He im new to building a pc and im have been looking at psu and i thought i had one but than i found out by reading reviews that it was as good as i thought it was, so now im looking for a decent psu that will have good performance and that wont cost too much. specs im getting: gpu: rtx 2060 cpu: ryzen 5 5600x ram(not sure if it matters):16gb estimated watt(by pcpartpicker):339 but i would rather go with atleast 600-650 cause i wanna upgrade something in the future my budget: €60-90 though im hoping to find something near the €60 because of the gpu market am i spending A LOT of money on the gpu but i know that it isnt smart to cut corners at the psu so if its more than i understand cause dont wanna break something because i bought a sucking psu. any suggestions? thanks for reading.

Hello, I'm currently building a PC with Corsair RM Series RM850 2019 and an MSI X570-A Pro, and I'm feeling stupid finding the right cable for CPU Power. The Cable labeled CPU fits in the 8pin but the other side not in the PSU (because of the double wide clip) and the PCIe Cable does fit in the 8pin but only 6 pins not the modular 6+2. Is the 6 Pin in the 8 Pin the right Cable? I mean it fits, but it doesn't feel right when there is a Cable labeled CPU. For the power required: I'm running a Ryzen 5 5600X.

Hello! I was going to start my computer one day and it booted into bios. the ssd m.2 didnt show in boot devices. I restarted computer but nothing happened, it still didnt show. I opened up the computer and i unplugged cpu power cable, motherboard power cable and pc powercable. I pressed the power button for a few seconds and then i plugged everything in again. then the ssd showed. thats the only thing that has worked. It doesnt always help changing slot or taking it in and out. every setting in bios is how its supossed to be. I contacted the company i bought parts from, they sent me a new m.2 to test. i put the new one in. reinstalled windows but the same issue happened again. (note it dissapears when i leave the computer off for a while. or if i turn it completly off. i bought a new motherboard to test it with. i put the new ssd in the new motherboard and alll bios setting should be ok. but same issue happened again. So my question is can the psu make this happened. cause sometimes when i start my computer after a night off it boots and freezes on asus rog screen. and sometimes i turn it on, it turns off and on again by itself. It never turns off when i play or use it. ssd never dissapear when i am using thew computer. and my hdd is always showing no matter what. specs: MB: Asus Rog Strix Z390-F CPU: I9-9900K PSU: Corsair TX740M GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2070 ARMOR SSD: Kingston A2000 500GB NVMe M.2 SSD Hdd Seagate 1tb (I got a brand new ssd m.2 and motherboard. its the same type but its new pls help:) I am fairly new to computer but i know a little. but no means a specialist.

So I’m in the process of building a dual system my wife wants to get into PC gaming but doesn’t want her own case so i figured this would be the best bet, but the only company i see making a dual system PSU is Phanteks just wanted to see if i was over looking any other companies.

Hello, i hope i can have a clear answer on what i should do so i can enjoy gaming peacefully without worrying things might happen and ends up destroying my pc, so long story short my pc shuts down sometimes when i'm gaming, usually it happens when i play games like sniper elite 4 or R6 Siege for almost 3 or 4 hours straight then it goes back on itself like nothing happened, no warnings no anything, and i'm using an Automatic Voltage Regulator, sometimes it also happens the moment my regulator making quite loud buzzing noises (it happens randomly), i searched up about the problems and most people said it might be a faulty power supply or the regulator since it made unusual noise, i'm wondering if i should replace my power supply or stop using the regulator or is it better to do both? P.S: it doesn't happen when i do normal usage such as browsing and stuff, and my power supply came with the casing so it doesn't have certification like 80+ or brand as good as corsair and stuff Specs: Intel Core i7-2600, Colorful GTX 1050TI, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD

Hi and hello. I am new to this forum but not to Linus's channel. I watch his videos of his crazy endeavors and in fact use some of his knowledge to trouble shoot some of my issues. Unfortunately I ran into many... many issues. So my PC is a prebuilt... Yes... I know... Ew. BUT. It was a gift. Carrying on... I own an MSI Trident X Plus 32 GB ram, I9-9900K core, 2TB storage and an MSI RTX 2080 TI Ventus. My issues vary. So to start off my GPU temp soars to around 80C when on high load. My HDD gets above 50C forcing me to close out any high load program. GTA V is famous for that apparently. It wont run Forza Horizon 4, keeps crashing, my GPU makes a strange tapping noise. It sound like coil whine but its much much slower. My PSU makes a weird click noise when the fans kick. No wires are interfering, by what I can see because I cant see clearly either because they jammed the side panel on. Supposed to come off for upgradeability but haha... Cant get it off for nothing. All these issues and I cant send it in for maintenance. Why? The person who gifted me the PC got rid of the Email Invoice. The Invoice i need for proof of purchase to register my product.... Fun. I have no Idea what to do from here because I am worried my PC could go at any moment. Not to mention its not even 4 months old if that. If you recommend me to build my own, ha... ha... ha... I cant even afford a case. I work at Walmart and barely make it by. The stimulus check I got. Only $100 went to a new phone because my last one was 5 years old. The rest went to helping family. I usually donate when I can. My kindness sometimes gets the best of me and I end up borrowing from people to later pay them back because I may have donated too much. So yeah. Thats where all the stimulus money went. Paying off my fathers fine, donating to causes. And only $100 to myself out of $1200. Not to mention bills of course. What fun. But yeah, part of the reason why I cant afford to build one so please dont suggest it. I already know. This PC is crucial. Its my 2nd source of income, not much, but its also a gateway towards my career path. I am a 3D model creator on my way to getting better and more professional. If it quits, I quit. It worries the hell out of me. Paranoid or not, when it goes. I cant fix it let alone afford to fix it. I got my own bills to pay and barely make it by as is. The PC is enough of a blessing, its just... better than nothing at all... just would be better if some things actually worked. I need tips and advice on my current situation. Anything helps really, as long as it keeps me sane. Thats what I came here for. A voice to tell me what I can do for this situation. If anyone takes notice of this. Thank you, if its posted in the wrong section. Im sorry. I hope everyone else is having a more pleasant evening than I am. Ill drop a link to the PC I have. https://www.msi.com/Desktop/Trident-X-Plus-9th Thanks. Also I really do 3D modeling work. If its fine, ill drop some renders. They arent the best but we all start somewhere.

Hello everyone i have been facing this problem for a couple of days now. First thing first i had a 1200W Omega Powersupply I was playing watch dog one night when all of a sudden my PC randomly shuts off i press the power button and it wouldn't power on so i disconnected all peripherals and open the case removed the Powersupply and tested it with the paperclip method and it seems clear to me that it was burnt or something. I had a spare 800W Omega Powersupply which i usedthe day after but before I installed thst PSU i completely disassembled my pc and do a thorough cleaning i smelled the location of the cpu it had a weird smell but I didn't take it to consideration. Assemble the pc and boot it up with the 800W PSU it stayed on for like 10-20 then shuts off i restarted it same thing I did a lot of checks such as reseating the memories ,reapply thermal paste to the CPU and GPU also reseat the GPU i even reinstall the windows due to frustration. Then i keep getting weird wavy lines on the monitor. If anyone can assist me it would be of great help. My setup is Azza Toledo 301 Mid Tower Gaming Case "3 Case Fan" 2X 500Gb HDD 4x 2GB Dual Channel 1333Mhz DD3 Ram Nvidia GT610 DDR3 2Gb 64bit Graphics Card Corsair H50 WaterCooler Omega 800W Power Supply

This is my build right now : Mypc Having some Issue on PSU on corsair RMx 650 — PRIME X570-P ATX AM4 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the Corsair RMx (2018) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it. So I don’t exactly know how will affect the overall build in regarding to video editing PC. (Software: Premiere Pro and Obs) Also did call asus support about this they said look at their recommendations for PSU. But would love to know what you guys recommend instead? (Their recommendations Asus PSU page 6)

Hey guys, I have recently assembled a custom PC and everything works fine and boots properly, however, the one issue I am experiencing is that the case fans and power supply fan stay on at a low RPM permanently. The only way to get them to shut off completely is by removing power from the power supply. Once the power to the PC has restored too after a full-power removal, the case fans act like they are trying to start to spin up but do not seem to get enough juice until the PC power button is pressed to boot the PC, then everything is fine. This is a strange issue so I am wondering if anyone has any insight or knowledge of the issue. Thank you so much for reading! Gigabyte B550 DS3H AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Corsair CX550M

Ok, in theory i can just swap my EVGA 850W GQ 80 Plus Gold Power Supply for a Thermaltake 850 gold RGB but do I need to find a header for the RGB I haven't as of yet opened the box so I don't know if there is a 4 pin for the RGB BUT I am assuming there will be, i have the prime x299deluxe so I don't anticipate there being a lack of RGB headers

So my power supply under certain loads will make a cricketing noise as if there was a cricket inside of it. And I checked and no there was not a cricket in it. Any Ideas?

So, as the title suggests I have a very sensitive psu cable. Even the slightest nudge will turn off my whole pc. I've swapped out the power cable as well as buying an entirely new psu from a different brand (Antec to Evga). I've tried using new power cables as well as even old ones as well and nothing has worked. Any suggestions?
