My pc was working just fine. All dandy. Then I put it to sleep for around an hour and when I turned it on again, it didn't post. I checked for the q code but it just keeps jumping and would not stop on any 1 qcode. My config is: 5900x Rtx 3090 FE 16gb gskill trident Corsair Rmx1000 psu asus crosshair 8 hero Mobo I have tried to use 1 ram stick at a time and still the same problem. I really don't know what else to do. I didn't OC it or anything....was just using it normally

Hi everyone, I have some weird problem with my computer. To be short after a year of using it without problems, the pc shut down one day and wont start again. Qcode 97 or b2 shows the mobo and the vga-lamp is on. I have testet multiple things: cmos reset, power off, reseating of parts, other cables, reseating cables, starting without ram, with one stick of ram, upgrading bios, downgrading bios, without gpu, with other gpu etc. Now to the weird part: The computer stopped working, so I swapped the gpu. My old 750Ti works in the machine with another dvi-display. So i thought, that it must be the gpu that is broken. After that i did a sanity check and put in my "broken" gpu and it just worked. I put my computer back together startet multiple benchmarks and gamed for some time and everything worked as intended. Then after 20 more minutes surfing the web I see that the vga-lamp of the motherboard turned on while i was browsing. I minimized the chrome window and the computer shuts down again and wont boot up since. Same qcodes as before. Right now i dont know anymore if the GPU is broken or if it is th CPU. I hope you can help me. Thanks in advance. Spec: AMD Ryzen 9 5950x 32Gb 3600Mhz Ram Asus X570 e Gaming Asus TUF RTX 3090 O24G 750W PSU

I have 5950x on Asus Dark Hero with 128gb gskill 3600 cl18 ram, I went into the bios and I selected EZ tuning to get maximum performance, and I enabled it, the pc restarted but there’s no input in the monitor, and there’s an orange light with qcode 22, I tried safe boot button, and retry button on the motherboard, didn’t work. there’s a clear cmos button at the back, how can I clear the cmos? Should I remove the power cord and click it? Or leave the power cord on? please help

Hi everyone, I think my graphics card is on its way out but there's something else throwing me for a loop. My current build - 9700K Asus Z390 ROG Maximus XI 32 GB Gskill Trident Z RGB Gigabyte Aorus Extreme 1080 TI EVGA G supernova 750W modular PS Various hard drives So I don't know what my bios version is but I updated it a few months back, it should be the most recent or almost recent version. One day I was gaming and the computer just froze, and shut down. When I tried to reboot, it would turn on for 1-2 seconds then turn itself off. Then repeat that process. I had previously water-cooled my GPU from the prior build, long story short I did have a leak during initial pressure test, it got wet, but I let dry for a week. That was 3 years ago and I haven't had an issue until now. Probably unrelated but worth mentioning. Anyway, after seeing it cycle on and off a few times, I turn it off and shut off the power supply as well. Let it sit for a week. Power it back on, same thing. So I remove the GPU, restart, it Posts and brings me to BIOS because I assume because I also cleared the CMOS. Boots fine, runs fine. Okay, figure I'll try with the GPU again, to confirm GPU is done. Re-install, everything runs perfectly. Two days go by, one full day of gaming, web surfing, etc., No issues. I usually restart my PC every few days, otherwise it's asleep. Come down to it this morning, wake it up, tower lights up, everything is good. Peripherals are all off. Power to monitors obviously good, but zero RGB on keyboard and mouse. No peripherals working at all. Restart the PC and now we're back to cycling itself on and off again. On occasion it will boot and seem to post but zero to peripherals. No power to keyboard and mouse and no display signal. My gut says GPU, which would explain no displays, but why would the keyboard and mouse not work either? They're plugged into the MoBo. I'm trying to read the codes that flash on the MoBo display but they flicker insanely quick that it's honestly hard to know what it's actually displaying. Any insight is appreciated. I'm debating about buying another GPU to test but I was already planning on upgrading come the next RTX release. So I'd rather not, but 5 years with one GPU is a win in my books. Thank you!

Hi I recently upgraded my PC by switching from Intel to AMD New Mobo: X570 ROG Crosshair VIII Hero CPU: 3900X I reused the memory from my old config which was 4x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX (CMK32GX4M4B3200C16) @ 3200Mhz In the Intel build I could only get that memory working stable at 3133Mhz, but in the new build it would run at 3200Mhz Some instability/BSOD issues that transferred to the new build and I put it down to the memory as it's the only component that was left to swap. So, as Ryzen likes faster RAM I decided to go for a dual 3600Mhx kit, but I'm not getting anywhere near those numbers. 2x16Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX "Ryzen Tuned" CMK32GX4M2Z3600C18 If I try to select the full 3600MHz the PC hangs with Q-Code 22 and the amber diagnostic LED If I clock it back to 3466Mhz it sticks on qcode 07 The only way it boots up is if I dial it right back to 3200Mhz - which is a waste of £40 as I could have purchased a 3200 kit if that's all these can get. I'm assuming I've done something wrong in the BIOS, so could someone steer me in the right direction so I can get the proper RAM speeds? My settings in BIOS (with mild OC): Ai Overclock Tuner: Manual Memory Frequency DDR4-3200MHz Core Performance Boost: Disabled CPU Core Ratio: 40.00 CPU Core Voltage: Manual CPU Core Voltage Override: 1.15v DRAM Voltage: 1.35v The rest are fan profile changes If I try to force RAM voltage to 1.35v and push beyond 3200Mhz I get a Q-Code: 22 If I try upping it from the stock 1.20v to 1.25v I get Q-code 07 So it doesn't seem happy with any voltage changes ... Any help appreciated

I have an Asus Maximus IX Formula motherboard and it has a Q-code display. I heard from a friend that it's possible to get the display to show CPU temps, do you know how to get it to display the CPU temp after booting into the operating system, for at a glance monitoring? I couldn't find anything in the bios.

Hi guys good day. Im having a bit of trouble making my pc post. I just finished the build specs will be below. Everything is hooked up correctly as far as video tutorials go, when click the power button it boots but nothing shows on monitor and after a couple second, like 30secs, it shuts down by itself but before that freezes at qcode 55 for like 5secs then briefly shows an 8 for like a milisecond (not 08 just ? then shuts down. I have looked at code 55 and it says "memory not installed" but I've tried different dimms, used one stick, use both sticks switch it around all sorts but still nothing. Any help is appreciated thanks. Mobo: Crosshair VII hero wifi Cpu: Ryzen 7 2700x Memory kit: 2x8gb corsair vengeance 3000mhz ver. 5.36 Cooler: AIO masterliquid ML240R RGB PSU: Evga supernova 850 p2 Case: Bequiet dark base pro 900 rev. 2 Edit: when memory is completely removed from system it stays on and qcode "AA" is shown. So now I thinks its possibly a memory problem not sure as i dont have anymore to test and ddr4 memory is very scarce where I live, so what to do?

Hello, yesterday I tried to overclock my Threadripper 1950X using Ryzen Master Software. I am using a zenith extreme mainboard with a custom loop with two 280 radiators, so cooling shouldn't be an issue. I had set the voltage to 1.4 as I've read that that is the maximum safe voltage for Threadripper. I didn't intend to leave it at this high for extended periods, just for some benchmarking. From there I started with 4 GHz and ran 3D Mark and then increment in 0.025 steps. When I reached 4.2 GHz it crashed the PC. It then went into a bootloop and I won*t even POST anymore. It always stops at Q-Code D0, which the Internet says is CPU Initialization failed. I tried removing all but one stick of RAM and tried different sticks in every slot without success. I also took a known good stick from another system which produced the same error. Resetting CMOS didn't help. Using the Safe Boot button or the retry button also didn't help. Disabling the GPU didn't change the Q-Code, trying to POST without any RAM resulted in a different Q-Code, which is expected, I guess. Does any of you have any other ideas what I can try before ordering a new CPU? Full system specs: ASUS Zenith Extreme Threadripper 1950X 4x8 GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3200 CL14 ASUS Poseidon GTX 1080 Ti Samsung 960 EVO M.2 1 TB be quiet! Dark Power Pro 1000W Cooling is done with a EK Monoblock in a custom loop with two 280 radiators. Thank you very much. Edit: The GPU ran at stock speeds and the RAM was set to its XMP Profile (3200 CL14)

This pc will not boot. Showing errors 35, 4f. Specs: 16gb gskill 2400 ram I7 6700k Asus maximus ranger vIII z170 Msi r9 390. I've take the ram out and put it in differnt slots one at a time. I've taken the video card out, and I've reseated the cpu, tried another psu. Still no boot, same error. The guy told me this pc somehow killed his outlet (burnt it, I think it was hit by a surge or lightening). Any ideas?

So the time had finally arrived and I got the last part for the 1950X build. Put the Designare on the test bench, installed the CPU, Ram, cooler, drive and GPU. Figured out which power cable fits the 4pin CPU connector and it fired up perfect on the first try! Installed windows, updated Bios to the most current version. Everything is looking good. Except for code AA. It was there in the first BIOS and still there after the update. In the manual it says reserved. I don't see any issues with the performance anywhere. I left it on all night burning in while doing some folding@home on the Chrome client and it peaked at 60C with all cores at 100% all night on stock clocks. USB works, PCI slots work, at least one of the m.2 slots work. So far so good. Except for that dang AA. Anyone have any ideas what this code means?

Hello,Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this post. I recently started having a very frustrating issue with my new PC (built myself). Specs and isse are described below. Motherboard: ASUS Maximus ROG VIII Hero with latest bios CPU: I5 6600k 3.5 Ghz CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 AiO Liquid Cooling Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 2666 GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 6GB DUAL-GTX1060-O6G PSU: Corsair AX760i HDD: 1x Samsung Evo 960 m2 256gb (windows installed), 1x Samsung Evo 860 512gb (secondary drive), 1x Western Digital SATA 1 TB Sound Blaster Zx PCIe Inateck SuperSpeed 4 Ports PCI-E to USB 3.0 Expansion Card I have had this setup running since early October 2017 and over this past weekend (Friday, 11/24/17) thought it was a good idea to do some light overclocking. I truly regret doing this now, but hindsight is 20/20 and given my setup is ideal for overclocking, I thought it wouldn't hurt to try. This is not my first time overclocking, but I am not an "expert" per se. I followed guides directly on the ASUS ROG website and had overclocked my cpu to 4.3 ghz. Per the guide, I manually set voltage at 1.35. I VERY closely monitored the temperatures of the chip and they never reached above 55C at full load with stress testing. It would typically idle around 28C, which from my understanding, are pretty decent temperatures. I also did some minor GPU overclocking briefly, (didn't add voltage), saw very minimal gains, and just set everything back to default using MSI Afterburner yesterday 11/27/17. Earlier today, while watching a YouTube video with multiple tabs open in Chrome, my computer completely froze. That is, I couldn't move the mouse, no response to keyboard commands, had to do a hard reset. Upon restarting the PC, as Windows 10 was loading, I received a BSOD with Error 0xc0000001 "you'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. if you don't have any installation media contact your system administrator or pc manufacturer." It would essentially BSOD every time windows would try to load regardless of it were in Safe Mode or any type of recovery environment. I could still get into BIOS just fine earlier and set everything back to default, but still got BSODS. After doing some research, I started to try to eliminate things that might be causing them... started by disconnecting external devices, then removed my ASUS GPU 1060, and finally took out one of my sticks of ram. Upon trying to start with one stick of ram, using on-board video card, and every PCIe card taken out, I could no longer POST and can NO LONGER get to BIOS either. My ASUS motherboard was showing a Q-Code Error 62 (for sure 62, NOT "b2") with the white VGA led on, which seems to mean "INSTALLATION OF THE PCH RUNTIME SERVICES". The monitor connected to integrated onboard GPU is just a blank black screen, doesn't detect any input. I tried clearing CMOS multiple times, tried the Asus Bios flash utility to reflash the latest bios, and no matter what, I cannot get past Error 62. I tried different monitors and cables as well just for the heck of it. Also tried one stick of ram (tried seating in every available slot as well) I still could no longer POST. I also just tried flashing the previous version of the motherboard's bios (3501) using the USB port on the back, but same error 62 result. Earlier today, I tried my friends ram from his PC in mine and still received the error code 62 with solid VGA LED illuminated. My assumption at this point is that it is the processor... I really hope it is not the motherboard, but before buying new parts, I thought I would ask for another opinion here. Below is a video of the codes before it finally halts on 62. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I appreciate any suggestions or feedback.

I just got done plugging in the Nzxt internal usb hub. Booted into windows just fine but after I put the computer into hibernation mode and turned it back up, I got nothing. I now keep getting qcode 0d. At some point I got qcode b6 but that was only once. I can’t even go into bois. I have it plugged in for DP and trying hdmi. I get nothing. Plwase I really need someone’s help on this. I tried looking all over the internet but I can’t aeem to find anything with this problem. I found someone having this problem but they had a crosshair hero 5 formula z with the 9590 i have a crossroad hero 6 with a 1800x, 64gbram, two titan x (p). Samsung 1tb evo nvme m.2.(windows). It’s been two hours now and I still got nothing. I’m desperate. I need this machine running back up again. Please and thank you!

Two weeks ago, I had to RMA my motherboard and PSU for defects. I put a post here on the forum if you want to see it. Anyway, the replacements came today and put everything back together. The system starts up and all the lights and fans start up and what not but only displays the qcode "00" and just idles. It doesn't go into the BIOS. I've gone through the basic troubleshooting methods (reseat all components, clearing cmos, breadboarding etc.) and doing a BIOS flashback. I'm getting very frustrated because I have only used this PC for 3 days in the past 3 weeks. After some digging, I found out that a potential problem could be the CPU. I hope it doesn't come to that because I don't have the original box anymore and I already dropped many cash on this build. Here are the specs: X99A II Asus Mobo i7-6850k Corsair H115i 2x Asus 1080 Strix SLI 32 GB Corsair DDR4 LPX RAM 850w EVGA Supernova G2 PSU Samsung 950 Pro 512GB 3x 2TB Seagate HDD I was wondering if any of you guys had any suggestions on what I should do. Thanks for the help.

I had just built my first PC the other week. Last night There was a thunderstorm and I'm pretty sure lightning hit near the house before I remembered to turn my computer off. I'm also ashamed to say that I *think* that what I had assumed was a surge protector was just a normal power strip (I'm not 100% sure though). Anyway I noticed my mouse and keyboard shut down and turned back on within a few seconds two times today, also the logitech 430g headset doesn't work when I use the USB adaptor it comes with all of a sudden today but the 3.5 jack works so I'm assuming that got fried. I looked at my motherboard which is a Asus X99 Deluxe 2 and it's always displaying the code 40 now. I looked in the manual and didn't see the number 40 under it's Q codes and After a google search I saw different people said the code 40 was different things so I thought I would ask if anyone knows what code 40 is and also if there is anything I should do to make sure nothing is wrong.

Hey everyone, I finally just finished assembling my new computer, intended for some hardcore 3D rendering and some gaming. A problem I've encountered and just can't find a definitive solution to is the fact that my mobo (Asus Deluxe-II) just won't post, and keeps giving me codes 13 and 60, with it occasionally flashing 53, 66, and 67 in split seconds. Here is my partpicker, http://pcpartpicker.com/list/fFZbtJ I've researched and researched until I knew it would be functional, but maybe somewhere in physical installation something went wrong? Nothing I can find through FAQ's and googling gives me anything certain; many random fixes referring to DIMM placement, and people satisfied with those fixes, but none of these 'fixes' I've discovered seem to help. Is there some compatibility issue I'm just simply not aware of...?

Asus POST Code 53 (Solved -- incompatible memory)
UselessBlueprint posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Solution: Used RAM from the Qualified Vendor List at the appropriate speed. Better research would have prevented this. Motherboard: Asus X99-A (USB 3.0) CPU: i7 5820K (cooler: Corsair H100i v2) GPU: EVGA GTX 960 SC RAM: 16 GB EVGA DDR4 2400 MHz (2x8GB) PSU: 650W (EVGA, cba for model) Problem: Q Code 53 ( memory initialization ) - slow reboot loop Attempted solutions: MemOK button Tested RAM individually in each slot Every method of BIOS reset I know (did not flash, however) Reseated CPU twice, inspecting pins with a loupe (all looks good to me) Details: I had this error when I first build the machine yesterday. I let it sit for a little while with no power and the battery removed. After that, it took several reboots before I finally got into the UEFI/BIOS. It worked for the rest of the night, and managed to boot into windows as well. (Note, the RAM was only running 2133 MHz according the UEFI/BIOS and task manager, but that's fine because I was going to set it up for 2133 anyway. Unfortunately, this was the only DDR4 I could find at my local shop today when I replaced the RAM.) This morning I returned the RAM I initially bought, as one stick always failed to show and I assumed it was bad. The original RAM is the same kind as what I am currently running. Now I am getting the same 53 error, but no methods have been able to resolve the issue today. -
Hey all, About 3 weeks ago I posted a topic about some potential bad RAM that I may have. This is a new build: Intel Core i7 6700k (With Dark Rock Pro 3 as the cooler) 32 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX (2 x 16 GB) ASUS Z170 Deluxe ADATA Premier SP550 120 GB SSD LSP Ultra 750W So, expanding on the old topic--at the time I was getting RAM errors with Memtest. I've RMA'd the RAM as I've said, and have updated the BIOS today to the latest version. (1402 I believe it was). Now, on top of Windows Setup not booting, and the RAM errors in memtest, I'm getting Qcode errors 61 and 62, which are NVRAM Initialization and Installation of PCH runtime services, respectively. Rebooting sometimes gets me out of that Qcode loop, and resetting cmos gets me out of there all of the time. Running memtest overnight gave me an "Unexpected interrupt - Halting CPU2". I've also tried re-seating the CPU, making sure that there are no bent pins (or that the CPU isn't bent), and making sure that the cooler isn't on too tight. I've screwed it in all the way but didn't force the screws further than they would go with just turning it with a light grip. I've tried various RAM stick combinations in different slots, with the same result. I'm also using onboard HDMI out for now as I can't afford a graphics card just yet. I'm wondering if this is a bad CPU, or if my motherboard needs to be RMA'd. I'm confused and frustrated, and out of ideas. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys. Edit: Is it possible at all that the giant CPU cooler damaged the CPU and/or the socket? It was working for a while and then stopped while I was installing software, which prompted me to assume Windows just crapped itself, and reinstall it.
