So I bought a Power Color Fighter 6700 XT a couple of weeks ago and haven't had the time to install it yet. In the meantime, I've been thinking of returning it and getting an XFX SWFT 6700 XT or maybe the Sapphire Pulse instead. The main reason being noise levels. I was hoping with the three fan longer model, it might be quieter. Does anyone have any experience with any of those models or have any other recommendation for $330 or less for that GPU? Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to decide between two graphics cards: PowerColor HellHound RX 7900XT VS XFX Speedster Merc 310 RX 7900XT People say that the XFX has much better thermals, but that the PowerColor has much better software and is kind of the EVGA of Radeon. If I could, I would go for a Sapphire card, but they are unavailable in my region. Both are the same price. I'm also going to do overclocking in MSI Afterburner. Which of the both mentioned above should I pick?

Summary Some Powercolor Red Devil 7900XTX suffers from high temp (including, in usual fashion, hotspot temp), further investigation from Igor (IgorsLab) discovers that the card was having a temperature issue due to QC issues related to the cooler mounting and thermal paste application from the factory (Image from IgorsLab). Powercolor already contacted IgorsLab regarding the issue and telling users affected by this issue to contact Powercolor but so far no announcements made on their social platform Quotes My thoughts 7900XTX seems can't take a break from QC issues. While to be fair this is a fairly easy fix, not everyone would want to teardown their 7900XTX or even have the know how to do the teardown, yeah maybe just a small percentage of them but still, it's frustrating to know your finished build have to be disassembled (well, the gpu have to be disassembled) because while gaming the temps were not great and the bad news is that they don't quickly announced the issue so you have to make a guess on what's actually going on with your card until someone tells you or you dig deeper to know it's a thermal paste/ cooler mount issue, which on a card like 7900XTX especially on their 3rd party model you'd think it's going to be good out of box, but no you have to go through (maybe) half an hour of disassembly to repaste and remount it, or if you live in a region where warranty void if removed stickers actually does what it says if the RMA peeps sees that it's broken or peeled, you have to bring it for RMA and wait for a few days, maybe a week worst case. So yeah, basically for any Radeon card makers: 7000 series, bare chiplet cards, not a bare monolithic. Don't forget to spread it even and correctly cover the entire die. It's not a Ryzen CPU where you can just do X four dot pattern and call it a day. And please, if there's any of this problems and you acknowledge it, immediately announce it to the public with clear detail so people know what to do if they are affected. Hi y'all. I use the RX 6900xt liquid devil from powercolor (non ultimate). Since it is a quiet build i sadly get to experience some coilwhine. Does anyone have the same issue and maybe a solution on how to quiet her down a bit? I have experimented a little and the tone changes with the clock frequency. I can boost her to something around 2,7 ghz but since i do not need the performancegain i am simply looking for the best settings (under or overclock) to keep her quiet-ish. Dont get me wrong: i love the card ant really liked building a overkill coolingsolution. Maybe someone knows good settings or some other trick i can use. Thanks in advance!

SO I've seen quite a few PowerColor RX 6800Xt for what in the current market, is damn good pricing. But, they're cheapish, and wanted to know if any owners of these particular models of cards have had any issues! I know drivers and black screen can cause a few issues, but it is what it is. (Tell more about this though is that's the case)

I recently got a Powercolor RX550 4GB. The card works mostly fine apart from the fan speed not being detected on any software. However, the fans do spin up just how they are expected to. Any idea what to do? Could it just be a loose cable? I only got this card 28th April (5 days ago) and twice it has already stopped outputting all video and nothing seems to work except audio. Not even the power button to shut down seems to work. I had to force shut down, first time also had to use a restore point as it would freeze on boot up, second time turned back on like nothing happened.

I just recently bought the new PowerColor RX6900 XT Red Devil Ultimate, and I've been having issues with trying to sync the RGB. I've tried troubleshooting the wires, the software, and checking the pins on the card and everything look fine. My motherboard software won't sync with the card just stays static red. I've tried using the DevilZone software, but it won't open and says it this card doesn't support the software. I've tried asking for help on the Devil Club forums to no avail and PowerColor doesn't seem to be monitoring their own forums. The card works very well!! and I'm beyond happy that I was able to get my hands on one (even though I spent and arm, leg, and kidney for it, even at MSRP), but this is annoying and frustrating to say the least and would like it to work as advertised. If anyone has any insight on this I would be grateful.

Hi, I recently purchased a second hand PowerColor Red Devil RX580 8GB. Upon running I noticed that the card gets really hot when running benchmarks and playing games. The temperature is around 76°C± with auto fan curve running at 90%+. And sometime 100% at 80°C. I've tried replacing the thermal paste with a Artic MX-4, no luck. Tried changing the oily thermal pads to Thermalright Odyssey thermal pads, a thickness of 0.5mm and 2.0mm, still no luck. So I thought it might the thermal was too thick since I measured it was 2.0mm uncompressed and 1.5mm compressed, however the thermal pads I have was hard and not really easy to compressed, so I changed to 1.5mm, again still no luck. This is getting frustrating as I have no idea what else to do. I have a Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 8GB. I ran the same benchmarks and games, the temperature is 70°C±, however the fan speed never exceed 50%. Please help, could it be the heatsink leaked the working liquid or something? Is that even possible? I noticed 1 outer fin from the heatsink was slightly bended, I bended it back into shape.

I stopped by Microcenter in St. Davids, PA (outside of Philly) and they had some Radeon 6000 series GPU's in stock surprisingly. On a whim, I picked up the Powercolor Red Devil 6800XT since I don't know whenever I will get my hands on one of the 6000 series GPUs in the near future. According to Powercolor, it recommends using an 850 watt power supply. Do I necessarily need this kind of power supply? The reason why is I am planning a build with a Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini which can only support an SFX/SFX-L power supply. I know anything above 750 watts in SFX/SFX-L format is not common. After checking multiple watt calculators, a lot them said I would be fine running a 650 or 750 watt power supply. Since this is my first "expensive, balls-to-the-wall" build I'm hesitant to run 100-200 watts below recommended. I will provide planned build parts at the bottom of post. I was looking at the Silverstone SX800-LTI power supply that Linus used in the "I Built an All AMD Mini PC!" video posted on 21Dec2020: https://youtu.be/R4jTCGkuXyg Should this be enough power even though it is 50 watts below recommended? I also saw Silverstone released a 1000 watt SFX-L power supply, SX1000 Platinum, but according to their reps on the company's website the restock probably will not happen until mid-late January. I also see Cooler Master has an 850 SFX power supply but I do not see any in stock or see any positive reviews about it. If anyone actually has positive reviews of the Cooler Master power supply then please chime in. To recap, my question is do I really need an 850 watt power supply for my system? Should I be fine running with a Silverstone SX800-LTI? Should I wait for the Silverstone SX1000 Platinum? Is the Cooler Master 850 SFX good and should I consider it? For my planned build, the goal for my build is "small" with power and complete RGB. My planned build is as follows: Chassis - Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini (Black) - On preorder, will arrive sometime in mid-January CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT Motherboad - MSI B550M Mortar (microATX) GPU - Powercolor Red Devil Radeon 6800XT (unplanned) Memory - Trident Z Neo 32GB (2 x 16GB) AIO Cooler - NZXT Kraken Z73 Fans - Lian Li UNI Fan SL120 up to 10 (only can get my hands on a couple for now, will add the remaining later) Power Supply - ??????????????????????????

Hi Guys, I have a "Problem". In my System i have a 6900 XT Liquid Devil by Powercolor, an awesome card. On vacation and maybe a little drunk saw the 6950 liquid devil at Mindfactory (german onlineshop), for 1449 € and bought it. And no, this is no braging, i know it is a very first world problem. I have seen used 6900 liquids go away for around 1300€. Now the question: what card should I use? I am really not sure.
-
I could buy the PowerColor Radeon RX 6700 XT Fighter for 400€ or the GIGABYTE Radeon RX 6750 XT Gaming OC 12G for 460€. Is it worth it, paying the 60€ more? It's not that much performance, but the card is bigger and has more fans. Gigabyte is also better known, my friends have simular nVidia cards. Should I save the 60€ or will I get disadvantages? I want to have a silent computer.

Hi everyone, first time poster here. Got a question. So I bought a Powercolor Red dragon RX 570 8GB version. The card was used for mining but not for a long time so I figured it was a good deal since it was cheap by todays prices. My issue is whenever I want to install drivers it wont install properly since I believe it has a mining bios on it. For now im using the atikmdag-patcher-bios.exe to make the gpu have working drivers and I can use it to game and so on but since the newest drivers for the GPU, that patcher does not work for me anymore. So I would like to if its possible and not too hard to flash the stock bios so I can install drivers normally and use the GPU without any issues. Below is my GPU-z attachment. It seems to use Samsung memory(I saw people mention that a lot about those) and if I could get a step by step guide on how to flash the stock bios it would be really appreciated. Hope you can understand what im asking since english is not my native language. Thank you in advance! The gpu-z screenshot is with the atikmdag patcher applied.

Hi everyone i am actually clueless about what to do with my current graphics card. Last year i bought a Powercolor R5 230 1gb https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131616 I was using it for basic stuff and then i bought a gtx 1050 which is far superior. Although; i wanted to give it a use on an older machine. And i havent been able to find the damn driver anywhere. Powercolor doesnt seem to have the driver and i asked them if they could send me a link or something but they never answered back. I tried several times but they never do anything. I asked newegg and they told me to ask powercolor so i ended up in the same place. I tried the catalyst amd driver but it is not compatible with this particular card. The funny thing is that newegg and powercolor continue to sell this card but no driver? What can i do?

Hello, I'm new here but have learnt things over the years reading these forums so thank you. I've been having an issue upgrading my PC with a new RX480. Both cards I've tried haven't worked: PowerColor RED DEVIL Radeon RX 480 4GB (RMA back to Newegg) ASUS Dual-fan Radeon RX 480 4GB OC Edition (currently have) The symptoms were the same for both cards: -PC powers up but does not display anything -the fans spin up on the GPU and the LED power indicator turns on for the Asus card (PowerColor didn't have an LED) -after powering on I can press the power button and it immediately shuts off (normally would need to press and hold during boot). This happens whenever the RX480 cards are powered and plugged in, including when I tried having both my GTX560 and the Asus RX480 running at the same time. -did a deep clean to remove all drivers and still nothing -looked up BIOS updates from ECS and only found CPU related updates, tried installing anyway and got an error saying "check for fused ME lock" (something like that) I brought both in to test for DOA at local PC shop: tech said the PowerColor didn't post on his work bench (no power or anything). When I brought the Asus in, again it did not power up at all and he said maybe I'm frying cards. I told him it definitely powered up for me so he tested it in a PC he had set up and it ran completely fine with display out operating. He told me the test bench was PCIe 2.0 whilst the tower was PCIe 3.0 which must be the problem since my mobo is also 2.0. This explanation doesn't make sense because I believe the PCIe standard is backwards compatible (correct me if I'm wrong). The only possible explanation I can find is that the RX480 is UEFI only and my BIOS is incompatible. I appreciate any input and advice. Full specs are listed below. PC Specs: i5 2500 ECS P67H2-A2 V1.0 Black Deluxe Corsair CX600 600 (replaced my old Coolmax VL-600B for the Asus card's 8-pin power) PNY GeForce GTX 560 1GB (to be replaced) Kingston HyperX Blu HS 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-12800, DDR3-1600MHz

So, just got my hands with Corsair CX 500. Put it in my system to replace the Delta unit that suppose to be dead. Well. Or is it? So, @STRMfrmXMN the fan sound went up again. I did not really pay attention to that. But it did. However it was not caused by a crash at all. I turned off PC before and booted it up fresh. (not the first time booting with the new PSU CX 500. The first time has no problem) The only thing that can cause that loud noise is my GPU or something related to that. What are the chance the newly bought CX500 is already showing signs of death? I am trying to look at error messages from Event Viewer and see what causes because last time the GPU made those sounds it was caused by a crash and showed same error message. The error messages are now different. The previous ones (mind you they gave 3 errors and from the same ID too and happened twice) were caused by some applications/programs not working properly, as diagnosed by @DeadEyePsycho (this community is great). So maybe not the card issue but more like driver issue? Stupid AMD ReLive? So dear PSU wizards, which of the following PSU is better? I can either return CX500 or keep it and sell Delta PSU, it all works for me I don't really care Delta 500AB-6A (no info on it whatsoever but a lot of hype around the brand, also I have a silverish case so it would look nicer) Corsair CX 500 (green label, seems to be TIER 5) I will also try to RMA the card too. I threw away the package but still have online receipt. Though if it doesn't crash any more I will keep it, too lazy for me to do so lol, so far with new PSU nothing is wrong. Though I will also do some Furmark meanwhile later.

Recently my dad and i found an old Radeon HD 3450 lying in an e-waste pile. It looks like this: Now when i plugged it into my ASUS motherboard's PCIe slot, it didn't quite work. I plugged a VGA cable into it and my monitor. Nothing. Now this is where is gets interesting. I now unplugged it from my mobo and booted the computer up. Now the ASUS logo that shows up when the pc boots is normally white, but now it's changed to purple, and the windows loading screen has changed. Basically the hue was offset. Why is that? How do i fix it? And why isn't my GPU's VGA port working?

History: if you have been following me for a while then you should have seen me posting numerous time on topics and threads mentioning PowerColor that it is a bad card and one should not buy it. Company: PowerColor is a brand creared by TUL corporation and is based in Taiwan (same as MSI, Asus, Acer, ADATA, BenQ, Clevo, G.Skill, Gigabyte, Clevo, Realtek and the list goes on). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_companies_of_Taiwan They are known for manufacturing AMD's Graphics Card and only that. (Their name has the word 'power' in it. It is not true to say GPU is their only department as they also produce Power Supply Unit but it doesn't come in wide selection, only 2 or 3 models and they are all pretty low-end http://powercolor.com/us/products_power_layer_2.asp?SeriesID=67&subSeriesID=69 and some other accessories like case, cables which are all unheard of) The experience: Now here goes the interesting part of this thread. I have in possession of a PowerColor graphics card right now. It is currently my daily card to game on it. (http://powercolor.com/us/products_features.asp?id=622). Check my profile for exact name if link doesn't work. I bought it from Newegg Canada. It was at that moment significantly cheaper than other RX 480 4GB hence why I have it, next cheapest cost around 20-30 $CAD more and it was an MSI Armor card. Receipt (in spoiler): I was torn between a GTX 1060 3GB and an RX 480 4GB at that time because ReLive driver was very new and there wasn't much of benchmark done then (order placed on December 23 2016). I also had an opportunity to get a Zotac Mini GTX 1060 6GB but there was a problem with PayPal that can not resolve immediately and the deal lasted only a day. RX 480 8GB costs significantly more so that's out of question. Approximately a month later after I got the card, MSI Armor got a discount to the same amount that I paid for PowerColor and the PowerColor card itself got even cheaper. I placed the order 2 days before Christmas so it was to expect the card would arrive late, way late until one week after New Year. And that is when problem one came. I know I had a rebate for this product but for some reason (mainly not knowing really how rebate works) I decided to wait until the card arrives and then fill out rebaye for $20. Well Newegg wasn't helpful for some reason so I turned to PowerColor for rebate. Found my product nicely, saw that there is a 30 day limit (or 15 days don't remember) for you to enter rebate since you order it, I was sure within that time period and all you need to do is find the card, not a big deal, and enter the date. Well, PowerColor starts their calendar from 2017 so even though my order was made just one week before 2016 ends and still within the time frame to claim MIR I couldn't get it. So what do you do in that case? I will save that for later. Onto the card. I should leave a you guys a post with 200+ replies on that. Full review. At the end of it there are few complaints from me about the heat issue that I could not figure out. At this state I blame myself for disassembling the card and leaving the thermal paste out in the open for few minutes then reassemble it again without reapplying thermal paste. But I can't be sure. If heat isn't number 1 priority then crashes shouls be. I even bought a brand new Corsair CX500 (green) tonreplace thinking my PSU is dying. But turns out I had to refund the PSU and blame it on the GPU. (shitposter for a reason, here look at problems I had in spoiler): Now the best part. With all the shit I have to deal with the obvious choice wouls be to RMA it right? Well I for stupid reason think the world is perfrct, so shortly after running the GPU for some time without issue I threw away the box and everything inside. So Newegg will not issue an RMA for me. However they did link me to PowerColor site and ask for warranty there. Offers 2 years of warranty in US and Canada (http://www.powercolor.com/us/support_warranty.asp). also, a moment of silence for 2/3 canadians who use english as their primary language http://www.statcan.gc.ca/tables-tableaux/sum-som/l01/cst01/demo11a-eng.htm picture taken from PowerColor country selection page (basically the whole page is french) Back to warranty, I sent them 2 seperate emails at 2 different time (not an email but more like filling out the form and pray). No response, not even an automated reply. Then I desperately tried calling ti the US number as they say: "Our customers are very important to us! Sometimes due to technical difficulties we may not get your e-mail inquiry in a timely fashion. If you don't hear back from us within 24 hours (48hours for weekend days) then please give us a call during normal business hours!" Could not reach them either. So Intl no is my last hope. I gavr up when realizing my phone can not call internationally or hasn't been setup yet. The professionals: "The obvious trade-offs here are higher power-consumption, temperatures, and noise. In fact, PowerColor strongly recommends against using the modded card with FurMark as the company found that it will damage even non-overclocked cards with the new BIOS." https://www.google.com.vn/amp/s/www.techpowerup.com/225214/powercolor-outs-unlocked-bios-for-rx-480-red-devil%3Famp That is to be expected when you run a stress test right? Well not quite, this dude breaks down what's inside the Red Devil and why Furmark is dangerous in this video (TL;DW PCB is bad) However, the card itself isn't the worst in temperature, got a very good result with its 3 fan design http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/powercolor_red_devil_rx_480/9.htm or is it? 76 degree at load with 3 fans? you can see it is on par with some ref and GTX FE cards http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/powercolor_radeon_rx_480_red_devil_review,6.html Took me quite a while to write on mobile but to summarize: Customer Service isn't bad because I did not experience it at all. The card has issues, it has been reported at least one and brought up attention PowerColor isn't cheap unfortunately, if I were to recommend a card I would get a reference design any day even if it is more expensive since I know they are made by good companies that despite having bad reputation in Customer Service (Asus for example) still at least HAVE a Customer Service.

I just yesterday picked up a new PowerColor Red Dragon Radeon RX 480 8GB graphics card, I used DDU to uninstall the previous gpu driver before I installed the new card. After that was done I stuck the new card in, installed the drivers and away I went. (I should note that I'm running Windows 10 Pro in this part of the story) So I loaded up killing floor 2 and cranked everything I could to high and everything was fine and dandy, for about 5 minuets or so then boom, my screens go funny colors then computer shuts down. Tried a couple other games, they all do the same thing. Some less graphically intensive games last longer than others, but in the end they all crash the entire computer. I ran memtest86+, crystaldisk, my ram and hdd are good. At this point, formatted the machine and put Windows 7 Ultimate on, loaded all the drivers, put Bioshock Infinite & killing floor 2 back on. I ran the bioshock benchmark at max, no crash. Figured "ha, windows 10 is just that trash" then proceeded to play killing floor. I got to play it for a good 25-30 min, then boom, crashed. My last thoughts are A) Power supply is insufficient B) GPU is bad. Problem with A is that I've ran the numbers for the power consumption of my rig, and it well within the acceptable limits of the power supply. Problem with B is that it runs fine doing other things. Not really sure what to do at this point. Setup: CPU: AMD A10-7850k (I know, stop laughing at me ) MOBO: Asus A55BM-E RAM: 2x 4GB Crucial Technology DDR3-1866 GPU: PowerColor Red Dragon Radeon RX 480 8GB PSU: EVGA 600W 80+ Bronze
