Hi I want to ged rid of all of my Hard drives which I just plug Into my computer and get a more proper solution. I want to pool some Drives in my PC and in the best case be able to access them remotely, while stille being able to use the PC. Therefore I probably won't use virtualisation and NAS operation system for the time being. My current idea is to just use RAID 5 or create a Windows Storage Pool with similar redundancy and then use Windows File sharing. This will probably be fine for most use cases, since I'll mostly use I at home but I won't be able to access my files remote. Do you have an Idea for a solution, that will be not that time consuming to set up and allow me to access my data remotely? Thanks in advance.

I want to buy new ram and was wondering if I should get 32gb or stick with 16gb. I plan on starting some recording for youtube and video editing for my friend as well and was wondering if I should get myself 32gb. A 32gb 3600MHz cl18 kit is 100 usd where I live while that same kit just 16gb is 50 usd. I tought about messing about with some vm-s on linux for privateering some games so would that help in that case as well? Any input is appreciated! I should mention that I do not plan on upgrading my cpu platform for atleast a couple of years. Current specs of pc: Ryzen 5 5600x, rx 6700xt, b550mb with 2 m.2 ssds.

Despite receiving no help, I have managed to fix the windows issue by throwing money at the problem. I found out it was a bad memory stick now I need to fix the corrupted files on my drive. I cannot reset the Drive as those information not backed up to the cloud I need to boot from that thrive. How do I fix a Windows error remotely this is not the specific error that has been repeatedly popping up, but I am too engrossed in city skylines two to restart my PC in route to the drive to find out the same one

I was going to get a pc build by Micro Center because I do not trust myself to build a system, and it was going to be around $2200-2300. But, one of the micro center PowerSpec pcs at basically the same config (only difference is ram speed) is on sale for $1599.99. Its been on sale for a while, and I've been burned from "good deals" in the past. I can seem to find anything wrong with it, but I just want a second option from someone who knows more about specific parts than me. Unfortunately there isn't too much info to go off of because most of the parts aren't list specifically. Parts on the listing: Intel Core i7 13th Gen 13700KF 3.4GHz Processor NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6X G.Skill 32GB DDR5-5600 RAM 2TB Solid State Drive Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 10/100/1000 Network 2.5GbE LAN WiFi 6E 802.11ax Bluetooth 5.1 AIO Liquid ML 240L RGB Cooler I'm pretty sure the AIO is a CoolerMaster brand, and I've heard that's a really cheap AIO, and that 240mm AIOs are not enough for the 13700kf Really, I just to know whether or not this a deal I should take. https://www.microcenter.com/product/665134/G443_Gaming_PC;_Intel_Core_i7_13th_Gen_13700KF_34GHz_Processor;_NVIDIA_GeForce_RTX_4070_12GB_GDDR6X;_GSkill_32GB_DDR5-5600_RAM;_2TB_Solid_State_Drive; The case is ugly but for $700 less...

A short question My external HDD suffered a dog bite, the disc inclosure is not damaged, only the board is and very slightly at the corner. Is it possible to swap it and recover the data? Thanks in advance

I know they have this "proprietary" External GPU connector but it looks a lot like a standard Oculink Connector (the not usb-c part). So i was wondering, if you can just use standard Oculink cables for external GPU support (just using the not usb-c part). Like how it's done with GPD Win Max 2 Or GPD Win Max with the modded Oculink Connector (m.2 to Oculink adapter). I would rather do that then buy thier external GPUs. Info dump: Oculink is an established standard in servers to bring PCI-e lanes via Cable to, for example, Storage backplanes. So basically it's PCI-e 4 via Cable so no need to go thou expensive USB or thunderbolt controllers for external GPU support since it's just PCI-e (ex:Gen 4 4x). So i was just wondering if any1 has experience from using that "proprietary" connector in a different product with Oculink.

So I upgraded to an acually good mechanical keyboard recently from a mass market one. Anyways the one thing I do legitimately miss is the "game mode" option which disabled the windows key. I found this program. WinKill (https://m.majorgeeks.com/files/details/winkill.html) and I have it set as a startup program. It works fine because i can switch it on and off at will from the taskbar. However I was wondering how to possibly get rid of the message windows gives me when i restart my pc. It still runs fine but the .rll file which I need to put in the startup folder or the program wont work, gives a window saying i can't run a rll file because its needed by the OS, Which is fine, doesn't cause any issues to my knowledge and I can just click away on the desktop and it fixes it. But just wondering if there is a fix or if there is a better solution for my windows key needs.

I have a ryzen 7 3700x, 32gb ddr4 3600mhz, and I ordered a 3060 at Canada computers. I'll only be doing 1080p gaming, is this system going to have a bad bottleneck or is it fine?

Hi. I was just wondering if people had experience with this keyboard and what your thoughts on it compared to other keyboards? I am looking for a good 60% keyboard and this one had good reviews, especially for the price.

ScofPanda posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Hi everyone, recently I wanted to create a powerful desktop pc but I can’t start the pc. Here my setup; MSI B550M pro-vdh (non wifi my mistake..) AMD Ryzen 5 5600x RTX 2060 Corsair vengeance LPX 32 gb 3600 Samsung 980 256 geb ssd m.2 Crucial 500 gb ssd MSI mpg a750gf I couldn’t locate the problem… can any of you help? -
Hello, Im an architect by profession. I use modeling and rendering softwares everyday and I am planning to upgrade to an SSD to help with the load times of most of my files and softwares (which are large) My question is, if the softwares (cad, revit, sketchup, lumiom, etc.) are located in the SSD and my save files are located in the HDD (to save space in my SSD) will that defeat the purpose of putting my softwares in the SSD because the HDD has the save filess or not? I hope my question make sense, thank you in advance.

I'd like to know if my PSU would be capable to power my PC while playing games. Originally when I bought my PC, I didnt have a lot of money to put into it, so I had to go for cheaper options. I have an off brand 550W power supply. Will this be able to run an R5 3600 paired with an RTX 2060? I mainly plan on playing Cyberpunk 2077, CoD, GTA V, etc.

should I opt-out for the big boys like the Astro A50? or is it overkill for single-player gaming? what features should I look for? I am a variety gamer, I really don't stick to a genre. for example, I'm playing the ghost of Tsushima, after that demons souls, after that the outer wilds, after that hollow knight, after that watchdogs legion, etc... budget is around 200$, can pay more if its worth it I'm gaming on a ps5 currently.

I asked the eGPU forum a while ago and didn't get any response so i figured y'all would be my next best shot. after opening up my laptop to install 16 GB of ram on a hunk of metal from 2014 i noticed there seemed to be what looked like two WiFi card slots. one was occupied by the currently functioning WiFi card and the other just hanging out without anything plugged in. i assume this second slot was for plugging in a 4g card to connect to cellular in the field (this is a i guess one could say a field laptop, mainly used by companies). since i am trying to make this a usable gaming computer i asked around online but no one seemed to have in depth knowledge of the subject. after some research i found the EXP GDC Beast which can plug into WiFi card slots. and so i turn to you fine people, given the 16GB or ram and Intel Core i5 4300M @ 2.60GHz and retched Intel HD Graphics 4600 (Dell) is an external GPU viable. since i have a second WiFi slot and I'm not looking for 4k 260 or anything (1080 at 60 fps on most games is a dream come true for me) could i make it work? unfortunately i wasn't able to find which kind of WiFi card slot (PCIE or PCIE mini???) it was I don't know if it will work with the Beast. any info what so ever is very much appreciated. also building a full on pc isn't an option for my budget. attached are 4 photos of the insides of the laptop. on the zoomed out photo the second slot is too the top left of the pre existing card https://imgur.com/a/eoqbJ92

Hi, so I’m probably going to buy a power line adaptor as I can’t run Ethernet and the wifi is bad. I just want to know: A. Will they work if they are on different electrical circuits but connected to the same breaker? B. Is there a way to work out how much of the signal will be lost over a distance?

Hey, so I got my 3080 four days ago. There are some issues after I replaced my old 1060 6g with it. First of all, I updated motherboard bios, and its released date is 2018-06-23. I also used DDU to clear old drivers and install the newest which is 456.71. I made sure Windows is up dated as well. Spec: PSU: Super Flower Leadex III 850W 80+ Gold Motherboard: B150M Bazooka (3080 should be able to run fine on this motherboard) CPU: 7700k GPU: MSI RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X 10G OC RAM: 16G 2133mh shorter version of my issues: 3080 running fine while gaming for one day, but GPU is not detected the next day. reinstalled the driver fixed it. The next day GPU is not deteced again, Reinstalled the driver, but PC reboots itself whenever I try to do something. After few reboots, GPU is completely not detected, not even reinstall the driver would fix it. Runs fine after replace it with my old 1060 6g. longer version with a bit more details: Exterme low FPS, around 50 FPS improved compared to 1060 6G, but I asked this question before, and people pointed out my CPU bottlenect my GPU a lot which is understandable. I could play game just fine without any issue besides the low fps, but the next day I woke up, GPU is not detected. To be more clear, My DP cable is directly connected to my GPU. I booted up the PC, and my monitor said "no signal". I had to go to bios, and somehow manage to boot up and log in by using integrated graphics card (I guess?). Device manager says my GPU has error code 43, which is driver issue, so I did what prob everyone would do, reinstall the driver. After that, it works fine. This happened during the first three days. Today, I woke up and GPU is not detected again! I did the same thing as I did before, but a new issue appeared. My PC would reboot whenever I try to do something else, like open Origin, or even just try to use search bar. I was able to log and open GPU-z which states the GPU is 3080, not integrated graphics card for the first few times. After few reboots, my GPU is not detected. I tried reseat the GPU, but didn't help. I just put my 3080 back to its box, and put my 1060 on again, works fine. I am waiting for Zen 3, so I could replace my motherboard and CPU. I don't want to spend money on a new LGA 1150 intel motherboard, and I asked new egg if I my warranty allows me to replace my GPU after 30 days, but no.
