Hey, seems I'm making one of these again... I have an ASUS x570-E Gaming board. Yesterday I used the PC normally, without issues. Today it refused to start. It wasn't even willing to post, just threw a 1F error. Removed the CMOS battery, shorted the reset pins, took the graphics card out and put an old r7 250 in, but none of these helped. I checked the site, there was a new BIOS released 3 days ago, figured I'll install that through BIOS Flashback, maybe there was something important in it. Now I'm getting a 22 code, which seems RAM related. So I tried different sticks in different slots, tried with only 1 stick, tried without ram, nothing. This borad feels like a brittle POS. It took me almost 2 weeks to troubleshoot all the issues it had back when I put it in. It's barely been 2 month and it's started again. Full specs: Ryzen 9 5950x 4x8GB G.Skill Trident Z INNO3d RTX 4090 EVGA 1000GT 80+ Gold Alpenföhn 360AIO for the CPU. Any Ideas on what I could do with this garbage other than throwing it out?

My pc wouldn't post this morning after working perfectly fine last night. I couldn't find much info on the code and there was a lot of misinformation ranging from thermal paste to ram. For me, simply changing the graphics card to a different slot solved the issue and my pc posted

Hello all, I've finally spent the money to get the RAM I wanted-- Corsair Dominator DDR4-- for an Asus X99 motherboard with an i7-5930k CPU. My only sticks of DDR4. I have it hooked up to a Corsair RM750X and everything seems to power on-- even the RAM lights up. The PC components come to life but the system itself won't display anything (tried with several GPUs) and gives me Q-Code Error 53. I've looked this up and it has something to do with memory, but I've tried every DIMM slot and even no RAM at all, and it still gives me this error. I've also tried resetting the CMOS, pressing the MemOK button, taking the CMOS battery out, replacing it, reseating the CPU, and checking that all the pin connectors were in the PSU and the motherboard headers. I'm still getting this error! Any ideas are appreciated.

Specs: i7 6800K Asus X99 Deluxe II Corsair Dominator platinum 4x4GB DDR4 3600 EVGA GTX 1080 Classified Corsair HX1050 NZXT Phantom 820 Yesterday I left my computer turned on, this morning I woke up and browsed the Internet for a while, suddenly the computer turned itself off, stupidly, I tried to start it again, it turned on but shut off after a couple seconds, i did it twice, then it just "died". The third time I tried to turn it on, I got a Q-Code 00, with all fans spinning (including Graphics Card) and a Red CPU Light. Then I disassembled the cooler (NH-D14), took off all cables except the 24-pin, 8-Pin cpu and the 2x8-Pin for the graphics card, checked every cable (power, mb 24 pin, cpu 8 pin, vga 2x8 pin), reassembled the screws: Nothing. Re-installed cpu, graphics card and DIMMs (installed only 1 DIMM), nothing. Swapped PSU, HX1050 -> EVGA 850 B2 (Working right now on my 2nd computer), nothing. I had a look at the cpu socket but found nothing, neither the in the cpu. In addition, there was no smell of "fried" components. I don't know of it is dead cpu or dead motherboard, any thoughts about how to discover that? Knowing if the motherboard is the problem would help me a lot, because asus rma sucks, they don't cover any products bought outside Brazil (I bought the mobo in US), but the law say different: Since they sell this product here and they're a global brand, they should cover my product. (I hate those Asus guys so much) If the CPU is the problem, I can simply contact intel and get a new processor.

Hi, I just built a new pc. Before anything else, here are the specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1800X CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i v2 Motherboard: Asus Crosshair VI Hero GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB FTW3 RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 3000 Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 750D Airflow Edition, Full Tower PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750W Optical Drive: Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal OEM Optical Drive I completed the build and connected a monitor via DVI. I also connected a keyboard to the USB slot marked BIOS. I power on the computer and I immediately see the status code ("Q-Code") 46. (See attached) The "no signal" message on my monitor disappears but it's a black screen. My motherboard manual has no indication of what "46" means. (See attached) The only thing I saw before "46" was "8" for about a 1/4 of a second. After some research online I tried reducing my RAM to one slot (8GB total) to no avail, same problem. I have also switched on "safe mode" to see if it can run the RAM at a lower frequency in case that's the problem. Didn't help. From what I can tell, every component within the pc seems to be working–all fans are spinning. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this? Would this be the result of user error in cabling, or a problem with the CPU? RAM? All I ask is that the BIOS shows up. From there, I'm golden. Thanks for any ideas!

Has anyone ever encountered that error? It prevents my PC from booting, it works, but there is nothing going on besides components visually doing their thing inside the PC case.

Hi there, As the title suggests, the system was working perfectly fine and then I changed almost all the settings for my RAM in the advanced menu of my bios and also one setting regarding the CPU (can't remember what, but I tried to overclock to 4.6Ghz by entering "46" in the 'advanced' section NOT the 'extreme' section) and now, my system won't post. Everything is effectively brand new, all shipped to my house within the last fortnight. Here's my gear: ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (WiFi) Ryzen 7 3700x Stock AMD Wraith Prism Cooler MSI VENTUS GP OC RTX 2080 TI Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500Gb G.Skill 3600Mhz 16Gb (8x2) DDR4 16-19-19-19-35 F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC ROG Strix 850W 80+ Gold Fully Modular Power Supply I get power to all my components, my CPU cooler's fans and lights turn on, my GPU's fans turn on and the RAM lights up. My motherboard provides a Q-code LED, which cycles through RAM (yellow), CPU(red), VGA (white) and system boot(yellow green). Mine is stuck at VGA(white) and displays these codes: 0C dE aD 30 47 01 92 The only two codes that aren't part of a booting up sequence are 0C, dE and 47. "0C", according to my manual is "reserved for future AMI SEC error codes". Nice and vague. dE and 47 are nowhere to be found, I've googled for them but no forum has them listed. My own troubleshooting: This is all being done without any connection to my case or external USB items. Everything that is connected is my CPU, CPU cooler + it's RGB and USB, alternating GPUs for external display, RAM and PSU. I've unplugged the PSU, waited five minutes and then removed the CMOS battery. I waited 30 minutes and then put it back in. Nothing changed. I used an 'LN2 Mode Jumper' which the manual said would 'remedy the cold-boot bug during POST and help the system boot successfully.' Nothing changed. Granted, I'm not sure if I have the cold-boot bug, but it was worth a try. I tried the onboard CMOS button while the system was and was not connected to power by pressing it once and then when that didn't work by holding it down. Nothing changed. I tried swapping out my GPU for the GT610 incase I'd messed up my 4 day old 2080 Ti (dw, it was brand new from Mwave and cheap) and I've reseated both my GPU's (not simultaneously) in the two accessible PCI-e lanes I've reseated both my RAM modules, also tried to boot with just one. Now here's the kicker. I'm writing this on a MacBook. To update the bios via usb flashback, I need to install the bios file and rename it 'CH8W.CAP'. The download includes a .exe program that will automatically change the file's name. Because I don't have access to a windows computer right now, I decided to manually rename the file by right clicking and then selecting rename. When I plug the USB into the dedicated slot, the USB flashes signalling that it's receiving power etc. When I press the flashback button for three seconds it turns blue. At this point if it was working successfully it would continue blinking until it was finished updating. Mine blinks four times and then remains a horrible, static blue. Any tips? Maybe some help with those Q-codes? I told my mate what happened about fiddling with an overclock, and he put his face in his hands for about a minute. Fair enough.

I was updating to Windows 10 Anniversary Edition when my power went. When I tried to power up the next morning, the computer wouldn't even get to bios before shutting down automatically. The Q-Code on my X99-A motherboard gets stuck at 33 before the crash though. I used bios flashback, but there is no effect. I took out the RAM and replugged, and did the same for the graphics card. I unplugged all sata devices as well to no avail. I unplugged all the RAM to get stuck at a new error code of 53. I also tested if switching RAM slots would change anything which it didn't. The Q-Code is still currently stuck at 53. I also tried clearing RTC RAM by moving the jumper caps as well as reinstalling the button cell battery. Nothing has worked yet. If anyone can help it would be great. I'm hoping I didn't brick the motherboard. Thanks!!

I was thinking about designing a Q-Code database software and I would like some feedback if it would be a good idea. The idea come to me when i was tired of looking in my motherboard book and searching online for the code and what it means.

Just bought a Maximus VIII Hero with Core i5 6600K. The motherboard doesn't boot. Sometimes the on-board Start and Reset buttons are lit, otherwise they don't. When they do, if i plug in any USB peripheral in the USB Bios Flashback port, the Start and Reset buttons start to blink. Tried pressing the Bios flash button for 3-10 seconds, nothing happens. There is no Q-Code on the digital display no matter what. There is no on-board LED lit up no matter what. The CPU fan doesn't start. The ROG logo doesn't light up. I tried everything I found on the web, nothing worked. What I have tried includes: - CMOS battery plugged out for few mins and then put back in - Used a screwdriver to short the CMOS battery connectors - Switched the CMOS reset jumper and powered on - Checked CPU socket pins, they are not bent or anything - Took out the board out of the case - Only CPU, Cooler, 8-pin CPU power and 20+4 power and CPU fan connected - Took out the CPU and tried booting the board only - Tried with 1 DIMM in proper slot - Tried without DIMMs - no beeps - Tried USB Bios flash (with BIOS update appropriately named) - Tried on-board buttons for Start, Reset, Bios reset, MemOK With the mobo and CPU included, my build is: Skylake Build Before, and currently, because the new board isn't working, my build is: Old Core 2 Quad Build I know the PSU isn't great, and should have been replaced for the upgrade. But it has no problems whatsoever with Q6600 and a GTX970 installed, even when I let it run thru the night or when I play games. One thing to note though, my old board requires only 4-pin CPU power. I'm thinking it might be a PSU issue (maybe the other 4-pins aren't working). So my question is: 1. Is there something else I can try before returning the mobo 2. To start things off I have an Asus X99 Pro motherboard. Over the past 3 days I have noticed very odd things having to do with my mobo. I keep getting q-code errors, however, they vary and are always fixed by simply just restarting my computer. These are some of the q-codes; bf, 79, 33, 96. I've dealt with bf before. It means that my system agent voltage could be to low. This is what all the error codes mean according to my User Guide 79 is CSM initialization 32-36 (So 33) Is CPU post-memory initialization. 96 is PCI Bus Assign Resources. I'm not sure if this might just be my motherboard, or what, but all of these will happen in a row (96 and 33 alternating (With no specific pattern)) usually starting with bf (despite my voltage tweaking, though, that might just take time ) and then it is almost always followed by 79, and then sometimes followed by either 96, 33, or it will start normally. I'm not sure what to do. If it is my board can I return it to amazon? Just installed my new Corsair H110i GT on my system, and right after, the system wont POST. The red CPU LED is lit up, and I get a 00 Q-Code. System Specs: 5820k Asus X99-A USB 3.1 motherboard Corsair AX860 PSU Gigabyte G1 Gaming 980ti Details: When I installed the new cooler, I kept the old cooler (CM Hyper 212 EVO) on the CPU and tested the fans and pump before I mounted it onto the CPU, at this point, the computer booted just fine. I was very happy that everything worked, especially after a huge pain in the neck with a cooler master AIO. So I uninstalled the CM 212, routed my cables, and installed the pump to the CPU. Monitor does nothing, says its receiving no signal. So I figured I could have knocked the DVI cable or something, so I replaced it with a new Displayport Cable, still no signal, BUT when I plugged the new cable to it, the monitor recognized that a GPU had been installed, it just said "No Signal." So the connection is fine, but the system isn't outputting signal. I didn't have to unplug any power connectors for the Motherboard to install the cooler, but I went ahead and reseated each power connector just in case. The cooler runs just fine, fans and pump, GPU lights turn on and fans spin, everything seems normal except its not booting. I have looked online, but could not find a definitive answer aside from RMA the CPU or MOBO. I don't understand how something like changing a cooler could destroy a CPU or MOBO. I didn't over tighten the pump block, as the I just finger tightened the thumb screws that came with it. Any help here would be seriously appreciated!

My system is running. Asus Crosshair V formula z mbo fx-8350 AMD cpu MSI N760 GPU Rosewill 800W gold plus Corsair Vengence 1866MHz CL9 it is confirmed in manual to be good ram for the mobo. the cpu and mobo are compadible But my Problem is on my ASUS moniter im only displaying the ROG logo with the press del or F2 to enter BIOS. i have a PS/2 keyboard but the keys when presed dont do anything. the Q-code 66 is displayed with one ram stick or 2 no matter which port i put them in... WHY am i gettin THIS CODE!! I even did a flashback to the latest bios for my motherboard... i dont get it...
