Hi All! I recently built my own PC. The configuration can be found at this link: everything has been going fine for the past 2 months but I just went to my PC and it won’t post. Nothing shows on the monitor (I’ve tried a second monitor). There are no warning lights on the motherboard, the GPU fans spin when first turning it on, I’ve reseated the GPU and the RAM and checked all cables even though the PC hasn’t been moved since completing the build so nothing has changed there. Im wondering if anybody can give me any further troubleshooting steps before I take it to a shop. Thanks!

Hi everybody, I got myself an ASUS ROG STRIX X570-I-motherboard. I plugged everything in correctly and made sure that the setup is right, however, when I turn the PC on, the RGB-lights do flash, while the CPU-fan doesn't spin at all and I get no picture at all. Strangely, even the POST LEDs do not light up, so I can't use them for troubleshooting. I also tried it with two different CPUs (Ryzen 3 2200g and Ryzen 7 5700g) but the results were the same, unfortunately. Currently, only one RAM-stick, my PSU, the M.2-SSD with Windows 10 already installed and the CPU-fan are connected to the motherboard. I tried to keep it to a bare minimum, but still, nothing boots or even the BIOS posts. I get nothing at all. If anybody has a suggestion on what to do, I would be really glad. I appreciate every bit of advice.

Hi guys, The white Q LED (VGA) will stay on only after a cold boot. If I just restart the PC, it goes through the normal checks and all the LED's go off (as they should). Other than that, the computer works fine. Everything shows up and works as it should. I have reseated the GPU and the Memory a few times. nothing helps. Do you guys have any fixes or should I be concerned at all? Thanks.

Hello guys, I recently bought a Ryzen 5 1600 AF alongside a used GTX 780 to update my budget study/light gaming rig from the Ryzen 3200G APU I had before. Quick specs (more system info at the bottom of the post): Mobo: ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 - BIOS version: P3.70 (https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B450M-HDV R4.0/index.asp#CPU you can see the 1600AF is supported, at the end of the list) CPU: Ryzen 5 1600AF (YD1600BBAFBOX) RAM: 2x8GB G.Skill Ripjaws 4 DDR4-2400 GPU: Gigabyte GTX 780 Windforce 3GB PSU: Be Quiet! Pure Power 10 600W Sadly the system just won't boot/post anything no matter what I try, which to this point was: Updated the motherboard (Asrock B450M-HDV R4.0) to the latest BIOS (p3.70) that should support the 1600 AF Used just one RAM stick in both (2) slots Checked all cables: CPU power cable, CPU fan cable, GPU power cable, HDMI connected to GPU Cleared CMOS (jumpers & battery) Returned the 1600AF to the shop and received a new one, still doesn't post :I Tried on a different monitor with a different HDMI cable Checked on BeQuiet site if the PSU is powerful enough for the system (it is, 600W) The same system runs perfectly using the Athlon 200GE I bought to update the BIOS and it's using the discrete GPU (GTX 780). This isn't my first build (something like the 7th) and I have no idea what's wrong. This should work, right? I'm considering trying to ask the shop if I could switch the AF with a Ryzen 3100, although the 1600 AF really was more interesting for me as I'm studying computer science and always compiling programs. Any help is greatly appreciated! I have an MSI H110M -Pro-D with an I7-7700K Processor, and Team Elite Plus 8GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model TPD48GM2400HC1601, currently no GPU(but have tested with a gpu still no psot), OK so my issue is whenever I attempt to turn on the system i get not screen flash and no post there will be a video file attached that will show the debugger leds on post attempt. the fan for the cpu cooler spins up upon boot so i am pretty sure it is not an power issue and am not sure if it is an issue with RAM compatibility or the CPU. 1befdd93352822e167ea997e260f383b.mp4

Okay, so I had just gotten the time to put my computer together and I started by taking out my new b350 tomahawk from MSI and putting in my ryzen 5 1400 that I got on combo with it on Newegg that shipped on the 15th five days after the release of bios version 1.3 meaning that they should be compatible,so I put it in then I put my corsair lpx 3000mhz memory in then my rx480 nitro+OC( all of this is done outside the case) and then I tried to post it to make sure everything was in good shape( I had everything plugged in at this point) when I used my screwdriver to short the power pins the LEDs came on on the GPU and board and all the fans come on also the CPU led comes on for about 5 seconds then turns off then after about 10 seconds the GPU light comes on and the boot light come on( the boot light coming on is to be expected) the GPU light means that not igraphics were detected and that I need to install a GPU which I had and the VGA light said was off and connected there were no beeps after that I pulled the card out and tried to boot again to make sure the speaker was not broken or something there was a long beep and two short meaning i needed to put in a graphics card I promptly did and tried post again to no avail I am going to go buy a DVI-d cable to see if that is the problem if not I will take it into a micro center at some point and see if they can update the bios besides that I was wondering if any of you had any ideas on how to fix this because I am not sure on any other courses of action

Hi, I'm currently building a PC right now and i have the RAM (16GB 2x8 sticks DDR4), CPU (Intel core i7 6700k), PSU (EVGA 750W) installed and i'm trying to see if my system will post to test the ram to make sure it's reliable and my system isn't sending a signal to my monitor. Motherboard is turning on perfectly fine CPU fan is spinning and i have the main power cable plugged into the motherboard (the long one) but there is no signal going to my monitor from the on board graphics. The system is not in the case yet the SSD and Graphics card is coming in tomorrow. trying to make sure everything works before i put it into my case. This is my link to everything i bought for my pc http://a.co/6p33bXc

Okay so I bought a fx 3800 recently a backup gpu for my main pc with an asrock x58 extreme 3. when i inserted the card in the pc wouldn't even post. I tried multiple pcie slots, no post. I inserted my r9 270x back in and it was working fine. Then i took out an old dell core 2 duo pc and inserted the card in that. it's working perfectly fine. what could be the problem? aren't pcie graphics cards supposed to be universally compatible?

hey there, so I recently got a GIGABYTE 970A-DS3P motherboard, and an AMD FX 4100 cpu. while researching I found that they should be compatible, but no matter what I do I can't get the system to post. some other forums say that while "compatible" these two don't work together. so I was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions on what my best options are. thanks. P.S please keep in mind that my budget is really tight.

So, i recently got to service another Toshiba laptop and after cleaning it and repasting it (installing a caddy for an aditional HDD and an SSD) i powered up everything worked, powered down, and ive had forgotten to install something when i went to power it on again it was dead fan turns on, drive spins, odd moves (when connected) battery charges, BUT no Post, no image at all, and keyboard doesnt work (not even backlight) this is the 2nd toshiba ive had this happen Satellite S75DT A7330 and a Qosmio X70A both have exactly the same problem, is it possible that they just randomly died? ive serviced laptops and desktops for 10 years now, and this is a first Both Toshibas Both exactly same problem

So it's been a few years since I have been on this forum but here I am again needing help. First off my setup is this. MSI Z97 GD65 mobo AMD R9 290 Tri-X GPau EVGA 750G2 PSU HyperX savege RAM (forget size and speed) i5 4690k CPU Ok so my rig has been running just fine but lately as am gaming the screen cuts off the sound remains but that's all. (Input via controler or keyboard does nothing) and the computer basically stops working though it remains on. I restart and nothing happens. The screen dose not come on and the computer won't boot. The final post code is A0 (I think) and changes to 04. Is this as I think, a GPU issue? I really need help with this am at my wit's end with it. I don't want to plow money at it unless I know what's wrong and I just can't figure it out. The GPU temps are low as I have the fan speed high ish most of the time. The noise doesn't bother me.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XLRyV6 , I have recently installed all parts in this list but every time I press the power button it gets stuck in a loop of powering on and off, (as indicated by the fans and LEDs) Here is a link to a video of the issue ( Note the GPU is a 750 ti and is completely functional, it is just installed as I was testing to see if it would help post. Also all plugged In fans are functioning.) So far I have reset the bios by removing the on board battery for 10 mins and have tried all 4 ram slots, none of this has fixed the problem. Any help is appreciated

Hello guys was wondering if you would be able to help me. I was playing FFXV a couple of days ago and noticed that my FPS began to to drop rapidly. I exited the game and checked my temps and CPUz to see if anything stood out as not working or abnormal but all seemed okay. I decided to turn my PC off to give it a break and went on my jollies, when I came back and tried to turn it on it refused to post and hasn't since. Since then I have tried: Swapping plug sockets and trying again. Trying different power cables Booting with the one stick of RAM and both sticks in different slots Removed the CMOS battery Resetting the CMOS Booting without graphics card Removing and reattatching all cables coming from power supply at both sides My current specs are: CPU: Ryzen 7 GPU: GTX1080ti MOBO: AORUS AX370 - Gaming K5 PSU: Superflower Leaded Gold 650w RAM: TForce Vulcan (Two 8GB sticks) OS: Windows 10 Cooler: Corsair AIO A basic description of what happens is: I turn the power on, all of the fans kick in on cooler, GPU, power supply and case and all of the LEDs turn on. After about ten seconds though the GPU LED will flash off and then on again. Almost as if the machine is caught in a loop. After further examination I've seen that on my MOBO the red CPU boot light lights up and the resetting happens when it's flicks onto the DRAM. It only does it for a second or so but it moves across to the DRAM light then back to CPU (this ties in with the GPU LED going off - I can provide a video if helpful!) After noticing this I plugged in a MOBO speaker and currently get no beeps when starting the machine - however if I remove my RAM I get the three beeps that suggests that RAM is missing and is leading me to believe that I've got two sticks of faulty RAM and not a fried motherboard. Do you guys have any more suggestions for me to try before I buy a new stick of RAM for testing? Thanks!

Hello! I bought a new GPU today and when i put it in my system i hear a wierd sound from the piezzo buzzer on my mobo. I don't have a DVI cable so i can't see what is going on. I tried googling and found people with same problem, but everywhere they talked about legacy bios or boot (i don't remember which one). My mobo: Asus P8H61-M LX3 R2.0 GPU: GTX 1050 P.S When i swapped GTX 1050 with my old GPU ( gt 610 ) it worked perfectly fine.

So I have a Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 motherboard and have recently bought a AMD FX 8350 CPU and now my motherboard is not posting anything. My screen is completely blank and I've tried starting the Advanced mode of the BIOS but I've tried every button to load that up and my screen is completely blank. I'm trying to update the BIOS but can't without seeing things on screen

The other day I bought a DL360 G5 server, so I could finally host some game servers and experiment with other features a home server can offer. Now I'm sitting here with a problem, the machine turns on, the fans go to full 100% speed and then turn down, which means it does some posting at least. My monitor, connected through VGA, however says it's an invalid input signal and refuses to show me anything. Is there any way I can see what the machine is doing? The monitor works, it does run on my other comuter The server does some sort of posting, because else the fans would get stuck at 100% The server gives 2 "beep" codes after ~1 minute, 1 long and 2 short and then 2 short. If any more info is needed, feel free to ask me. I have already tried switching system switches 2 and 5 on, to force default settings and not requiring a password. All your help is greatly appreciated! EDIT: I put new thermal paste on the CPU and now I'm only stuck with 1 beep code, 2 short beeps, which could even be explained by the lack of a DVD drive. I can not enter the iLo for some reason, even after figuring out what the IP would be, I just get a blank page. The monitor does work as I've just tested it on a laptop. It seems like we have a busted iGPU here, and the previous owner offered to hook me up with a replacement unit. Thanks for all your help! EDIT2: The grand finale... The server is fine, I just wasted 15$ on gas money to find out that the monitor was the sneaky bad guy... It worked on my laptop, but NOT on the server. When I took the server back to the original owner his monitor showed a screen, boot sequence and no errors, the 2 mysterious beeps after one minute are not the lack of any components or broken components, it means it has reached the end of the boot sequence. I want to hulk smash this deceiving monitor now, but unfortunately it's my neighbor's, so I'll politely hulk smash him instead.

So I have had an ongoing problem my gaming PC before. I have two 4gb sticks of RAM in it, but when I look at my system hardware through my software, it says I only have 4gb total. When I try to troubleshoot and switch my RAM sticks around, my PC simply wont post. It turns on and all the fans work, but I get no output through HDMI or USB. I have solved this before by basically taking everything apart and putting it back together, But i was hoping to skip this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mobo: Asus z87-A RAM: Ripjaws DDR3 8gb(2x4gb)
