I recent bought some more RAM as I originally had 16GB. I wanted to upgrade to 32GB. I bought the same RAM as I had bought before for my PC build back in January 2020. They were both 16GB (2x8GB) and rated at 3200MHz. I installed the RAM into the board. Booted the PC up and I opened up the BIOS to enable XMP for the RAM. I enabled XMP and saved the changes and the PC did its little restart. Except that it didn't restart. When I turn my PC on, the fans usually are quite fast and then slow down once it boots up. However, with the RAM change, the fans would not stop going full speed. I left it for 10 Mins and nothing happened, just a black screen. I talked to a friend about it and suggested I do a CMOS restart by taking the Battery out of the Motherboard to restart the system. Then I booted it up again, I opened up the BIOS and the RAM was set at 2133MHz by default. I tried 2400MHz and that seems to run fine. When I try to run it at 2666MHz, it does the same and stays on black screen until a CMOS reset. But I want to run all RAM sticks at 3200Mhz for the best possible performance. Hi! I upgraded my pc yesterday from Intel to AMD . After a trying to everything, I found out that the 3rd and 4th ram slot seems to cause the pc to not boot and make it stuck on the DRAM Lights. The 1st and 2nd Slot works but if I put a Ram stick in the 3rd or 4th It wont boot. (Note: The Ram has no problems I tested both of them and showed no problems and I am also running the RAM in the 1st and 2nd slot for now) If You Have Any Suggestions That Can Help Pls Comment it Down Specs: MSI B550 Gaming Plus Ryzen 5 5600X GeForce RTX 2070 Super T-Create 3200MHz (2x16) 32GB EVGA 1300w G2 80+ Gold

Setup: CPU: 5950x MB: Tried both x570 Aorus Master and x570 Asus Dark Hero RAM: 4x8gb Dominator Platinum 3600MHz CL18 GPU: RTX3090 PSU: 1200W Asus Thor Cooling: Full water loop Problem: Please see attached image, out of 4 sticks of ram installed only 1 or 2 are included in the total available memory. I can get any 2 sticks working in slots A2 and B2, with XMP enabled. I have had all 4 sticks working, until one day it just didn't. If I try booting with all 4 sticks installed it often won't even boot to the bios, it just shows the 0d boot code on the MB. Tried So Far: Tried all 4 sticks of RAM in my wife's (intel i7-8700) computer an it all works fine Increased DRAM voltage to 1.35V then 1.4V Increased SOC voltage to 1.05V then 1.1V Tried every combination of sticks in every slot Changed MB from Aorus Master to Asus Dark Hero, all 4 sticks worked in XPM for approximately a week then one morning the errors popped up again. Reseated RAM and CPU. Loosen CPU block, tighten CPU block. Shout at it.... Back Story: I have built plenty of sensible budget PC's in my life, but this is my first over the top build, and it is the only computer I have every had any trouble with. This is driving me nuts as it worked perfectly for a few weeks, I have it working now with two sticks in A2 and B2 and it seems solid. I suspect the CPU but not sure an RMA is possible as I have of course played with PBO2 (who wouldn't), anyone had any experience RMAing an overclocked 5950x? Or even better have the really simple solution to my problem that I have just missed all along? Any help is appreciated. Cheers!

So a few weeks ago I finally got to finish building my first computer. I'm pretty proud of myself and it's been running good so far, but after setting it all up and installing all the drivers I realized that my ddr4 3000mhz rated ram was only been running at 2133mhz this whole time. I read that it was common for it to run at lower ratings and that it was an easy fix and all that I had to do was boot into the bios and change to the xmp profile, but after doing that and exiting the bios my computer would crash whenever it booted up and just showed me the windows blue screen mentioning how I had corrupted something in the computer. I also remember it also mentioning something about voltage problems after looking up the code error. I didn't know what exactly had happened so I just restarted the computer and tried to boot into the bio again, but it wouldn't let me, and what followed after were a bunch of attempts at figuring out what was going on and how I could fix it. I'm not sure if it was something I did, or something the computer itself did but after a couple times restarting the computer it finally booted up as normal. I first looked at task manager and then in the bios and both mentioned how my ram was back to running at 2133. It was a big scare for me so since after that I tried to not mess around too much with stuff I don't really know anything about. I would appreciate any help or comments as to what I'm doing wrong or to what I need to do. So I am Building a mini itx build in the sentry pc case and I have run into the issue that the limited edition ram I got is to talk it is actually the dominator ram that Linus used in his mini pc build recently I was wondering if anybody knows where he got the ram extender hole thing he got????? Please I need help

Main specs: Intel core i5 7600k Maximus VIII Gene Trident Z RGB 3200 8x2 GTX 1060 3GB gaming x Hello, For the last week I have been having quite the headache trying to figure out why my TridentZ RGB will not run in dual channel with my 7600k. Here is what all is going on. When I first got all the components in the mail, I swapped the old Mobo cpu and ram for the current specs listed above. I powered on with no post during bios. The TZ RGB lit up just fine and generally it looked like everything was okay. I assumed since this motherboard is z170 that I needed a bios update so that the 7th gen cpu would work. So naturally I ran over to my good friends house with my pc and threw his 6700 in it and it ran perfectly in dual channel no issues. I did the bios update to version 3201 I believe, and threw my cpu back in my own pc, his 6700 back into his and left before testing. When I returned home later that night, hooked all my cords and things up. Still no post. I started playing around with the ram and found out that if I use only one Dimm in the farthest to the right most slot, my computer posts and recognizes the TZ Rgb just fine, but as soon as I place both in my board flashes certain Q codes in this order 1. 49 2. 01 3. 03 Than continues to loop 01 and 03 after brief periods of time. When I first power on, I get q code 49 and the cpu led lights up. Than q codes changes to 01 than dram led lights up than to 03 and cpu led lights up again, than 01 with dram led and 03 with cpu led rinse repeat. Ive tried memok and it fails every time. Ive tried clear cmos and optimized defaults with the single dimm in bios. Also. For whatever reason I cant use either dimm singularly. Only the certain dimm works on the rightmost slot. No other combination of the two dimms in whatever slots post whatsoever. Any help would be amazing right as Im pretty much giving up until I have some other ideas to go off of. Thanks everyone for the ideas and help ahead of time. Ill answer and question and clarify if necessary.

So i just upgraded to a ryzen 1600 paired with a asrock b450m pro 4 matx board. Bios is on the latest 3.10 i originally purchased a 2x8 patriot viper (PV416G300C6K) mem kit thats rated at 3000mhz with xmp 2. I couldn't post at all when turning on xmp settings. Leaving everything stock it automated to 2133mhz and everything ran smoothly. Not using xmp and manually bumping things up wouldnt work past 2666mhz. Since the ram isnt on the supported list i returned it and ordered the supported Patriot Viper Rgb 3200mhz (PVR416G320C6KW) the W is for white i think. Im having the same exact issue cant run the ram past 2666 whether or not im using xmp or not. I wanted to see what speed my ram was running at so i check task manager and cpu-z but both of them where lower then what the speed of my ram is. I have the G.skill 16GB F4-3000C15D in a Asus Tuf B450M-PLUS Gaming.

So I wanted to take off amd's ram speed lock as I was adviced by a friend so I went to The bios and found something which looked like it would work and now my pc turns onn but external devices like my keyboard light up and Theres no display whatsoever so I need to know what can I do Setup Amd ryzen 7 3800x Ram patriot viper ddr4 3200mhz 2x8gb kit Nvidia rtx 2060 Msi b450m pro-vhd max

Hello guys:) i bought an Alienware 17r4 and i tested the device on bunch of different games one of them is just cause 3 and evrithing seemd perty good but after updating windows and gpu drivers, the ram usage just keeps raising in games without stop and the gpu and cpu over heat in same sittings i used before and the frame rat keeps gonig up and down dramatically if u could hellp me thats would be appreciated

Hello, I have a pc with a: 5820k Asrock x99m Killer 16gb of Adata Z1 Gigabyte 750ti Noctua U14s Raidmax Hybrid 530w This is my primary rendering workstation and I have been having some troubles. I had some problems setting this pc up (error codes, ram problems), but eventually I got all 16gb to show up and everything was great. I recently moved the pc downstairs (I'm moving my desk/work area.) I could not boot the pc up (error code B7 or 67) I removed all DIMMS except for 1 and cleared CMOS. I was able to get into Windows (10, 10240), but when I tried to open Chrome, the entire pc froze, audio stopped, and i could not move the mouse (I was at 100% stock speeds too). I do not know if it would have ever gotten to BSOD, I reset it immediately. When I got into the the BIOS, it only recognized 8gb of ram. I got back into Windows and it crashed one more time. And again, only 8gb of ram. I removed two DIMMS (the ones far from the i/o and it would not boot. Something is wrong with the two slots next to the i/o, the have always worked in the past. If it hangs up, I can't boot into the os (error 67/b7) and I have to switch to the 2nd BIOS on the board, boot, and switch back again. It's infuriating. This is extremely frustrating, the crashing and ram issues. I am on my 3rd boot into Windows after crashes and it hasn't crashed yet. This is my work pc and I want to fix it so I can get back to work. It hangs up and crashes all the time gives me error code 67/b7 and refuses to boot. Going in cycles. I always have to reset everything. It's such a hassle, this Mobo, please help! I can barely get to the OS 5/6 times it crashes, I've lost the ability to reset CMOS using the i/o button. SO MUCH IS WRONG! Thank you so much for any help you can give. - a friend in need

So in my last post I had an HP machine that was using 7.70GB of 10GB in Windows 8. Well I recently upgraded to a Gigabyte GA-970A-D3P. The first time that I got the mother board, it was a bad board. USB ports weren't working half of the time, and then it would randomly restart. I sent the board in for RMA, and I got a new one. But now I installed everything correctly, and My PC is only using 3.97GB of the 10GB that I have installed. Here are some screenshots. Built a new rig couple of weeks ago os: windows 8 64 ram:16 gb/ four 4gb ram kingston sticks/ KHX2400C11D3/4GX motherboard: asus x79 sabertooth cpu: 4930k i7 intel gpu: 780ti reference card/ asus psu watage: 1000w ssd: samgsung 750gb At first only 3 sticks were detected, so to troubleshoot I turned my machine off and unplugged it and swapped the stick it was not detecting with one next to it. After swapping booth sticks, both of them were not being detected. So I swapped them again to its original position and still both are undetected.
