I can't figure out why Project Cars and Dirt Rally keep doing this. I've tried increasing the games priority level, reinstalling GPU drivers and using the iGPU. Any suggestions and or fixes would be great. Keep in mind that only these game have this problem, all the rest run as they should.

I have an xbox 360 controller for pc and i can't change gear as i want to in project cars and somtimes in need for speed shift 2 unleashed and dirt 3 I can't chose xbox 360 in the setting in project cars, only the xbox one. When i sometimes go one gear down or up it goes 2 and sometimes 3 gears down or up missing 1-2 gears, like it want's my to use a different gear I have no idea why it happens, sometimes if i press the top rear button (the one i use for gearshift) a half sec to long it goes 2 or 3 gear op instead of 1, but not everytime I therfore wonder if the xbox one controller for pc is better? Does anybody know a solution?

A buddy of mine told me there was a car game where you could import your own vehicle. Not sure if he misunderstood that from someone else, or if there really is a game that allows that. The only modern car games I know are Forza and Project Cars. I do not own games of either of those series, so I wouldn't know if those would allow such a feature. Is there a game that would allow such a feature? Ideally on Xbox One.

Hey, I have this old Trust gaming wheel (forgot the name) and I play Project Cars with it. The wheel itself works fine, but the accelerator pedal has to be pushed with a lot of force to fully use the car's potential. Bottoming it out with normal force gets the car to - what I would say - about 85% of the cars potential, and again, I have to push uncomfortably hard to get 100%. I have tried calibrating the wheel from within the game, but it only works if I push the pedal uncomfortably hard. Maybe there's a ghetto fix? Open the thing up or something? Any ideas are welcome.

Hey is anyone looking for a semi professional racer for Project Cars on PC? And by semi professional, I mean makes the odd crash happen but doesn't cause them 24/7 and races realistically. You can add me via @ Lamborghini2670.

My System Specs: Intel i5 4690 (boost to 3.7 ghz max all the time when all cores are active) (No manual OC - Non K) Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti Xtreme (Recently upgraded) 16 GB DDR3 RAM (1600 Mhz) Gameplay screen: 1080p 60 Hz (VSYNC always off) 700W 80+ PSU Getting really low fps for a GTX 980 Ti in most games in certain scenarios as follows: GTA 5 When indoor or facing a wall -> 100+ fps When looking at a scenery or just driving (open spaces with buildings) -> 55'ish fps. Project Cars Starting grid -> 55 fps Once no car in sight -> 80 fps Many people suggest that it might be a CPU bottleneck however my CPU utilization stays around 70 to 80%. Also temp does not cross 70 C on CPU. GPU is 50% at the same time with 60 C temp. Games that runs well: The Witcher 3 CPU and GPU usage both 99% and FPS stable at 80 FPS with everything maxed out at 1080p. No dips when doing certain thing or anything. Ran individual benchmarks for CPU and GPU and results were as fine. No hardware defect or anything. Also everthing is set to high performance (nvidia as well as windows control panel) The low usage resulting in sub 60 fps means i cannot play super smooth with VSYNC always on. 650$ GPU and unable to get 1080p 60 fps due to no obvious reason. Guys this is driving me nuts. Please help. Attached MSI afterburner stats when running Project Cars. Can't understand why CPU and GPU both low usage. project cars_1080p max except D2X.hml Background info: Had a GTX 970 before this and utilization was near 99% generally (GPU in some and CPU in others but at least one used to be 99% with VSYNC off) I have already fresh installed windows and all drivers. Still the same. OMG I am going crazy. Please help. I beg of you.

So a few weeks ago, I set up project cars to work on the HTC vive with a "patch"called libreVR. Never was a big fan of its implementation. A few days ago, an update through Steam, gave native support for the vive. So far the old libreVR setup keeps popping up. Anybody, know of a clean way to remove it other than uninstall/delete the whole game file? Anyone have any experience with libreVR

Due for 2017 refresh. As you can probably tell from the title, this thread is being presented as an extension of The Garage, an area of the Linus Tech Tips forums where automotive enthusiasts can come together and speak words that express their amazement for the physical world, regardless of whether it has four wheels or not. Full credit to @techswede and everybody else in that thread for their thriving success (1,200+ pages!) and may it continue for many years to come. Also, while LTT does already have an existing Gaming Screenshots thread, it is much too cluttered for the purposes I’m proposing here, and it would be impractical to start new threads for videos. Hat tip to the members in either sub-community on their work and showing that there is a place on this forum for such media. I am hereby formally inviting all members of the Linus Tech Tips forum to continue sharing their admiration for car culture of the digital kind. Despite the two titles listed as the main focus of this thread, I will keep it open to any racing titles produced for either the PC or console platforms, be they arcade, simulator, or a hybrid of the two. Exceptions include, but are not limited to, motorcycle & ATV titles and any of the simulation experiences produced by Dovetail Games. Content presented as either moving or still pictures must adhere to the LTTF Code of Conduct; as for moderation, I will be keeping it to a minimum but will intervene as I see fit. Without further ado, let’s get some administrative things out of the way! GENERAL GUIDELINES I don’t actively race, can I still participate? Absolutely! Much like club-racing in real life, I want to keep this thread as open as possible so we have plenty of room to grow. Whether you just want to drop by and check things out, are an actively contributing member, or are on the fence about purchasing a particular game, just leave a post and somebody will reply ASAP! We’re all super friendly and we (read: most of us) won’t bite. What games are eligible for sharing here? Preferably I’d like to keep it focused on the aforementioned games and exceptions, but I will be open to any game released after 2000. Examples include, but are not limited to: any CodeMasters game, any Need for Speed game, Driveclub, The Crew, rFactor, iRacing, GranTurismo, Forza Motorsports & Horizons, Mario Kart / Sonic All-Stars, and of course indie games (BeamNG Drive, Absolute Drift, Automatio, etc), just to name a few. How do we capture content? This is entirely up to the user and no one program is specified for the purposes of consistency. Software is open as far as I’m concerned, but I’ll leave you with this: Use whatever you like, but use it often and learn the absolute snot out of it. Examples: FRAPS, DXTory, Bandicam, OBS, XSplit, NVidia ShadowPlay, AMD Raptr, Steam (or any third-party) screenshots, etc. Where to host images & videos? Again, there are no restrictions as to where you can host your content, so long as the media adheres to the guidelines of the respective host and breaks none of the rules set by the developers; it is the responsibility of the user to make sure that these requests are met. >> Preferred video hosts: YouTube, DailyMotion, Twitch >> Preferred image hosts: imgr, PhotoBucket, Kinja, FaceBook, direct-attach (personal websites to be approved on a case-by-case basis) As for editing software, the easiest (relatively speaking) suites, in no particular order, are Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, Lightworks (FREE!!) and Apple iMovie if you're in that camp. Export settings are entirely up to the user, preferrably one of the following: 720p30, 720p60, 1080p30, 1080p60, 1440p30, 4K. Community Spotlight - JonZMovies Driving tips & set-up help? This of course varies from game to game, and car to car, so if you have any questions feel free to post below with your car, current set-up, and whatever track(s) you’re having issues with. Alternatively you can seek help at the respective community forums for that specific game. As for driving tips and how to go faster / decrease lap times, I have listed a very useful resource whose tips also apply to real-life driving. That being said, you won’t learn anything unless you get out there (read: in game) and practice yourself, so find some time and invest in your skills! >>> http://safeisfast.com/ Driving etiquette in online multi-player? While not a full-on non-contact simulation level community, I am going to state a zero-tolerance policy for rammers and people who enter our lobbies with the intention of trolling. That being said, the occasional racing incident will go by with no further actions required. Bottom line: racing clean is ideal, but a bit of bumping and drafting every now and then keeps things interesting. Set-up tours? Similar to the Show Off Your Setup (est. 2013); not a mandatory part of membership, but I acknowledge the work people put into their set-ups, be it with or without a wheel. Any photos or videos are entirely up to the user’s discretion.

source: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/pressreleases/243705/Project_CARS_On_AMD_GPUs__Clarification.php --- something just happened that makes me wonder of SMS' integrity if Project CARS isn't a GameWorks title, then how the game was just listed (late last night I presume) by nVidia as a GameWorks title: http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/gorgeous-next-gen-racer-project-cars-pulls-into-pc-with-high-end-visual-features someone has some 'splaining to do <_<

Hello everyone, I've come to the point where I really want a racing wheel for my PC, but I'm unsure which one to get. Since I am not really playing a lot of racing games ATM I don't want to spend a huge amount of money for a wheel I would use maybe five times, but on the other hand I'm a person that likes good quality and is willing to pay extra for it. (Sidenote: I will get Project CARS which is the only reason I want a wheel right now) As I did a bit of research I found that most value options come from Logitech... and after I had a few Logitech products I am not really a fan of them anymore. I was really hoping to find someone who is a bit more into this kind of stuff and to get some advice/suggestions. Thanks in advance, Zitrooone

According to a Arstechnica post( http://arstechnica.co.uk/gaming/2015/05/amd-says-nvidias-gameworks-completely-sabotaged-witcher-3-performance/ ) The Perfomance of the Witcher 3: Wild hunt is very much crippled due to the fact that AMD cards can't run Hairworks properly because the technology source code is unavailable to them AMD. This does not only cause the witcher 3 to run better on nvidia cards but also give nvidia an unfair advantage, me not owning an nvidia card went on the web and found that performance does actually differ quite between AMD and Nvidia. Not only HairWorks is crippling but also GameWorks itself. as many project cars fans who owned amd cards where dissapointed because of the very, very, very poor performance of the game and many seek to blame AMD even though AMD was not the culprit because it whas Nvidia's GameWorks Project cars was build with in Gameworks which is technology which is exclusive to Nvidia meaning that AMD cannot acces the code and thus not optimize it's drivers for it which means that there is a lot of unnecessary processing happening which intern led to worse performance. The team behind Project cars knew this but still opped to hop on the Nvidia bandwagon and optimize for Nvidia only. again I feel this is very uncompetetive like the Intel compiler lawsuit.

Hey guys, I kinda new to PC gaming, unless you count lego rock raiders era games, but I also love racing in real life (auto cross, road track etc). I have been looking into Assetto Corsa and Project CARS, but I know I will need a steering wheel and pedals to really get the most out of the game. I have been looking into the Logitech G27 and the Fanatec stuff. Basically which is better and which should I get? I don't have any consoles so that is not a feature I need. My budget is flexible based on the quality of stuff I'm getting. I'll be running it on a GTX970 and 4690k/ Thanks!

Hello folks. So I am planning on getting Project Cars when it is released. I am looking to get a racing wheel to play it. Can anyone recommend the cheapest, best wheel. I do not really have a budget because I have no idea what is reasonable.
