Budget Racing Sims It's the title but to make this for something that people can look for in the future I wanted to make this more professional and with some goals! I am assuming price budgets are for NEW items. Let's set some price budgets: Steering Wheels: Bare minimum budget - (Wheel Only) 100-150 USD: Premium Wheel - (Can include pedals bundled.) 200-300 USD: High End Wheel - 300-700 USD: Stand Alone Pedals: I'm assuming that if you are looking for pedals then you probably already have a decent wheel as most budget setups come with pedals already. Generic stand alone tri-pedal setup - (Clutch, Gas, Break) 100-150 USD: Premium weighted pedals - 200-300 USD: High end electronically haptic adjustable pedals - 400-800 USD: Shifter & Handbrake: Here's where we get tokyo drifting bois, Lets hit mount akina with our AE86's Generic shifter - 60-150 USD: Premium Shifter - 150-300 USD: Generic Handbrake - 60-150 USD: Premium Handbrake - 150-300 USD: If you guys have some recommendations on rigs for people to mount them as well toss those in too! If you guys can fit VR into the budget you wouldn't regret it! There are decently affordable and well performing Windows Mixed Reality headsets out there that can add so much to the experience. I cant wait to see what the community recommends as I will probably be splurging sometime soon on some hardware due to me just recently purchasing a 1990 Mazda Miata and wanting to turn it into a track/drift car! But first comes the practice on the simulators first.... Asseto Corsa anyone?

EDIT: I think it's time to try something new, so I'm open to different game genres. Hello everyone. I've been playing racing games my whole life basically. I went through the entire NFS saga, from "The Need for Speed" to "Heat" (including Shift), Gran Turismo, Forza, The Crew, Colin McRae/Dirt, Grid, FlatOut, Project Cars, Assetto Corsa, Wreckfest, Driver, Destruction Derby, Midnight Club, CarX Drift and a lot more. I went out of ideas. Can anybody help me find a good racing game? I pretty much got bored of playing all of these titles already. Currently I only own a gaming PC. So, any ideas?

Not to take a piss on python , i actually like the languagee , especially the development speed you get with it. but... only in python are things that are an order of magnitude faster in other languages actually much much slower: Branching logic vs Branchless Logic: import random from time import perf_counter_ns,sleep testnrs = [random.randrange(0,5,1) for _ in range(2**20)] def branch(nr,idx,result): if nr < 1 : result|=int((str(abs(result))*9)[1:3]) elif nr == 1: result|=idx elif nr == 2: result|= 2*int(str(result)[0]) elif nr == 3 : result|=3*idx elif nr >= 4 : result|= nr*int(str(idx)[-1]) return result def nobranch(nr,idx,result): result|= (((int((str(abs(result))*9)[1:3])) * (nr < 1)) + ( (idx)*(nr==1)) + ( (2*int(str(result)[0])*(nr==2))) +( ((3*idx)*(nr==3)))+ ( (nr*int(str(idx)[-1])*(nr>=4)))) return result subtot1=0 ;start1=perf_counter_ns() for idx,nr in enumerate(testnrs): subtot1=branch(nr,idx,subtot1) time1=(perf_counter_ns()-start1)*10**-9 sleep(2) subtot2=0 ; start2=perf_counter_ns() for idx,nr in enumerate(testnrs): subtot2=nobranch(nr,idx,subtot2) time2=(perf_counter_ns()-start2)*10**-9 print(subtot1,'\t\ttime:\t\t',time1) print(subtot2,'\t\ttime:\t\t',time2) result: 4194303 : time: 3.047605361 4194303 : time: 9.314754315

After never before considering the idea, I've decided to get into (watching) esports. The thing is that there's plenty of stuff for CS:GO and LoL and such. I don't care much for these, to be honest. I would rather watch competitive car sim racing, because that's more up my street. Where can I get info on live races and where can I watch them?

I am looking to buy a racing wheel for my pc for around $500 Canadian. I want clutch, and force feed back. There is some option I found Logitech G29 and G920. I think they are the same just one for x box one for PS4. Thrustmaster TMX pro, T150 pro, T300 and TX. The major difference between the two brands are the force feed back. Logitech is gear drive and thrustmaster is belt drive, which force feed back is better? I also read some reviews online, I found they are mostly objective. Is there a clear winner here? I will appreciate any advice.

Source: http://blog.codemasters.com/dirt/01/announcing-dirt-4/ As a long-time lover of DiRT Rally and racing games in general, this has me very excited. It looks like a return to the DiRT 3-esque racing mixed with the realism and simulation of Rally. What do you think?

This has been happening for a while now and its been really annoying as Microsoft support have not helped at all. Apparently the issue is that the authentication server thinks that my copy is illegitimate and that I have to wait for Microsoft to fix it I'm just wondering of this is the case. Which is why I came here as I might get a meaningful answer rather than "we cannot help you". The image I attached is as far as i get before the game closes and puts me back to desktop this started happening after I restarted the game to change some graphics settings. I have updated my drivers and windows, disabled anti-virus I have even tried a system restore and no luck these are all the troubleshooting steps I have done.

Chances are at some point, racing games are going to want the new Amazon series featuring Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond; The Grand Tour. Microsoft have famously had the Official Top Gear track for a few years now, but my guess is they won't cross the streams. So what do you think? Polophony Digital have had the top gear track previously, but I believe their contract ended when it appeared in Forza. Then of course, you have Indie tiltes like Project Cars and Asseto Corsa. There could always be new games not yet announced bidding for the rights. Of of course there always a curveball. Amazon may not want to share the rights. Having recently started up their own gaming studio, it's possible a racing game with their AAA driving show tied in would be a key selling point, so what do you guys think? Personally I feel like Amazon won't share. Update: Official Support only, business partnership with Amazon. No Mods, that's cheating. Lol

So I got a g920 today (G27 stopped working RMA). And I plugged it into my PC to start playing Forza Horizon 3 with a steering wheel finally. The only problem is that whenever I start the game, the steering wheel starts spazzing out. Its really weird and annoying and I have no idea why it does it. It is completely brand new. I have attached a video of what it does. It does it no matter what I do, plug it in before or after I launch the game, unplug it after i am in a car and plug it back in, etc. Still does the exact same thing. It is important to note that it does still work, i can still drive and accelerate, brake, etc. Just does the spazzing thing. Video.MOV

So this is probably a question asked a number of times, but as someone who has glasses and not a massive amount of room, is getting an Oculus Rift worth it? I've been sitting on the fence on updating my monitor to a 4K 27 inch display, but then realised that perhaps getting a Rift headset would do me better! I've not got a massive amount of room, but I've seen that the Rift has really small and nifty sensors, are they able to detect movement if they are simply placed on the desk in front of you? And in terms of the headset, for those with glasses, is it comfortable? Or did you find yourself needing to adapt without them? I do a lot of racing games mostly, so doesn't require much movement. Thanks guys

Hey I started to become interested in racing games, i bought a cheap Logitech Driving Force GT (i don't have it already, it's coming in 2 days) and I downloaded Richard Burns Rally, I only installed patch 1.01 and 1.02, I used a controller and I have to say it's amazing, can't wait to play it using the steering wheel. Looking at some forums a read that many people have installed a czech plugin, ngp cars, and many things, it's kind of confusing, but how would this affect the physics or simulation grade? I'm interested. Do you think I should play as I already have it or is it a must to install plugins? If so, Could you guide me on that? It seems a bit difficult and I don't know where to start. Thanks and I hope there are many people playing this

Title pretty much explains it all. I've been playing racing sims and other driving simulators for a few years with just a controller, and I'm ready to purchase a racing wheel to improve my experience. I know very little about racing wheels, other than Logitech's G27 and G29 wheels. I know that thrust master makes good wheels, but I'm not sure which ones would be recommended for me. The generous amount of buttons that come on the G29 really appeals to me, and pedals with a clutch are a must. A stick shift isn't really all that important to me, as I plan on just using the paddle shifters on the wheel in conjunction with the clutch. I'm looking for something in the price range of the G29 ($275 USD), but obviously cheaper is better. I'll be using it to play Project Cars, Dirt Rally, ETS2, ATS2, and others as I expand my library.

Whats up I've got a logitech G27 and in preparation of Forza 7 and (PC2) I need a stand for the wheel, pedals, shifter What do you all recommend?

So I'm in the process of buying parts for my new pc, and one of the parts I've left out so far is the GPU. Should I get a new 1070, 1080, or reuse the 970 i popped into my prebuilt 2 years ago? I'm looking to do some VR sim racing in the future. Some helpful input would be greatly appreciated

Hi all, I am looking to upgrade my machine or even go brand new. Below is my current spec: https://i.gyazo.com/0c2aa34a6701817017bcc1388c636a05.png My budget is around £1000. I am a Sim Racer and gamer in general so that will be my main operation. I do small graphics and video work but primarily gaming and Sim Racing. I have never Overclocked before, there do not know if that would be an option? What would people recommend for this type of setup? Many thanks

Hello! Just got myself 3x 1080p 60hz displays for my simrig. But im having trubble getting them all to work at once. No matter what connection i use (Dvi, Hdmi, Dp) the last screen connected to the gpu(1070 gtx) shows it has signal, but goes into power saving mode and blackscreens/turns off/go's to sleep. Are there any settings i might have overlooked that need to be enabled to get the last screen working? * Drivers are up to date * Screen Sleep mode is disabled in Power settings

So I've owned this Galaxy S7 for a few weeks now & about all I've done with it is make/receive calls, take lots of notes & sent two texts. I know it's capable of gaming but have no clue which I should try. I like racing, action & adventure but more importantly than those I like something else even more, safety. So how do I go about determining which free android games or hell even other apps are free of malware? Are the ratings a clear enough example of that? E.G: 1M downloads, 4 stars VS 100K downloads, 5 Stars. I only have 2GB of data on Verizon plan but house Wifi is Unlimited yet only 6.5Mbps download, still would prefer a game who's content is mostly offline. Thanks in advance for your input, gonna need something to do for the next day or two while I run Driver Verifier lol. *Edit: Didn't know Driver Verifier ran in background, but I'm still interested in your suggestions on Android Games.

I am trying to build my own drone, I know it probably won't work but I want to try. Im going to use http://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-6-in-x-18-in-16-Gauge-Plain-Steel-Sheet-Metal-801467/204225705 and make my own frame and will use https://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=1218720&gclid=CjwKEAiA48fDBRDJ24_imejhwUkSJAAr0M5kQuX1a7vOrsO6A_dugE5tSscxbfA9Qg8vu9woHPRxrBoC_gfw_wcB&is=REG&ap=y&m=Y&c3api=1876%2C91438732682%2C&Q=&A=details and http://www.ebay.com/itm/4pcs-DFD-F183-F182-JJRC-H8C-H12C-Electric-Motor-A-B-Quad-Copter-Drone-Spare-Part-/191926849039 for the motors. I have a anker 5,200 mAh power bank but I think its to heavy for the drone. Does anyone have any sugestions on better parts? Im trying to stay UNDER $200 at the most! Hope someone can help me
