I just came back from a one month vacation. Pc has not been plugged in while I was away. I boot up my PC and try to play some games, but whenever I open steam, epic launcher, Corsair Icue, my PC suddenly just shuts down. No BSOD, no error message, just a black screen. reliability monitor shows that the program I was currently using (steam, epic games launcher, so on) was the cause of the shut down. I think it might be a hardware issue since my PC was running smoothly before I went on vacation. I've tried the following: 1 stick of ram, tried both. Clear CMOS System restore. I managed to run a game on 1 stick, thinking that I fixed the issue, but as soon as I started testing the other stick of ram and swapping them around (even when clearing CMOS, every time) it seems like it just keeps crashes again. Anyone know what I can try before replacing my entire PC? Hello all! This is my first build and all has been going fairly well except when I launch any graphic intense game (Halo Infinite, Minecraft with Shaders), my PC shuts down with a little click (does not restart). More specifically, the PC will shut down anywhere from when I click play (in steam) to the menu screen of the game. Event Viewer shows this as a Kernel-Power 41 which is just an improper shut down of the system. The weird part is I've stress tested the my computer for 12 hours and nothing ever happens, temps remain below 70 degrees and no shut down. Also, creative applications like photoshop and illustrator don't cause this shut down either. I've update every driver I can think of, so it might be a hardware issue, but I just need some guidance. Rig: PSU: Seasonic PX850 (This is brand new) CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X Motherboard: ATX Gigabyte B550 GAMING X CPU cooler: NH-D15S RAM: 16 gb Kingston FURY DDR4 3600 (2 matching 8gb modules) GPU: GTX 1050 (I've been trying to upgrade, but you all know how it is out there) SSD: Samsung 980 Pro Case: Corsair 4000X OS: Windows 10 (Up to date as of 1/31/2022) Thanks for your help!

[URGENT] [LONG READ] Hello. The past few days have been so stressful for me because of my computer problems. For starters, my computer is a 2015 HP ProDesk 400 G3 SFF. It has served me faultlessly for the past 5 years. The problem started when my computer just randomly shut down whilst I was watching a film on my computer. Of course, it automatically restarted. But just a few seconds in, there suddenly was 3 red blinks and beeps, then 2 white ones on the power button. My screen kind of froze, as well, and my keyboard and mouse suddenly stopped working. I immediately unplugged the computer, and checked the PSU and CPU heatsink. The PSU was fine, and was just in normal temp. The CPU heatsink though, was burning hot. I grabbed a screwdriver, and removed the CPU fan and heatsink to check whatever happened. I then saw that the thermal paste was chapped dry. I wasn't quite alarmed as I thought it must have been natural, as the computer is already 5 years old. I also checked on HP's official support page what the blinks and beeps meant, and found out that it was an error code meant to help warn and troubleshoot computer problems. I found out that my error code 3.2 was signalling CPU overheat. So I was like, "ah well that confirms and settles it.". I thought all I had to do is re-apply thermal paste. So I ordered thermal paste online (we're on quarantine, can't go out). Took 3 days to arrive, and when it did, I immediately went on to work and re-paste my CPU. After re-pasting I kinda let it settle in first for about 10 minutes before I decided to use the computer again. After using it, it then again overheated and the error code blinks were there again. So I was kinda taken aback and decided to check what the hell I did wrong. I figured that I might have added too much paste. So, I cleaned off the newly applied paste, and re-pasted again. Now with just a pea-sized paste on the CPU, and 3 lines on the heatsink. I then again let it settle first for a few minutes before turning the computer on. It worked fine, and there was no longer overheating issues. Within around 30 minutes of usage, it just suddenly shut down again. I was just bamboozled at that moment. Like before, it automatically restarted. And yet again, with just a few seconds in, the blinks started again. This time it was 5 red blinks, and 2 white ones. I, again, checked it in the official HP support site, and saw that it was a "system board" error, particularly "The embedded controller cannot find valid firmware.". The listed solutions are: 1. Remove any recently inserted Hardware. 2. Reset CMOS. 3. Update BIOS while removing affected components. 4. Test known good component. 5. Replace component or system board as needed. So I started doing it. I turned off the computer, and unplugged the AC adapter/wire from the PSU. I removed the CMOS battery for about 30 minutes to let it reset. Put it back, then I turned the computer on. I went to the BIOS setup and found the BIOS update part. Clicked it. Downloaded the update. And just as I was about to reboot it after the update download, my computer just suddenly shut down. I tried it again and again, and really, it just shuts down right at that moment when I'm about to click the reboot button. It's like it doesn't want me to update it. Guys, what should I do? How can I fix this? I really hope there is something I can do, and that it is nothing major as I don't exactly have the budget to make a major repair, let alone buy a new one. This is also pretty urgent as this is for my online schooling and some work. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thanks in advance if your to help me with this problem!

Hey yall, I've been trying to play Half Life Alyx and so far have had zero issues. I got to Chapter 7: Jeff and there's this wierd red fog I'm supposed to walk through to get to the next area but when I walk through it my entire PC just instantly shuts off and goes to a black screen. The whole PC loses power. It's never happened before so i'm just really confused what's happening with it. Hi there people! I'm the owner of a 5 year old Toshiba satellite 17"laptop that was working perfectly until recently when it started having random shutdowns. At first it would just turn off and I could just turn it on again and continue with my work, however lately it started shutting down and I wouldn't be able to turn it back on until I took out both Ram and ssd with the battery, pressed power button few times, returned ram ssd and battery back and pressed power button to boot it. Note that laptop is not overheating as far as I can tell Temperatures go from 40 to 65 degrees Celsius. Air filter is cleaned of dust and thermal paste reapplied. And it will shut down faster if I run more tasking processes. What could be the problem? Edit: OS is windows 10

Hello, I have been struggling to find the culprit of what is making my pc randomly shut down completely while gaming in particular. My build is an AMD Ryzen 3 2200g along with 8 gb of crucial ballistix ram on an MSI B450M Pro-M2, Patriot Burst 120gb ssd and a 1TB WD Blue HDD. My power supply is a Silverstone ET-450B 450W. My pc just suddenly shuts off and the EZ Debug LED is stuck on CPU. The only way to be able to use the pc is to restart it completely. Please help and thank you.

Hey guys! So I've just experienced my first "random shut down", my monitor went into hibernation mode and said "no signal", and my keyboard also shut down (the RGB went out). I tried to shut down the pc by holding down the power button but it wouldn't shut the system down, so I had to pull the switch. It's the first time i experience something like this, so I dont know whats going on, hoping that you guys could help me. I was simply watching a movie not doing anything heavy, I've never experienced this before even while gaming at heavy load. Hope you guys can help me out!

Hi I know this question has been asked many times and many question has been answered. But i just want to make sure what is the problem with my system. My system shutdown and restart when i'm playing highly intensive games like, Mirrors Edge Catalyst, Shadow Warrior 2, ect. ect. I have been monitoring my Temp and i found out the temp is normal. CPU - 37C idle and max of 47-53C full load and my GPU 41C on idle and max of 67-72C while playing games which is i think pretty good with the stock cooler. When My PC shutdown and restart i has no display but all fan and pump are working and need to wait from 10-20 mins before i can turn it on again.. I think it is not overheating issue and also i think my CX600M PSU "the green one not the new grey one" have enough power to power up my system even in full load or Maybe its my Motherboard or PSU? CPU:i5 3330 GPU: GTX 970 EXCO From Galax PSU: CX600M Thanks in advance!

Hi everybody, First my specs: Ryzen 5 1600 Crucial 16gb DDR4 Ram 2133mhz Sapphire R9 270x 2GB Dual x Asrock 320m Pro4 Seagate 1TB HDD 500W PSU Win 10 Pro 64bit I'm frustrated. I recently build a new computer (everything except the graphics card is only about 1 1/2 month old) and it was up and running fine for about a month. About 2 weeks ago it recently crashed without giving me any hint what might be wrong. The screen went black but the computer kept running and even the USB ports still have been active. No BSOD or anything the only thing is the standard Event ID 41 after loading "npsvctrig.sys". Since then the crashes occur randomly and sometimes the computer is restarting by itself sometimes it's just stuck untill i restart it. Sometimes it's running for about 8 hours without any problems and sometimes it crashes within the first 10 minutes after starting the computer. The situation in which it crashes also seem to be random since it happens during playing a game aswell as in idle. Things i already tried are: updating my Bios to version 3.10, Memtesting my Ram for about 24hours without any errors, hooking up a different PSU, checking my HDD and of course updating all the drivers + a complete fresh install of Windows. I really don't know what to do anymore since i don't have a spare graphicscard to check whether that's the cause of error. Thanks in advance i really hope anyone can help here.

Hello all fellow tech enthusiasts, I present today a conundrum. My gaming/workstation rig has been randomly shutting down for a while now. The specs are as follows Intel i5 6600 CPU Corsair RM550x PSU B150m Plus D3 Motherboard from ASUS (All Fan Headers used) Windows 10 v1703 Gigabyte GTX 1050Ti Storage 480GB SSD 2x 4TB Seagate 5900RPM drives 1x 2TB 2.5 inch Seagate Drive 2x Blu-Ray Burners 4x4GB Kingston HyperX RAM Information gleaned from troubleshooting: Not heat related. CPU and GPU are all running quite cool, well below thermal throttling points. Not related to RAM. Ran a full suite on it with memtest86. Zero errors. System is stable in UEFI. Only when in Windows does the power loss occur. (And sometimes it only gets to the boot logo) When a failure occurs, system will sometimes power back on, then off after a second after that multiple times.before successfully starting. My system only draws ~160W under full load, but I wanted the silent feature of my current PSU and good futureproofing for the future. Troubleshooting done thus far: Reseated 24Pin Power. Flipped PSU orientation Ran sfc /scannow to eliminate Windows corruption. No integrity violations Safe mode appears to be stable. When running WIndows, HWINFO64 reports good voltages. No overclocking has been done, all components are running at stock speeds. ASUS anti-surge kept triggering before, and I later disabled it due to reading online it can be overly sensitive. I'd hate for it to be a malfunctioning PSU, especially coming out of a brand like Corsair. However, I have kept all my purchase dockets and are well within my warranty period.

random shutdown Random Shutdowns, Then Several Power Cycles
Auyott posted a topic in Troubleshooting
I wasn't sure how to categorize this post, as I'm not sure what component is causing it, but I am fairly certain it is either the PSU or the Motherboard. Before I get on with the question, I will provide all of my system specs, as I believe that could be useful when responding: PSU: EVGA Supernova 650 G2 Motherboard: MSI Z270 SLI Plus (LGA 1151) CPU: Intel Core i7 7700K (Turbo clock @4.5ghz; cooled by Hyper 212X) GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 3000 (2x8) 16 GBs Storage: 1x Samsung 850 EVO SSD (500 GBs) and 1x Toshiba dt01aca200 (7200 RPM; 2 TB) The problem I am having is as follows: 1. I will be playing a game as normal (usually No Man's Sky); everything functions 2. After about 5-10 minutes, the PC will randomly shut down and it will power cycle SEVERAL times 3. Eventually, after several power cycles, I will be met with a black screen stating that my BIOS has been restored to default (this is the same screen that appears when you clear your CMOS) 4. Everything returns to normal until I start playing an intensive game again (it functions perfectly when not playing intensive games. I can play light games and do any desktop functions, and in fact, I'm actually typing this on the very PC I am talking about). I built this PC three days ago. For the last couple days, everything has been functioning perfectly; this just started happening. I would normally assume this to be caused by the power supply, as during the power cycling, I can hear the power supply producing several ticks per second, but I mostly trust my power supply, as I have been using it for over a year in my build before this with no issues. I have tried disabling settings in the BIOS that are known for causing instability, such as XMP. No luck. I have updated to the latest BIOS available for my motherboard in attempt to mend the issue, but the problem still persists. If anyone knows what component is causing this or what I could do to fix this, please share your knowledge with me. I am not sure where to go from here. Also, I forgot to mention, my thermals are perfectly fine. Both my GPU and CPU typically stay in the 60's under full load, sometimes the 70's with the CPU when benchmarking (also, for some reason benchmarking doesn't cause shutdowns, only games).- 17 replies

random shutdown Cause of Random Shutdowns and Power Cycling
Auyott posted a topic in Troubleshooting
I made a post yesterday about the system I built a few days ago that began suffering from random shutdowns and insanely extensive power cycling/bootlooping. A helpful user helped me diagnose the issue as having to do with the GPU, however, I can now confirm this is not the case, as the system now shuts down (albeit less frequently) on integrated graphics. After it shuts down, the power supply makes a repeated clicking noise for several minutes as the system turns on and off repeatedly. Is it the power supply or the motherboard causing it at this point? I ran extensive tests on the CPU and RAM, and those seem to be fine. The power supply is a concern of mine due to the clicking noise and the fact that it shuts down sooner when I am drawing more power. The motherboard concerns me as it is a new part that I have no reason to trust, and every time it shuts down and bootloops, it clears my CMOS. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Luckily, all of my parts are still in warranty, so if necessary, an RMA can be done.- 6 replies

Hey, I was running a Aida 64 extreem stability test and the system was experiencing thermal throttling so I stopped the test. Right after I stopped the test the system shuts down and restarts. What could this be? HP elitebook 850 g4 I5 7200U, 16gb ddr4, AMD r7 350m The cpu was undervolted but I was using it stable for a 3 weeks.

Hey guys. First of all, specs: mobo - Asus rog strix x470-f gaming cpu cooler - noctua nh-u12s se-am4 psu - Corsair RM750X V2 750w 80 plus gold modular gpu - EVGA Geforce RTX 2070 Black Gaming 8 GB GDDR6 ram - Kingston HyperX Predator DDR4 3200 PC4-25600 16 GB 2x8GB CL16 cpu - amd ryzen 7 2700x Two weeks ago, I built my first pc and for 3/4 days everything was fine. The most intensive activity I do is gaming. One day, the pc randomly shuts down (no warning, no bluescreen, just powers down) while I was in a game and I couldn't turn it on until I turned off and on the power on the PSU. Remembered i didn't updated the bios version, did that. The next day no problems (did a full day gaming) and the day after, another random shutdown, this time while watching an episode. Then I double checked that everything was in place, Ram sticks weren't. The sticks were in A1, B1. But according to the manual, the best configuration is A2 and B2. So i changed that. And i ran prime95 for stress testing the cpu and mem86 to test the ram, 75ºC peak temp on the cpu and no errors on the memory and, specially, no shutdown. A day went by (I played an GPU/CPU intensive game on that day for 4 hours) and on the next day another shutdown and not turning on until i resetted the power supply, while gaming. Reseated cpu and cooler, cleaned it with alcohol (waited for it to evaporate), reapplied thermal paste (size of a pea, double checked with a friend). The day after that, used prime95 again to test the cpu and the pc didn't turn off. The other day once again shutdown, while gaming. Resetted the CMOS and for a full day no problems. Next day, another shutdown. Then I tried to take a ram stick out, run memtest64 no problems, played 15/30 min and down, switched the sticks and same. Then I inserted the two ram sticks and remembered that while researching the problem I read that some people had problems with the MOBO rgb and that I tried to uninstall Asus aura and only the aura service was uninstalled, the program wasn't. Next day, at the end of the day another shutdown. So, I did a fresh install of windows. Next day no problems, but today (one day later) all morning was turned on, played a game for like 1 hour in the afternoon without problems, made a break from gaming, switched games and after 30 minutes another shutdown. Then went to bios to change the ram profiles. Tried both DOCP profiles and at most 5 minutes the pc shuts down. Resetted power supply and didn't even get to post, down instantly. Tried 4/5 times same thing. Then waited a little bit, finally managed to get to bios and changed performance enchancer back to auto. Got to windows. Turned on a game to test and you guessed it shutdown. As the time of this post, pc doesn't stay on for 5 minutes, idle Sometimes the pc gets stuck in boot loops. rarely tho Any more tests that you can think of ?

So I've been encountering an issue ever since I upgraded my 660ti to a 970 recently (yes, I'm behind). I enjoy gaming, but since upgrading I encounter random shutdowns regularly. It happens so often that it's usually the reason I call it a night. I have a FX-8150, gtx970, 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, a 650 Watt Power supply. I was looking elsewhere online and saw that my issue would likely be a overheating issue. I originally thought that was the case, but since It is still happening when I have my graphics card underclocked by ~900 MHz and my CPU underclocked to 1.3 GHz with appropriate undervolting to both, I no longer think it is the issue. What's wrong with my system????

random power off Computer randomly turns off
Catsrules posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I have a system that will randomly turn off every so often. Maybe happens 2 or 3 times a month. By turn off I mean on for one second and off the next like someone pulled the cord. I have to press the power button to get it back on. It doesn't appear to be related to what the computer is doing, could be browsing the web, or reading an email or idle. Temps all appear to be fine both under load and idle fans appear to be working normally as well. I have checked the event logs in windows the only thing I see is a Kernel Power error, saying the system was turn off unexpectedly. No errors apart from that, as far as windows is concerned it just loss of power. I have swapped out the power supply with a spare but that didn't fixed the problem. So I put the original one back in (It was a newer and better supply anyways). I also tested both supplies with a power supply tester and they pass all voltages within tolerances. I have updated all drivers in the system I have updated the BIOS I have ran memtest and a stress test overnight no issues. I have tested the wall socket it is wired correctly. I have tested the UPS the computer is connected to, battery is good. I have cleaned the system (blown out dust). Any ideas? My next guess would be replace the motherboard? This is probably not software related correct? Specs Motherboard: Asus sabertooth Z170 Mark 1 CPU:I7 6700K Video card: Nvidia GTX 750 ti Power Supply: Corsair RM750X Thanks -

So my desktop is being a little weird and it does three main things which cause me some concern. Sometimes, when I try to get it to sleep, it comes right back out. Also, when left idle for a bit, I'll come back to find the monitor showing no display but all the lights on my keyboard and case are on, and my fans are spinning (both case and gpu fans). In that instance, the computer is totally unresponsive to mouse or keyboard inputs and the only way to bring it back is to press the reset switch on my case which restarts it. And in rare instances, I will put the computer to sleep, or leave it idle for and hour or more only to find it totally off when I return. Help would greatly be appreciated, my build can be found on my profile.

Hello, I have a really weird problem. The computer (i7-4930K, GTX770, GA-X79-UP4, 32G of Corsair Dominator RAM, 1150W of power supply) turns off after random amount of time (20~60 minutes) of playing World of Warcraft (and occasionally Divinity: Original Sin). After that it stays off for about 10 minutes, any attempts to turn it on within that amount of time fail. After 10 minutes pass, it automatically turns on. Nothing else makes it shut down, including various stress tests for CPU / GPU. No amount of 3D rendering in 3DSMax (scenes with more than 4M polygons) does that either. Running Witcher 3, a game far more demanding, does not result in that either. What has been checked: VRAM is ok, RAM is fine, CPU / GPU overheating is not present throughout all the benchmarks and stress tests applied (including while running wow). Resetting BIOS / UEFI settings to safe factory defaults didn't change anything. All the hardware looks fine, no melting or expanding of capacitors present (or any other forms of visible damage).

I reaaaaaally could use some help with this, I'm out of ideas. So yesterday, my PC suddenly shut down. No BSOD, nothing. I checked Event viewer, and I had a Kernel power (Event 41) error with bugcheckcode 0 (which is weird). I assumed it was just another "power dip". I've had those before in this area, though they're not very common. In the evening, however, I had another shutdown, again with bugcheckcode 0. This time I asked my brother if his PC had rebooted, which it hadn't, so I knew it was an issue with my PC. It just happened again, so I'm looking for some help. I'll just write whatever I found out up until this point in a list, might be easier to read: - At one point, one of the Event Viewer entries displayed Bugcheckcode 281 (randomly, I can't find it anymore. I'm really sure I saw it, but it seems to have reset to 0), which is 119 (0x119) in hexadecimal. I looked it up and it's something to do with video, usually an issue with GPU drivers. As I'd installed new drivers the day before, I suspected those were the issue, but the problem persists after rolling back the drivers. EDIT: The code is back in event viewer. I have no idea why it changes... - Because windows doesn't seem to know what is causing the issue, I suspected my PSU might be the issue, so I tried stressing the entire system with AIDA64, which resulted in nothing, the PC passed (fairly short) stress tests without issues. I was hoping to be able to reproduce the issue like this, to confirm the PSU as being the culprit, but that didn't happen... - I have 1 minidump file, from the first time it happened. The other times it hasn't created a dump. Inside the dump is the error code I saw before (0x119), supposedly caused by "watchdog.sys". - before every shutdown, there is the same 4 information events. Every time, without fail. They're "filter manager" events, stating: File System Filter 'aswSnx' (6.0, 2015-08-12T16:44:50.000000000Z) has successfully loaded and registered with Filter Manager.File System Filter 'FileCrypt' (10.0, 2015-07-10T05:14:31.000000000Z) has successfully loaded and registered with Filter Manager.File System Filter 'aswSP' (6.0, 2015-07-27T19:34:27.000000000Z) has successfully loaded and registered with Filter Manager.File System Filter 'npsvctrig' (10.0, 2015-07-10T05:14:31.000000000Z) has successfully loaded and registered with Filter Manager. It's ALWAYS these 4, in the same order, and then the shutdown. - I always keep track of my temps, they're not outside spec. GPU's max at 70C and 67C, CPU maxes at 55C. - I Haven't changed any hardware lately. -The shutdowns happened Twice while playing Mad Max (Have played a lot of that recently, so might be coincidence) and once while watching youtube. Specs: PSU: Corsair TX850 - 850W CPU: i7 2600k @ 4.0GHz GPU: 2x ASUS GTX 970 STRIX (SLI) MOB: MSI Z68A GD65-G3 RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2x 8GB Sticks)

Alright guys, I've been dealing this this issue for almost 2 months now and I have run out of ideas to try to fix it so I'm coming to see if anyone else can shine some light where I'm going wrong. In November, my sister bought all the required components for me to build her a new PC, here is the specs list: i7 4790k 1150 socket size, Stock speeds Asus maximus VII Hero lga 1150 motherboard GTX 980 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) Crucial balistix sport RAM (1600 mhz and CL 9-9-9-24) TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 Dual Band Wireless N900 PCI Express Adapter (PCI WIFI adapter) 256 GB Samsung 850 Pro SSD 2 TB WD Black Drive Corsair HX750i PSU Corsair Hydro Series H100i CPU Cooler (Used with Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Grease) LG Bluray drive Samsung S32D850T 32" 2560x1440p Monitor Generic Corded mouse from Dell (also used Logitech M510) Corsair K70 RGB with cherry red switches Corsair 750D Case Alright, so I put the system together with no issues and everything and I booted it up and went into the BIOS and set the boot order up to boot to a flash drive that I had windows 8 pro on. I booted to this, installed windows on the samsung SSD and then booted into Windows. The Motherboard post was fine and it booted into windows with no issues. I then proceeded to install windows updates, windows 8.1, the motherboard drivers from the Asus website, the wifi adapter drivers, the 980 graphics drivers, and any other necessary programs like MSI afterburner, Corsair Link software, Samsung Magician. The first night is was fine. Then as we were using it, it suddenly shut off with no prior indication and everything just shut completely off. I checked the wall outlet and the surge protector and other things that were plugged into them were still powered so that counts the outlet and surge protector out. However, I still plugged the computer into many different outlets in different parts of the house to make sure it wasn't the outlet. The issue would still continue where the PC would randomly shut down with no indication or error (no BSOD and the only thing in eventview was an event 41 which is a kernal power loss where windows just states that the computer did not shut down cleanly). This issue seemed to happen whether it was under load, browsing a webpage, or just idling on the desktop. The time that it took to happen seems to be completely random too. It could take anywhere from 4 hours to 8 hours to up to 12 hours to happen (when the computer was running it did not seem to have any issues and everything was very fast). Here is a list of things I tried to troubleshoot the issue: -Ran Intel Burn test on the CPU and it was hitting about 69 to 71 degree celsius on that and passed without any stability issues -Ran Unigen Valley and a couple of games on the 980 and it had no issues running it at the 2560x1440p resolution and with no software crashes -The 980 was ran in a similar system with the same wattage PSU and similar Ivy Bridge i7 and was benchmarked and ran under games all day and did not have any issues with running them or with stability -The hx750i PSU was tested in the same system as above and had no issues running games and was shown to be supplying the correct voltage on the 12, 5, and 3.3 volt rails -The system was taken out of the 750D case to test for instabilities and shorts and was tested on each component's box. The problem still persisted and effectively ruled out any shorts in the case -My PSU (EVGA 1000 G2 Supernova) was tested in the system instead of the hx750i and was shown to exhibit the same issues. This PSU has been running in my system for well over a year and I have never had any problems with it (and my system draws more power than this one since I have 2 AMD 7970s in crossfire) -The system was ran without the PCI adapter WIFI card in it and was shown to exhibit the same issues -The mouse and keyboard were both unplugged and the system was ran without them and, yet, it still showed the same random shut down issues -Set the RAM to the XMP profile in the BIOS to make sure it was running at the right settings -Updated the motherboard BIOS to the latest version given on the website -Disabled the CPUs C6 and C7 power levels, because Haswell goes into a very low power state on standby and this could cause this issue (it ran for almost a full day but ended up shutting down) -Ran MemTest for about 10 passes and the RAM passed every single one -The motherboard seems to hang while posting sometimes on QCodes AE and A2 and the display does not detect a signal from the graphics card (not sure what is up here but the Motherboard could just be taking longer to POST than usual) -The GPU was taken out and the system was run on integrated graphics and it did not shut down for over a day (longer than any other time) and this led me to believe it was something with the motherboard's PCI lanes but I wasn't sure All of the above did not seem to fix the issue so I went ahead and RMA'd the motherboard to ASUS as this and the CPU were the two things that I could not explicitely test (and I don't think the CPU could be causing these random shutdowns). I contacted Asus and they said that it was in the repair stage and that there were some components that had to be replaced on the motherboard and that they were sending it back to me after it had been repaired. Once I had the mobo again, I put everything back together and within 4 hours it was shutting down randomly on me again. At this point, I do not know what to do. I do not have nor do I know anyone who has an 1150 socket CPU that I could test nor do I have another 1150 socket motherboard. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do? I have been building machines for people for 4 years now and I have never had this many issues with anything. At this point, I was planning on just calling Asus and demanding they send me a new board because I think this motherboard is shot but it could also be the CPU or something else that I am missing. I'm sorry about the wall of text but I really need some help on this one guys. Please give me some suggestions.

Hi My friend is having issues with his computer at the moment. His components are: PSU: Corsair CX600 (Brand new, replaced his 600W coolermaster non-80+ psu) MOBO: Asus M5A78L-M LX V2 CPU: AMD FX-6100 (stock speed) RAM: Kingston DDR3 1333MHz 8GB Kit CL9 GPU: XFX HD6870 1GB HDD: 160Gb toshiba 2,5' and WD Blue 1TB 3,5' Chassi: Fractal design r3 The Cpu temp got up to around 85 C (stock cooler <_< ) during a 30min prime95 stresstest without shutting down. After the CPU stresstest we played Guild Wars 2 without any issues for around 15 min, after that we closed GW2 and returned to windows desktop and the computer just shuts down. Later that day we were able to play around 3hours of GW2 without any issues until it suddenly shuts down again. The computer doesnt give off any wierd noices before turning off and it can be turned on again after crashing without any issues. I concider myself pretty good with computers, but I cant figure out whats wrong with his . Anyone out there with any knowledge that can help us?

Hi. My new build that I just got put together Friday. Hardware that I got in it: ASUS MAXIMUS VII IMPACT Z97 LGA 1150 MiniITX, i7-4790K H100i, Corsair HX 1050W Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB), ATI 7970, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB. Im re'using the PSU and GPU from my previous build. Which worked fine in that build. The first time booting it up, it clicks, all fans start for 1 sec then reboots and repeat like in this video . http://youtu.be/8bL0YitPvOs I tried wiggle the gpu and put it out and back in. After that I got it started, installed all needed programs and Windows 8. Saturday: I moved it up to a friend for a mini LAN. It started doing it again but I got it running and could play all day and night with highend games. To note it shutdown auto when I plugged in my usb headset, did it again out of nothing when I played 7 days to die. No BSOD or anything. I did the stress test that comes along with ASUS, the CPU runs at 30'ish celcius when idle and is not OC'ed. Sunday: it does it again. I might be thinking it could be the GPU but then again its been working fine ever since I bought it,. I also played some Supreme Commander for a few hours. Monday: I removed the GPU and noticed some grease on the gold pins. After that it could now boot, but there was no picture on screen with the onboard hdmi. I gently press on the DIMM_ai RAM block and it shuts down. After that I get the FLBK LED flashing red. I try to remove the a2 RAM block and press CMOS so it stops the red blinking but it wont boot up Im all out of ideas here, and need some help
