and a couple of new ones as well. These random black screens were a problem for me before as well, however with this new build, the problem seems to have become a lot more frequent. You can hear the click of the PSU powering off and back on whenever this happens. You can also force the issue by banging on the desk with relatively minor force. The old parts that were carried over were: Mobo: ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-H CPU: i5-9600k CPU Cooler: Cryorig R1 Ultimate WiFi Card: Intel AX200 That's it. New parts include: PSU: Fractal Ion Gold 750w GPU: ASUS TUF 4060Ti 8GB RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x16GB 3600MHz (One of my old RAM sticks died) Running Windows 10 Pro The issue occurs at stock clocks and without XMP enabled. The PC can be under load or at idle. The system has used three different PSUs (Old 600W GTR from my first build, an EVGA G3 750W and now the Fractal), three different GPUs (2080, 3080, 4060ti), and is now using new RAM (Old was Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 3600MHz). Throughout all these changes the issue has always persisted. Multiple fresh windows installs. Drivers are up to date. I updated the BIOS to the latest version available from the ASUS website just last week. The CPU has been repasted and also reseated multiple times. There are no events in event viewer, except that the pc lost power unexpectedly. So at this point I'm at a bit of a loss. All I can think of is a hardware issue with either the CPU or Motherboard, but maybe someone else has some ideas.

  6. Hey everyone, I'm turning to this forum to see if someone can aid me in solving a mysterious problem I am encountering. A real who done it. I'll include as much information as I can, but anything I've missed, let me know. Part 1: The Mysterious Death (problem description) I've recently built a new system (with the obvious aid of LTT). This system consists of firsthand parts and works tremendously well in most cases. 'EXPO I' is enabled (via the BIOS), but no other settings have been adjusted or played with (default profiles across the board). In the last couple of months, I started to play some more beefy games, a particular favorite of mine is Hell Let Loose. This is where I stumbled across the problem initially (as far as I can recall). "Hell Let Loose" is far from optimized, but with a couple of additional Steam launch settings, the game smooths out around the edges. Upon first introducing these launch settings, I put all suggested components into place. One such setting was `-dx12`, which forces the game to use DirectX 12. Shortly after launching the game, my PC (without any warning signs) shuts off. There is no lag, stutter, or freeze that indicates an issue. It's almost as if someone has flicked off the wall outlet. After this point, the system cannot be turned back on with the PC power button. The wall switch (or PSU switch) must be turned off for ~10 seconds, and then the power button works again (and turns on as if nothing happened). Part 2: Following the breadcrumbs (troubleshooting steps taken) At first, I thought this might be a heat problem. ITX + high-end gear, seemed like a reasonable assumption. With the AMD 'Adrenalin' tool on my second monitor, I played again; Constantly keeping an eye on temperatures. Sure enough, I was hitting 85+ degrees (celsius) on my GPU junction. As such, I reduced my video settings and tried again. Unfortunately, I didn't see any temperature improvements with this change. With an FPS overlay, I saw I was getting 300+ frames per second. So, I turned on VSYNC in the game, and BINGO, temperatures dropped significantly (1440p 144hz). Unfortunately, this did not resolve the crashing issue. If not a temperature related issue (seeing as I was now sitting comfortably around 60 degrees on the CPU and 70 for GPU junction), then what? Perhaps it was one of the launch settings I enabled for this game. Removing all the launch settings, I was able to play for a longer period without a crash, but this unfortunately left the game in a less than desirable state. After trying multiple permutations of the launch options, I found that removing the '-dx12' setting removed my issues. Problem solved, life goes on... and then, it came back. After doing some research, I thought it might be my PSU. This was an initial concern for my setup, as I would normally like to shoot well above the recommended specs for my system. Unfortunately, such PSU specs were not available to me at the time. I thought that being 50W above the recommendation would be enough wiggle room. In order to test this theory, I ran my system through a series of stress tests. Using the following tools: - Ryzen Master: CPU stress test - AMD's Adrenalin: GPU test - OCCT: CPU, GPU, RAM and PSU stress tests Each of these tests were run for about 10 minutes each, and consecutively. My system didn't crash and continued to work normally after the hour of stress. Crashes were infrequent, and had no obvious link between what was happening in-game, and when they would occur. Part 3: The washed away footprint (more details that might help) - Whilst I play games, I also watch YouTube on a second monitor. Most instances of random shutdowns occur when multi-tasking in this manner, but I've also encountered some shutdowns without multi-tasking. - Crashes don't occur when programming or internet browsing. I can be running a local host server, with 20+ search tabs, on Discord whilst playing a YouTube video, for 12 hours without issue. - Gaming is the only common denominator. Hell Let Loose is the most common game that crashes my system, but Minecraft (with shaders) has also triggered this issue. - REPRODUCING: Without fail, playing Hell Let Loose, with '-dx12' enabled will cause this issue; Within 5 minutes of playing. - I'm using a multi-box for the two displays and the PC. The multi-box has surge protection, and is reasonably high end. - My PC sits on my desk, and the ambient room temperature (middle of winter) is fairly cool (don't have a thermometer on hand, but I'd estimate 16-20 degrees). - Time of day, and session duration don't seem to play a factor in when the issue occurs. Part 4: Tools of the trade (System Specs) - CPU: 7800X3D || Driver v??? (Windows says it's up to date via device manager) - CPU Fan: Noctua NH-D12L - GPU: Sapphire PULSE, RX 7900 XTX || Driver v23.7.1 - RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 32GB (2x16) - PSU: Lian Li SP850 - SSD (OS): 980 Pro 500GB - SSD (Games): 990 Pro 2000 - MOBO: ASUS X670E-I || BIOS v1616 (latest) - CASE: NR200P (non max) - OS: Windows 11 || Updated, and still having issues Part 5: Final notes I was cautiously aware that my PSU might be problematic. I wasn't sure if Lian Li made quality PSU's, nor was I confident that 850W was enough. It's 80+ gold rated, so I thought this would be enough. I am using an SP750 in a less powerful system (recommended 500W), which doesn't seem to have any troubles at all. Seeing as I'm not able to reproduce the issue with stress tests. I don't know enough about PSU's to be confident that it is the cause of this problem. The symptoms seem to line up, but I can't reproduce this error by putting my system under load. I'm also unable to get any logs of the event, as the system shuts down randomly (where the logging trace buffer is lost). I am very close to purchasing a new PSU, but I wondered if this community had any insight, or more tests to be confident that my PSU is the issue. One potential case (that I'm not sure how to test), is that some event during my gaming sessions, requires the 7900xtx to spike in its request for power. Normally, the 7900xtx (with Hell Let Loose) sits well under 50% of the available wattage availability. Could it be possible that some event requires my GPU to need such a significant power draw? Another potential is that I need to directly plug my PC into mains power. That somehow, my PC is requesting more from the multi-box than available. I'm not able to find any evidence that this is the case, but maybe someone else has more knowledge than me here? I've undervolted the GPU for the time being. I'll have to wait and see if this creates a more stable atmosphere. Any insights and comments are appreciated! I'm more than happy to attempt any solutions. Given I have a fairly reliable means of reproducing this issue, I'll be able to test suggestions relatively quickly. Cheers
  7. Hi!! Today, I was having some problems with software. I reinstalled windows, and now it’s all fixed! However, my PC loves to crash. Sometimes, it’ll crash immediately after hitting enter on the login screen. Other times, it won’t boot at all. Occasionally, when I get to Windows, it’ll crash when I open an app, start multiple downloads, or sometimes when I’m not doing anything. Very rarely, I can play CS:GO or GTA on high to max settings with no problem, and a random crash. I’ve checked all of my cables, reseated all hardware, and individually tested my RAM, GPU, CPU, and PSU. My cooling is essentially on overdrive right now, as I wanted to ensure that it wasn’t overheating. I have 6 case fans, the CPU cooler, and the GPU fans ramping up to 100% fan capacity at 45 degrees Celsius. Anyone have a clue? CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 4500 GPU: Radeon RX 6600 RAM: 2x8Gb 2666mhz PSU: Thermaltake 600W Storage: 256gb NVMe m.2 Storage: 1tb SanDisk SATA SSD A note: When my PC crashes power, other devices (lamps, Amazon echos, etc.) on the same electrical circuit do NOT lose power.
  8. Hey guys, I have had this issue of static randomly occuring for quite some time now and haven't yet found a solution. The static occurs randomly and can vary in how long it lasts. Sometimes it can be hours without the static or a couple of minutes. I do have to preface I only know about it because friends on discord would tell me, so me going hours without complaint may be due to me not speaking or them not telling me. I highly doubt this is a discord issue because this happens on local recordings. Attached are two audio clips where one showcases the microphone working perferctly as normal, and the other being a clip that shows the static I am talking about. I have tried replacing the XLR cable, reseating all the connections both on the interface and into my computer, have also tried changing the bit rate of the microphone and have also tested if the interface is providing 48V of power (provides 46.6V). Even so, nothing has fixed the issue. Any suggestions would be aprreciated because I don't know if this is a software issue or a hardware one and just cut my losses and get new stuff. 9. I'm trying to find out what is causing my PC to randomly shutdown without warning before it ends up damaging something, but I'm having trouble finding the cause. My build: Dell Optiplex 9020 MT i7-4790 16gb DDR3 EVGA 650w GQ 80+ Gold 500gb SSD 4tb WD Blue 5400 RPM I recently upgraded my GPU from an EVGA GTX 750 ti to a Zotac GTX 1070 Mini and since then my PC has randomly shutdown with no warning or BSOD/error codes. It did this three times before I sent the GPU (bought used on Ebay) back thinking it was a short in the GPU. I then bought a Zotac GTX 1070 ti Mini and the same thing just happened last night. Each time it's happened it's been after an entire day of usage. I work remotely so I'm on 8-10 hours working and then often 4-5 hours of gaming afterward. Out of the times it has happened, it's been after working all day and then at about the last (5th) hour of gaming. It seems to not matter how demanding the game is either. It has happened 3 times when playing Genshin Impact for roughly 30 minutes, after playing other games the rest of that time, but it also happened once playing Dead Rising 3 (a very low ask for this PSU, GPU and CPU.) This has also been with two different CPUs as I originally had the i5-4590 when this started happening, and it's still happening on the i7-4790. I've stress tested the GPU, CPU and PSU with MSI Kombuster, Superposition, GPUmem TEST, OCCT and nothing comes back in error and the temps an wattage stay within normal/safe levels. It's only when it's been a really long use day. I've ordered a PSU tester, but it seems like that's the likely cause. I just hope it hasn't damaged anything since it has OTP, OCP, OPP and OVP on it. The PSU is less than 3 years old so it's in warranty. My question is, does this sound like it's definitely the PSU, or is there something else I might be missing? Below is my case if it helps. I thought it might be my PSU overheating, but my case is pretty open and nothing else is overheating. I was also logging the system at the time of the last shutdown and noticed the GPUw had spiked right when the PC shutdown, but the wattage has been higher than this during normal gameplay with no issues. So maybe it is just a faulty PSU and the spikes trigger something in it?
  10. Hello! For the past month now, my computer has been experiencing some rather odd crashes, in ways I've never quite seen before. I've spent a considerable amount of time attempting to troubleshoot the issue, but alas, it persists, and I'm worried about potential hardware damage it could cause. Let me play out the events of the crash as they playout. This is just one example of the crashes happening from a few weeks ago, but the events as the crash occurs are always the same. Playing Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six | Siege with two friends in a Discord call. We've been playing for about five or six hours at this point. Suddenly, my controller stops registering inputs into the game, however, I can still see and hear the match playing on without me, I just can't interact with it. I ask my friends in the Discord if they're having issues as well, but I see on my other monitor that Discord is not registering any input from my microphone, though I can still hear the conversation they're having. My keyboard and mouse still work so I alt-tab out of the game, but while I'm doing that, I realize that the RGB lights in them that are usually cycling at a rather fast rate have stopped and look almost as if someone "paused" the cycle. I hit ctrl+alt+del to try and get to Task Manager, but nothing happens. I look over at my GPU and CPU monitoring software, both of which are running fine, neither of which topped more 67*C during the gaming session. After a few seconds of attempts, suddenly the game and Discord audio cutout, and I can no longer interact with any tab. Even the taskbar freezes in place. Then both my mouse and keyboard stop registering inputs as well. Nothing works any more and all tabs and monitors are frozen. I wait several minutes in vein hope that the issue will resolve itself, but nothing happens. Finally, I am forced to hit the power button on the PC itself to close it, but nothing happens. Push the button again several times, still nothing. Alas, in order to turn off the PC, I have to kill power to it and hold the button down until it forces it off. These series of events are repeated every time a crash occurs, the only difference is what I am doing at the time of the crash. For the longest time, the only correlation I could see between crashes was that Nvidia Shadowplay was running in the background, either actively or passively recording something. Having assumed the cause of the crashes was Shadowplay, I disabled all of it's functions and downloaded some different recording software to use in it's place. And that did seem to fix it, going a good several days without another instance of the crash occurring. Until today. Having been bored and not having much to do, I decided to watch some YouTube for a bit. Had only been watching videos for about 40 minutes and another crash occurred except this time there was no Shadowplay, no games, now downloads, not recordings, nothing, and hardly anything running in the background. The computer itself had only been running for probably an hour-and-a-half, and hadn't handled anything taxing like gaming yet. At this point I am genuinely stumped at what could be causing the issue, as I've never had this happened before, nor have I been able to find anything on the web about it. I've ensured I had all of my drivers up-to-date, updated Windows, and reinstalled Razer Synapse for my various input devices. I'm afraid my knowledge on these issues are lacking, and so I'm not even sure where else I should look, or start on trouble shooting, so I would greatly appreciate any assistance I could be given! 14. Problem description. PC crashes at random times, black screen while fans keep spinning, RGB strip also on, CPU LED lights up on the motherboard and no more audio coming through. To get my system running again, I have to press restart switch on my case. Before the crash, audio sounds distorted/loops/freezes for half second or so, if there is any audio playing while the crash happens. What I have tried to fix the problem: RMA'd CPU, Motherboard, RAM, PSU, and SSD as advised by Mindfactory (company i purchased parts from) they told me everything is fine and sent it back to me. Reinstalling windows (clean install), Reinstalling all drivers, Updating BIOS(3 different versions), reseating the CPU, reseating GPU, using a different GPU (r7 260x 1gb sapphire oc), reseating RAM, unplugging and plugging all cables, ran memtest86 (zero errors), I've ran benchtests like cinebench, heaven benchmark, prime95 and Intel burn test multiple times to try and recreate the crash but i had no luck. All temps look fine, crash also happened plenty of times while my PC was idle with temps 30c-35c. I've also had the crash happen on 3 different monitors with 3 different cables. Additional details. I used to have XMP enabled and ran my RAM on 2933mhz, then i turned the XMP off and ran my ram at 2133mhz to see if that was causing my problem. I thought the problem went away with XMP off but today my PC crashed again with everything set on stock, no OC anywhere at all and XMP turned off (even thought i think XMP should work with my configuration). Only thing i noticed is, when XMP is turned on the crashes are more frequent. For example, PC ran fine for 2 months with XMP off then all of the sudden it crashed, and with XMP on it crashed in 15 days. All in all, crashes are random, sometimes they happen 2 times in 20 mins and sometimes it takes 2 months. I've been dealing with this ever since I bought it(1 year ago) and cant seem to find what's causing the problem. Also can't figure out a way on how to recreate the crash, that would be really helpful. Any tips/info are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  15. Hello everyone, I would need your help to fix a problem on my PC. Before I begin to explain what is going on, I would like to say that I am not a native speaker so some sentences might not be clear. And I apologize in advance for this very long description. PART 1: A quick description of the computer - Running Windows 10 Home 64-bit - Gaming is its main purpose - MB: Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Elite, BIOS version F20b - PSU: Corsair RM850x - CPU: Intel Core i9-10850K (liquid cooling) - RAM: Crucial DDR4-2666, 32 GB (4x8GB) - GPU: MSI GeForce RTX-3080 VENTUS 3X 10G OC - Storage: OS and games on separate M.2 SSDs (WD_BLACK SN750) - Nothing is overclocked - Every part was purchased brand new - Built in late December 2020 PART 2: What is going on? The problem is, simply said, that my PC keeps freezing randomly. I cannot identify the source of it, hardware or software, and for the latter, Windows or any application. Everything suddenly stops and nothing responds anymore, mouse, keyboard or anything else. I have to shut the PC down the hard way by pressing and holding the power button. It appeared 10 days ago. Nothing new was installed or nothing changed before the problem began. Everything, before that, was perfectly working. I have never had such a problem. Maybe I am missing the obvious. PART 3: When does it happen? Anytime, randomly. For instance, maybe not exhaustively: - 1: At start of Windows after I typed my PIN or password. Immediately or not. - 2: A few moments after that, when the PC is idle. - 3: When I am exploring files in File explorer. - 4: When I am downloading updates, running virus scan, or any similar action. - 5: At the very moment I am typing my PIN to unlock my account. - 6: When I am browsing the Web. - 7: When I am watching a video, local file or streaming. - 8: Just after POST when the logo of my motherboard maker appears, showing the Windows loading dotted wheel that stops spinning, or not showing it at all. - 9: When I close a window, or click another tab in my web browser. - 10: When I am playing games (at the time I was still able to). - … There is no ranking in the frequency or chronology of occurrence for the examples above. I did notice, though, that it happened more and more often and finally every time I use the computer now. I have already prepared a further description in which I wrote a list of what I would also like to try, and another of what I already tried with no results, but it might be better to keep the post short for now. Thank you already for your time spent reading this post. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thomas
  16. So I've had this problem for a little while where seemingly at random my PC will disconnect all USB devices and not reconnect them. I found that the only way to fix it is just to reboot my computer, but it gets annoying after a couple times. The devices still get power, but all data transfer seems to be stopped. I can always hear the devices disconnect through my USB Bluetooth dongle which is weird, but maybe it just disconnects them one-by-one. Before you ask, yes I've tried unplugging and plugging the devices back in and yes, I've tried different USB ports, so I don't want to see any replies about that. Any help is appreciated.
  17. Hey guys! My PC started doing some weird stuff lately... I usually keep it always on because I use it with AnyDesk often throughout the day. And one evening going home I found it turned off. I don't have a UPS so I figured that something happened with the electricity in the building. Tried to turn it on and nothing. Opened the case and looked at the MoBo I saw that the debug screen flashed something for a fraction of the second and turned off with the whole system. A few tries later I got it to stay on with only the fans spinning and nothing else - no post, no debug info on the little screen... Cleared the CMOS and It started fine just to randomly shut off a few minutes later. No blue screen no warning no nothing... Just runing, running, running POOF - off... With a lot of trouble I tested the RAM - it's fine. Powered the machine with another working PSU - same problem. Changed the CMOS battery just for good measure and again no good. Took the whole PC apart, cleaned everything and plugged everything again including the CPU - nothing. I use SpeedFan in a Rainmeter theme to check the temperature of the GPU and the CPU and I know that it is far from overheating even though I use the Intel's stock cooler. Also for good measure I reinstalled windows... The PC still shuts off randomly - sometimes works for 2 minutes sometimes for 20 seconds sometimes for 2 hours... My system is: - CPU - I7 4770K - running on stock speed since I built it. - RAM - 2x4GB Geil 1600MHz DDR3 and 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz DDR3 - running fine for more than five years on stock speeds and tested fine - GPU - Palit GTX 1060 8GB - tried the system with the on-board graphics and no better - PSU - 600W Fortron Rider - seems fine and as I said I tested the system with another PSU - still shuts off - MoBo - Gigabyte GA Z87X UD3H on my opinion it's a fine motherboard... As a storage I use one SSD Samsung Evo Pro 256GB and 1TB HDD Western Digital Black - both tested good on another machine. HELP! What should I do now... I am pretty sad... Should I buy a new motherboard...
  18. Hello, First of all, excuse the long post. I have a new build with the following specs: i9 11900K 64GB DDR-4 RTX 3090 1 TB SSD 2TB HDD PSU: 1050w, 850w, 1200w The issue I have with this machine is that it randomly reboots at any given time; gaming, mining, or simply browsing. However, most reboots happen within a few minutes (up to a few hours) when mining. Please note the following: Replaced the PSU with an Asus Rog 1000w Switched to an open air case (Coolermaster Master Frame) hoping temps would be the issue (temps dropped on average of 10c) No overclocking I tried mining with other software running, or no running at all (CPU mining was off) GPU-Z shows normal temps (62c at full GPU load, CPU around 50c) Today I'm replacing the PSU with an Asus ROG Thor 1200w PSU - I think all wattage readings from GPU-Z were totaling up to 950/1000w (I'm not sure if this is the right way of calculating it) GPU is connected via 2 PCIe cables CPU is liquid cooled (pump, radiator) I'm starting to think that the issue is from the power extension since I've got 3 extensions connected to each other with lots of device hooked up. And they're not the best brands of extensions. Any suggestions?
  19. So I have had this power for years now? If my computer shuts down on the next boot and a few boots after that it will randomly shut off after a few minutes. I have already replaced the power supply but that hasnt solved the issue. One thing that I have done that seems to fix it like temprarily is that once it boots I shut it down again and drain the power by turning off my power supply and then holding the power button. Now this is a temp fix and ones I have to do another shut down again the power issue happens again (I usually hibernate my PC). So if someone has a fix for this please lmk!

  21. Good day everyone, I have a particular situation where I recently added an AIO to my system and starting to have shutdowns. I have underclock my GPU a little bit and it seems to work fine; I am still puzzled on to where this extra power draw is coming from and causing my psu to trip. My system (before the upgrade): - Ryzen 5 3600 - not overclocked - Stock cooler - Wraith stealth - Crucial LPX 16 GB 3200Mhz - GTX 1080 - not overclocked - PSU: Thermaltake powerlite 550W - BX500 SSD - 256 GB - Seagate HDD 7200 rpm - 1TB - Segotep 120 mm fan - slim fan (generic) - 120 mm - came with the case - Arctic 80 mm F8 fan (non-PWM) - VR - Quest 2 through link cable. - Motherboard is Aorus pro wifi itx - PC case is sharkoon C10 (ITX) - from online calculators, the average power comes to around 340 watts I upgraded my stock cooler to the AIO arctic freezer II 120 - It has the pump, a small VRM fan and an Arctic P 12 fan and I removed the generic 120 mm fan. At times when I load shadow of the tomb raider or ms flight sim, the pc would shuts down. I checked the wiring and all seemed fine. It does not shut down during normal workloads (youtube, illustrator, etc) I have underclock the GPU to 950 mV and it seems to be stable - no more shutdowns. I have a few questions here: - The extra power loads (after the cooler change) is from the AIO - and it should be negligible. - Since the PSU is at 550W (no rating), is it not sufficient to cater for this load and occasional spikes. ? - Anyone has experience with thermaltake powerlite psu ? Am I at risk of losing my system in case the PSU blows off. Thanks
  22. My monitor randomly goes totally black for a few seconds, like it switched modes or changed resolution or something. Everything else keep running fine, nothing crashe, and all input seems to continue to work as well during the black screen. Everything continues fine when the display returns after a few seconds. This occours in game mostly but has happened on while watching Youtube. and while just on the desktop. I have done all the usual things. PC is up to date, run DDU and installed latest drivers, replaced the DisplayPort cable (This new one says it is VESA certified for DP 1.4). This is happening on my new monitor but was also happening on the old one as well. Google comes back with the usual vague answers but nothing has worked. It seems like it is a common problem so I'm hoping to find someone here that can help me. PC Spec: Windows 10 fully up to date CPU Ryzen 3700x RAM 16GB GPU ASUS ROG-STRIX-RTX2070-O8G-Gaming Mobo ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming New Monitor - ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQL1B (34inch - 165hz - Display Port 1.4) Old Monitor - Samsung LC27HG70QQUXEN (27inch - 144hz - Display Port 1.2) I am running Afterburner to apply a small OC on the GPU,but I've tried reverting OC to stock settings but the problem continues. Also tried turing on GPU scaling. My current working theory is there is some sort of issue with using FreeSync on nvidia cards. I've just now turned off FreeSync on my monitor so I'll report back on the result. If this does fix it I don't see a proper solution. - Update, it just happened again, watching a youtube video full screen, freesync was off.
  23. On December 10th I migrated my sytem to the LianLi-011 Dynamic Mini, along with that came a new SFX-L power supply by Fractal Design. The last few days my pc will randomly shut off, but not fully. My monitors will shut off along with my keyboard leds, but my mouse, case fans, and graphics card fans all remain lit/ spinning. The case power button quits working aswell, and I have to shut down the PC from the PSU switch. The PC reboots fine like everything is normal, but at a random point it will just shut off again. At first I thought it might be a motherboard issue since the case buttons quit working when the PC decides to shut off, but i did a bit of research and some other people had similar issues and some others suggested it might be a PSU issue. I submitted a service ticket to Fractal Design, but I can't figure out why it just started a few days ago and not when I initially upgraded the case and PSU.... Any ideas here???? 24. Pc was running fine a week ago then after Gaming for 3ish hours pc restarted and now keeps randomly restarting and I don't know what to do anymore. Prebuilt and warranty is ended. Tried updating chipset and bios. Reset everything to default in bios. Switched os to Linux pop from windows thinking it was software. Tested gpu nothing wrong, tested cpu as soon as I hit enter to run stress test (glmark2) pc restarted (temp idle was 45c) so I don't know if its cpu or just the random restart. Reseated everything and checked wires. Added new thermal paste. Uninstalled apps I thought might be causing issues. Purchased a brand new psu. Did a windows mem test no errors (When I had windows) event viewer showed kernel 41.
