Hello everyone! I just bought the latest Anker 737 PowerBank (24k/140W) and when I connected it (using the cable it came with, capable of 140W) to my Asus ROG Strix G713QM-ES94 to the USB-C PD port (in the back), it just goes to 9 W and stops, and goes up to 9 W and stops (PC (Armoury Crate) shows a notification that it is charging, and stops, charging and stops), in an infinte loop... I did use the old cable from the previous Anker power bank (26800 PD 45w) I had and it goes up to ~58.5w sustained. Both cables are Anker, they came with their respective power banks. I don't have another PD device capable of 100W or more, but when I charge the power bank with the 140W cable, it charges at around ~89W (using an Anker GaNPrime 120W, capable of 100W in total on any of the 2 USB-C)... I have no idea if I have a driver issue, or what is going on... I did try connecting the computer to the GaNPrime 120W charger and it worked perfectly fine (no idea at what rate it is being charged at). I did also return the power bank for a new one; Anker and I thinking it could be defective, but the same thing happened. I also tried using the old power bank with the new cable and it did work out of the box (of course it is slow but I did not have this weird loop). I also tried connecting the power bank when the notebook is off and it charges at ~30W but goes down to 0w (same loop, just delivers more power). What can I do? Is this a driver issue? (everything is up-to-date, using Windows 11) I have tried uninstalling the "battery" driver that shows up on windows (also by recommendation of ASUS on one of theirs FAQ pages) but still the same issue... Thanks anyone for any insights!

Hello Tech aficionados! I'm after recommendations on a decent beefy power bank. I feel its time to retire my existing Anker relic. Are anker still the way to go do you reckon or are there some other brands I should check out? Thanks in advance! -J

Hi all, Question for all the electricians out here : the cable and/or power brick of my monitor fried so it's just not working anymore. The output rating on it is 18V-20V @ 1.5A-2.5A. I have a cable and power brick from an old laptop that has the following output rating : 19V @ 3.42A. The voltage is within the range but the amperes are a bit higher (they are both from Acer). I'm wondering if there would be a seroius risk to fry the actual monitor. It's a farely basic monitor but i'd rather buy a 20$ cable than a 200$ monitor. Any tips and input would be appreciated. Thanks all.

Hey all. My brother's looking for a power bank for his phone etc., and I offered to get him one. He wants something with 20,000mAh+ which has USB C. The first one he pointed me to was this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0895P2M5M/ Trouble is, it's one of those generic products made by a reseller and then listed on Amazon under a dozen different "manufacturers", and looking for the model name -- HX160S4 -- reveals quite a few poor reviews, with things like it dying after only a few months, things like that. I found an alternative from a good brand (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RPNHZDC/), however I'm still not settled on what to get. The solar charging part is not necessary, only a bonus -- like I said, the requirements are a high capacity and USB C, hence I also considered something from Anker: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07S829LBX/ (though my brother has had a poor experience with Anker previously). Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hey guys, I recently heard of some rumors i had never heard before which is: That using a power bank can damage and kill your Smartphone's battery. Does anyone know if that's true or not, specially if you are using a good quality power bank that has rated voltage and amperage for your smartphone ??

Hey guys. I am going on holiday next week and need a portable power bank for my phone. Any recommendations on a good one?

I recently acquired an LD Systems HPA1 portable amplifier which happens to use 9V Block batteries. I can't be bothered buying new ones all the time, so I figured I'd set it up with a rechargeable battery inside and a battery bank to extend its time, but I don't seem to find any suitable ones. Aukey has several power banks with Qualcomm's QuickCharge ability, which can output 9V, but doesn't that require a QuickCharge certified device to work? And I'm not sure if it matters, but the power-in should be 9V DC to be specific. Should I go with a 9V DC adapter that I plug into the wall, carrying around a couple spare 9V batteries or should I get a power bank?

Hello all! Recently I purchased a Cygnett ChargeUp Pro USB-C Power Bank to charge my laptop. I did so only after extensive research, and contacting Cygnett customer support to see if the Power Bank would work with my laptop first. As previously mentioned in my original thread, this Power Bank meets the charge speed requirements of 45W (20V, 2.25A), and of the three Power Banks that DO meet these requirements, this one provides the most mAh/$. Cygnett confirmed that their Power Bank will meet the charging requirement for my Razer Blade Stealth, at least on paper. Unfortunately, the Power Bank is not charging my laptop, and their customer support center is closed until Monday in Australia, and I am forced to seek assistance elsewhere. Here is the issue that I am experiencing with the Cygnett ChargeUp Pro. There seems to be an issue with device driver recognition. This isn’t an issue when I plug my laptop into the wall; the laptop just charges. I am using a Type C to Type C connector to connect my laptop to the Power Bank. My Power Delivery GrandStar charger powers my laptop just fine; it may not be an issue of Power Delivery tech compatibility. Power Delivery (PD) is a circuitry technology that, like Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, identifies necessary Wattage to send to a connected device to prevent over-volting. When I plug in my Cygnett Power Bank to my laptop it is recognized as a USB device, not a charger. “USB Root Hub (USB 3.0)” pops up and is removable; I have the option to “eject this device”. Approximately 20 seconds later, the recognized USB device ejects itself. My Power Bank is fully charged. I even charged it with a Power Delivery charger. Here is a link to the Power Delivery charger that I purchased. Again, it charges both the laptop and the Power Bank. https://www.amazon.com/USB-Type-C-Wall-Charger-Grandstar/dp/B06XR9JBM8

macbook Innergie Pocket Cell C for Macbook Pro 2016 Non-touch?

Anyone using this powerbank for their Macbook Pros? http://www.myinnergie.com/us/product/113 Will it degrade my battery faster due to lower Watt-hour rating? -
I am looking for a portable charger which is able to charge the early 2015 Macbook Pro. I have done some research and there are very little power banks which are capable of doing this. Every single one has a price tag of at least £100/$130. Any suggestion on a cheaper alternative to a portable charger for a Macbook Pro?

Hi! I use a GoPro for recording long trips and I plan to operate it without a battery, connected to a charger powered by my car's lighter socket. The problem is that without a battery loss of power would mean that the recording would stop. I'm thinking of using a pass-through power bank as a back up power supply, which of course is not its ideal type of use. Is there any other solution that can act as a UPS device for the camera, except a pass-through power bank?

I have always heard that I should charge phones with it's own charger, so it provide the correct amount of power that it's battery needs. But what about power banks? I have a 20800 mAh Power Bank from Ambrane (Link). It says output power: 5V/2.1A, 5V/1A :5V/2.1A (Copied from the site). So does power banks or my power bank provide correct amount of power, or it provides low power so no phone gets over volted? idk

I know that its been said before in an episode that LTT doesn't review power banks, because realistically a battery is a battery one way or another, and I certainly agree! From one to another battery banks are largely the same sorta thing with a little change in how much juice they actually have and how much they cost. However I also know that LTT loves to go overboard! I thought to myself just on a whim after I had visited the power tools section of my friendly neighbourhood hardware store picking up a cordless jigsaw and the enormous battery it comes with that 'this battery is bigger than the one in my old gaming laptop'. I'm sure wherever you are in the world you've seen these newfangled 'universal cordless tool systems' of which dozens of different tools in a range are designed to fit the same battery shape. The range which I bought from is the Ryobi One+ system http://www.ryobi.com.au/power-tools/products/list/family/one-plus which is an Australian exclusive brand but DeWALT RX18V series is basically the same thing. Batteries in the 18V One+ range begin at a meagre 1.3Ah and scale all the way up to a massive 5.0Ah capacity! Like many similar cordless power tool systems they also have a large number of modules that have more 'utility' purposes like radios, torches, pumps. shop lights and fans. What really prompted me to think about this is a USB charge adapter module for the One+ system which allows you to charge USB devices from the enormous power tool battery pack, effectively turning those huge power tool batteries into power banks for your phone or tablet! http://www.ryobi.com.au/products/details/18v-one-usb-power-adapter I try to make my idea a little more interesting with a bit of story time because there isn't really any underlying point to my thoughts here. I'm not even sure anyone here would care about the prospect of giant power banks but everyone I've spoken to about it thinks its an epic idea! Who would need such a massive power bank? The idea in my head just seemed 'LTT silly'. Has this idea crossed someone elces mind? Maybe someone out there actually might need a huge power bank. The website says 6 full phone charges with a 5Ah cell. I'm not even sure that's true, that seems like a whole lot of zap! You could power plenty of stuff with just a couple of these.

I have an Acer Predator Helios 300 15.6''. I have already undervolted it, but I am looking for a power bank to get a bit more juice for watching movies while traveling. I've seen power banks like this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XJ31XZR/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B06XJ31XZR&linkId=0fe7d8be82aa986ae29c11571c240a28&tag=linus21-20 (and some for a bit cheaper), but I can't seem to find any affordable power banks that can power my laptop (power adaptor Input: 100-240 V ~ 2.34 A 50-60 Hz Output:19.5V 9.23A). Is it possible to buy a laptop battery such as this one http://www.love-battery.com/product_detail.asp?id=10912 , and use it as an external battery pack? (and if so how)

Hey, so to start I have had my blade for a while and I love it, the biggest problem I have had is it's terrible battery life. I can pull 4 hours if I only have like one tab of edge open. Its ridiculous. So I wanted a portable battery bank to charge it. But the razer power bank is only 12,000 mah and its $140. So I have been looking for other options, I found the imuto power bank: (I chose this one because it was light, I know I could find a heavier more powerful one.) https://www.amazon.com/20100mah-Portable-Delivery-External-Type-C/dp/B075NXR2T4 it has power delivery 2.0 at 20v 2.25 amps (45 watts) which is what the blade runs at. I have also bought a compatible usb type c cable with power delivery: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0756QGTVQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but when I plug it in I hear the usb sound like when you plug in a flash drive. How do I solve this? I have checked and the battery bank charges my phone over usb type a and a Nintendo switch over type C. Does razer have a proprietary control over what power bank you can use? Is there a fix so that I can use this power bank? I have not seen a lot of threads about the stealth and power banks, so I feel like I'm treading in new territory.

Why does Razer sell a 12,800 mAH power bank for $150 when there are competitors sells similar power banks for ~$30 (like this one). Is there something special about it or is this just Razer being Razer?

Hello guys, So a while back I got this generic power bank when I got gifted clothes. I know it to get hot while charging and it hasn't been worrying me but I just now noticed something else. When my power bank is about to die and my phone is below 90% (trickle charging point I believe), it get really really hot. Usually it gets fairly warm but right when it's about to go flat it gets a lot hotter, is this normal? If it's a red flag to stop using that thing let me know please I'll be grateful Thanks

Hello everyone, I have a Oneplus 3 and a Xiaomi Notebook Air (refreshed, with the 7th gen i5). I was wondering about the devices' chargers intercompatibility and what power bank to buy: the Oneplus charger has an output of 5V 4A, the Xiaomi has 5V 2A, 12V 2A, 9V 2A, 15V 3A, 20V 3.25A. So, can I charge one with the other's charger and vice versa? I've read stuff about USB C power delivery standards, but I didn't understand much about them, so... How exactly does it work? Also, I've found this AUKEY 26500mAh power bank with USB C (5V 3A, 9V 2A, 12V 2A, 14,5V 2A) but even though some outputs are the same as the Xiaomi charger I'm not sure it will be capable of charging it (I've read stuff about the XPS laptops needing 45W output to be charged). So... ELI5 how charging and USB C power delivery work? Thank you for your help

Hi all, I'm looking at getting a portable power bank to recharge my laptop whilst away from the mains. I currently have a MSI ge72 6qd but am looking to upgrade "soonish" to a MSI GS75 or Razerblade Pro 17. Any advice on how many watts I'd need to get a decent rate of recharge / life extension? Currently looking at something like: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07WV2WB9T/?coliid=I3IP1XTPORHSN0&colid=2EALSMIBF7KMQ&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Hello everybody, I have some weird issue with my 10,000mAh power bank's 2.1A output. My tiny 2,000mAh power bank can charge my tablet with 1A (it's quite fast and the bat gets considerably hot), but the larger bank's 2.1A port charges it slower or the tablet is discharging while I use it. The little one is some rebranded one, which I got as promotional gift and the large one is Adata PV150. I have tried different cables, but with the same result. I think the Adata has its battery in good state, because it's new and I didn't notice capacity issues. Only the slowness is killing me If it matters, the tablet is a really basic Windows tablet, which came with a 2A charger, that works OK and I don't think it has some special wiring.
