Budget (including currency): Country: Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi all, I've got a corsair cx 550m psu 80 plus bronze, will it be sufficient for my RTX 3070 on the way and my current Ryzen 5 1600? I run 2 3.5" hdds, one sdd, 16gb 3000mhz memory, no aio's or fancy coolers. thanks for reading, Nick.

Who is better for gaming R5 1600 af (OC) with EVGA RTX 2060 KO ( 85 + 320 ) Or R5 3600 with EVGA GTX 1660 Super (175+240) Or (something by 400 $ ) I'm playing Anno 1800 , Age of empires II DE and Tomb raider (all parts) at 60Hz FHD screen *My motherboard is B450 Tomahawk Max

I am running a ryzen 5 1600 on MSI carbon pro and was able to get a stable enough over clock at 3.8 ghz @ 1.3875 with the wraith spire cooler. I validated with cpu-z, cinebench, and aida64. On aida I ran for 8 hours max temp reaching at around 86-87 degrees. This is a decent enough overclock I believe, however, I do have that bug to try to get to the coveted 4.0 ghz, which, I would need an after market cooler for since anything above 1.4 is going to make my temps climb above 90 degrees. Realistically though are those 200 ghz worth the purchase of an aftermarket cooler and the voltage through my cpu? Will i see some real world benefit?

Due to Linus's most recent video I'm now confused about what RAM & CPU I'll get for my new first build. I had previously picked out an R5 1500X & 2x8GB DDR4 3200 with 14 latency, prices of those kits ranging from $155-$187. Now I'm wondering if I should just go with 2133Mhz instead & get a better CPU such as a 1600. 2 more cores won't really benefit me either though for what I do, RuneScape, Light Video Editing, Multitasking (8 or less FireFox Tabs while gaming & video editing). So please everyone help me decided lol, I know in the video I'll link below he specifically compared 2133 to 3600 so I'm unsure if his CPU upgrading advice still applies to 3200. I want this PC to be the best it can be for the price but I also know that Ryzen does favor higher frequency RAM. So I'm worried that by going for more cores vs frequency I might see a bigger overall performance defecate regarding what I do. Unfortunately I have no idea if the things I do is even dramatically effected by RAM speed, for video editing I use OBS Studio & Hitfilm 4 Express. On a final note, I do prefer reliability over speed so let that be a factor in advising me on what to go with. For reference sake, let's just say my CPU & RAM budget is $365.00 or less.

I do light production work every once in a while, however i stream youtube or have plex app on constantly while gaming. Is the R7 1700 worth the additional $100?

So I managed to get a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU to 3.7ghz on the stock cooler @1.3v (1.304v under load, 1.2875v idle) I stress tested it for 24 hours, and got 73C as the max temp, so it's looking like I might have a little more headroom, but i'm fine with the 3.7ghz, it matches the 3.7ghz I got with my old i5-4590 (BCLK overclocked that thing to 4.1ghz!) Here are my questions: -Did I get a good quality chip? -Has anyone gotten this speed at lower voltages, and is stable? -At what temps is it dangerous to run a Ryzen CPU, I assume anything above 79C is too hot for continued use? -What are your cinebench R.15 scores at your own personal overclocks?

So pretty simple: I wanted to change my i5 to an i7 due to several reasons. Mostly that I run games along side with other apps in the background and thus need a little more oomph. Thus I wanted an i7 for the extra threads (x99 too expensive and not itx friendly). Now with Ryzen I am looking at getting one of the CPUs with a higher core count. r My question is what you guys are thinking about my plan: I definitely want to get a b350 motherboard of the itx variety. 1) get an R7 1700 2) get an R5 1600 I am really wondering whether or not the extra 100€ are worth it for "just" two more cores. Would you wait and save a bit more more for the "better" CPU?

Hello guys, Just a few questions I'm planning to build my first PC, but i have some trouble with choosing a CPU. I have two options: 7700K w/ Maximus IX Hero or 6800K w/ X99 Strix. It's for schoolwork, video-editing and gaming. This is the parts list: Intel Core i7 7700K / Intel Core i7 6800K ASUS ROG MAXIMUS IX HERO / ASUS ROG X99 STRIX ASUS ROG STRIX RX480 O8G G.Skill Trident Z RGB F4-3000C16D-16GTZR NZXT KRAKEN X62 / Cryorig R1 Universal Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX TG / be quiet! Dark base Pro 900 Corsair RM750x Western Digital Blue SSD Western Digital Blue WD10EZEX So the question is: What CPU / Chipset do you recommend, What cooler do you recommend and What case do you recommend?

Hi guys!I need to collect some opinions about what plataform should I buy.Essentially the computer I need is for games at 1080p with 144hz monitor and streaming.I need it now because I sold my tower. I still have a gtx msi 1080, disks and peripherals.I am in doubt on the following CPU and MOBO configurations.AMDR5 1600MSI B350 Krait Gaming (they say it's the one of the best b350 for oc)Gskill ripjaws V 2800 cl15(R5 1600 lets me save some money on the processor and invest it in a better mobo, better box and better source)R7 1700MSI b350 gaming pro (which essentially equals the b350 tomahawk with a different colorscheme)Gskill ripjaws V 2800 cl15INTELI7 7700kMsi z170A PC MATEGskill ripjaws V 2800 cl15Doubts and concerns:Doubt - r5 1600 vs i7 1700 will the difference in streaming be so great, great enough to justify the investment, since for gaming they are equal expecially when overclocked?Concern - i7 7700k and platform - For the processor, I know it is the best processor for gaming, however I love to overclock but I do not feel comfortable in deliding a NEW 350€ processor. As for the motherboard, it's a z170 but "nhec" if it reaches 4.8ghz it would be a luck ...As for the INTEL platform in general, it is an "end-of-life" platform that will not allow future upgrades. As for the AMD platform, it's a new platform that will last for a few years, which will certainly allow me to upgrade, if I can, at least one time the CPU.I can't really decide... Need your help... The prices on the plataforms I've shown are equal in Portugal

Hi guys, Look i know there probs a tone of this already, but id like to find out in regards to my own planned build. I plan on building a PC for mainly gaming use and maybe the occasional use for video rendering and stuff. But i dont really do any video stuff but would want to make sure that my cpu would still be okay for it if i ever did start doing that sort of stuff. (if ya know wat i mean) . I plan on using a GTX 1070. So it comes down to my question should i get and Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel i7-7700K? Any thoughts be appreciated. Cheers. Update* dont really intend on overclocking my cpu , not that wont but i just plan on playing fresh from the box .

Hello guys, My rig- Ryzen 5 1600 Motherboard-Asus B350 prime m-a Ram- Hyperx fury 8gb stick 2666 frequency GPU- Galax gtx 710 2gb HDD- WD 1 TB SMPS- Circle 500 Watts Now the first run I tried booting the system it took me very long time to setup win 10 on my system around 2 hours, that is because of lagging at a particular percentage while setting up OS win 10....I just ignored that prob...after few days system started restarting inbetween, while browsing and while listening to music on YouTube my sound used to crack and always had to reinstalled my sound drivers, but the problem continued, it also restarted in bios and also the mouse lagging problem in bios itself. So this time I thought I need to show did to my vendor, he checked the system and said that there is a heating issue in motherboard so it's causing problems, I approached the Asus service centre and they got me the motherboard repaired in weeks time, but now when I tested the system again there was no display , so everyone got confused and then I again applied for a RMA for motherboard, now again in a week's time I got a replaced motherboard from Asus, what shocked me was after testing the system it didn't showed up with a display again, checked the connection, VGA port was connected to the graphics card, tried changing the graphics card, a new one with ddr5 memory, checked with a 2133 Samsung 4 GB stick ram but again NO DISPLAY, Asus guys came up with the solution that the processor ryzen R5 1600 is a faulty product, so now everyone is like, only thing left is the processor and Now I have applied for a replacement of processor and all hopes with a good boot with a display. This everything has cost me alot of time and money, no satisfactory answers from anyone, now the only hope are from u guys help me plzzzzzzzzzzzz

So ive had my system for about 2 days now and i have had some time to get drivers and all of that loaded up but there seems to be a problem after the latest motherboard flash i performed for reference the system is R5 1600 asus x370 prime 16gb 3000 mhz ram (2933) gtx 1060 6gb 250 gb 960 evo 2tb barracuda 650 w evga psu So if i leave the cpu clock by itself then the cpu runs fine at a boost of about 3.4 ghz which is all find and dandy, then if i try and overclock (in bios) then it starts going a little wonky running the cpu at the set voltage i had for it but having the clock at about 1540 mhz or so. which... is annoying and when i tried using the ryzen master software there was nothing i could do.. apparently the cpu was actually running at 1.0 volts when i had set it in bios to 1.35 for an overclock of 3.9 (ran stable before i installed the 0805 bios update (doing this also allowed me to run my ram at more than 2666 mhz without the system shutting off immediately so this is all the information i have right now... Cpuz is also showing that the cpu is running with the 1.35 volts i had set in bios. And when i tried running the ryzen master software after i had an overclock enabled ( after the bios update) the whole system would crash... ive been dealing with this now for several hours to no avail... should i just install a slightly older bios update and hope it works? (Before this i had 0503 or something like that (it was the stock bios on the board) with which i got the stable 3.9 ghz overclock i had originally

So currently I own an FX8350 on the stock cooler, but I want to replace it because it's just loud af. But I plan to upgrade to the R5 1600 which I plan to overclock. The air cooler needs to be under 120mm (I have the corsair air240 case) Is there any low profile air coolers that are worth buying that I can overclock when I get the 1600, or do I buy an aIO 240mm instead of a low profile cooler?

Sorta noob here, So I tried overclocking my Ryzen 5 1600 to 3.9ghz, seeing that so many had a success with it, i decided to go for it as well. When i exited my BIOS after changing it, my computer shut down and started doin the checkup and stuff saying "Automatic repair" and it brought me to the windows menu with automatic repair. Knowing that this happened after i overclocked my 1600 to 3.9, i underclocked it back to its stock 3.2ghz. No luck with that and now im in a boot loop with the windows repair menu. Any help please! Motherboard: MSI b350 Tomohawk CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 (@ i dont f**kn know anymore) GPU: RX 580 RAM: DDR4 ram (2x4gb) @2666

So I want to build my first gaming pc, I want to use this pc for mostly gaming so I've checked a lot of benchmarks and I've seen that Intel cpu's perform a little better in games. I am not planning to overclock since I don't feel the need for it that much and I don't have any experience with overclocking. So I think a i5 8400 would suit me better. I would like to pair it with a 6GB 1060 and 16GB of DDR4 ram. I would like to know which motherboard I should get for my potential build and wheter a 650 Watt power supply is enough. Any other suggestions are welcome. I live in the Netherlands so prices may vary.

Can amd ryzen5 1600 and gtx 1060 6gb oc hit 500fps on minecraft?

Ok i have a couple of question: specs: CPU - r5 1600 motherboard - MSI b350 Tomahawk RAM- ddr4 vengeance lpx 3200 Questions: 1- If i set my ram to 3200Mhz and 16-18-18-18-36 (the lowest I can get it), I can only get my cpu to about 3.6 ghz, but if I set my ram to 2933Mhz and 14-16-16-16-34 I can get my cpu to 3.7Ghz and I don't know whats more worth ? 2- After the overclock to my cpu lets say the 3.7GHz one, if I enable "AMD cool and quiet" feature the cpu never actually goes to the full 3.7 ghz it stays about 3.62Gz, so is there any way to either set manually the curve of frequency/load or to do something that makes this go to max frequency when in full load or do I have to disable it? 3-And my final question is, when overclocking sometimes the overclock doesn't stick it just goes back to default values but when I go to UEFI its there and I don't know why, its not because im trying a value too high because I tried with 3.3Ghz and still sometimes it doesn't stick someone has any clue as to why? EDIT: I forgot to say this but my cpu voltage is 1.3 and I would like it to stay there thats why im only going for a small overclock as this is my first overclock and im not mentally ready to go further EDIT 2: The rig is for gamming and a bit of 3d rendering in blender Thanks

Which is the best and most reliable motherboard in the $80-100 price range to use with an r5 1600? Any RAM compatibility issues/lack thereof with any specific brands? It must also be red and black (Cliche I know but it's a build for my friend and he loves that colour scheme) Some I've looked at already are https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B350-TOMAHAWK.html https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B350-GAMING-PLUS.html#productFeature-section http://www.gigabyte.us/Motherboard/GA-AB350-Gaming-3-rev-10#kf Any thoughts? Thanks

Hello, My current MSI B350 PC MATE is broken and I after some research and threads here it turns out MSI boards are not the most stable ones. So I was thinking if I should request money return or just a replacement. My budget is a max of 110€. Hello, fellow PC enthusiasts. How are you doing? Fine? Well I'm doing terribly, and it's my 3rd time... So a couple weeks ago i built a PC with the following parts: Ryzen R5 1600 2x8GB crucial Ballistix Sport LT 2400 GTX1060 6GB KFA2 OC ASUS PRIME B350 PLUS EVGA 500BQ When i first built it, it wouldn't post so i RMA'd the motherboard and the replacement worked. Then i scratched the motherboard (while it was mining ethereum. Stupid, i know) and it fried. Now i have a MSI B350 PC MATE, and until today it's been working splendidly. Now the problem goes like this: My brother left Minecraft open this morning when we went out (irrelevant but whatever), and when we got back the screen was black (which it shouldn't, because I've made it so that it never sleeps or turns monitor off). I thought fsr it had gone to sleep so I pressed enter spacebar mouse clicks and more, but no response. Then i turned it off, and when i turned it on, there was no display. I waited a bit and the VGA DEBUG LED came on, and it stays on. A couple seconds later the monitor responded, and a underscore (_) showed up, then disappeared. And that's all. I've tried many things like cmos reset gpu reseat different pcie slot 1 stick of ram disconnected hdds and more, but no response. Thanks in advance and sorry for long post.

Simple and to the point: Is a Seasonic S12 520W ii enough for a Ryzen 5 1600 + Zotac AMP! GTX 1080? I'll also have one SSD and a 3 TB hard drive. Thanks

My friend has asked me to help him build a PC that can run Cities: Skylines very well so I hope you can provide guidance. I'm thinking of choosing the AMD R5 1600 and the GTX 1050 ti, however I am worried that the GPU might bottleneck the CPU. Is this build too unbalanced? Is the R5 1600 overkill? Could I get better performance with a similarly priced Intel CPU? I posted on /r/buildapc yesterday so I'll paste what I wrote there: ###Build Help/Ready: **Have you read the sidebar and [rules](http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/wiki/rules)? (Please do)** Affirmative **What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.** My friend wants to play Cities: Skylines and so has decided to buy their first gaming machine. They have asked me for assistance but this is also my first build so I'm quite ignorant. I realise that they are very likely to play other games that are not Cities: Skylines but they are adamant that they are not interested so this build is aimed exclusively at that single game. **If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)** To be able to play Cities: Skylines at 1080p with large cities and lots of mods without the game running too slow and with frame rates above 30fps and ideally with maximum graphics settings. **What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?** About £700 including monitor which I haven't included in this build. **In what country are you purchasing your parts?** UK **Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Picked a relatively high powered CPU as Cities is supposed to be more reliant on the CPU than GPU. Somewhat concerned that the 1050 ti could be a bottleneck. I was considering 16GB ram but decided to go with 8GB as if more is needed then it will be a cheap and easy upgrade. My friend will also need to buy a monitor which take this build up to his ~£700 budget. Thank you for your attention and advice.
