  1. Hi chat! Let's preface with my build specs CPU: Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX Motherboard: Asus Rog Zenith Extreme TR4 RAM: G. Skill Trident Neo 3000MHz 32GB C16 (not on the QVL but not my main concern) PSU: EVGA SUPANOVA 1300 G2 BIOS: 2601 (Most current) I've got a unique problem. I've been having startup issues with my pc ever since I got a new CPU. My current build is listed up above, and I've got another ram kit (G.Skill Ripjaws 2800MHz DDR4 32GB C16), unfortunately not on QVL either. However that's not my main concern, I believe there is a damaged or unstable contact pad on the middle section of the CPU, which I'll show. When I do power on, the DRAM error lights up, and the Q code cycles until it hits 00 and says detect memory. Switching to each recommended slot layout does nothing to change it. Just wondering if the cpu needs replacing or if it's just a ram issue.
  2. REMINDER: this thread is not to ask questions about your PC. Please create a NEW thread if you still have issues after going through this thread. So, you've put together your brand new, shining rig. You plug in the power cord and push the button. Nothing happens. What now? The answer depends on what is happening: The machine doesn't do anything. No beeps, LEDs or spinning fans. Check if your power cable is firmly plugged in on both ends (you would be surprised how many issues this resolves) Check if the power supply (PSU) has a button to cut the power to the machine. Check if this button is in the position denoted with ON or I Check if EVERY power cable is plugged in securely, reseat if necessary. Check if the power button is installed correctly (consult your motherboard manual) Try shorting out the pins you connect the power button to manually. If this powers on your system, you have a faulty power button. Check with a device of which you know that it works if the power outlet you're using is actually providing power. If this hasn't solved the problem, check if your PSU isn't dead. To do this, you can follow these steps: Unplug your power cord and/or flip the switch on the back of the PSU in the position denoted with OFF or 0 Unplug every connector coming from your PSU (this is very important) Using a bent paperclip, short out the green wire on the 24 pin header with any of the black wires, like so. If you have a PSU that shuts down its fan under low load, or a PSU that is fanless, connect something small like a hard drive to it. Plug in your power cord and/or flip the switch on the back of the PSU in the position denoted with ON or I If the PSU does NOT power on (the fan/hard drive you connected should start spinning) after following these steps, your PSU is in all likelyhood defective. Request an RMA. If the PSU DOES power on, then the problem is most likely your motherboard. The machine does power up, but my screen remains black (no POST). Make sure your BIOS version is compatible with the CPU generation you're trying to run in your motherboard, you can consult the manual or the manufacturer's website about this. Check if EVERY power cable is connected. Auxiliary power connectors included. Make sure the cable coming from your monitor is attached securely to the graphics card. Also make sure it is securely attached to the monitor itself. Make sure your PSU is powerful enough to power your complete system. Try booting the system with only a monitor but no other peripherals connected. (Thanks @Steven Schaefer) Make sure your monitor works by testing it on a different computer. If you have both a dedicated GPU and an iGPU, try your monitor on both the outputs on the graphics cards as well as on the motherboard. When trying the iGPU, if the board has VGA out, try that too instead of just digital out. (Discovered by @evening) Make sure all connectors and cables are plugged in securely, reseat if necessary. Make sure your RAM, CPU and GPU are plugged in securely, reseat if necessary. Remove riser cables between GPU and motherboard. If this solves the issue, try lowering your PCIe version/speed in the bios to PCIe 3 or lower (Thanks @problemsolver) If the motherboard you're using has debug LEDs, check the error code and consult the motherboard manual to see what it means. If you have a debug speaker connected to the motherboard, note the beep sequence and consult the motherboard manual or this thread to see what it means. Try clearing your CMOS. Try booting your computer with only a motherboard, CPU and one stick of RAM attached (if you don't have an iGPU, plug in your GPU as well ). Make sure your GPU works (if you have a dedicated one), try it in another computer. Make sure your RAM works, try it another computer. Make sure the RAM is compatible with your CPU and your motherboard. If the PC still doesn't POST after this, create a new thread and, as explained here, post IN FULL DETAIL about your problem. Make sure you include the following: System configuration Troubleshooting steps you already did Any additional information that may be relevant. Lastly, if you find any mistakes/grammatical errors, inaccuracies or missing steps in this post, please do post them in a comment so I can fix it. PS: @TheXDS has posted how you can do some more in depth checking of the internal circuitry of you PSU. The only thing you need is a multimeter or potentiometer (if you're oldschool :D). You can find his post at http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/42440-readme-how-to-respond-to-a-no-post-or-no-power-up-situation/?p=4561958
  3. Parts list at the bottom. I know this doesn't sound like an error but when I turn on the PC I have a weird issues with the post LEDs. Each time I boot up the PC both the CPU and DRAM LEDs light up at the same time then the PC will boot successfully with no issues after about 1-2 minutes with no issues. Any clue what's going on here? 4. Hi y'all, I've been having an issue trying to put together a new rig over the past two months. Whenever I try to turn it on, what seems like OCP kicks in immediately and nothing boots. I have to unplug and replug the power cable for me to be able to replicate the issue again, otherwise nothing happens when I power on. I have tried in the case, out of the case, with only the 24-pin connected, with and without RAM, and no matter what, I get the same issue. I've replaced the motherboard and the CPU and these changes have not helped. I've also updated the BIOS to the latest non-beta version (7D73v16). The only time I've been able to get the motherboard to power on properly is with only the 24-pin connected, no CPU in socket, no RAM, and the CPU latch open. When I close the CPU latch, OCP kicks in again. I have tested the PSU with a tester tool and on another system and it functions normally on both of those occasions. I am so out of ideas because I've tested just about everything that could be the culprit here, and have issued multiple replacements. Any advice would be appreciated, and big thanks to anyone reading this now. Please let me know if there's any additional info I need to provide. 5. I recently bought a TUF Gaming B550m-plus motherboard from ASUS, and plenty other components and managed to build a PC which was basically new from everything other than a few components (pretty much just the storage, psu, and case remained from the previous build.) I installed windows and got to installing some apps on my new system, and everything seemed to be working pretty good, so I didn't think I'd run into any issues anywhere going forward. That is until I decided to finally go into the BIOS and turn on the DOCP settings on. As soon as i pressed save and exit, the PC would simply shut off maybe 3 or so times, and would then tell me to press F1 if i wanted to go to the BIOS settings/reset them to defaults. Whenever I'd turn off DOCP and leave the ram to run on the stock 2400mhz, the PC would boot up just fine and it doesn't seem like i'd have any issues. I got this RAM not too long ago, and i actually tested it out on my older build to see if it's defective, and after running it quickly throught the memtest and using it for about 3-4 days in my older build, it seemed to be working fine, so I didn't think there'd be any issues with this "new" PC and that RAM. The specific model is from Teamgroup, TUF Gaming alliance ram, 16GBx2 configuration rated for 3200mhz. The exact serial number (think that's what it's called?) is: TLTYD432G3200HC16FDC01. The CPU is Ryzen 5 5600X, so I figured it wouldn't have any issues running at 3200mhz with the DOCP RAM. One thing I should note is that while I DID load the DOCP on my old motherboard and CPU aswell, i tuned the frequency down to 2933mhz, because i was running a Ryzen 5 2600x, and I read somewhere that's it's most rated operating speed. Are there any ideas or suggestions on what I should do with my current config? I didn't touch anything in BIOS again after it refused to POST for the 2 times I tried doing it as I'm too scared of playing around with it, so i simply left it all running "as is" on my motherboard. The BIOS version my motherboard is running is 2803, so it's not the newest one, but I wouldn't say it's too old either.
  6. Hello LTT forum, I've built my first computer and I've trouble shooted on this matter for the past 8 hours but there seems to be no end to my problem. When I start my PSU I have an 8-pin connected to my motherboard and nothing else from the PSU. I have a CPU installed, with a CPU watercooler also connected to the CPU-OPT, AIO_Pump and USB 2.0 (directly from the CPU cooler). Up in the left corner under "eatx12v_2" I have a red LED-light. I've tried about everything here: https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1042632/ Except connecting a 4-pin to "eatx12v_2" (cause I don't own one at the moment). It seems its not reaching "POST" which is a wide term I believe most of you is familiar with, not med sadly. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Setup: Motherboard - Asus Rog Strix B550-F Gaming CPU - Ryzen 9 3900XT 3.8ghz Cooler (if it matters): Kraken M22. PSU: Kolink Enclave 700 RAM: Corsair 32GB (16x2) DDR4 3200MHz CL16 (not setup or connected atm) GTX 970 DirectCU Mini. 1 250GB ssd 1 1TB HDD (WD Green).
  7. Hi everyone, Recently I've bought a new SSD, the Crucial P5 Plus 1TB, that supports NVMe Gen4. My rig was built by myself in November 2020, and since then I had never swapped or added any new parts. The problem happened today, after installing the new SSD. To be clear, I only installed the SSD in an available slot, I didn't swap the components yet. When installing the new component and migrating the OS to this SSD (as I wanted to format the previous SSD that had the OS and install it in this one), once it restarted, the CPU Led Light on my MSI MAG B550M Bazooka motherboard lit up, alongside no POST. No matter what I checked, or cleaned, or removed and placed again, the problem persisted. After many troubleshooting, all it needed was a BIOS update, as it still hadn't been updated since buying the motherboard. Now everything works fine, and the OS is running on the desired SSD. My problem begins now: after checking that everything worked, I wanted to swap the SSDs as to take advantage of the newer SSD, which could use the LIGHTNING SLOT that had Gen4 in my motherboard. After swapping them, and turning on the computer, the DRAM light turned on, alongside no POST again, and it wasn't turning off. I don't know if there is a problem between my SSD and the motherboard in terms of compatibility, but it seems strange that there's only an error when installing the SSD in the Gen4 slot. Any ideas on how to solve this? Apologies if anything is not explained properly, if any additional info is needed I will happily provide it. CPU: AMD Ryzen 3600 Motherboard: MSI MAG B550M BAZOOKA RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3600MHz 2x8GB GPU: AMD Radeon PowerColor 5700XT Old SSD: WD Green M.2 280 SSD New SSD: Crucial P5 Plus SSD 1TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 Thanks.
  8. Hi guys! My name is George and I'm new here so I apologize in advance if I'm doing this wrong. I have some weird behaviors with my PC. I do have to say it was a prebuilt I bought about an year ago from one of platforms from my country (much like Amazon for you guys I guess?) and I confess, I would've built it myself but time wasn't something I had so I went with this one. Here's a list with my specs (some are taken from their product page or tools such as CPU-Z/GPU-Z/CrystalDiskInfo, I will also provide some screenshots): Case: Middle tower ATX (I don't really know the brand/name of this one, but I will provide a screenshot); Motherboard: ASRock H510M-HVS R2.0; CPU: Intel Core i7-10700F (the one without on-board graphics); GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB, rebar enabled by me; Memory (RAM): 2x16 GB G.Skill DDR4-3002 (1501 MHz) *taken from CPU-Z tool), XMP 2.0 enabled by default; Storage: Apacher AS340 with 480.1 GB; TOSHIBA HDWD320 with 2000.3 GB @7200rpm; Unfortunately, when I bought the PC I didn't check to see if the mobo had any M.2 slots (spoiler alert: it doesn't) so I had to install an expansion card in the only x1 slot left available into which I installed an M.2 KINGSTON SNV2S2000G with 2000.3 GB; Power Supply: Tacens-anima APB550, 550W 80+ Bronze (I believe here is where I should've checked beforehand as well, haven't heard of the brand. I also believe this might be the problem); Back to my issue: whenever I power up my PC, no matter how many times I press the power button, it won't boot. What I do is unplug it from the wall, wait a few seconds, plug it back in, wait a few seconds again and the press the power button. It boots up but another weird thing happens (not always, which is really strange to me) which is that it stays powered but won't post. Sometimes it restarts itself and will post and goes into Windows, some other times it won't post, goes in like an idle state but the PC stays powered or restarts and still won't post. I checked to see if my GPU is properly seated, checked RAM sticks, swapped them around, but this behavior still happens. Have any of you encountered this? If so, did you find a culprit or have any idea what's going on? My bet is the shady Power Supply but I would like to hear your guys' suggestions. Thank you for the help and patience!
  9. I recently purchased a new case for my first build. Fractal Torrent (from a Corsair 4000D) And decided tp move my parts over along with getting a modular power supply. Specs: Windows 10 64x MSI PRO B650 MA Ryzen 5 7600x Dark Rock Pro 4 32gb 16x2 corsair vengeance ram 4060 Thermaltake toughpower gx2 600w (new psu is be quiet pure power 12m 550w modular) Took everything out, put everything in, finagled around with the rgb wires im new to and the tight spaces of the case (im kinda regretting it now) Connected, plugged power and turned on, front fans light up and whirring along with that lil strip but nothing posts. Leds on the board are red & yellow, manual says cpu issue and ram issue. Turn off turn on again for good measure, still the same. Unplug gpu, cooler, cpu & ram and their connectors. Reseat and start up again, still the same. I got no clue what what could be wrong. My best guess is maybe i messed up with the psu connectors but its all in and all in the right slots i think. Also if yall dont mind, case recommendations with that same absurd cooling but more cable management friendly that also are in micro atx size would be nice to hear.
  10. Hi, I’m having issues with my home server. I am running a tyan s7012 with two Xeon X5675 processors. After cleaning the cpus and reapplying thermal paste the server will no longer boot. I have tried pulling one of the cpus, in socket 0 either cpu will give a post code of 2A, and in socket 0, the server hangs and doesn’t return a post code. I’ve checked the pins in both sockets and I can’t find any bent pins. anyone have any suggestions?
  11. Specs: 3060 ti Founders Edition (for now; from pre-built) i7 14700KF ASUS Rog Strix z790-F Wireless mobo 32 gb corsair vengenance 5200 ddr5 RAM (currently one RAM stick is in whilst troubleshooting) 2TB MX500 Crucial SATA SSD (from pre-built) Corsair 850x PSU (from pre-built) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi guys (also posting here from Reddit as an completely stuck on what to do ) Over the past few days I have put together my first PC using some old parts from my pre-built build and others which are new. However, I've been experiencing issues. To start, my PC will POST when only one RAM stick is in. Both sticks work when they are in individually (one at a time) and in any mobo slot. Secondly, if I have one RAM stick in and boot my usb with the windows install, my PC will POST as normal with the ASUS logo appearing to go into BIOS. However, as the windows install comes up, I then get a blue blank screen and my PC turns off automatically about twenty seconds later. Sometimes, I have received three different error messages. The first two messages I have received is when I briefly see the windows install but get BSOD stating "PAGE\_FAULT IN NON\_PAGED AREA" and "Kmode exception not handled". The final message type I have received is a black screen with a "Windows boot manager" heading stating that the "digital signature for this file couldn't be verified. Status: 0xc0000428". Would anyone happen to know what issue I may be facing? At this point, I'm not entirely sure what the root cause to all these issues are; my gut says it's either a CPU (memory controller/cooler is too tight) or mobo issue. Would greatly appreciate any assistance, and apologies for the long post. Starting to go insane not knowing what could be causing this
  12. Hello. I recently bought a new Thermaltake Smart 600w PSU I needed to finally be able to use a RX 470 I bought some month ago for my Dell Optiplex 3010 motherboard with 12GB RAM, I3 3240, Windows 10 64bit I installed the new PSU, without the GPU and everything worked fine. The motherboard is old so it only has a VGA output which was fine because my monitor is a VGA only. Of course, the GPU I bought doesn't have a VGA output, but I thought I could use a TV with HDMI as a monitor in the meantime. I installed the GPU on the pcie slot and plugged the 8 pin connector and before plugging the PC to the TV I tried turning it on connected to the VGA monitor through the motherboard VGA output. The PC turns on with a message saying the current video configuration is wrong and I should plug the monitor to the GPU, which I expected, so the PC is recognizing the GPU. However when I connect the GPU to the TV through HDMI and turn on the PC there is no signal and the case gives the dell POST error code 1 2 blue On/Off button, the Dell POST code manual says it is a expansion card error, but specifically says it is not a graphics card error and I should remove or install any expansion cards I recently installed or removed. If I remove the GPU the PC turns on just fine. When installed, if connected from the Mobo, gives the message to connect to the GPU. When connected to the GPU, PC won't POST. I haven't tried connecting to another TV, since I have no other TV. I haven't tried connecting through DVI or Display Port since I have no DVI or DP monitors or cables. I haven't tried installing the GPU to another PC since I have no other PC nor I know somebody with a PC I could use to test the GPU. I'm from Venezuela, so it's kinda hard to buy stuff here at a reasonable price when earning 140$ a month One thing I noticed is that the PCIE 8 pin connector clashes a little bit with the GPU board so it doesn't go in all the way, it is just like a millimeter from going in all the way. I don't know if that's what's causing the problem and the GPU isn't getting all the power needed to work. I tried turning on the PC with the GPU installed on the PCIE but without the PCIE 8 pin to test if it was the 8 pin not being connected completely. The PC started just fine using the Mobo VGA port. GPU fans not spinning unlike when the 8 pin is connected.
  13. Hello! I got a faulty Asus PRIME X570-PRO motherboard, and I'm trying to identify the root cause of the issue. Symptoms: when the power supply is connected the board, the RGB lights from I/O and chipset do turn on when I try to power on the system, the fan on the CPU and chipset do turn on the system does not POST-s, there is no Video output there is no activity on the Asus QLED indicators (DRAM, CPU, VGA, BOOT remain all Off) the system does not Turns Off / Reset from the Power / Reset switches (with long hold) - need to power cycle the PSU for Turn Off Tried two different CPU-s: Ryzen 5 3400G (2nd get with graphics) and Ryzen 5 3600 (3rd gen). RAM: G.SKILL F4-3200C16D-32GVK, DDR4-3200 16GB GPU: Radeon RX 4600 (tried with and without external GPU) PSU: 550W, 24 pin (MB) + 8 pin (CPU) connected (all the above components are known good) Tried CMOS reset, both with jumper and battery removal method. Any ideas what could be wrong? Is the lack of activity on the Asus QLED-s indicate something? Maybe a corrupted BIOS, or an electrical fault? In case of an electrical fault is there any chance to get a schematics (or repair guide) for the board? Thanks, Attila
  14. Drove w/ my computer across state, old hard drive that had my OS on it died from the drivr so was doing general troubleshooting (aka changing boot drive, clearing cmos when I messed up as amateur pc enthusiasts do from time to time) and after changing the boot drive to one of my SSD’s for the #th time this is what’s happening whenever I boot my PC. I can’t get into BIOS, I can’t do anything. I tried getting a bootable Windows Flashdrive as I believed the issue was I didn’t have an OS on any of my working drives but that didn’t seem to fix the issue. Did I mess up another component in my system when I was doing my troubleshooting? I don’t think this is a boot issue anymore and maybe a graphics card/motherboard issue type situation but I want some extra opinions before I make any financial decisions. Please and thank you
  15. Specs: Mobo: MPG B5501 GAMING EDGE MAX WIFI CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D PSU: NZXT H1 (V2) PSU (750w gold) RAM: 32gb T-force DarkZ(2x16 3200mhz) Graphics card: RTX 4060 Cooling: NZHT H1 (V2) Líquid cooler Storage: NVME: WD_BLACK 1Tb 5150MB/s Hi, after upgrading the CPU, I installed the CPU and then went to the bios to flash & update the BIOS with the new CPU in, all went alright and even reached 100% on progression bar and everything, but then it remained in a black screen for hours, I decided to restart the PC and now it won't boot, the motherboard keeps on the Dram light, so I supposed that changing the RAM from slots or leaving just one would solve the problem but nothing happened, I then switched to the old CPU but same problem, even cleared the CMOS but still the same problem, I even switched to a different RAM module but nothing happened too. I really need help on this one since I need the PC for my work The screenshot was before updating the bios when all worked as usual It won't post not even to the BIOS
  16. Hey, First post on here. Just got in some used parts for a budget pc I wanted to build. specs: i5 9600k, msi gtx1070, 1tb m.2ssd (wd black), 550w psu, 16 gig G-skill, z390-H motherboard. All used parts, m.2 is new. After setting up the system I went to power it on and... no post. I have troubleshooted for some time now with no luck, and concluded that I needed a bios update. Asked the previous owner of the motherboard and he had used the same ram, and an i9 from the same gen. Would this mean that bios update would do nothing? VGA light comes on after a couple of minutes, so think there could be a GPU related problem instead? Attaching a photo of the CPU as its the only thing I feel looks off (middle top right). Have tried without gpu as well without any luck. Mono was shipped in normal bubble wrap and no anti static could this be an issue even if I get lights to everything? The screen also detects me plugging it in and out but no HDMI detected. have tried different screens and cables there swell. Anything helps, as I have built a fair few systems but never encountered a no boot sitch...
  17. Hello! I am fairly new to this scene and I would like to get started on my hands on experience. What I am trying to do is swap/upgrade my M.2 NVME SSD. I bought a WD_BLACK 4 TB SSD and tried swapping my Samsung 1 TB SSD. The installation process was very easy but when I tried to power on my computer, it will start running but nothing will display on the monitor. It won't even post. Any ideas why this would happen?
  18. I dont know if I can share links but I made a video of the boot up secuence and uploaded it to reddit in case someone could help https://reddit.com/r/PcBuild/s/35VEHbOkX7 The video is pretty self explanatory, I have a new asus x670e-i and that is the only problem with the system and I cant skip that "phase" at the start of the system in which it takes 50 seconds to start booting the os. Also sorry if my english is bad, im from spain. (And today the s is silent ;-;) Thanks in advance
  19. Here's my specs in brief : 5800X3D, Galax 4070 Ti OC, 32GB (16*2) 3200 MHz Kingston Fury Beast, Antec NE 850GM Gold PSU and MSI b550m Mortal Max Wifi mobo So, here's what's happening. My PC doesn't seem to boot with the GPU installed. It does with the GPU removed. Is it possible that my GPU is shorted to the ground or something like that or I could be shorting out some other components also. Also, while trying to power on my PSU makes a ticking sound for a hot second , which made me thinking that my PSU is toast. So, I RMAed the PSU, they replaced with a complete new one on the same day. But its still the same with the new PSU. My PC doesn't boor with the GPU installed. While trying to boot, just after pressing the power button on the case the PSU makes a click and turns off. So, could it be that my GPU is triggering my PSU's Over - Current Protection? Or something else is shorted? Shall I RMA just the GPU or shall I proceed with the RMAing both the GPU and mobo? Also, I don't have spare parts (like extra CPU,mobo, ram, psu, gpu etc) to cross-check for the particular faulty part. Any help would be deeply appreciated
  20. Hello, As the title says, I've recently built a new PC, this is my second time building my own pc from scratch and the first time went flawlessly, however this time I can't get it to POST. All lights turn on and all fans are spinning, but the GPU fans stop spinning once the VGA light goes on. 21. Hello, I'm having an issue at the moment where my PC randomly turns off and won't post, I can usually run the PC just fine for a few days and it'll just randomly stop posting,I also can't shut off the computer while it's in this state unless I use the PSU power switch. The ram works perfectly fine in a different computer so that doesn't seem to be the issued. These are my specs: GIGABYTE B650M AORUS ELITE CORSAIR RM850e ASRock Phantom Gaming Radeon RX 6950 SAMSUNG 980 M.2 2280 1TB G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 32GB DeepCool Liquid Cooler LT520 240mm Ryzen 5 7600X
  22. I press boot button on the casing's front and system lights turn on, peripherals lights(keyboard capslock etc) light up and then turn off, Asus logo shows and then it gets stuck. I shutdown by pressing the power button and pc shuts down, I power it back on > stuck again on Asus logo> I shut it down> pc boots successfully to windows. It always takes 2 or 3 restarts to successfully boot into windows. Things I've tried to fix it: Clean install windows x5 times Updated windows, updated drivers tried uninstalling windows updates Tried enabling/disable CSM Enable/disable fast boot Changing RAM slots Changing monitors/lcd Changing power supply Resetting by removing CMOS Remove and placing GPU, RAM , CPU(checked for broken pins) PC SPECS: AMD RYZEN 5 3600 MOBO: ASUS PRIME B450M-A (BIOS VERSION 4002) RAM 16GB DDR4 Lexar GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 POWER SUPPLY: Corsair CV650 1TB WD Blue SN570 Nvme SSD Windows 10 64 Pro 64bit
  23. Phew....here goes. So I recently purchased an Asus dual 6750 XT OC and after installing it in my existing rig, I encountered an issue. The system would boot just fine but would only report half the RAM (i.e, one of the two RAM sticks wasn't showing up) and the RAM which was working was operating at 2133 MHz (it's before GPU install XMP speed was 3600 MHz). The GPU was functioning as intended. To fix this I ordered another pair of RAM sticks, but the issue was persistent. However, this time I got one of the RAM which was showing up to run at XMP speeds. (I.e, 3200 MHz). Now whenever, I tried to boot the PC with both RAM installed the PC wont even Post. I had the "Boot light" LED glowing in my motherboard. So, I tried changing slots for both RAMs one by one in the attempt to make the PC boot with both the RAM, it posted twice (once with RAMs in A1 and B2 and once with RAMs in A2 and B2) . But after posting I got rapid BSODs and operating system couldn't load screens. I thought maybe the XMP is not stable and I went into the BIOS and turned it to "Auto" which essentially makes it run at default speeds. This is when all hell went loose. I couldn't post at all and every time I powered off and on I got various PSC leds which include, boot, boot + CPU and CPU + DRAM. I tried clearing CMOS thrice but I couldn't post. Currently my PC is not posting (i.e, I can't even get into BIOS) and it's throwing boot led light PSC all over the place. 24. Hello, I recently installed a new nvme drive and since then i’ve been having issues when starting up my pc. Both of my monitors will just be black screens, no signal at all. Sometimes when i unplug my display port and plug it back in, it fixes the issue. Other times i just wait 5-10 minutes until suddenly the pc loads and i see the msi logo. my specs are as followed Ryzen 7 5700X RX 6700XT 32gb RAM MSI MAG B550 MOBO 1tb WD Nvme SSD (newest) 1tb Samsung EVO 970 (main drive) 2tb Seagate Barracuda HDD Any tips on what it could be? My initial thought was the boot order messing up.
  25. Whenever I power off my computer normally from Windows and turn it back on or restart it from Windows my computer will show a black screen, but the motherboard, GPU and power LEDs on the case are on. There are no error codes, beeping, etc. The fans of the CPU, PSU and case are spinning as per normal. Computer build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/CaspieChi/saved/dk83RB A temporary solution I have for now is force a shutdown by holding the power button and then turning it back on to have it suddenly work just this time. What I've done so far: I have gone into the BIOS and used the default option to fully reset it to defaults, even though I hadn't changed anything. I did check that the memory (2666MHz default) runs under the motherboard limit (3200MHz) and the boot drive is my actual boot drive (and if it is in order of boot priority). I've checked that all device are recognized and do work as expected, and I've followed the manuals with the products just to make sure it's installed right. I do not know if a BIOS update would solve this, I also do not know how I would do a BIOS update, so if that may be the case, then I'd like to know how on that. I did check that the motherboard did not need a BIOS update for my CPU and such before purchasing, but maybe it was not correct? My end result is just wanting to be able to boot up to Windows every time without a problem or using the temporary solution.
