Okay, so I'm new to pc building, but have wanted to build a gaming rig for a while. I did my research and bought parts that would be compatible and work together. After putting everything together I ran into an issue. The computer powers on but there isn't any output to a display. The fans turn on but nothing else. I have tried everything from reseating all the parts to trying different monitors and cables but nothing works. I have come to the conclusion that the current bios is incompatible with the CPU I have purchased. Therefore, a bios update is needed for the CPU to work with my motherboard. Unfortunately, the motherboard needs a CPU (that I don't have and would need to purchase.) that is compatible with the current bios of the motherboard, in order to to upgrade the BIOS to work with the CPU I have. (A "catch 22" situation.) In addition, the motherboard I have is about 8 years old (but new in box and never used), so I'm wondering if its worth it to take it to a pc repair shop to get the bios updated. Key Points - I don't want to spend money on a new motherboard if updating the BIOS works. - I don't want to have to buy any more parts (i.e. new ram*, new CPU, new PSU, etc.) *(I did buy ram that is slightly faster than originally recommended by the manufacturer, believing it would work and still be recognized but slightly bottlenecked by rest of hardware.) - I want the PC to last a good while before needing to make upgrades. - I don't want to have to spend any more money than completely necessary. I already feel like i spent too much money on this already. - I still need to purchase Windows 11 O.S. - I still want to get more internal cooling fans So here's my question. Should I bother taking the motherboard to a repair shop to get the BIOS updated, or should I just buy a more modern motherboard altogether. Option 1 Get the BIOS updated at a local repair shop to work with my current parts. Pros: - Cheaper - Don't have to get a new motherboard. Cons: - No guarantee that the ram will be compatible after bios update. - Might need to get parts that are more compatible. Option 2 Buy a new motherboard. Pros: - More likely to work with my current parts - Bios flashing would be easier - More "Future Proof" (would last longer before needing an upgrade) Cons: - More expensive option - Might need to buy more compatible parts For reference here is my build so far: CASE: Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 3.1 TG mATX (MCW-L3S3-KGNN-00) CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 RAM: TeamGroup "T-Force Vulcan Z" DDR4 3200mhz 2x8gb (16gb total) PSU: Segotep 650W 80 Plus Gold Certified Non-Modular ATX Power Supply GPU: Gaming Radeon RX 6650 XT 128-bit 8GB GDDR6 (RX 6650 XT MECH 2X 8G OC) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-AB350M-D3H (Rev 1.0) Storage: Western Digital 500GB WD Blue SN570 NVMe SSD - Gen3 x4 PCIe 8Gb/s, M.2 2280 & Samsung 870 EVO 500GB SATA 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (MZ-77E500) Any and all input and advice would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!

I have a newish pc that's reping windows 10 at the moment. But it needs windows XP and Iv been trying to slap it on for a while now and nothing seems to be working. I have tried easy2boot but it keeps saying that it can't access my drive. And I changed the Zata connection to IDE (think that's what it was called.) instead of AH something. Still docent function. I can give out more information if needed but does anyone have alternative methods to installing it?

I have been using Davinci since the start of this year. I use it for some small videos. I have a intel core I3 12th gen. a RX 6400 and 16 GB of DDR4 ram. It would work all well no issues at all. Last week I opened it up to start a project and it was working all fine. Today I tried to continue to work on said project. It opened but when I was working cutting it crashed. I opened up task manager and amd software but and I see that my original 16 GB was over loading. taking more ram that there was. I put in some 32 GB sticks same speed into my computer and It still does not want to work. It worked a bit better being that it just froze up and I could still hear the audio but eventually It just crashed. I think that this must affect some other people but I am not sure. How could I fix this? davinchi not working.mkv

If anyone is able to find a solution on this, I would be very thankful. I bought and installed a new RTX 4080 ASUS ROG STRIX White Edition, and after running some games I have a few questions. I run ultra graphics with new drivers on a 1440p 165hz monitor with G-Sync. I've noticed neither my GPU or CPU (Ryzen 9 7900X) go above 50% usage or hit any temp, power, memory restrictions. In games like Escape From Tarkov, I only get 120-140fps on average. What's going on here? Thanks in advance! (btw I do have performance modes on and gamebar/game modes/power managements off.)

Installed new CPU (upgraded from Ryzen 5 5600x to Ryzen 9 5950x). Booted the PC and everything was fine. Downloaded a BIOS update and installed it with MFlash, then the PC boots to recovery mode. After a few hours of troubleshooting I found that If I unplug the sata drives, PC boots fine. I plugged the sata drives back in individually, all work fine individually. Plug both of them in at the same time, PC boots to recovery mode. I also tried plugging them into different ports on the mobo, and setting all boot options to disabled except the boot drive, but no luck. Specs are as follows: R9 5950x MSI B550 Carbon WiFi EVGA RTX 3060Ti 32 GB (2x16) 3200 mhz 1TB NVME (Boot) 2TB NVME (game drive) 500 GB Sata SSD (misc storage) 2TB HDD (file storage)

Hey all, for the last few days I've been dealing with my peripherals (mouse, keyboard, chroma stations, mic, mousepad) power cycling randomly while gaming. I've turned power management off in device manager for everything, have a new 1000W PSU, and don't use USB hubs but can't find a solid fix. If anyone has absolutely any ideas, I would very much appreciate it.

This is a completely new rig and I have no idea what's causing the issue. Here it is: The GPU fans don't spin on start up, but once I turn it off the fans would suddenly spin for a second and then completely stop spinning. No display shows up. I think I have rooted out some issues: -At first I thought it was a power supply problem, but I bought a completely new PSU and the problem persists. So I'm guessing it's not a power problem. -I tried unplugging the PCIe power cords and then turned on the PC. The GPU's RGB lights were on. The fans were all working properly and the motherboard's RGB was also working; I'm guessing it's not a motherboard issue either. -I tried cleaning and then re-installing the RAM sticks. Didn't work. -I cleared CMOS and also removed the battery for 1.5 minutes. Didn't work. What I think is causing the problem: 1. CPU issue: I think I applied way too much force when I was trying to install the AMD AM4 cooler. You have to bend like two pins or something in order to make the whole tower secure, and I had to use a lot of force to install that and I think my CPU is dead because of it. When I was troubleshooting to check wether the CPU was damaged, I tried plugging in my monitor to the onboard display port. Nothing happened. 2. The GPU itself is not working. 3. BIOS issue: maybe I have to flash the BIOS? *My PC case doesn't come with that audio thing that beeps on start up, and it has been making my troubleshooting a lot more complicated*

Hi guys, i`m Shane and i have a lot of problems with my build. This is a long story, full of inexcpected twists and studded with frustation, written as a last effort before i LITERALLY BURN MY COMPONENTS IN MY BACKYARD. It all started almost a year ago when on a the verge of a pandemic lockdown i decided to build my new PC.. here are the original specs: Ryzen 5 3600 stock cooler Sapphire Pulse RX580 8gb 2x8Gb of DDR4 Patriot viper steel 3200Mhz Be quiet! system Power 9 700w PSU B450 Aourus Elite rev1 Everithing bought from an italian online reseller (HW1.it) except for the GPU bought from amazon.it When i first assembled all the components i noticed that my pc suffered from random reboots and it was almost unusable, the win10 logs reported a kernel power error, so not a good start.. i reinstalled the operating system multiple times and i also used a dual boot manjaro system for a while, tried disabling XMP but nothing changed.. So i rma my card (amazon client service is awesome) and i got my money back. I bought an asus gtx 960 2gb cause i found it used at a really good and low price and installed it, the system now doesn`t crash but it was just the beginning. Now the fun part, i noticed some minor problems, mouse scattering, and wifi connection issues. The problem is that my wifi pcie card (ubit intel wifi 6 ax 200 with bluetooth) shows up and run but very slowly like 1mb/s dwnl and after some time it disconnects as if i removed it from the motherboard. Correct drivers are installed. So i thought that the adapter could be the problem and i bought a usb wifi adapter, installed it and got almost 60mb dnwl and 10ms ping, everything ok right? Well NO. The adapter keeps connecting and disconnetting from the system (like every 5 sec) till it doesn`t reconnect at all. Updated motherboard BIOS to F60ver with no changes. The solution to this problem is to use my old HTC phone in usb wifi thetering mode which results in a stable, fast and reliable connection. I tried the pcie wifi card and the usb adapter on one of my friends PC and there they work just fine. So the mistery deepend.... As a last effort i bought an ASUS B450 PLUS Prime motherboard, swapped all the components and got the same stupid behavior from the wifi peripherals, i`m going to return this board to amzn in order to get my money back but i really don`t know what to try now.. I can`t Rma the original parts to HW1.it cause they shut down and i have to deal with every single manufacturers.. The only components i can try to swap remain the CPU, PSU and Memory.. I think i am going to try a new PSU to see if it`s an eletric supply related problem cause the only difference i see from my wifi adapters and the Phone is that the latter has an internal batterry that can supply short outtages or bad psu power. I am literally begging for help, i need my pc for online University classes especially now that COVID is coming back strong here in italy. Please help with suggestions, i would really need an Anthony now A really frustrated and angry italian guy (but mostly frustrated).

Hello. I have a pre-built 2015 HP ProDesk. Just this morning I was still using it perfectly fine and then I turned it off to do some errands. Later that afternoon, I went back to my room and turned my computer on again but then it didn't turn on and flashed a 5.2 error beep code. I went to the HP Forum to follow their guide regarding basic troubleshooting of these beep codes. I followed their listed solutions. I plugged it off, opened it, and reset my CMOS battery. It wasn't on the listed solutions, but I also took the liberty of re-seating the RAM because when I had minor problems with the PC, I usually just reseat ram and disconnect-connect some cables and it goes back up again. After that, I turned on the PC. The beep code was gone, but now it was just powered on with the HDD lights not turning on or even just blinking. The fans are up and running, my mouse didn't light up, but my keyboard actually did. Got back at it again. I tried to power it off by holding down the power button, but it won't power off that way, so I just unplugged it from the socket. I opened the PC again, disconnected some cables and took out the RAM, then I took out the CMOS battery to reset it (it doesn't have the jumper, just manually taking out the battery is the way). Gave it a good 30 minutes, and put everything back properly. I turned it on, and it was the same powered on but no POST state. I disconnected stuff again, but now I cleaned off the surface of the motherboard and the fans (didn't take out the CPU and heatsink) because I thought maybe it may help somehow. Gave it a good hour this time. I put everything back again, but still to no avail. Did it a couple more times, still the same powered on no POST. I have checked every cable, making sure they're seated and connected properly. Also checked the capacitors, no bulging, leak, or any damage of any sort. I have reseated the RAM several times. I have also replaced the PSU with a spare PSU I have that I am very much sure is 100% working. I've tried it another couple of times with my current PSU and the spare (both 100% fine), but still powered on but no POST state. What could be wrong? Thank you in advance. I have a lot of work piled up because of this :((((((

Hi all, my precious GTX 660ti has suddenly stopped being happy with me. I was playing Valheim and out of no where the game froze/crashed and I had to reboot. During the boot it loaded up to the Windows10 spinning dots and then the monitor loses signal just before the login screen appears. *Able to boot into Windows Safe Mode with no issues. Only ways to get a successful boot up into normal Windows is either.. 1. Removing the 660ti entirely out of my setup and use the on-board VGA. 2. Use the 660ti ports but have no Nvidia drivers installed (removed with DDU) and also have the Windows automatic driver installer disabled. Things I've tried... -Updating to the latest Nvidia driver available for the 660ti -Reinstall Windows 10 Pro -Dust off the 660ti -Different 660ti ports (DVI, HDMI) -Another PCI Express on mobo -A brand new PSU -Older Nvidia drivers (including the oldest available 442.50) -Reinstall Windows again but not install update 20H2. Spec: Intel i5 3570K Asrock Z77 Extreme4 Gigabyte GTX 660ti Samsung SSD 840 16GB of RAM Seasonic S12III 550W & Seasonic Focus GM-650 Really hoping there's a way to fix this especially now with the pandemic and state of the gpu market... Any ideas? Suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

problems Programs Opening When I Don't Want
SeeUSucker posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
My Anti-Virus opens when i don't want it to which crashes my game (cause i have Low End PC) Please give me a solution -
This thing has given me nothing but issues, and I've already been through like 4-5 techs including a manager and none of them have been able to help me get things sorted out. Maybe you guys can? They've swapped out the GPU and ram sticks for me and the computer still continues to shut off randomly. I googled it and it says that this could be because my cpu is over heating but my cpu is water cooled and i've checked the temperatures and they seem to be doing just fine.. The techs had me take the back panel off and take out their "exotic cabling" thing and now it seems like my computer is turning its self off even more frequently. Another thing, when it does turn off the mother board lights continue to flash forever and ever, and the computer will not let me turn it back on (by pressing the power button) until I unplug the machine and wait 5-6 seconds before plugging it back in. Nothing I can find on the internet has helped me figure out what the issue is. I could just be dumb though... I bought this computer back in sept of last year... waited a whole month before it finally got to me in October, and I've had nothing but issues with this computer. It could just be a heating issue but i have both the side panel and the back panel off, with my AC on and the damn thing is still turning its self off. This is so frustrating, throughout this time I've d/ced during numerous ranked games on league, smite etc or dungeons on WoW and elder scrolls, hell, this even cost me and hour of CLASS TIME as one instance, during a zoom call the computer just completely spazzed out and would not let me turn it back on. I've spent 3 grand on this computer and have done nothing but comply with the techs and be patient and here I am with a dysfunctional mess. Sorry if this comes off ranty I just really don't know what else to do..

My TV shows random picture errors every 1-3 hours. Idk why this happens tho. Here's a video:

I am not sure where to begin, but I will say this: I have a relatively new PC (about year and a half old or so,) and it is having a litany of issues as of recent. It is a 2700 cpu, 2070gpu, B450-fMOBO, and a 650W gold rated 80+ PSU, 32bg RAM. I do not overclock anything. Here is where the issue is interesting --- I can still play games... well, some of them. I can load into Apex, Splitgate, Siege, Ready or Not, etc no problem. However, certain games just make my PC entirely black screen, and the only way to fix it is to fully restart my computer. I have tried logging into event viewer only to be told that (paraphrasing) 'the PC shutdown for an unknown/unexpected reason' and that 'it rebooted without being cleanly shutdown first'. For example, I played about three hours on the PC port of God of War, absolutely no issues. Then I went to reload a game I have been actively playing for a few hours, and suddenly it crashes on start up every time. Sometimes it crashes ten seconds into loading the game, other times I load into the level and start moving, other times it drops at the menu. GoW isn't the only game this happens with either. For some reason this has happened in the past with Apex Legends, but it doesn't seem to frequent that game as I play it every day with no issues 99% of the time. However, I cannot load into GoW now at all. I have tried updating my drivers, I have tried verifying the install of the game(s) Other games I have seen the issue with: World War Z, Apex Legends (although this one seems to have resolved itself?), and now God of War. So my issue is: PC black screens --- the lights stay on, my keyboard is lit up, but the monitor will say that there is no connection. I can verify it isn't the cable because I have checked that as well. Additionally, the way the error is occurring would rule that out since it only happens when launching games/loading into some of them. Most importantly its that no commands work so its as if the PC is turned off (although it is clearly running --- fans spinning, RGB lit etc). So if I try to ctrl + alt + del nothing happens, same with windows + p and many other commands. It just goes black, and says that there is no media connection. This makes me think the issue would be a GPU problem, but then why can I run all of these other games no issue? Also, why would I be having issues with my GPU on a mostly new GPU that isn't OC'd or had any crazy wear and tear? This is strange because just as a test I just loaded into: Halo (new one), Splitgate, Apex, Ender Lillies, Super Meat Boy, and Siege. All of these games loaded no issue. However, the moment I go to boot GoW or WWZ it crashes without fail. I am at my wits end because I cannot buy games on a gamble that they will work anymore.... particularly since it seems to happen almost randomly in the sense that I played multiple hours of GoW before being met with the issue. Lastly, I have been checking the CPU usage/ Power usage and it is entirely normal. Nothing spiking like crazy, and the heat is well within the high thirties low 40s region.... Please, if anyone has any level of advice I do not know what to do. I have checked a myriad of 'solutions' and haven't found one that fixes the issue, or is something that I have already done....
