Hello All I need some help I was building a new pc to replace my current one. When I turned it on the only thing that seem to be working was My HDD which I could tell was spinning. I tested the power supply and got the following screens. I thought it was my motherboard now I think it's my PSU. This is the seventh PC I've built and the first time this has happened. Any Ideas PC Specs. Ryzen 5800x New Gigabyte x570s New 32GB Ram (From the PC I'm replacing) Used 1080 ti Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 PE 850 New

Pc Specs: Gigabyte x570i aorus pro wifi Ryzen 7 5800x3d msi rtx4090 gaming x trio 32GB ram Focus GX 1000w PSU custom liquid cooling custom cable mod psu cables after completing my build my pc booted and was able to handle normal tasks not a problem. After loading a game my monitors and sound completely stopped working. (Black screen of death?) pc would sometimes reboot back to normal. Stress tested my CPU, RAM, and GPU. GPU was the culprit and only crashed when underload. I couldn’t figure out what was going on for the past 8 hours until I ran upon a post stating the used cablemods PCIE cables for their 4080/4090 GPU and after switching back to the adapter that was provided by the manufacturer it would work again. So I gave this a try and yes it worked and I heard a coil whine noise coming from my GPU which I never heard before but knew it was a thing with these cards. Everything runs and works now. So if you have a custom built machine with third party PSU cables this might be the fix!!

Having issue with my first build pretty sure I did well putting this together especially having researched and followed along videos on putting a system together. Currently my b550 isn't powering on no fan no RGB nothing. But when I disconnect the 24 pin power connector and plug it in with my tester it turns everything on RGB, fans and those are connected to the motherboard. My setup is currently Ryzen 5 3600 Msi B550 A-pro Aresgame 650W EVGA 1050 ti Corsair vengeance RGB pro 2x8 WD black nvme ssd 500gb Yes I'm aware of the cooler position blocking a ram slot but I only plan to use 2 on this build.

Before I start, My pc will boot up fine and run games with no problem. It's not running that's the issue, the issue is when I get up from my chair or if I walk past the machine it reboots on it's own. It doesn't do it when I'm just sitting down and playing games, but as soon as I get up and walk past "boom" restarts. I've tried just about everything to resolve it. Does anyone have and ideas?

I've been having an issue with my computer for about a week now to no avail... I first noticed the issue when I was getting major fps/stutter issues in Skyrim, I have quite the mod list so I figured the issue was only with my Skyrim. This was until I played other games such as Escape from Tarkov, GTA V, Black OPS III, and a wide variety of far less demanding games. Using Gforce Experience I started monitoring my FPS/99% FPS and found that no matter what I capped my FPS at and no matter the game (even EXTREMLY undemanding games) the 99% FPS would be around half of what I capped it at. I cap it at 60, 99%FPS would hover around 30, I capped it at 30, 99% FPS would hover around 15. Some games felt smoother than others but the issue was persistent. I've tried many fixes such as: DDU and installing many different drivers Got desperate and updated BIOS (thankfully it didn't brick) Changed settings in Nvidia Control Panel Acquired Mcafee and ran the scanner Messed with windows settings and made sure everything was fully updated Made sure Chipset Drivers were up to date Eventually I downloaded GPU-Z to see if this would help me diagnose my issue and in doing so it appears I'm having power issues, here are the results while Heaven was running at max settings: At this point I'm thinking it might be hardware related, though I cross my fingers its something I can fix without having to buy new parts. The computer was built brand new 2 years ago and all the parts should last much longer than that, this is the first time I've had any sort of performance issues. My specs are: Ryzen 5 2600 MSI GeForce GTX 1660 TI VENTUS XS OC EDITION AsRock b450m steel legend mother board T-Force Vulcan DDR4 3000Mhz Ram 1 terabyte nvme m.2 drive (this is where windows is installed) barracuda 2 terabyte hard drive EVGA 650W 80+ Gold power supply If I need to replace a part I'd like to be certain which is causing it so I dont buy a part and have it not fix my issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated and ill gladly answer any questions as soon as I can. I'm starting to go mad with this and would really just like my computer to work properly again.

gtx 780ti I Don't Know if My 500W PSU Will Power A GTX 780TI
Just_Landon posted a topic in Power Supplies
I just bought a GTX 780TI GHZ Edition that I will be setting up soon. I want to put it in my current setup. However, my computer only has a Corsair 500W 80+ Bronze PSU, and I am running a AMD FX-8350. I'm worried that my PSU either won't be able to power both at the same time, or may get overloaded and pop. I can't find a solid answer online. Should I buy a 600W or run the risk, if there is one?- 13 replies

Hi everyone, My computer often shows a notification with : "Battery Low". This notification appears and then disappears almost instantaneously. The problem is : my laptop's always plugged in.... *sad noises* Something else is strange : my computer crashes randomly to a black screen, complete shut down and no restart (unless I start it by myself, pushing the power button).... Thermals are high but not too much, just reaching 90°C (max temp = 100°C) at peek use (Minecraft + Minecraft server [4 players] + Discord + Spotify in background). Can someone help me find what is going on here ? My laptop is a bit old (6 years this November), I don't consider buying a new one for now (I'm gonna go in engineering studies so I'll wait until a school tells me what computer specs to choose). Tell me if you already had this problem and if you could help me. FYI : I already changed the thermal paste (November 2019), I changed from 8GB to 12GB of DDR3 RAM (4GB soldered + 4GB on stick, to 4GB soldered + 8GB on stick so now it is single-channel), I cleaned my computer and removed every bit of dust in it, all my drivers are the latest available, my BIOS is updated to its latest available version too, I already changed my battery once 2 years ago (the original is dead). I really need help. Please consider helping me or just giving me an advice and/or some feedback from your experience.

Hello Everyone! Ever since I updated my windows 10 to 1909 build, whenever I plug in my laptop while gaming. All the games start stuttering and there are frame drops. But as soon as I remove the charger, that is when on battery then the stuttering stops and game-play is smooth. I reinstalled all the drivers and stuffs. One thing that may have helped me is toggling Intel Turbo Boost. I set the maximum processor state to 99%. This is has somewhat stopped the stutters. Any idea anyone, why is this happening? Also, before I didn't have such problems with any games because of power settings. Any insight to this is helpful My specs are i5-8250U, Nvidia MX150 2GB, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD

Hello everyone! I could really do with some help if possible. I recently was on my pc playing a game with a friend when the screen went black. I waited a while and nothing happened. So i pressed the power button once and it shut down. I then went to bed and left it off. Next day i tried booting it up and nothing happened. Checked all the cables etc and everything was ok. The motherboard has a light on to show it's still getting power from the psu. But i don't understand why it wont start. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers

Hi! I'm new to pc gaming so please don't roast for not knowing some things. But I bought a NZXT pc. It has an AMD Ryzen 5 2600, RTX 2060, MSI B450 Tomahawk, Seasonic S12II 620W Bronze, Cryorig Cooling fan, Intel 660p 512GB SSD. Now I recently just got back from a week vacation. And before I left, my PC ran perfectly. No restarting/shut offs. But, since I have been back, it only likes to run Overwatch. I'm a Fortnite player and it will play Fortnite for a good 20 minutes before restarting. And what's weird, is the lights and the fans don't turn off. So I don't believe it's a power issue. And there is a good chance that it's not overheating either. What would make my PC just randomly start doing this? Help?

Iam so sorry if this is not the right place. I have a problem with my PC, and I suspected that its the power supply issue. So I have a PC about 3 years old and I just moved out from my bigger house to a smaller house with lower electric power. For a couple of days in was running just fine, but then I got BSOD. The computer was on, but it didnt produce any sound, it was very quiet, like it wasnt having enough power. My question is, is it possible?

Computer shuts off about 1 minute after booting windows
xenosaga01 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
#1 Hoping you smart people can help me out, I helped a friend build a custom desktop. He picked the components, I helped him assemble and install OS and updates. The System has the following components: nzxt case asrock z270 killer sli/ac Intel core i5-6700K @3.8ghz stock 4.2 turbo Coolermaster Hyper 212 evo cpu cooler Corsair dominator DDR4 2x4gb 2133mhz ram Thermaltake Smart 700Watt 80+ white certified PSU Kingston a400 128gb 2.5” ssd(boot drive) Western digital 1tb 3.5” hdd(storage drive) It has a zotac GeForce gtx 1050ti 4gb It’s running Windows 10 Home 64bit. This system ran perfectly fine for 2 years, no crashes at all. Thermals were perfect. 35-40celsius at idle and 65-70celsius during hard gaming or high load. His system had a blue screen while playing Rust and right before it happened he noticed his ram was almost all being used. So he bought new ram. He chose Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 2x8GB DDR4-3600 ram which is compatible with his motherboard. He installed it himself and upon looking at CPU-Z determined that the ram was still running at 2133MHZ. I came over to help him get the ram running at full speed and was able to achieve that by setting the XMP 2.0 profile and changing it from auto to 3600. It worked fine for 2 days and then he started having really slow boot times and then shortly after loading the desktop the computer powers off. pretty much every day since I’ve been trying to help him, his computer has gotten worse and to the point that when it attempts to load into Windows, after about 1-2 minutes, the system fully shuts off(no warning or blue screen at all) then reboots in about 15 seconds automatically. I reset the motherboard to defaults and the ram back to 2133MHZ and no change. We even tested the ram with memtest86 and it passed all the passes with no errors. We also removed the new ram and put the old ram back in. No change. The computer still cuts out about a minute after loading windows. No errors or blue screens, it’s as if the power switch is switched off. I’m guessing at this point it’s either power supply or motherboard and leaning closer to Power supply. Another thing I noticed is that the CPU voltage was fluctuating right before the system turns off. It was ranging from 0.808v-1.2v. All temps normal. the motherboard has no logs and we can’t boot long enough to see if there are any eventviewer logs but I’m guessing since there are no blue screens that’s it’s more a hardware issue. Please offer me any advice or confirm if my assumptions are correct. My friend has ordered a new PSU to try to see if it is in fact the PSU causing the issue. I don’t think there is any way to test the motherboard. -
Hello I have been dealing with an issue for the past week with my computer randomly loosing power in a weird way. first the displays lose power and go into no signal sleep, then my sound. I am unable to do anything unless i restart it, the weird thing is anything i have connected to usb (Logitech keyboard with lcd screen and rgb, Razer Mouse, Razer firefly mousepad) will stay on but not respond. I have removed the PSU and cleaned it, I have checked all connections and cleaned everything else. i have ran Furmark, intel cpu stress test, Memory checker and a couple others i also ran a ton of virus scans (to be thorough) and it is still doing it. I have checked the Event Viewer and it shows this. My Samsung S27D390H PLS 27 inch LED HDMI Monitor suddenly started turning itself off and on constantly (only stopping when I manage to press the power button when it is on.) Haven't had chance to take it to my local computer shop to be looked at and thought I should post something here to see if anyone else has had similar issues and found any solutions. Plugged the monitor back in after not using it for a while and it worked fine for maybe an hour and then suddenly started to turn itself off and on again. It doesn't seem to be overheating, caused by any movement or any loose connections. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I just installed a fx-8350 on a ga-990fxa-ud5 and it seems to be stuck at 50 watt useage. This is from viewing it under HWmonitor, even under full load the system will only go to about 56 watts and will freeze. The mb is revision 3.0 and is useing bios version FB as the latest FC caused issues so I reverted back, though the current version does support the cpu. Also managed to start this topic with just hello with trusty tab and enter Any help would be appreciated. Apart from cpu my system build hasn't changed and is on my profile. System is liquid cooled and running very cool.

For quite a while my pc has been shutting itself down when I'm playing games. My initial thought was that my power supply was not strong enough to power my pc, but I read somewhere that I might have 2 audio drivers which could cause my pc to crash, which I did. I fixed it and for a while it worked fine. Then a few weeks later, it started shutting down again and I'm not confident that it's a power issue. Help? Hi all, I just finished building a new rig for myself and, for some reason, it keeps turning itself off and then turning back on seconds later. Only to have the issue immediately afterwards. I've uploaded a video to YouTube here that shows the issue. The components in the rig are a Core i7-5820K, Corsair H100i cooler, Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard, 16GB (4x4GB) of Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM, Asus R9 290 Direct CU II OC, Corsair AX860 PSU, Intel 730 Series 240 GB SSD, and a Carbide Air 540 case. Before this issue happened, the CPU managed high 20s in idle and high 50s under full load with Prime95. Interestingly this problem was temporarily fixed when I moved it to another room, reseated the RAM, and tried using Windows 8.1 on the machine there...but it started happening again when I moved it back to my room. I then figured it might be a problem with the power in my room, so I moved it back to the other room again (which is where I filmed the video linked above) only to have it keep suffering from the same issue. I figure it might be either the motherboard or PSU based on a quick Google search, but the fact that the RAM reseating made it work before (at least temporarily) is making me scratch my head. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for the help. EDIT: I should note that the BIOS in stock settings, nothing is overclocked. The BIOS is also on the latest version Asus provides.

I recently upgraded my 64-bit win7 machine to win8 (via download upgrade) and got a new UPS (CyberPower CP1500AVRLCD Intelligent LCD UPS 1500VA 900W AVR Mini-Tower). Other than that, not much has changed in my system for some time. As of late, my computer will periodically stutter, both under load and not, and the audio will buzz/stutter as well. If no audio is playing the speakers will just buzz a little and the cursor will skip. RealTemp shows no CPU heating problem under load with Prime95, CPU usage does not spike either with the issue is occuring. Could it be the new UPS or a bad power supply?
