So I set my CPU ratio to 38 in my new msi x570 tomahawk motherboard. Everything seems fine abd it shows up in task manager's base speed. But in game, it never boosts to that speed. Then I went to ryzen master, changed the peak speed tp 3800 as well (it's originally 3100MHz at the 'current' profile). Reboot. When I open ryzen master it shows the correct new peak speed of 3800MHz. I open up a game (doesn't matter what game: league, assassin's creed, CoD). The core speed immediately drops from 3800MHz to ~3100MHz (as shown in CPU-Z). Andin microsoft flight sim the cpu never goes above 3.1 GHz (as shown in second figure). I don't know why this is happening, please help!! Thank you! P.S. NOT A TEMPERATURE ISSUE, I have a noctua fan that's keeping it way below 50C and I literally just booted up the PC. I have a R7 1700 with a x570 msi tomahawk btw.

Hi I'm new here and I need your help. I got an Asus Crosshair vi Hero, along with my R7 1700 non X. For cooling I use my trusty Noctua NH-D15. Problem is that in the BIOS my CPU temps are displayed differently than in Aida64, Ryzen Master and Asus AI suite by some really strange differences, BIOS: 20°C Aida64: 43°C Ryzen Master: 13-15°C AI Suite: 14°C Along that Ryzen Master and AI Suite also report wrong clockspeeds, since in the BIOS I've set them to 3000MHz Ryzen Master: 3200MHz AI Suite: 3200MHz CPU Z: 3200Mhz Windows: 3000MHZ Need Help Very Thanks

Hi, I was just wondering if there's anything wrong with my system. In CPU-Z the core voltage shows up as .616v even though in the BIOS I put 1.2125v. Even in AIDA64 when stress testing the voltage is around .600 to .640. It's stable right now at 3.75 GHz. Is there anything wrong with my system? Here's a picture

to make a long story short I have a really bad computer and have been planning to upgrade to a really good streaming/gaming pc. I finally have saved enough to buy all my parts I got the r7 1700. What im wondering is since I will be using the stock cooler should I change the thermal paste from the stock stuff to artic silver 5 that I have from fixing a different computer. Will there be a large advantage? I do plan to overclock it to a nice 3.6ghz ( yes I know it can do higher but Its a stock cooler and I want to keep it nice and in spec since I wont upgrade for awhile ) which I know from bitwit it can handle. soooooooooooo anyone have the r7 any thoughts on this? The amount I should use? uncooked vs cooked grain of rice vs dime worth? I plan to change the thermal paste probably after 2-3 years and then on the 4-5th year decide if i need to upgrade ( yes I will be keeping it that long) any idea on how fast it will dry out and become less conductive?sorry for the run on words just want to do everything nice since this is my first PERSONAL build. Thanks have a great day.

I'm making a new build for gaming and game development. Right now i'm looking into the i7-7700k or the r7 1700. The r7 1700 seemes better for game development, and can be overclocked to get similar performance to a 1700x or 1800x. While the i7-7700k gets better gaming preformance. I was wondering which one everyone would reccomend, and thanks for the help.

So with my ryzen 1700 on stock frequencies I'm getting really high voltages varying between 1.4 and 1.8 volts (In cpu-Z and hwmonitor). The funny thing is that in the BIOS it's stable I only noticed this when I tried overclocking today I set my voltage to +.102 in my gigabyte b350 gaming 3 bios and realized that the voltage were a consistant 1.8 I ran cinabench stable with that overclock but apparently my voltages are high but then in the bios they are 1.302 (where it should be)? Am I in serious danger? I already have been running this build for 1 week already soooo HELP!!!!! This is the random spikes to 1.8 on stock frequencies and it drops back down to this voltage

I do light production work every once in a while, however i stream youtube or have plex app on constantly while gaming. Is the R7 1700 worth the additional $100?

Hello Guys I´d like to ask you if i should buy an R7 1700 or an R7 1700X. I heard that you could push the performance of an 1700 to 1800X levels, but i´m a little sceptical if the 1700X isn´t a better choice for Overclocking. The CPU will be used for Video/Photo editing with Adobe Programms, 3D stuff with Blender and some Gaming. As Motherboard i´m planing to use a MSI x370 Krait Gaming, as CPU Cooler a Seidon 120v v2 or a dark rock 3, A gtx970 as gpu and 16gb of 3200mhz vengange ram I´m looking forward to reading your oppinions about this (sry if all the words are writen wrong, i´m german)

So pretty simple: I wanted to change my i5 to an i7 due to several reasons. Mostly that I run games along side with other apps in the background and thus need a little more oomph. Thus I wanted an i7 for the extra threads (x99 too expensive and not itx friendly). Now with Ryzen I am looking at getting one of the CPUs with a higher core count. r My question is what you guys are thinking about my plan: I definitely want to get a b350 motherboard of the itx variety. 1) get an R7 1700 2) get an R5 1600 I am really wondering whether or not the extra 100€ are worth it for "just" two more cores. Would you wait and save a bit more more for the "better" CPU?

My friend has 4pcs 8GB DDR4 2666MHz Corsair Dominator plats on a 6600k and plans to upgrade to a R7 1700. Will the RAM sticks still run at their 2666MHz speed on a MSI B350 Tomahawk motherboard?

First let me say hi to everyone on here! Long time lurker, but first ever post here. I'm looking into upgrading my current PC. My motherboard is starting to work against me. Ethernet port not always working or stops working, usb ports same story. Now i have been searching and reading about what i could upgrade to. My current system is mostly used to game on (BF1, RS Siege, Arma 3,...). Current resolution is 1920x1080 but i plan on going higher in the near future. I have already noticed that in some games my cpu (pretty much always running 100%) is causing FPS to dip really low, that's the reason i'm skipping i5's. What i also want to do is record and render in 1080p (Software undecided so far). And some graphical work. But its main purpose is games Current Specs: GPU: Asus Strix GTX 1070 Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V LE PLUS RAM: Kingston HyperX Savage 16GB (2x8) 1600Mhz CPU: Intel i5 3570k 4.4Ghz CPU cooler: Evo 212 OS: Windows 10 Case: Cooler Master Storm Enforcer Current upgrades i'm looking into Option 1: CPU: Intel i7 7700k Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix Z270F RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8) DDR4 3200Mhz Current price: EUR 671,73 Option 2: CPU: Ryzen 7 1700 Motherboard: Asus Prime b350-Plus RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8) DDR4 3000Mhz Current price: EUR 584,51 Option 3: Wait for Ryzen r5 1600x Let me thank you in advance for all the info and help i'll be getting.

Probably the best deal I have seen on an r7 1700 and x370 motherboard combo so far. The initial price is $438 usd, but when you put it in your cart and go to checkout it gives you an instant 50 usd discount bringing the total to 388 usd before tax. It is sold by amazon and comes with free 1 day shipping too. Hi guys!I need to collect some opinions about what plataform should I buy.Essentially the computer I need is for games at 1080p with 144hz monitor and streaming.I need it now because I sold my tower. I still have a gtx msi 1080, disks and peripherals.I am in doubt on the following CPU and MOBO configurations.AMDR5 1600MSI B350 Krait Gaming (they say it's the one of the best b350 for oc)Gskill ripjaws V 2800 cl15(R5 1600 lets me save some money on the processor and invest it in a better mobo, better box and better source)R7 1700MSI b350 gaming pro (which essentially equals the b350 tomahawk with a different colorscheme)Gskill ripjaws V 2800 cl15INTELI7 7700kMsi z170A PC MATEGskill ripjaws V 2800 cl15Doubts and concerns:Doubt - r5 1600 vs i7 1700 will the difference in streaming be so great, great enough to justify the investment, since for gaming they are equal expecially when overclocked?Concern - i7 7700k and platform - For the processor, I know it is the best processor for gaming, however I love to overclock but I do not feel comfortable in deliding a NEW 350€ processor. As for the motherboard, it's a z170 but "nhec" if it reaches 4.8ghz it would be a luck ...As for the INTEL platform in general, it is an "end-of-life" platform that will not allow future upgrades. As for the AMD platform, it's a new platform that will last for a few years, which will certainly allow me to upgrade, if I can, at least one time the CPU.I can't really decide... Need your help... The prices on the plataforms I've shown are equal in Portugal

I recently upgraded to an AMD Ryzen 7 1700 cpu. I am running this on an Asus ROG Strix b350-f Gaming mobo with an AMD Asus Strix RX 480 8GB. After installation I have been stuck with issue after issue. I cannot get my games to run correctly, and sometimes one game will run fine and the other just keeps crashing. I don't know whats going on. I've unplugged and plugged back in all my cables, reinstalled all drivers and windows a couple times now, and everything is up to date. I have no idea what to do and neither does my friend who is big into computers as well. There's no hardware failures detected and I'm running stock speeds on my CPU with my RAM (2 x 4GB Corsair Vengeance LPX) having been both overclocked and at stock speeds. Also, Radeon settings is saying I have a freesync monitor when I know I do not. If anyone has any ideas please help because I am at a total loss. Also, this is one of the errors I get when I try to play Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. (I apologize for the picture taken with my phone)

Hello there, I've been overclocking my r7 1700. I got it to 3.7hz on 1.3125V. Everything seems fine, idle temps are about 50 degrees celcius (afaik that' common for ryzen 7), when gaming it'll go up in the high 60's. When I run tests like cinebench it will hit about 75 degrees celcius, when rendering a long video in premiere pro might even go up to 76 at times. I'm using the stock cooler all the way up to 100%. So my question is, is this safe to use? Or will this damage the cpu after a while? Once more: -ryzen 7 1700 -Stock cooler at max -1.3125V -3.7Hz -75 degrees under heavy load Would you guys think this is safe to use? Or would you rather have me lower the OC a bit? Thanks in regards!

I just built a new computer with an Asus Strix b350-f Gaming mobo, 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666Mhz, Ryzen 7 1700, Asus Strix Rx 480 8GB, Corsair RM650x PSU, and an OCZ Trion 150 960GB SSD. Every Game I've tried to run today keeps locking up and crashing, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and it keeps saying there is an issue with my display driver, but I just updated everything to the newest versions. Any idea as to what my problem is?

Hello I have a r7 1700 at 3.4ghz at 1.06875volts the reason im making this thread is to hear what other people have gotten on their ryzen platform to see if I should try and go higher or lower. I always want to go over is it worth it to go up to 3.7ghz if it means im over 1.2volts? (I did a very basic test to see how high I could go) I live in New Mexico ITS HOT and my room tends to heat up quickly at stock (1.2volts) but I have noticed that at my undervolt I notice its more livable. During winter I plan to maybe overclock but to put it simple Is the performance boost from 3.4ghz to 3.7-3.8ghz worth 30 bucks for a hyper 212 evo? Yes I would need one I dont know if I seated the cpu cooler bad or what but even at this under volt i can hit 69 c. (note more of a conversational topic throw in your words even if its not fully about the topic.)

Should I buy a used 970 $150-165 or a new 1050 ti. I am planning on upgrading in the winter. I have an r7 1700 and a Asus - ROG SWIFT PG248Q 24.0" 1920x1080 180Hz Monitor. I will be upgrading to a gtx 1070 at some point. Thanks, Helix

So i have overclocked my ryzen 7 1700 to 3,8ghz with 1,3volt. This seems to be the most stable. When i ran aida64 it ran all well and smoothly until about 45min into the stress-test, when it shut down and the error message "hardware failure detected" pops up. I am scared, should i be scared? What should i do? More voltage? Less frequency? Or is it stable?

Hey LTT Community, I need your help to decide for a new platform, budget is around 600-800€ (pretty much the same in $). Why? Cause my i5 4690k is bottlenecking my GTX 1070 in several games like Battlefield 1 for example. Also even in League of Legends I sometimes notice micro stutter. What I own currently: BenQ ZOWIE XL2411 1080p / 144Hz Monitor Fractal Design Define r5 (2x 140mm front in, 1x 120mm back in, Silent Loop 240 top out) AsRock Z87M Extreme4 i5 4690k @4.2 GHz / 1.21V be quiet! Silent Loop 240mm AIO GTX 1070 Gaming X be quiet! Dark Power Pro 550W 80+ Platinum Some Thoughts of me about the 3 Processors: This is one of the Videos that I found to compare the r7 1700 to the i7 7800x: Based on that the i7 7800x would be the better choise as I game much more then do rendering, video editing and such. (Price: r7 - 300€ / i7 - 370€) Sadly I wasn't able to find a single quote in a forum or a Video about how the i7 7800x with it's cache design performs in League of Legends. We know that the i7 7700k is a good bit faster than these two, but less "futureproof". Something I forgot: I would be overclocking the processor as I did so with every processor that I owned to date. My questions to you: What would you choose? (Poll or advise as a response) Someone tested League on Ryzen or i7 7800x, is it stutter free? (cause I read that the Ryzen tends to drop FPS quite hard in big fights, cause LoL only uses 2 Cores) Is a 240mm Rad enough to cool these 3 Processors individually? Im a bit worried about the Intels getting too hot overclocked because of the bad TIM... Thanks for your help
