I've been browsing for a few peripherals, namely charging stations/bricks. I'm in Australia: When buying a product from a company based in a region outside your own, let's use Ugreen as an example which is a company that doesn't have AUS/Oceania as a region option. Will the power plug I'm sent be a US one, or is it standard to send the relivant plug from the region the order was placed from? My question is particularly aimed at products like wall chargers where the plug is actually a part of the product which leaves no option to swap out the power cable like you would do with a HUB/Dock.

I have the MSI A850GF, still under warranty. The connector at the back is having some bad contact. The cable fits firmly, but once a day / couple days my pc turns off because of it. When it happens, if I play a bit with the cable the pc will turn on without me pressing power. I'm not using the cable that came with it, (different outlet format, no adapters) but I have 2 cheap alternative cables. 10A, 0.75mm. It happens the same to both. My question: Is there anything else I should do? I really don't want to RMA since I'll probably be without my work pc for at least a couple weeks. Do I buy yet another cable? Isn't there something else I can try for the bad contact? My pc is still usable like this for now but I'm thinking this might give me trouble later, like data loss.

Hi there, I've just bought an RTX 3080 TI from marketplace and the person gave me his power cable (top) that came with his power supply and I realized it doesn't fit with my power supply since there are different shapes. I used my old power cable for my GTX 1060 6GB, but there's 1 empty hole. I'm not sure what are the difference, but I'm kind of worried that the RTX 3080TI require all 8 holes to function correctly. Do I need to get a new Power Supply for the right pinned cable or why are there differences? Also, since my new GPU require 2x 8pins, I've also heard that you should use 1 power cable for each 8pins for even power. Is that true? Thank you.

I imagine that this question is somewhat difficult to answer, or even unusual, but it is something that makes me quite curious. Do any large manufacturers like Channel Well Technology, Compucase and Andyson or companies like Sea Sonic (also a manufacturer), Corsair and Antec work with this type of cabling? Silicone rubber (SR) cables are usually more flexible than polyvinyl chloride (PVC) ones and have advantages such as non-melting, halogen-free, although they are more expensive. They could be a good alternative to custom cables, coming from the own manufacturer, having good security (flame-retardant) and compliance with some requirements (halogen-free). Although I imagine the answer is simple: any increase in cost is fatal and no manufacturer works with this material (for power supply cables).

Hey guys I just ran into a problem today, my friend brought a 2nd hand evga gtx 980 classified without knowing that it needs 8x8x6 pcie power cables and he doesn't have that, his non-modular power supply only has a 6x2 single power cable for the GPU so I was wondering if I can get 2 8pin Y splitters for the power cables so that it can turn the 6x2 to a 8x8x8. Now the question is, is it dangerous? Will there be enough power coming through the single cable? I'll list the specs of my psu I know it's a bad psu but I just want to know will it work? And what if it does what are the long term side effects? Thank you guys!

This might sound like a dumb question but are power supply cables the same? Let me explain, So today I heard my cpu power cable spark and immediately shut everything down, one end of the pin was melted, maybe the cable end was loose (My pc is alright). This cable was rated at 9amp 240V So now I have 3 power cables one that came with my power supply but won't work idk the reason. Maybe cause it has European standards and is rated at 13amp 250v I really don't know ( it has some sort of fuse built into it) The other cable is the one that came with my monitor which is rated at 10amp 240v and works perfectly fine for my monitor. The last one is from my previous power supply which is rated at 9amp 240v. So I was wondering If I could switch my monitors cable as my cpus power cable and use my old psu's cable for my monitor. Or is this an horrible idea?

Hi, I'm getting this weird issue. Does cold affect the power cable restricting the PC to Turn on? This is happening for the second time, the first time I simply replaced the power cable (a week ago). but this time again, when I start my computer in the morning, it does NOT turn on. If I change the power cable to the new one it works and after that, if I put the old power cable back, it starts working. Power Supply is Gigabyte P550B 80 PLUS Bronze Certified 550W Power Supply. (under warranty)

Hey I appreciate this is a super basic question but my wife could use some advice. My wife works in a school and they are missing a power cable for the lighting setup in their hall, if it was my kit I would just say buy a power cord that matches the spec and hope for the best but they won't be able to replace it all if things where to go caput. I have posted a pic of the lighting board. Any advice on things to watch out for or real certified brands would be great as Amazon can be a nightmare for cheap knock offs that don't meet UK/EU safety specs.

I have the ARESGAME Power Supply 600W 80+ Bronze Certified PSU (AGW600) - which I purchased here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08R1NK176/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 But I do not have the power cable that came with the original box. Is it safe to use a power cable from another brand? I have two extra EVGA power cables that both say 10A 125V Will is be safe to use one of these cables for the ARESGAME power supply? Or are there risks?

Quick question here: So im thinking on buying a Seasonic Focus Gold GX 1000W Full Modular PSU. My Motherboard has 8 + 4 pin connector to power the CPU. Now I know one of the cables go 8 in the motherboard and 8 in the PSU. The question is the 4 pin connector. They can split in 4 so in the motherboard end It's fine, but when on the PSU end is an 8 Pin connector. My dumb question is should I connect the 8 PIN on the PSU to power the 4 pin in the motherboard? Because splitting it in two and connecting 4 on the power supply in an 8 pin slot doesn't make sense ! Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question, Im just afraid of screwing things when I'm not 100% sure.

Hi PC pals, newly registered here, been watching the channel for years Planning a new build and got a few custom braided cables made for my keyboard and other peripherals, but finding it impossible to get a nice looking braided C13 cable for my PSU. I know that @CableMod do braided power cords like the ModFlex but they seem to be sold out of UK versions right now. Would prefer something a bit more fancy, but I don't mind if it's plain white or something, would just like a cable that's not a plain black plastic one. The only ones I can find right now are audiophile versions which are astronomically expensive. Any help would be appreciated!

Hey everyone, I was watching some LTT videos in preparation for my first build, and I totally fell in love with ... a power cable Any idea where I can purchase this? I absolutely love it because it looks so heavy duty! I looked for braided power cord on Google and Amazon, but I cannot find anything that looks like this, so any help would be highly appreciated!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7MYOpFONCU&feature=youtu.be&t=2112 Thank you!

Hey guys, I was wondering what type of power cable or socket (such as IEC) the Acer predator XB241H uses. I ask this because I live in Australia and plan to get this monitor shipped from Amazon, and us here use different plugs so I would have to buy an extension. Thanks.

I need a new power cable for my power supply because the old one is glitching. My question is what are those cables called(the one from the wall to the power supply) and are all of those power cables the same.

Inherited two normal monitors, however they don't have power cables. Where can I find some power cables to use them that aren't too expensive? The back of the monitor reads 19V 2.0A as in the images attached.

I'm trying to buy a monitor, but the one I found online does not include a power cable. Does it use the 3 prong power cable as shown in the picture? I researched but I couldn't find out which one it uses so I'm turning to you guys. The model number that was listed is Hp Compaq L220W. Thanks.

Im the kind of guy who takes his laptop charger wherever he takes his laptop, but I find the standard laptop power cable very bulky; Anyone know of a plug adapter with these two plugs that has basically 0 length? If not I might mod something myself with hot glue and solder...

I wanted to get new sleeved cables for my rig and I was wondering if anyone can give me the name of the PCI-E power cable for my graphics card. The Asus 1080 Strix needs 8 pin and a 6 pin connector. I have seen plenty of 8 pin to dual 6+2 Pin cables,... but then I'll just have a dangling 2 pin connector. Worst comes to worse, I'll just get an 8 pin and 6 pin sleeved extender, but I would rather just buy the direct cable since I am space limited in my ITX case. PSU: EVGA 650W Supernova P2 Graphics Card: Asus 1080 Strix Case: NZXT Manta

I've an MSI R9 390 8GB. I also have a Corsair 850W PSU, with 70a on the +12v rail. It claims it's rated for SLI/Crossfire, but only has two PCI-e cable ports, and runs two 6+2 pins on each cable. Is it safe, and/or reasonable, to run my R9 390 off a single cable, using the 6pin and 6+2pin from the same cable?

Heya, so I just pulled an Amiga CD 32 literally out of a trashcan while taking a walk. The metal parts look rusty as hell, but all the connectors seem fine, the PCB (from what I could see) looks okay... but I don't have a power cable. See pic attached. I'm also not all that good with electronics (my brother is okay, though), but DYIing one seems tricky given the two different positive voltages... Does anyone know where I may be lucky and find one (in Germany if possible)? Don't want to spend a fortune, because it'd really be more of a let's-try-this thing. I don't expect this to work. And if it doesn't, I'll take it apart, shove either an ITX board or (more likely) a Ras Pi in there to have a cool little thing. Oh yeah, also, does anyone know what's that weird PCB connector that you can access at the back? I assum Cheers, John

Hello folks, I'm trying my first adventures on sleeving power cables. The thing is I have an OCZ ZX850W which have only 8pin exits, and a HD7950 with two 6pin connector. Until deciding on sleeving my power cables that came with the PSU I had no problem with the +2pin hanging out of the 6pin, but now I've decide to get rid of them on behalf of my rig good looks. My question is: can I just not connect the 2 cables coming out of the 8pin side on to the +2pin? PS.: Sorry for the not resized pics.

How do I know if it is okay to use?
