Help, I think my mobo is broken. My pc was working fine earlier today but when I went to during it on it would not work. I tested the psu by its self and it is still working but I can't get it to power my mobo, the power button is not working and when I connected the pins to power on my mobo it also did not work. I built my pc in May 2020 so everything is still in warenty but I expected stuff to last longer. If anyone knows how to power the mobo in some other form or have some over way to check if the mobo works please help me.

Hello all I just got my new PSU today, the HX1200i from Corsair. After installing it, when I turn on my PC, the PSU fan goes full blast, 3 out of 8 case fans in total spins up, my GPU fan spins up, my HDD's spins up, no post on screen. Power LED on my motherboard does light up. Doesn't matter if I use my old cables, from my HX750 from Corsair, or the new ones from the HX1200i, I get the same result as explained^. So I put my old HX750 back in my PC and it runs again - no problems what so ever. So I've requested a RMA to the retailer I bought the HX1200i from - currently waiting for answers. It's certain that I got a half dead PSU, right? I'd like to hear other opinions

Well Guys.. As you have probably read the title.... My computer just stopped working... I started it... Went to get my cup noodles from the kitchen... And when I came back it's just.... Dead... Nothing works... None of the lights... Nothing... I tried changing cables, all of them.... Nothing works. Please help guys... I think it's a PSU failure. My rig is an i3 6100 and a Gigabyte h110ms2 Mobo with a gtx 710 and... Kingston HyperX Fury 240 gig... And a old hdd... And... Oh... I plugged in a blue usb mic the other day... Power supply is Corsair 500 watt. It's just an year old

HI! So for the last few days i have been having problems with my PC not starting properly. The fans spin but the PC doesn't start, and i have to shut it down and turn it on again. Also today i tried to play R6S with friends and my Pc suddenly crashed. First i thought it overheated, but as i had recently cleaned it i was skeptical and monitoring the temperatures in game they seemed normal CPU around 50 and GPU around 75 Celsius. Afterwards i ran a stress on both the GPU and CPU seperatly and everything worked fine. Than i decided to try to test both at the same time in AIDA 64 and after a second or 2 my PC crashed. I tried it again with the same results. Now i believe that indicates that my PSU is falling. IT is a few years old at this point. It is a no thrills Cooler master 600W 80 plus bronze one. But i just wanted to hear your opinions if it might be something else worth checking out before buying a new PSU since i do not have a spare one to test it. Thanks in advance. So iv got a pretty old PC i7 3770k, Gtx670, 16gb Ram, 600W Xigmatek PSU etc. So when I load up a game/benchmark the PC crashes and gives me a white screen, sometimes white with a pink tint. I checked the RAM interchanging it and it’s not the RAM. I tested the CPU running stress tests on it and removed my OC and it works fine. So I think it’s the GPU or PSU. I used the integrated CPU graphics and no crashes. I removed the dust from the PSU too. I have now down clocked my GPU and power delivery to it and it is running fine. I am leaning towards a PSU problem, not being able to provide the Watts at the higher normal clock anymore. What do you guys think? GPU or PSU? Is there any other testing methods I can use to narrow this down a bit?

Hi All, I'm very new to PC builds and I know my way around the build a bit but need help with an issue I'm having. I'm Animator/Designer and switched from Mac about a year ago for the expandability, power and price-point PCs offered. I bought a gaming PC from Micro Center and recently purchased a 1070 TI with the intention of running that with my current 1070 for 3D rendering in Octane. When I had my buddy help my install the 1070 ti along with a new PSU, Thermaltake 1250w, the PSU fried when we tried to boot. Returned that PSU, tried again and had the exact same issue. What am I doing wrong? haha. I'm about to move everything into a new Corsair 460x and wanted to figure out my issue so I don't blow another PSU lol. My PC specs: Motherboard: ASRock z170 gaming K6, CPU: Intel i7-6700k New PSU: EVGA 1000 G+ GPUs: Zoltac 1070 & Gigabyte 1070 TI Memory: 4x8gb

As the title implies, I have a PC on me whose PSU failed and is completely unfunctional. It's a mate's PC and it's been lying around for a while. He gave it to me cuz I could potentially do something with the surviving components. I tried simply switching the PSU, but it didn't boot. Then I played around with the memory and I found out that 3 out of the 4 RAM sticks are not functioning. After I took the broken RAM sticks out, it powered up (all the fans started spinning) but it didn't boot properly, it just had a straight black screen. Now I'm trying to find out which components are dead or not. Any tips would be appreciated on how to proceed. Specs: ASUS Z77-V LX2 motherboard Unknown gen 2-3 CPU (haven't checked, don't have thermal paste around yet) 4 sticks of 4GB DDR3 RAM (3 of which are dead) A GTX 750 Ti I had laying around to output to the display Wireless Internet PCI-e card DVD drive I know the specs are kind of obscure, but there's not much I dare to touch for now.

Questions: - Can these problems be fixed? Or would buying a new computer be more sensible? - Is there a problem with my PSU? - Is there a problem with my HDD? If so, do I need a new one? - If I need a new HDD, how do I go about transfering Windows OS over? - Would it be cost effective to buy a new HDD or just spend a bit more for a laptop? More info: I've had problems with my computer for about 8 months now. It has been getting progressively worse since then. I turned my computer on today for the first time in 3 weeks as I left it at Uni. for the winter break. It has been barely usuable since I returned. My HDD runs at 100% with no visible write speed, even when it is close to idle/completely idle (see http://puu.sh/mhklv.png). I have no clue what is causing it, I suspect it is the hard drive failing. I initially thought it was Windows10 updating in the background slowing down my computer but I don't see why it would be taking up so many resources all of the time. The first problem with the computer started occuring ~July '15. It would shutdown after the BIOS if the computer had not been plugged in. On a second try it would boot properly but be excessively slow, causing me to restart after I had logged in to my user account.. This happened for a good 6-8 weeks, my dad would turn off all electricity in the room with my computer. No doubt this damaged the computer. Also around this time I started experiencing the 100% disk speed problem. Now when I turn on the computer it will give the message 'Reboot and select proper boot device...' post-bios. When I enter the BIOS to select the HDD it is not there, it only picks up on my DVD drive and SD Card reader. However when I exit the BIOS it will just boot from the HDD. It's odd. I am sure I have left information out, so please ask for it. Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, two months ago my power supply crapped out and took my gpu out along with it, having fried a number of capacitors on it. It has taken until now to get both parts RMA'd. Once reassembled I tried to run a few games, namely The witcher (original one) and world of tanks. The problem that I am having, especially with world of tanks, is that as soon as I try to run the game at 1440p both of my screens go black, the graphics card ramps up to max speed despite having been idle seconds ago and then the computer completely locks up, requiring to be powered off before being able to restart it. Nothing else has changed hardware wise. This problem also happens when gaming at 1080p although it takes a little longer for the lock up to happen, around a minute or so. I have tried reinstalling the game, graphics driver and this morning tried a fresh install of windows to try and resolve this issue but the problem remains. Is it possible that the motherboard or cpu were borked aswell? {edit} The 780 has a theoretical max draw of 300W and the 4670k is running at stocks speeds, i have found figures for its power draw when running cinebench which should be much more demanding than world of tanks saying that the cpu draws 79W. Even allowing for HDD activity and fans this is still well below the 500W rating of the power supply even under absolute max power draw. {edit} Here is a video of the crash. Hi, I'm new here and everywhere . and I need help. I built a rig : -CPU: intel core i5-4690k (stock cooler - no overclock) -RAM: 16GB 2×8GB HyperX fury (1866 Mhz) -GPU: EVGA GTX 750Ti (no overclocking) -Motherboard: Asus Z-97 Deluxe -5 fans, 1 HDD, 1 optical drive, 1 5.25'' card reader And the PSU is Corsair RM1000w (I didn't want to upgrade a PSU when I get the big GPUs) and in day 2 the PSU died, when I try to turn the rig on it just clicks nothing happens but the USB ports still work. Could it be because of the low power usage? I contacted the support of course, still waiting for approval, but I don't want get the new one and just kill it again. Please tell me what do you think. And if I should buy a cute little 450w or 550w 80plus gold for sure .

I just got home from work and the first thing I noticed when I got in my room was this noise coming from my PC. Is it safe to say that my power supplies final hour has arrived or can it just be that there is something inside causing it to make that noise? I have owned this power supply for almost 4 years now so I doubt it is still under warranty. Should I just start shopping for another one? Thanks

I have been dealing with an issue that has been causing my computer to freeze while I play games, bear in mind that I don't do any "hardcore" games like battlefield etc. I have been trying to figure this problem out for months all to no avail. I have heard from a good handful of people that my power suppy (Kingwin Maximum Power 650 watts) is junk and is causing the problem. To be honest, that is the most of one answer I've gotten. (other than my hardware temperatures that I have verified are ok) I'm no expert in power suppies, so can anyone second that? I will link you to the post where I describe my freezing issue and you can see if the power supply is the reason I am dealing with this problem. Please help if you can!
