ok so Iv'e had my pc for about 3 or 4 years then randomly it started blue screening randomly no matter of it was idling doing nothing or intense gaming/rendering stuff. This randomly stopped a week after and i forgot about it. Fast forward a year or so and my pc started to randomly shut off and restart, no bluescreen or anything. Every single time it would shut off the next one would be a couple of minutes faster before it would do it again (for example first time shutting off would take like 2 hours, then 1 hour, then 40 mins, 20, etc.) untill it would start doing it in the boot sequence. Since i still had warranty i brought my pc over to service for them to check it, they tested it for a week straight WITH results and everything was fine. I got my pc back and in my home it still kept on shutting off randomly, so i sent the psu only and time this time they sent it over to the factory and even they said its fine. Another thing to mention is i have a switch on my front io for fan speed which if i would switch a couple of times it would cause the pc to shut off and restart. I did remove the fans and everything but that didnt fix it. I started doing tests myself at this point cause i was going insane, i tried memtest on both the ram sticks and they passed, checked if anything was overheating which it wasn't, replugged every single cable, updated and flashed bios, updated and factorey reset every driver that i could, at the end i tried swapping psus and that worked. So if i found a solution why am i asking for help? Well i swapped it over with one of those crappy chinese ones that my friend gave me and I don't trust it with my pc. Aprox 4 months ago i got a new card (rtx2060 from a 1060) so since i was opening the system again i tried it with the new gpu, it looked promising not having crashed for 6 hours and then it started doing it the next day. So as of right now im just using the old one. Im also planning on getting a 3070 with this new build, so i want this to account for that as well. I do want RGB for the case, but I don't care about RGB for anything else. For the power supply, I just want it to be modular. I am looking to spend $50-100 for the case and $50-100 for the power supply. Hello everyone, My PSU came with some cables, and I have no idea if I am connecting them wrong, because as soon as I turn on my computer, it turns back off... and it may be my imagination, but it gives off a smell.. (not good). Relevant Hardware: -Corsair RM 650x -Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti (6GB) This is the cable (I have 2 of the same) https://postimg.org/image/5pee3g4nr/ https://postimg.org/image/g0qqw3wd3/ I had already booted my computer, and everything works flawlessly. I figured I would connect the ends both 6+2 PCI-E connectors respectively (they say PCI-E) to my GPU, and the end that says Type 4 to my PSU. Now, in regards to the 6+2 PCI-E ends, is there a particular way to connect them? Something like the main end to the right and the cable that branches off it. This is the configuration I used when I explained what's happening to my computer when it shuts off above. I really need some detailed help to know how to connect properly my GPU... I'm studying and I needed to answer this question but I just can think that the higher are the needs of the graphics card for cooling, the higher watts you'll need in your power supply. Is this true or is there any other relation?

I was looking around ebay and found some old xeons, and thought I can build an home server with these, so I bought a couple and a dual lga1366 board and I was set. When it arived I inspect the board, to find some bent pins and unusual connector. The board is an Intel S5520UR(the E24717 variant I later found out). The connector looks like 5 partitioned connector blocks, 4 of them with 6 pins, and one smaller one with 12 pins. I didn't get any other hardware with this board. It doesn't help that I can find what the name of this connector is aswell. I would like a power supply for this mobo if possible. If not my soldering skills are up for the challenge. So ive had this problem where when i boot up my computer. it would boot into the screen where it would show who made your motherboard etc. but then it wouldnt boot into windows. i found a fix for this i just had to unplug and plug in the power-supply connector. so my question is do anyone have the same problem and what should i do to prevent this problem in the future. should i buy a new power supply or maybe even a new motherboard? Power-supply: Energon 750w PSU Motherboard: intel BLKDZ77SL50K (ask for more information if needed) (this only happends every half year or so) Thanks in advance
