-Extra Info- (video at bottom) Only acts up with brand new discs, or discs that have just been wiped down with a microfiber (to remove any dust/debris/skin flakes etc that may have gotten on them from frequent use). Other discs that are not brand new, and have not just been wiped down go in *mostly* normal though still show some signs of struggle, and may *buzz* at the end of insertion as the console forces them in. (you can hear the drive buzz in the video) This console was bought used about a year ago and was perfectly fine until last week when i went to put in ff16 in preparation for the DLC. Even weirder, it was not doing this when FF7 rebirth launched, that disc went in without issue fresh out of the case. i do not touch the data side of my discs, i do the finger in the hole method to handle them, so i have zero idea how the rollers would have been fine when i bought it and dirty all of a sudden now, but here we are... (never had this issue with any other console) All google searches have come up fairly empty except a few posts on other forums with a similar issue saying cleaning the rollers fixed their issue, most of these posts did not provide a video, and the ones that did were not as severe as my issue. Once the disc is taken, the system has no issues reading the disc. It has no issues reading any type of disc, DVD, Blu Ray, UHD Movie, UHD Game, they all read instantly. It is just disc insertion causing issues. The console did not come with the stand, so laying it flat isn't an option (though some of those posts mentioned above said this made the issue better/non existent) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hoping someone with experience in PS5 repair sees this and can point me in the right direction if its something more severe, or can confirm that yes its time to open the drive and clean the rollers with iso and a q tip. This PS5 is not under warranty. (meaning it would cost 200+ to send in to Sony, if they even offer to take it at all) I would rather take care of this myself as i have the tools and skills to do it. Just need to be pointed in the right direction before i open it up. IMG_9514.mov

I have a Ozone DSP 27' QHD monitor (https://ozonegaming.com/products/dsp27-ips) that comes with an HDMI 2.0 and an HDMI 1.4 port and I'm trying to connect my PS5 using the HDMI2.1 cable that comes in the box but I'm maxing out at 1440p60hz, the 120hz option gives me no output. I've tried to connect my PC using that same port and the 1440p144hz works just fine so I'm all out of ideas on what to do next, any help would be appreciated.

Hi, It’s tax season lol. Luckily I got a ok-ish refund. I got about $4400 CAD. I want to make tech and gaming videos on my YouTube channel. For that I need a decent gaming platform and a computer to edit video. So, I am stuck between 2 choices. Also, m keeping in mind, the subtotal of the things that i will be buying should be under $4000 CAD. As there will be gst and pst applied on purchases. 1st Choice: I can buy PS5 + XSX + MacBook Air 15” 16GB 1TB + Elgato 4K X + I already have a 4K TV. With these I will be able to record gameplay in 4K and edit on the MacBook, I have a lot of experience using Final Cut Pro. 2nd Choice: I can build a full Gaming PC, I will just have to put in another $200 in my total budget. The configuration I picked - 14700K + 4080 Super + TUF Z790-Plus + H150 Cooler + SN850X 2TB SSD + 1000W 80+ Gold PSU + 32GB 6000mhz + 4000D airflow case + 4K 144hz MSI monitor G321CU + Decent gaming mouse and keyboard. Here’s the thing, I do like the ability to have a computer on the go (MacBook), like I can lay on the couch, record a bunch of 4k gameplays and edit wherever I want. On the other hand instead of having 5 different devices, Gaming PC can record 4K using Geforce experience, edit using Premier Pro, and much more all in one. But it will fixed at one spot. Plzzzzzs HELP!!

Living with friends at the moment and trophy hunting some games through my PSN on their PS5. I'm moving out in a few weeks and I only own a PS4 so I was wondering was there a way to export my save data so I can import it into my PS4? This article shows how to do it from PS4 to PS5 but doesn't mention going the other way, has anyone done this before and is it even possible? Also, would there be a way to just export the save data through a USB or something similar because having to put my PS4 on the same network as the PS5 would be annoying.

Hey everyone, So i finally decided I missed sports games enough to buy a PS5 slim. I didn't pay too much attention when I bought it but unfortunately sony in their infinite wisdom does not include a 3.5mm audio jack anywhere. In fact the only ports are USB-A, USB-C, ethernet (luckily) and HDMI.... So I piped the HDMI with video and audio signal to my monitor... which of course has no speakers because it's a gaming monitor... I thought i'd have to leave my beatuiful hifiman sundara's on the shelf and use a terrible PS5 headset everytime I used the thing until I realized my monitor has a audio passthrough... so I passed it through to my line in on my PC. With a few software tweaks things were running. I had to keep my PC on in order for the soundcard to play the audio through the speakers but at least both devices could use the same speakers. The problem is... with all these connections and chords even in a tight space the signal really loses steam... I can hear it sure but it isn't that rich beautiful audio I've become accustomed to with my Edifier MR4s for speakers and my HIFIman Sundara's. I was going to buy an amp/ dac anyways for the sundaras because they have low volume problems too... that's just due to the impedance though so I expected to have to do that. I'm wondering if it's safe to run a red and white RCA chord to RCA on the back of an amp/ dac output. Then run a RCA to 3.5mm chord from the input to connect the pc. And another aux chord from the Monitor audio passthrough to the 3.5mm input on a amp/dac and then connect the HIFIMAN Sundara's to the front headphone output weather it's quarter inch or 3.5mm doesn't matter sundara's have both. I essentially need an amp dac that can handle the input of a PS5 slim as well as the input from my PC and then output the audio signal to either the headphones or the speakers. I'll never be using the PS5 at the same time as the PC and vice versa. I'll also never need the speakers to play at the same time as the headphones... I'm just really struggling understanding all these audio things. I've also read that if you have powered speakers not bookshelf speakers like i do that you aren't supposed to run them through another amp/dac beecause it can brick them. I ordered the Fiio k5 pro which on their product page says you can run the RCA from your powered speakers to it... so idunno if that is true or not.... I'm just throughly confused and in need of tech tips. PLZ send help. BTW LTT your deskmat is awesome I love it! Thanks for getting me into PC building it's been a great hobby to get into while I heal from a car crash.

Hey! Im planning on buying a 40 to 43 inch 4k TV which Im gonna use with a PS5. But I can't decide which one to buy. So I am asking here. The TV should have a good image quality. Good enough for gaming at like 2m distance. Most important to me is a good pixel response time and as low flicker as possible (headache...). SmartTV and Sound is pretty unimportant since I have a external sound system and I will only use the screen for my PS5. So the quality and stuff of those two things don't really matter. Whats made it pretty hard for me to decide though is the price. I can't pay too much. since I live in switzerland it is a bit hard for me to give a certain number. So I guess just suggest some TVs meeting those requierements and that are not waaaay too expensive. Thank you very much!

Hi all, I recently bought a used PS5 off of Ebay. I was aware in the listing that the disk drive had been replaced after the original was not accepting disks, but the listing stated that the original had been put back into the console. I want to reface really quickly that I am aware of the right way to put the disks in (vertical console = label of disk facing left side of console, and horizontal console = disk is put in "upside down" (label of disk facing downwards), and have tried all of the following disks with the console in both orientations, with no difference. I also do not have any external devices plugged into the console (no accessories or external drives), which I had seen unplugging those to be a fix on some older threads i found on a few sites. The disk drive can detect DVDs and Blu-ray movies, but not games (I only have a PS4 game to test with but that should still work, and it's not on the "PS4 only games" list (it's Bloodborne, if you were curious )). The console states that "This disk isn't supported by the PS5" a few seconds after inserting the game. The disk drive will play DVDs just fine, but will error out when launching a Blu-ray disk ("Something went wrong". Error: CE-110558-0). I couldn't find that error code online except for an old Ebay listing, so idk what it refers to. I buy consoles marked as "for parts" since I am well acquainted with electronic repairs, so I thought I would just be able to crack into the disk drive and find some simple fix (It's amazing how often you can fix hardware issues just by reseating cables). Upon opening up the console, fishing out the disk drive (wasn't worried about warranty as the drive had been removed previously), and reseating cables/checking solder points/cleaning lens with high % IPA (not the drinkable one ofc), it still did not want to behave. I also went onto the Playstation support page to look for answers and tried accessing Safe Mode and selecting "Clear Cache and Rebuild Database", with no luck. Same thing for selecting "Reset PS5 (Reinstall System Software)" - no luck there either. That's when I stumbled across the Ifixit part listing for the disk drive (I didn't see it at first when I went on the page for a guide, as it was part of the motherboard listing), where it stated that PS5 motherboards are paired to the disk drives, and games (I assume Blu-rays are part of it as well, assuming this is the issue) will not work when the disk drive is not the original, paired one. So, I am wondering if the drive not being the original is the root cause of my issues, or if there could be something i'm missing here. If the drive not being original is the case, I'm wondering if i should try to contact the seller to get the other, paired drive just to see if i can fix that one up, assuming the seller has it still and was willing to send it to me. . TL;DR: Bought a used PS5, disk drive was replaced by seller but original "was put back in", game disks won't read but DVDs do, and the motherboard and disk drives are supposed to be paired together, but I'm not sure if that is the issue as I am not able to confirm that this is the original disk drive. . Thank you all in advance for your help

GTA 6 is coming as you know and I want to have a ps5 to play it when it comes out I'm planning to buy one a year's time probably But I saw a deal on a "broken" one and that got me thinking how hard are they to fix and troubleshoot idk how there built is the GPU CPU everything soldiered on and the motherboard is one piece? If so can't be that hard to find a spare to buy and put into the console. Idk educate me lol Thanks

I have a “powerful” pc (R7 5800X, 32GB DDR4, RTX2060) and i was just wondering if i should spend $1299 for a portable pc that is can use when im busy and not having to turn my whole pc just to play for a while before going to work or should i buy a ps5 which would work way faster then my pc and have better exclusive games. The only reason i really want to get a ps5 is for when GTA 6 comes out, yes i know it comes out in 2 more years but there is other games id like to play such as: gow:r, gran turismo 7 and Bloodborne/Demon Souls, etc. I'm also currently being homeschooled and i do boxing during the weekdays and I've got some time on my hands and have got no friends (i wont get into detail about) I want other peoples thoughts as i can’t make up things in my head and i have trouble.

Hey Everyone, I am running into an interesting issue while attempting to use PS Remote Play on my PS5 to play from my other devices. In short, PS Remote Play works with fantastic performance from my iPad, which is connected via Wi-Fi. It even performs well when I use my iPad from outside the home, with very playable results from as far as 600 miles away while on vacation. However, I get completely unplayable input latency (1.5s+) when I attempt to use PS Remote Play from my Desktop PC. Counterintuitively, this is true despite my desktop being directly connected to the network via Ethernet. The PlayStation 5 is connected via Ethernet as well. I am making this post because I have spent tons of time trying to troubleshoot this issue, and I've reached a point where I'm absolutely stumped, so I'm doing a deep dive on my home networking equipment. Has anyone experienced this? If so, have you fixed it? I am perplexed! I have attached an image with a diagram of the relevant portions of my home network, with information about each item. I am doing this because my home network is a bit unorthodox, and uses a secondary router + MoCA + Switch etc. in order to compensate for our walls being routed with Coaxial cable instead of CAT5e. (Note that despite this, I still achieve excellent results over these lines in other scenarios - e.g. the iPad->PS5 connection as previously, as well as iPad->PC with Steam Link. In other words, this setup achieves its purpose of good performance. The issue is specifically to do with my PC->PS5 Remote Play connection.) Some more details: I have tested with my PC connected directly to ethernet in the following scenarios: Plugged into the Router Plugged into the Modem I have tested with my PC connected to Wi-Fi in the following scenarios: 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks on Router 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks on Modem When playing from the iPad, I am using my PS5 controller connected via Bluetooth. When playing from the PC, I am using my PS5 controller connected via USB-C. I have also tried connecting the controller to my PC via Bluetooth. I have also prioritized traffic for the MAC addresses of my iPad, PC, and PS5 on my Modem and Router. (A side note: When I connect my iPad->PC to play games with Steam Link, this connection works great. Almost no discernable input latency versus playing locally.) Through all of these tests I listed above, I have noticed no improvement to input latency. I know it should be possible to eliminate the input latency on the PC->PS5 connection, because my iPad works fine both in the home and from hundreds of miles away. But I can't for the life of me figure it out. I would blame it on the Windows version of PS Remote Play, but others online seem to find no issues with it. Thanks in advance to anyone that has any advice on this.

hello folks, bit of a longhsot here but figured I'd see if anyone here had any ideas since sonys phone support has proven to be useless. got my new PS5 and set it up, all no issues and then when it reached the "press PS button" splash screen it stopped recognising the input from the controller. now its not a controller fault as we've been able to boot into safe mode and use the PS button to turn the PS5 on from sleep. we've gone as far as to reinstall the OS from a USB but now the PS5 is stuck on the very first screen still not recognising the input from the controller. we've bought a second contoller and thats had exactly the same issues, also tried using a different USB-C to A cable to no avail. So im just wondering if anyone here has any other ideas of what to do? we're trying to see if we can get it returned and replaced from the retailer we bought it from (but between the UK lockdown and the stock shortages thats looking like it may not be possible right now) so if its at all possible for us to fix it ourselved thats greatly preffered, or even if we can just work out what the fault is. thanks in advance! attached is a picture of the screen the playstation is stuck on.

Hi, I'm planning to buy a sideboard from ikea (see picture) and I'm concerned about possible connectivity issues with my ps5 due to the sideboard being out of metal mesh. Does anyone have any information about connectivity issues with Bluetooth and WiFi on a ps5 in a metal mesh box? Cheers

Some PS5s (maybe all) could have issue with HDMI cable signal, which interfere with WIFI making console unable to successfully establish connection with the internet. The problem is with the position of the cable in relation to the console. Cable near to the upper white plate (when console is laying on one side) could cause the issue ( like on the photo ). In my case i solved it by moving cable as far as i can from upper plate second photo. Issue is happening more often for 4K signal than 1080p. Check also with HDMI org certified, screened cables. I also confirmed 2 others cases on reedit. When moving cable solved the issue.

Hey, Anyone know if there is a headset that plays sound from both devices (in my case PS4/5 and PC) that can connect with either: - Two bluetooth at once, no wires needed (PS4/5 and PC) -or- - One bluetooth (PS4/5) and one wired (PC) The most important thing here, is that I can hear sounds from both, voice chat from PS and general sound on my PC. I've been using Steelseries headset with the gamedac, and it's worked fine, but everytime I open a game on my PC, a buzzing/white noise starts, which is very annoying. And now I'm moving around my setup and would like to match the PS with a proper TV, while the PC is at my desk.

So SONY very recently announced that they sold more than 40M units of their new console PS5 in a tweet or X or whatever it is called nowadays.. Which put me into very serious thought because I advocated long time ago (starting with nvidia ridiculous prices before the so called "Shortage" which was artificial induced via marketing and missinformation in order to bulge the profit margins of those companies) and really believe all that shortage hoax should become a netflix documentary (and plausibly will become in a few years ) and is just a series of domino effects of greed in a market with essentially 0 regulation. My question is this, how come if there were shortages they managed to produce about the same number of consoles (if not more -since they dont claim exactly 40M units sold but OVER 40M units sold) in the same time as they did with PS4 (which had a very regular price and very regular production with practically 0 shortages throughout) Eg here is the longest price history I could find from a "best price" search engine https://geizhals.eu/ which indexes the prices of many e-shops and physical stores in europe and compares their prices. It does not go as back as 2013 when PS4 launched but most of you can remember that PS4 did not have price spikes and it launched in europe at about 399 euro (also in case your cant understand german the prices in the graphs refers to bundles so they are more expensive that just the console ) and here is the same graph but for PS5/disc version 0 bundle So at about 3 years + a few months after its original launch PS5 price "falls down" to a little bit over what was supposed to be its MSRP (so now it is sold a little bit over 450 euro) while its price initially reached and exceeded 1099 euro (which at that time was more than $1100 american) Because of this artificial shortage. And I call it an artificial shortage simply based on the production numbers here is a graph of consoles sold in millions of units (source: https://www.statista.com/statistics/222403/unit-sales-of-sonys-gaming-hardware-by-category/) In which we can see see that within 3 years of PS4's launch (since it has been 3 years since the PS5's launch that sony tweeted the over 40M PS5 units sold claim via the tweet shown above) sony sold about 47 Million units so either the same or a little more than PS5 (since I assume if the sales exceeded 45 million they would say over 45 million instead of over 40, so to say over 40M I believe they mean a figure between 40M and 45M but not equal to or greater than 45M) Notice also that the first months of PS5 sales (in units) the numbers are very comparable with the first months of PS4 units sales (in other words the production was the same more or less ) Also within the first 3-3.5 year cycle with that demand PS4 started at 400 euro in the EU and fell down to prices even lower than 280 euro!!! While PS5 in same 3-3.5 year cycle with the SAME more or less demand/units sold started with prices that exceeded 1000 euros!! and during most of that period were well above 500 euros and most of the time well above 600 euros!! And I cant explain this other than the shortages being a hoax/artificial fake news. I mean how come that the PS5 units selling at the same rate at launch as the PS4 units sold and claiming that there is a shortage (while there was no hint of shortage during the PS4 launch) They claimed that because yes they sold the same number of units but more people wanted to acquire a PS5 compared to a PS4? If that was so then how come that within 3 3.5 years they essentially sold the same or a little less number of units compared to the PS4? <-- this indicated to me that the demand is the same. Also I cant assume that there was initially a shortage but then they started double time with more shifts and whatnot and increased the production because again the units sold are more or less the same as PS4 <-- which also (given the theoretical assumption that after shortages production increased to catchup and finally sony be able to produce the same number of untis) means that the price should fall since increased production but same units sold means decreased pricetag due to lower demand compared to production rate. So we have same production , same amount of units sold within a period of 3 to 3,5 years since launch and about the same MSRP But everyone who wanted a PS4 at the launch or during the first 3.5 years got it at MSRP or considerably lower While everyone who wanted a PS5 at launch got to see prices even above 1000 euro (which equals more than 1000 usd) and during the first 3.5 the price was well above msrp (selling at 600 euro or more most of the time) and only recently (a few days to a couple of months) prices a little above MSRP (so a little above 450 euro) started to be found in stores in the EU.

Budget (including currency): Being considered Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So here's a question. First, to establish something: I already have two PCs. Different room, different floor. The intended use is in the living room, hooked up to a TV, to play games. BUT For this money, I could get a PS5, which by itself costs a third of the price and even if I re-buy the games I wanna play for PS5, I'd still be spending less than half the money compared to the PC, and I don't have to BUILD it either. So, why get the PC? Here's the build btw: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/cYq8hk Makes sense to get the PS5 in this instance, right?

A couple of friends and I we discussing Consoles vs PCs when it comes to specs and performance. Thats when we started to compare the specs of each one to the others and realized we should have a base compairison andbthat should be the equivalent PC components. I am having a bit of a hard time find a consistant compairison, but different sites have stated different hardware compairsons.

I am looking for a headset that will advantage of the PS5 3d audio all while letting me hear my own voice during game chat. I want to be able to turn my voice down or up for my own benefit. I've tried the ps5 headset and astros a20s. The ps5 has a mic monitor button but I cannot hear myself because the volume is so low. When I go to options and test the mic, I get clear monitoring/sidetone but once I go back to menu or game, it goes away. Is there a headset that will take advantage of ps5 3d audio and have on board controls for mic monitoring/ sidetone?

Hi All, Wanted to pick up the Asus pg27uq because I like bright monitors but there's one fps game I'd like to play at 120fps. I know 4k 120fps is not possible through its hdmi 2.0 port but has anyone been able to run 1080p 120fps on consoles such as ps5, series x? Thanks!
