Hello, I recently got a new GPU 4070 Ti and was planning to install it into my existing PC. Before doing so I figured since the min requirement PSU for that GPU is 750w (which is what I currently have) I would purchase a new PSU to hopefully give myself a better threshold and power management. Unfortunately things did not go as planned. Current PC: Tuf Gaming X570-PLUS (WI-FI) AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor G.Skill DDR4 8gb Ram (X2) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6gb EVGA 750w Bronze Power Supply New PSU Corsair RM1000x(have not installed but want to) New GPU 4070 Ti (have not installed but want to) Everything works in this configuration from initial installation. No overclocking has been done. Now on to the issue, I fully disconnected the 750w PSU and connected the new PSU RM1000x back up just as it was removed and ran into an issue. Still using all the same original parts just with the 1000w PSU I have MB power and GPU power (1060) but when I go to hit the power button i get a flash of everything as if it turn on for one second then turns off again. Then without cutting the power off I try to hit the power button again nothing happens. I have also Cycled the power switch on the PSU (750w) and tried it again and same thing. Thing I have done: Checked the 24 pin Checked the 8 pin CPU connector Checked to make sure i have the correct cables Used out of the box original cables Tested the PSU and confirmed it is working correctly Tried booting without GPU (1060) Re-seated Ram Re-Seated CPU Reset Bios to Default I know the MB is still working fine because once I reinstalled the 750w PSU everything boots and works just as it has been. Please help I'm running out of ideas and the GPU was a gift from my Girl and she is questioning why I haven't installed it yet. (don't want her thinking I don't appreciate it.)

Hi I'm planning on a new editing and motion design rig I've already bough a ryzen 9 5900x and a b550 MSi mb Case is 4000d Looking for the psu GPU will be RTX 3060 12GB I was thinking between Seasonic Focus GX 750W and Corsair RM750x. I had the oppurtunity to try the latter for a pc rig and the integrated caps in the cabled really pissed me off. So i was looking for an alternative Not to mention, in italy the seasonic is like 50 bucks cheaper which one should i buy? thanks

right so, i built my first PC at the start of lockdown, everything was fine, very smooth and perfect. then all of a sudden my warzone bugged out when i changed the settings (blue fuzzy screen on the grass etc). this then effected my other games like fortnite where i had bad input delay and render problems. I had this issued looked at by a highly respectable Pc tweaker who couldnt even find a solution. So i assumed it as the PCs fault so i bought all new parts and made a new one, bam same issue again. even tried console on my monitor and that felt even worse. all my graphics were messed up on console i couldnt really see a thing. so i then assumed it was the monitor so i just bought a new one. and guess what, its not the monitor because it feels exactly the same. i literally just bought the new xbox and monitor and it feels like implaying on the xbox 360. bad input delays and graphics weird! i use a basic extension lead, quiet an old one, i dont really know. please help. all my temps are fine ive done every single thing possible, but now im thinking its something to do with my bedroom or my plugs etc. Someone please help me youll be a life saver and ill be very happy! Just to remind you, it occurs on PC and xbox, (brand new xbox with monitor) Regards, Seb.

Hello, As my name says, am new here and new to PC building. I saw the PSU Tier List while searching for reviews and two of the PSU's that I searched for are here. I am making this post because I am a bit confused because I saw some reviews saying the Cooler Master has a bad transient response at 3.3V and on another page saying that the efficiency at low loads is poor. But here that PSU is put on the Tier A List. And for the Gigabyte I've read that is good but can be bit noisy when pushed. So my question is: Cooler Master V850 Platinum or Gigabyte Aorus AP850GM? Links: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cooler-master-v850-platinum-power-supply,6119.html https://nl.hardware.info/artikel/9419/14/cooler-master-v-series-gold-a-platinum-voedingen-review-conclusie (I google translated this, since I didn't found much reviews)

so my power suply blew up after my computer failed to post, wasnt even getting to the bios launch screen, unplugged GPU and harddrives and attempted to start and power suply blew up as in capacitor went poof and i could smell it, im usure as to weather or not this is an actual power suply issue or weather another coponent was broken prior to the psu going, however im also no unaware if any other components have gone after the psu blew no signs of burns or anything on the motherboard and do not have spare components to be able to test weather things are working, im a uni student so budget is increadibly tight, however i do theoretically have the ability to build an entirely new and better PC and end up with -300 at the end the year without account for other things such as getting money for XMAS, i wanted opinions weather or not it is worth buying a PSU to see if that was the issue and the rest of the components are fine or weather to just build a new PC SPECS OF SYSTEM THAT BROKE: Ryzen 7 1700x Vega 56 hyper 212 evo gigabyte B350 motherboard also wanted thoughts on buying second hand components such as GPUs given the recent flood of the market with cards which have most likely been used for mining, Many thanks

What if I buy a psu and get all excited for my new pc to be all powered up and working, but then realize that it has a different country's wall plug My question is: Is it okay to just buy an adapter Or should I just send back, ask for refund, buy new one etc.

i am building a small compute cluster, and i'm on a budget. I have found that since my last ebay adventure several years ago, the market has become flooded with old socket 1366 xeon chips that offer pretty decent performance per dollar (you can pick up an x5660 for <£20 if you look in the right places). Finding motherboards for them is a bit of a pain though. I have come across this board (hp part number 591747-001), it's a dual socket lga 1366 board from old hp dl180 g6 server, which I can get a hold of cheap in useful quantities. It appears to take some standard atx connectors, but there are a few miscellaneous proprietary power delivery related connectors which I do not recognise, as it usually takes power from a psu hot-swap backplane doodah. the board board in a server Service manual The other power connectors, from research, seem to be pretty standard 8 and 4 pin cpu power connectors, along with a standard atx 24 pin connector. Of particular worry for me though are the power back-plane control connector and power supply "EFF" connector, whatever that is (page 133, connectors 20 and 22). Anyone worked with these servers before and know what these do? Can I jury rig something or leave them disconnected, or am I going to need to buy the backplane and a server power supply if I want to power it up. I imagine the chances of a definitive answer are pretty slim, but if someone could give me a "no way", they could potentially save me a lot of time, and a bit of money Also if there are any other things I should be aware of (ram compatibility aside), when re-purposing old server hardware like this, I'd like to know about those too!

This is a really weird question but I'm about to move off grid and my solar system is solely designed around me being able to run my gaming computer still. Currently I have a 600W power supply in it that runs off of normal 110 volt power. As some may know on a 12V solar system inverting to 110V is going to lose power and thats not ideal as it will limit time when not in direct sunlight that I can run my computer. Does anyone know of any 12V connection power supplies so that I dont have to invert DC to AC to DC again? Also if anyone has any recommendations on solar setup that would be appreciated I'm still struggling to figure out how much I actually need to run my computer and everything else I need. Solar setup: 4x 300W 24V renogy panels 4x 250ah 12V SLA batteries 2000W pure sine wave inverter PC setup: RYZEN 7 2700X ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F MSI RADEON RX 580 EVGA 600W 80+ Bronze

Today I ordered a msi 2060 , I am currently rocking a r3 1200 @3.8ghz and a 1050 ti with a corsair cx 450m 80+ bronze psu. My question is if my psu could do a r5 2600 (I plan on upgrading my cpu next, 65w as well) and the newly aquired 2060?

I bought a new power suply and installed it today, but when turned on the pc to see if everything was working I heard a really low, nearly inaudible, crackling sound coming from inside the psu. The fan was stopped so it can't be from there. The PSU is a sharkoon silentstorm cool zero 650w 80 plus gold. Should I get it replaced since I bought it on amazon? It is an upgrade from my old psu so it was really difficult to install the cpu connector I don't want to do it all again.

I recently bought a second hand motherboard bundle, was using a 300w hp power supply, swapped it out for a 700w that I've been using with no issues for about 5/6 years, I took the back panel of ma case and it knocked on of the data power connectors to my HDD and now it won't boot. I tried going back to my hp psu witch now flashes the green light indicating the mobo is dead. My question is could I test my pay with a multi meter to make sure that it wasn't the pay that caused the board to blow before my new motherboard arrives and do you think it's likely the sata power being knocked that blew it or the power supply. Tia.

I'm looking for people with decent technical knowledge on power supplies, who can tell me if I may have borked up my power supply (Corsair sf600) A while back I removed the sticker on my SF600 for aesthetic purposes using some alcohol and a little acetone. Some alcohol spilled inside the housing. I decided to dry it by hitting it with a hairdryer on low heat for 45 seconds to a minute. I think it's equally possible that this was happening before and I just didn't notice, but after reassembling I noticed that there is a fair amount of audible coil whine coming from the psu. It's not great, but not terrible. I didn't mind much until I noticed that my new GPU (2080 super) is also whining louder than the PSU under load. I guess my main question is; how likely is it that I caused this? Can heating a psu while unplugged cause a permanent impact on voltage stability, causing the Inductors in my GPU to work harder? Is it possible that I just melted the silicone on my coils a little, reducing the sound dampening? I'd like to hear your take, Thank you.

What would be a good Comparable power supply to the EVGA G2 or G1+ at 550-650w? I hear great things about the EVGAs but I wanted to do some research to find comparable PSUs so I can get the best deal during Black Friday sales. Thanks ahead of time

When I turn on my pc, I hear a slight shuddering sound coming from my PSU. It only continues for a minute or so and eventually fades until I cannot hear it anymore. It only happens after turning on my pc and has only started happening recently. I have an EVGA Bronze 80+ certified. I would appreciate any response.
