If anyone has this F4-3600C16Q-32GTZNC Which G.skill's 32Gb 4x8GB 16-19-19=39 kit and managed to reduce the timings, What were you able to achieve with it? don't care all to much about any speeds above the stock 3600Mhz DO NOT REPLY TO THIS FORUM POST, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH SAID RAM KIT! those who do, I thank you.

So as stated, I wanted to get a basic guideline for safe voltages for SOC voltages on the new 5000 Series AMD chips. Would it be the same as Ryzen 3000 series? Fi so could you link an article/articles about them? Also, Planning on getting an ASrock B550 Board, I heard there BIOS can be a little hard to navigate and have some differences in layout compared to other boards? is this true? and what should I be mindful of when I use them? Another thing. I heard they have some really weird Memory/SOC voltage/timing settings, Could y'all explain them? DO NOT POST ON THIS THREAD IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AND ANSWER FOR THESE QUESTION, PEOPLE WITH EXPERIENCE PLEASE! Anyway, thankyou have great day y'all!

After seeing Linus get corrected by Buildzoid of AHOC (Actual Hardcore Over-Clocking) channel. I thought I would make a simple guide to help those who need a reference guide for RAM / Memory Timings. For those who need a Look Up Table on how to decipher your RAM timings and what's the true speed behind those Clock Cycle numbers listed on your (DIMM AKA Memory Module)'s sticker. I made a "Home Made" new version of the RAM Timing table and color-coded the RAM speeds that are listed in (ns = Nano-Seconds). Here's the Image Version: Here's the original Excel Spread Sheet file for those who want it: RAM Timings.xls Here's a sample of the Sticker that shows yoru RAM timings, you can usually either find a picture of the RAM Timing Stickers online for your Memory Module of choice or it'll be listed in the product listing. Wikipedia also has a good simple explanation for Memory Timing / RAM Timing. The Wikipedia article will explain what each of the RAM Memory Timings {CL - tRCD - tRP - tRAS - CR = Units are measured in (Clock Cycle's)} mean. NOTE: CR = Command Rate: Usually is either 1T or 2T. 1T is generally preferable & faster, but 2T is acceptable. It's a timing I wouldn't worry that much about in the grand scheme of things compared to the other timings. If you have any other questions, I'll do my best to help within reason.

I live in America. So here is the deal, my cpu is definitely holding me back. The frame drops are just too much to ignore and not to mention that I have had this cpu for about 5 years ish now. So basically I am heavily leaning towards picking up a ryzen 3900x (and the other parts needed for it). I don't care that much about budget, but would like to keep the upgrades around $1,000 (max I would go is probably 2000) but keep in mind that I am probably going to keep my power supply, gpu, storage, pc case, peripherals and cpu cooler. When I built this pc I admittedly didn't know what I was getting myself into or how to choose parts. This time around however I am not cheaping out (within reason) and would like to be smart about upgrading my system. However there are several thoughts for consideration on my part... First is that I am thinking it doesn't really make sense to pick up a ryzen r9 3900x without a good gpu to match it, so I don't know how badly I will bottleneck things if I don't upgrade my gpu. Secondly I do a lot of heavy multitasking while playing videogames like watching youtube while playing battlefield 1 or whatever game, I will also start writing my own music soon, so a decent cpu and ram (and plenty of it probably) would be a good idea. Third I would like to overclock my system pretty heavily, so I might need to upgrade my power supply (not certain on that part). Fourth I will be starting to do artificial intelligince research sometime within the upcoming year (in other words I need a decent gpu and I am not sure if I should just upgrade it). Fifth I will be in college for my 3rd year of computer science, so this will be the system that I remote into and do 99.9% of my programming on. Sixth I am thinking about upgrading to an m.2 ssd for my main boot drive so that I have much greater performance (I think its worth it, but I would like your guys thoughts on it as well). Seventh I want really decent ram this time (and could use some help understanding cas latency and ram timings and how that affects real world gaming and work performance). Eighth I want a really decent motherboard this time as well so I could use some help understanding vrm phases and what to look for in a really premium motherboard (and what is just a waste of money) also on that note I have heard that vrm phases barely matter now because of the way ryzen is made. Is this true or am I mistaken? Ninth I am thinking about picking up a second duplicate dell 165 hz monitor (because I have heard that there are issues with having 2 monitors with separate refresh rates plugged into your graphics card). Tenth is it worth it to get 32 gb of ram for my use cases? Eleventh would it be worth waiting for the 3950x to come out purely from a gaming performance perspective? Twelfth should I just upgrade almost everything and start from scratch? Thirteenth should I just bear with it till I graduate and can just upgrade the whole thing in one big swath? Sorry for the wall of text, but as you can see there is a lot of stuff on my mind because there are a lot of things to consider as I am upgrading. Any help would be greatly appreciated... Hello, So its a very basic confusion but my leg is stuck in some unknown shit and i cannot solve it for some dumb reason. I've decided to upgrade my ram from 8 to 16GB The original memory in my motherboard Asus Z270F is a HyperX 8gb Part number: hx421c14fb/8 I know it is said that ram should be the same and a higher speed ram might cause problems to the lower speed one. But i cannot find hx421c14fb/8 anywhere online or retail shops to buy and the only one available is hx421c14fb2/8 The only difference is the number 2 at the end. Also for the hx421c14fb2/8 the Refresh to Active/RefreshCommand Time (tRFCmin) is 350ns(min.) and for the hx421c14fb/8 the Refresh to Active/RefreshCommand Time (tRFCmin) is 260ns(min.) Will be any problem if i install the hx421c14fb2/8 with the existing hx421c14fb/8 one? I mostly use this system for light video editing and a bit of gaming. Thanks in advance.

Hello i successfully overclocked my DDR4 Ram to 3800 Mhz from 3600 Mhz also overclocked the timings using the Dram Calculator 1.7 latest version however 1 part in the dram calculator it shows the TRFC Value default is 374 and the overclocked calculator value is 504. So my 1st question is in this particular timing is it better to have it lower or higher? Is it increasing to compensate since i'm overclocking the mhz to 3800 from 3600. As far as the TRFC value it gives me 504 but the bios also asks for TRFC2 and TRFC4 so do i leave it to auto in the bios? According to this article online your supposed to use this formula TRFC / 1.346 = TRFC2 and then for TRFC4 value you do TRFC2 / 1.625 so is it better to use this formula or to just leave it at auto? Where did the 1.346 and the 1.625 formula even come from and how is that formula correct? Can someone explain? In my case i did use that formula in the bios settings and it was successful but i was wondering if it would be better to leave it at auto or keep it the way it is. Which would be better performance?

Hi. I'm all out of ideas so I decided to ask for help. I have two sets of ram, same brand and same rated speeds. Both are Adata XPG D10's and are rated to run @ 2666 mhz. The recent I bought that was a bundle with my motherboard and processor has timings of 16 18 18 @ 1.2v which is 2x4 gb's that I'm using now. The kit actually can handle an xmp of 2933 mhz which is actually great on my end so I decided to purchase more of the same, and since I needed the ram size upgrade to 16gb for digital works. I wanted to have a little upgrade so I decided to purchase another set of the same brand. The timings on them was never disclosed on the product page which I assume would be the same as the one I bought before. The new ones have timings of 16 16 16 still under 1.2v. Whenever I use the kit together, it actually boots the pc up. Works sometimes and sometimes has some random BSOD's and crashes. At times games won't work or apps randomly crashes. I just wanted to know if I can actually set the timings for both rams manually on my bios to something. I already tried playing with it for a bit but never manually. Just the one option from the motherboard that can get you to set the rated speed and timings automatically. It was named "Memory try it!" something from an MSI motherboard. A b450 bazooka plus. Purchasing a new set of ram actually won't work for me since my budget is really tight as of now and still making ends meet. I work as a digital artist and offers are kind of scarce due to the ongoing pandemic and such. If ever I can set the ram timings manually, what do I need to change them to? Please help me.

I have found on microcenter that this ram https://www.microcenter.com/product/611392/gskill-ripjaws-v-16gb-(2-x-8gb)-ddr4-3600-pc4-28800-cl18-dual-channel-desktop-memory-kit-f4-3600c18d-16gvk---black has worse timings than this ram https://www.microcenter.com/product/481738/gskill-ripjaws-v-16gb-(2-x-8gb)-ddr4-3200-pc4-25600-cl16-dual-channel-desktop-memory-kit-f4-3200c16d-16gvkb---black Should I get the 3600mhz ram with slower ram timings or the 3200mhz ram with faster timings but lower mhz??

Hi to everyone! I am about to make a new system with 16Gb of ram for now, and everything was going good till I bumped in this Dual/Single Rank thing with these Samsung/Hynix ICs and their different A/B/D/E/M/S-Die grade!! So things got more confused and now I don't get either what I was assuming to know. My system is Intel based on Z370, and I'm not intended to overclock...maybe just a little, but looking forward only in the Ram selection. For this reason I was looking for some 3000 or 3200 DDR4 with good Cycles and Timings. What I've understood since now is: Rank: Dual is better then Single Die: A/B is better then M/S My questions are: What about Hynix? Quality speaking is it better Samsung of Hynix? better 2x8Gb Single Rank B-Die or 2x8Gb Dual Rank E-Die? 16Gb solution (my beginning): better single stick 16Gb or 2x8Gb? (first case will give me possibility to upgrade to 2x16Gb) 32Gb solution (my destination): better 2x16Gb or 4x8Gb?? (as upgraded to 32Gb) Thank you very much.

I am still playing around with my new Ryzen build and have toyed with overclocking my 2700X for a bit to see my highest Cinebench score and am now working on a permanent RAM overclock. My G.SKILL TridentZ 3200MHz 16-18-18-38 kit goes to 3400MHz without anything but a slight increase in voltage, but I just learned looser timings can mean higher achievable clock speeds. Also I learned there is a way to calculate what changes on clock speed and timings will translate to faster performance, but was feeling lazy and was hoping someone had already found the solution to my question. Additionally I haven't found a stable overclock for my memory past 3400MHz with only increased voltages and I have removed the overclock from my CPU. Motherboard is an Asus Prime X470 Pro.

I have a Hp envy m6-1105dx laptop that has the following specs AMD A10-4600M , Triinity 32nm Technology RAM 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-10-24) Motherboard Hewlett-Packard 18A6 (Socket FT1) Graphics 512MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 7660G (HP) I have turned down the cpu to 2.3 ghz has I have not noticed any serious FPS losses on the games I play ( Race Room Racing, Feed and Grow Fish, War Thunder, Argo) the cooling benefits are worth it, I no longer thermal throttle when the CPU tries to maintain 3.2 ghz. I overclocked the gpu to 979 Mhz up from 667 Mhz. I would like to overclock the ram for more frequency or better timings. The laptop has been advertised to have 3053MB total graphics memory yet I am only seeing 512MB of graphics memory. Cooling is not a problem thanks to my Oplar laptop fan :D) Can someone help me to: Get the Pc to recognize the right GPU memory Overclock the Ram frequency or timings

Hello everyone, I am upgrading my friend's PC he wants every slot in his motherboard filled in! So he has already 32GB of memory (this one: Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK32GX4M2A2400C14) the timings on these ones are 14-16-16-31. We found him on eBay the same memory (Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK32GX4M2A2400C16) but with slightly different timings: 16-16-16-39 The question is if I order him this ram pair will it work smoothly with his existing one together? And is the XMP profile the same for all of them or I will have to create a new overclocking (2400) profile to match them all? "I know it is more than enough of RAM, but some people like my friend wants best of the best". The speed, brand and size of the RAMs are the same. Thanks a lot for tips and advices.

I have 3 DDR3 RAM modules already installed in my system, all running at their rated 1600MHz with 11-11-11-28 timings. I am planning to get a fourth module, which may have lower timings. Can I increase timings on the last module to match my existing ones? I had 2 modules of a 2x4GB kit at first, then I bought another one which is running perfectly. Now I wanna fill up the last slot. There are many CL9 modules being sold, hence the question. System (just in case it matters): CPU - Intel i5 4590 Mobo - Asus H97 M-E RAM - 2 x 4GB Team Elite+ DDR3-1600, 1 x 4GB Team Elite DDR3-1600

Basically i have 4 sticks of RAM thats 800MHz DDR2 some is slower timings and some is faster, im currently using the faster because, well its better duh, anyway what i have installed right now is 2x2GB of 800MHz (cant remmember clocks) RAM from corsair for a total of 4GB which is enough for what im doing on that computer, which is currently figuring out why CS:GO dosent like me basically but in the future it will also be used as a server once i just get everything sorted with CS:GO, but it annoys me to just have 4GB of perfectly fine 800MHz RAM just laying around so i was wondering if i should slow down the timmings on the RAM im currently using to see if they will work together, they currently dont through all my tries this far putting them in diffirent slots and stuff but it would be nice to have 8GB of ram becuase its slightly better and would make for a slightly better PC. TL;DR i have 4GB of 800MHz DDR2 laying around, should i slow down the clocks of my current RAM with same frequency but faster clocks and try to use all sticks too for 8GB of total system memory or is it not worth the effort or should i try to speed up the clocks of the slower ram to make them work? thanks for any replies and any help or suggestions because i know almost nothing about RAM timings

So my ram is 2 sticks of 4gb Kingston Hyperx 1866mhz that should run at 1.65V (KHX1866C9D3/4G) But I can't enable XMP-profiles for some reason, but i manually set the ram to 1866mhz @ 1,64V but then my timings went worse. Then upped it to 2133mhz @ 1,7V and got even worse timings. Why is all this? 1333mhz 1.5V @ 9-9-9-24 1866mhz 1.64V @ 11-13-13-34 2133mhz 1.7V @ 11-14-14-36 Will this impact performace in any way? http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KHX1866C9D3_4G.pdf Why am I not getting the right timings? Thanks in advance!
