Hi guys, Lately i have started to annoy myself over the high noise from my PC. I have a 240mm AIO, topmounted in a bitfenix prodigy m case. The case is inverted so the graphics card is just below the radiator as well. How can i make the i9 9900k more silent? I have a lot of suggestions for myself here. - I could buy new silent PWM fans. I was thinking about noctua nfa12 x 25, or arctic p12 (i have a white build so white stuff are appreciated.) - I could buy a bigger radiator, and install silent fans on that. (that means i would need to buy a new case as well since my prodigy m is smol.) - i could buy a new cpu, but that is on the expensive side, and i bought my i9 in 2019 so its not that long ago... - reapply thermal paste maybe? I have not applied it myself, its preapplied from corsair. Any thoughts? Specs: cooler: corsair platinum SE 240mm AIO with two ll120 pwm fans. in silent mode it is at 1500 rpm, idle is fine... it makes a lot of noise while ingame or at load. Then it reaches 2500rpm. CPU: Intel core i9 9900k aorus z390l pro wifi (mitx) 32gb corsair vengeance 3200mhz ram GTX 1070 Gigabyte Gaming (gonna upgrade this when the world has a supply of new graphics cards ) 750w Corsair rm750x white PSU 230mm bitfenix fan bottom white (intake) 140mm corsair ql140 white (intake) <--- (i understand if u are hating that i have intake from the rear mount... BUT! This is an inverted case so the rear mount is near the bottom of the case. All my intakes are filtered, so no dust is coming in. Also i am a bit of a sucker for positive airflow. My thought is that by having this as an exhaust it might just let out the cold air from the 230mm fan which is counterproductive... the hottest parts are in the top of the case anyway.) It is not a fun case to build in so i might upgrade to the be quiet silent base 802 that is coming soon. Any thoughts and ideas would be highly appreciated. Be gentle of me as this is a difficult case to build in (no sidepanels to hide the cables in and the reverse mounting of the motherboard.)

The Prodigy M case features an unusual setup since I'm used to dealing with standard mid-tower ATX cases. I'm not sure how I should set up my fans in here, or if I even need that many case fans. Main concern is which direction of air flow should I set my CPU cooler? It's a be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3. I've seen air flow diagrams that show the problem can be easily solved by using a liquid cooling setup, but I've already acquired this air cooler, and have decided to stick with it. Setup A: Positive pressure This is my original plan, aiming for cool air intake for the CPU heatsinks. All case fans would be used for intake, including the rear case fan to provide more cool air intake for the CPU heatsink, even if the air enters the heatsink half way through its flow. Top intake fans are pretty much a given, since the GPU will be upside down as per case design. The fans will have to be high static pressure fans, and the exhaust would be any opening without a fan, which would be the front above the PSU, and expansion slot areas. Setup B: Balanced pressure The tradeoff for balanced pressure is the intake for the CPU fans would be the warmed up air from the GPU. As for the case fan at the rear, I'm not sure how that's gonna go, but I'd guess it'd be intake just to give the CPU cooler at least some cool air as intake. Setup C: Rotate CPU heatsink I could also rotate the heatsink, but I'm not sure exactly what to do to have that optimized.

So Im tempted to move down from a large ATX case (H440) to an M Atx case, I already have M atx motherboard however even with all the info online im struggling to wrap my head around the space and configuration inside the case. Firstly I would like a water cooler preferably an NZXT kraken x41 (however I have a feeling the tubing is too long so if anyone has an RGB software controlled watercooler lmk). Is there anywhere one can be mounted. Secondly GPU clearance, I have the asus 1070 strix OC, would this fit? Thirdly, I see the case takes a full atx psu but can sfx psus be used to save space? And also the drive mounting bracket looks like it can be removed but can it as Id want to get a window side pannel and if removed is there anywhere to install 2.5 SSDs or is m.2 needed? To anyone answering any of these questions THANKS Edit: water cooler doesnt have to RGB as long as it looks nice

Hello everyone, I just wanted to show you my very compact Ryzen system! AMD R7 1700 @stock (undervolted offset -0.1385V) 16GB HyperX Savage 2666MHz GTX 690 (I will put a GTX 1070 FE in there next month) ASUS B350M-A be quiet! Straight Power 10 500W 80+ Gold SAMSUNG SSD 960 EVO Bitfenix Prodigy M black Thanks to undervolting the CPU barely hits 50°C with the stock cooler under Prime95! The cable management was tough in this case but I think I did ok on that. Let me know what you think about it =) Saw this picture from while I was building. This was the first test. Started with a USB drive ofcourse. Looks really nice to me.

I am currently trying to build a micro ITX build using the prodigy m case by bitfenix. I am having issues fitting everything in the case due to the corsair 2x120 fan radiator for the cpu but I am told it should fit am I doing something wrong here? I guess my main question is can all of this fit in this case. The specs say it can but the experience of putting it together says something else. Tittle is self explanatory will a bitfenix prodigy m take a 140mm radiator?

As title says. Price is not the issue. I want the Xigmatek because of the looks (yeay white) but I'm not sure if it'll perform at least at par with the Hyper212x http://www.xigmatek.com/product.php?productid=186 Procie to be cooled will be an overclocked G3258 (if possible I want to OC it to the skies.) I'm not even sure if this will fit in a prodigy m. ADD: Dammit the fan on this is stooped. I was planning on buying another similar fan but apparently you cant push/pull with this fans because of the screwholes. Sooooooo, I will be replacing the fan with Scythe GTs on push/pull.

This is only the second time I have posted on this forum I believe(If ever). Although this is of course my first attempt for a case mod. I was planning a regular build in a few months. However, this was going to be a standard Micro-ATX build until I saw this case mod of a "NZXT Phantom". I am kinda an Evangelion geek but I don't expect anyone to indulge my obcestions here. I was thinking on doing a similar build of a diffrent mech from Evangelion and wanted to know if anyone had any expeince ripping apart a Prodigy M, and could tell me how difficult it would be to repaint. Sorry if this would of been better served if placed into the "Computer case and power Supplies" Forum

Backstory: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/454268-xigmatek-dark-knight-night-hawk-frostbourne-edition-wow-vs-cooler-master-hyper-212x/ I'm deciding on a CPU cooler. Budget is about 3500PhP (just assume at 46-47PhP per $) BUT, 1.) It has to be on a symmetrical P/P config. I am down to buying a CPU cooler and buying extra fans to P/P with it. Budget is inclusive of extra fan. 2.) Colors (on both fans and heatsink) should be monocromatic, but copper heatpipes are acceptable. SOOOO Noctuas are kinda banned. 3.) You can suggest liquid AIOs but some of them have color themes, which I do not like. Build is planned to be monochromatic. 4.) CPU to be cooled is overclocked G3258, but MAY upgrade to an OC'd 4790K in the future. 5.) Case is Prodigy M. I think it can support 160mm air coolers. Current choices are, BeQuiet Nope. unavailable. CryOrig Nope. unavailable Xigmatek Night Hawk Frostbourne Edition + 2 x Enermax Cluster (White) - 3450PhP Hyper 212x + 2 x Scythe GTs 1850rpm - 3450PhP Any more recommendations? Basically if I want to go cheaper, I would just have to find a very cheap air cooler and slap some GTs on 'em. To give you a general idea of pricing: 1 Scythe GT = 900PhP 1 Enermax Cluster = 530PhP.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KDd9Hx Edit: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vfBjMp Changed RAM Do your worst! My roommate has decided it's time to join the Glorious PCMR and has asked for my help. As I always do when helping someone do a build, I turn to you guys for help. Goals for this build: -Portability, we live in the midwest right now, but he's moving to the west coast and would like something that is pretty small, but has options for expanding -Be at or around $1500 not including OS, Keyboard, Mouse, or monitor -Great for gaming, but also in general a mini-workhorse -Have a blue theme (his favorite color) With a budget like his there are a ton of options, so this is just revision 1, I look forward to reading and implementing your feedback!

I would like to buy the Prodigy M for a new build of mine. However, a case window is something I REALLY would like. However, I want the Black version A: because it fits with my color scheme, and B: because it has better front ventilation. However, it appears to NOT have a case window, except on PCpartpicker. Do any of you have insight into whether it has a case window or not, or B, any other MATX cases that look great!

Hi LTT Community, been a fan of the Youtube Channel and glad to finally join the community I've been wanting to build my first proper pc (from scratch) and have been trying to decide on case, therefore form factor. I quite like Matx, as I wont be using a multi gpu setup and I like that the cases aren't too big. I've been a fan of the Bitfenix Prodigy and was considering going mini itx for a while, but I want to add a sound card & possibly network card. My build will be watercooled with Visiontek's CryoVenom R9 290x + gpu/cpu loop w/pump/res/rad. Now, from looking at the Prodigy M, it looks like it is quite tight in terms of space for watercooling and limited HDD/SSD options (as i have a 3HDD's + 2SSD's). Whereas the Enthoo Evolv looks like it has more space, more flexability and better drive support - but I'm thinking that it's a bigger size (though, with the Prodigy's handles, its probably taller!) So my questions are; Will the Watercooled 290x + soundcard + Wireless card all fit within the 4/5 slot expansion limits? Which case do you think is the better option? Are there any equally stylish, yet compact enough to fit these requirements? Thank you for your time to read this and thank you again if you choose to respond, appreciate it Cheers, Smarticats

Hello, The case of my rig is a Bitfenix Prodigy M, this is a nice well-made compact case. This case has a inverted airflow, the fresh air enters from top and front and the hot air exausts through rear and bottom. Currently, I have two chassis fans installed, one in the top as intake and another on the rear as exhaust, on the bottom I have the heat shield that came with the case. The PSU pulls air from the front and exhaust to bottom. The graphics card has open air design with two fans. The overall system temperature is from 30ºC to 45ºC during normal use, under heavy workload, the GPU reaches 90ºC but stays at the maximum clock speed. CPU almost reaches 100ºC and causes thermal throttling (blame the Intel stock cooler). The chassis fans spins in about 500RPM, the CPU about 1200RPM and the GPU about 1000RPM on normal use. I'm currently satified with these temps, but it can be improved? Should I install another fan or rearrange the two installed? Invert the airflow it's not a option. I've seen a lot people with this case using the two fans as exhaust (bottom and rear) and leaving the intake to the graphics card. Please, comment below about what you think that can be improved Thanks.

Recently I got my hands on an Alienware x51. The case is junk to me, same with the motherboard. Not to bash on Dell but, those custom motherboards really suck. Anyways, I still have an i5 2500k 3.7 GHz turbo Sandy Bridge processor. My plan was to build a very nice mini gaming tower, using the Prodigy M case. After looking around, with the socket of the processor at 1155, this limits my options on good motherboards. I wanted the Asus Maximus V Gene (ROG) but they don't make them anymore, any ideas on good Motherboards in the price range of $100-230? Thanks

Hello people. New member here, excited to join you all! I'm in a bit of a dilemma. Last time I built a PC was 2009. A bit overwhelmed about all the pros and cons of certain build configurations. Now that I'm starting to learn all about PC building again, I realized that I never really cared for overclocking. Never even tried. Higher temps and warranty voiding just scared me away. So I wanted to do a mATX build with a white Bitfenix Prodigy M. I know, I know, it's a notoriously difficult case to work with, with badly designed airflow, but I'd be able to overlook that for its sweet, sweet looks. (aesthetics is just as important, right?) Besides, it's not like I'm likely to be doing SLI or overclocking even. Unless you think I should try. If so, tell me why. I might change my mind. GTX 770 was my first choice, but the 2GB memory just doesn't seem adequate in the long run. So 780 seems like a better choice. But then 970 and 980 came around! But I'll be locked with a 60fps max 60Hz 1080p 23" IPS monitor anyways. So would that be a tremendous waste of money? And so my point is, would I regret getting the H97M? (possibly by Gigabyte or Asus) With a locked processor? I could go with 4690k and a Z97M, with a nice OC and SLI option, but the Prodigy M would get so cramped, and I won't be able to afford the GTX 780 or even the new 980 when it comes to my local shops! D: Anyways, I'm confused, I look forward to any help, thanks!

What do you guys think of the Prodigy M coming to market soon? Anyone getting it? If so what color would you get? Personally I'm getting the black and green when it's out :D

Hey guys i just want to ask a question. Will the Be quiet Dark Power Pro 10 fit in a Prodigy M? Iam not sure because on their website : http://www.bitfenix.com/global/en/products/chassis/prodigy-m/ under "Support" there is only some rough information given. I want to use a MSI Geforce 770 TF 2Gig GPU it has a lenght of 260mm. So i have done some math (hopefully correctly) --> i will have like 5 mm headroom so it actually should barely fit.(PSU lenght 180 mm) Do you think thats enough space between PSU and GPU? If anyone tried that exact combination please tell me Thanks NuraXx

Hi guys, So I don't really like the stock fans on that came with my Prodigy M and I'm looking to change them for fans that have a higher airflow. I have a 230mm Bitfenix Spectre Pro on the bottom which I'm not replacing but the 120mm fan on the back and the 120mm fan on the top (both of which are the stock Bitfenix ones). The fans I'm looking at currently are: Corsair AF120 Performance Edition Noctua NF-S12A FLX (I'm currently leaning towards this one although $25 a pop ><) Aerocool DS Fan Aerocool Shark Fan I would love to get my system as quiet as possible (although the front mounted psu does NOT help) and I don't really care if it's LED lit or not as I have no window on my case. As always, I'm open to any suggestions that you guys may have as long as I can get them in Australia and aren't insanely expensive. Thanks!
-
I don't exactly know if this will all fit, but I am pretty sure it might, can anyone confirm that for me? I know that the second GPU usually is blocked by the 5.25" bay, but seeing that the Bitfenix recon 2 is very short, it might just fit. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/bigbang29837/saved/4rUW EDIT: Yes I have taken the Corsair obsidian 350D into consideration but it just doesn't have the looks of the bitfenix and the compactness of the bitfenix. Also, I have very little concerns about the airflow.
-
This is what the bitfenix prodigy M must look like, but with a little bit of easy work, you can do it, PS: this is my first post and I hope that the picture is clear to you guys "thank you guys for the support"
