Need recommendations on portable monitors. Im an Engineer and don't need super color accurate screens ( I have my blue light filter on 24/7 feel free to roast me). I mostly want something that would work well for both on a plane and on a random table or desk. I'm not sure what kind of budget I'm in, but considering the other solution coworker have (see below) is about $500 Id think anything $200 and below would be easily approved. Some of my coworkers have the Xebec TriScreen (LTT did a video on this linked below) I tried a coworkers the other day and couldn't stand it. I am looking at other solutions to request. The one coworker who really liked the Xebec said he used it on a flight. Which I could see being nice since it doesn't require additional tray footprint.

Hi, I'm looking for a USB Portable Toolbox something like Windows PE or whatever. My goal is to have a USB Stick that I can use to stress test computers without installing anything on them. I need to test Both GPU and CPU at the same time for a maximum load. I can't find anything relevant on google. Thanks for your help.

First post here, Usually I can figure most of my computer related problems but this one is throwing me for a loop. Making this clear first: The data is important but not needed. I will not send the drive off anywhere. The entire drive was encrypted before data was placed on it. I believe I selected the option for compatibility. Issue: I plug up my portable ssd into a computer that has bitlocker on it, type in the password, select unlock, and bitlocker/ssd freezes up. The bitlocker password screen won't go away unless the drive is disconnected. Most hard drive tools/software don't seem to have the ability to reformat/remove bitlocker - I didn't invest much time in this area... maybe I missed something. Troubleshooting: I've tried different enclosures with different cables etc. I've tried USB 3 and USB 2. I've tried using the key to unlock the drive and same result. I've tried it on a desktop and a laptop both running windows 10. I've tried a couple cmd commands with no luck. Maybe missed some too. I've tried some software and windows to reformat drive with no luck (duh; encryption). Did not try: Running it on windows 7 (may try on a vm but don't see this option helping). Burning it in a fire. I attached screenshots. 1st is the bitlocker password screen **Looks just the picture, nothing happens. This is when the correct password (or key) is used and you press enter or hit unlock. When the wrong password (or key) is used, it states that it's incorrect and doesn't freeze up.** 2nd is just the disk in computer management. **Everything shows up before the password is entered. I can see the sabrent and the ssd information. When the password is used and you go to computer management to load the disks, computer management freezes up. When the drive is disconnected, computer management starts behaving properly. Hardware WD Blue SA510 - - ~6months old ~150gb of data written to it SABRENT 2.5 Inch SATA to USB 3.0 Tool Free External Hard Drive Enclosure [Optimized for SSD, Support UASP SATA III] Black (EC-UASP) Gaming Desktop - Custom - Windows 10 Gaming Laptop - MSI - Windows 10 If I can wipe bitlocker off the disk using some function I'm not aware of or some software I haven't tried, I would like to try that to be able to run some scans on the SSD. However, if there is a chance someone has a solution, I would prefer that! My guess is a bad drive. Any help is greatly appreciated. I feel as if LLT forums is the best place to try and get this resolved. I searched around on here a little and a lot on the web. I don't believe I've ever posted on any forum asking for a solution so any help is greatly appreciated!! For those of you who may ask a question, I'll try to answer as soon as I can. Thank you.

Thank you in advance for your help. I was looking to get a JBL Charge 4 for my dad's boat but he would like to have local radio on it as well. I figured a small radio receiver with a 3.5mm aux would be best but I don't see any options like this and there isn't much info on this type of setup. I understand not many people want local radio anymore. I found this Sony Dual Band FM/AM Analog Portable Battery Radio Home Audio Radio Black (ICF-19) on Amazon and think this would work. What is the best way to add radio to a Bluetooth speaker?

Hi all! A small company in the Video Production industry is launching what they’re advertising to be the “world’s fastest SSD”. Many people are skeptical and I would love to know your thoughts. Is this a legitimate product or just “smoke”? Product page: https://tropiccolour.com/pages/osp-space-shuttle-ssd The company is “Tropic Colour”, which is backed by an entrepreneur named Jakob Owens. He owns a few other companies, all based around providing video production resources, and has somewhat of a polarizing reputation. These companies all rely on a very strong social media presence, and are making some very shocking claims on this new product. They’re giving it a fancy packaging and creating a bunch of hype around a product that doesn’t provide much in technical specifications. Tropic Colour have been very vocal on their Instagram marketing regarding this new SSD, and have been accused by many of just selling a NVMe SSD in a custom enclosure. Here are a few of their Instagram posts: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CrCUEjXgvR8/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== https://www.instagram.com/reel/CryN3XvJWtu/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== https://www.instagram.com/reel/CsJ5XGcgVXJ/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Is there a limitation in .exe extension ?, i just found a freeware (enigmavb) that can convert a normal installed program into a portable version. I got bored and try experimenting with the converter. I tried convert blender, portal, and vlc into portable version and they worked flawless except portal because when i use the steam version it won't work (obviously). And here is the problem, i tried to to convert a full instalation of assasins creed 4 + DLC (pirated version) and its converted succesfully into one gigantic executable file - 18GB of .exe file. And when i try to run it, it won't work at all, it says "this app can't run on your pc" even with administrator thing. So i was wondering is it a limitation of the exe file itself or there is just some blocked previleges to run exe file more than tolerable size. because when i convert blender, portal, and vlc, the exe file is under 4gb and run without any problem. is there anyway around i can get this 1 big chungus file to work ? or just became a piece of garbage ?. thank you in advance for the help. (the problem) (the size of the file)

A while back I first heard about the LattePanda Alpha and it's an interesting little SoC machine that can be gaming-capable and is actually in reach for many potential buyers. While the prospect of eGPU is very interesting (some even pairing up with a Titan to truly test its bottlenecks), I find more interest adapting it into a handheld form factor. The LP Alpha is more out of my budget, and so are the GPD Wins and the OneGX1, so I want to see what I can accomplish under $400, with some decent gaming performance. This budget should include the computer itself, additional hardware, case, and power management. I chose a 6th generation Intel NUC with Iris graphics. I wouldn't be the first to make a portable system out of a NUC- that was done already with Project Scout, and it serves as one of my inspirations. The form factor is going to be a 7-to-8 inch netbook, or like those mini gaming laptops that seem to be getting more popular. That will probably be the biggest driving factor to how much I will need to DIY for the design. And when I build custom PCs I also like building custom cases. So here we are. To make it a UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC), it needs the following: Built-in controls Screen Batteries A ton of handheld Pi-based systems already exist but rarely do I see ones based on a NUC so I think that would be a nice challenge to do. Here's a render of what you can expect for the parts layout to be like inside its case. First is the PC itself, the Intel NUC6i5SYK. Its CPU is a few generations old, but I got it because of the low price. Its iGPU is noticeably better HD integrated graphics most of its CPUs have. Maybe I will upgrade later to a Minisforum PC, Asus P50 or something like it for the Ryzen goodness. But for now this will do. NUC6i5SYK - $181 after tax This is probably the smallest desktop computer I've owned, as I don't buy a lot of single-board computers. The aluminum case is sturdy and makes it feel heavy for its size. I went out to the nearest computer store to buy a DDR4 laptop DIMM in a pinch because I didn't have any. The cheapest RAM is some brand I don't recognize, Neo Forza, and the ram modules are by GoldKey. I actually took a gamble with this RAM because it's not on Intel's certified vendor list, but it did boot up properly. First I booted with Kubuntu 20 on live USB, and quickly ran some Unigine benchmarks. Heaven is more taxing on the iGPU than Valley but I am satisfied with how well it ran on 1280x720, one of the resolutions I'm targeting. And that is just with single-channel RAM. I will replace this later with dual-channel RAM so I can get better performance. For now, I think the next step is how to add battery power. Either I could go with Li-ion or Li-polymer cells. This NUC can take in a wide voltage input of 12V to 19V, so that makes power setup a bit easier. I will go over power settings on the BIOS to see how I can make the PC more energy efficient, but in stock settings the benchmarks draw up to 35W at the wall. A 3000 mAh pack at 14.8V- a typical voltage for cell in 4-series- can theoretically last up to 44.4 watt-hours (not counting loss of efficiency). 3500 mAh would net around 50. Something like this DIY uninterrupted power supply. Alternatively, I could use a lower-voltage cell and a step up converter. The UPS part comes with being able to recharge with a power source and disconnecting it so it runs on battery while the barrel plug to the NUC stays connected. It's still possible to bypass the battery circuit completely to make the NUC use its own power supply as normal, though this requires turning off the unit. Another major part for this build is the display. It needs its own small display to be a handheld unit, right? There are many 7" touch screen IPS displays mainly designed for Raspberry Pi and general purpose use. They are all similar but with subtle differences in ports and circuit layout. Lamentably, all of these are not slim enough to fit in my project. It was hard to find the thickness of these displays, but a few listed in the specs as 15mm including the ports. I settled for a non-touch display because it was at a good price ($33), and in a thinner case. Plus, it has built-in speakers! UPerfect 7 inch IPS display - $36 Total cost - $217 The resolution is 1024x600 which is reasonable for this small size. While I could just get a bare 7" display with control board, all the boards I've seen for these displays are too bulky for my needs and take up too much room that would used better for power or cooling. I will add a touch screen overlay later on. By this time I would work on a custom frame for the screen anyways, so that the overlay fits with the screen.

Hey everyone, I'm an aspiring software developer and watch a lot of tutorials every day and spend most of my time using my PC, the problem with that is I can't sit for a very long time as it gets tiring and I lose my focus. So I'm thinking of a portable screen (preferably budget friendly/nothing too fancy). Something that I can use to work with my computer while on the move around the house. I've been thinking of a Microsoft Surface as my only option (can connect to my pc using RDP on local network), however, those come with so many things that I don't need and I think it would be much better if all of my budget went into the display itself rather than other stuff.

Budget (including currency): 250 USD for the case n cooler if needed Country: Singapore Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: NA Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): existing computer parts: MSI Z490 Unify 10700k one HDD 2 SSD RTX 3070 Ti Gigabyte Master Deepcool Assassin 3 air cooler Leadex PSU 850W NZXT H710i Hi guys, I am a fan of Linus from Singapore(originally from China). I found a case that is amazing. Here is the story: Recently I have been planning to go home(China) by air with my ATX Desktop(MSI Z490 unify, deepcool assassin 3 air cooler, Gigabytes RTX 3070 ti Master). It is really difficult to find a portable case that is compatible with ATX Motherboard and ATX PSU, so I decided to look for those itx cases and buy a new motherboard (ITX). Therefore, I can leave it in the carry on luggage (20inch) However, after doing some research I realised that most of the ITX cases in the market today cannot fit in my 4 Slot GPU(maybe I’m too greedy) Then I had to change my strategy that I started to look for compact ATX Case that can fit into my checked luggage(28 inch) and pay for the surcharge. While I was browsing ATX cases from all brands, I found one video on Bilibili that introduced a case called 机械大师Mechanic Master C34. https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1ZT4y1w7D4?share_source=copy_web This case is compatible with ATX Motherboard and 165mm high air cooler,160mm ATX PSU and 330mm max GPU. Since it’s ATX compatible I can install my 4 slot gigabyte aorus master into it as well that perfectly solved my problem. I’m gonna buy it in Taobao after CNY see if I can carry it home successfully! Then the handle make it portable oso OMG!!!The only problem for me rt now is the delivery fee from China to Singapore and the height of my assassin 3 cooler(maybe it’s time to buy a noctua Wish Linus can see this post or email i sent to him , I dunno if it is possible for a video as this case is really AMAZING for air travel!!! This is really a life saver for me. The photos are the desktop im using rt now n the case i found hahaha.

Hi everyone, I'm having a hard time navigating my choices here so I thought I'd come ask a community for advice. What I'm looking for is a portable monitor that I can have on a mount like this - around 15" and as light as possible. I'd also like for it to handle power delivery to my laptop (Thunderbolt 4 over USB C) and also take a mouse and keyboard. Basically, I want just one cable to go to my laptop. I see a bunch of options on Amazon, but the descriptions aren't very clear and I don't know whether they offer what I'm looking for. Money isn't an issue. TIA!

Budget (including currency): Under $1200 US (not including capture card) Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: OBS/Streamlabs, Adobe Premiere Other details This is to be used as a portable dedicated studio streaming PC. I need this PC to be as small as possible (handle is a bonus) but be able to fit both an Nvidea GPU and (in the future) a Blackmagic DeckLink Quad Capture Card (not included in the budget). I will be using cheapo HDMI to USB capture cards (4) for a short time and I use a Zoom L-12 for audio so would need enough IO for that as well. Appreciate the help!

Budget (including currency): No official budget but fairly reasonable Country: Middle East, Europe Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 3Ds Max, Unreal Engine 4 and 5, Adobe Suit, Mad Mapper. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hey guys, This isnt anything serious since my boss and I are trying to find an alternative pc instead of carrying a huge bulky build to setups so i suggested we try building a new smaller pc for this. He hasnt given me a budget but just asked to do some research so here i am asking the people who know this stuff more than me. Anyways what im looking for is a portable poweful pc which can be used for work and can handle 4+ projectors at a time at max 10 projectors while having softwares running in the background (Mainly mad mapper and after effects). Now the issue arrises with what is the absolute best build i can go with that can support such a heavy load. Im literally starting from zero with this build so im not sure if i should go with 2 or more GPUs to support the projects, a powerful CPU with alot of cores, RAM, all this is something i understand the minumum but not with what im looking for. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What I want to do: I'm noticing I'm getting limited by storage and CPU in newer games like Cyberpunk 2077. I plan to upgrade Storage, MOBO, DDR5 and CPU later this year once the new platforms come out and DDR5 prices get reasonable. Something I would like to attempt with this upgrade, is to make my system portable, so I can carry it with me when I move for a few days at a time for work. My current system: I built my rig in 2018, and upgraded it in 2020. It uses an i7-8700 (bought in 2018) and a RTX3080 (bought in 2020), reusing my 2018 case but heavily modified for airflow diy (image below). Details in my signature. Ideas: I am starting with some research and planning for the upgrade, I have a few concepts in mind right now, and I'm lookign forward to advices to decide on the upgrade: Briefcase PC (sample image below): Case with Handle (sample image below): DIY All In One (sample image below): Specifications: Pack/unpack without much hassle (otherwise I would just carry a screen and a case with me) Good airflow, good thermals Aircooled, no watercooling Secure firmly the components, especially the RTX3080 (TUF non OC) Safely carry a single 27'' screen (LG 27GL850) I'm fine with having to pluck off the screen from the case to connect it I'm okay with radical DIY modifications Question: I'm looking for advices, either on DIY build or users with similar needs to me, or links to off the shelf cases that might fit my application Thanks!

Summary Valve has been developing a new piece of hardware for quite some time. This appears to be according to the recent changes in Steam’s code a new device called the 'SteamPal'. The name itself is a derivative of a previously discovered code with the term 'Neptune' which appeared last year in September with a 'Neptune Optimized Games' string. People who checked the code back in September thought it might be a reference to some type of controller. For the record, the name 'SteamPal' is very likely a internal name, not something specifically for the public. The 'SteamPal' wants to be a Switch competitor. Valve has kind of hinted (thanks to Gabe) that they may want to go on consoles, but they weren't specific. Quotes My thoughts Considering we’re talking about Valve creating their own hardware again, they’ve been known for their lack of popularity and ultimate cancellation of their project (like the Steam Machines). Though with that said, the Valve Index did pretty good despite the fact that it had lackluster supplies because of high demand (and ofc 2020). Whether if this particular new hardware is gonna become popular (and also available), all remain the be seen. Hello everyone, like I said in the title I need a portable drive for working. I'm a programmer and I switch very often between my desktop PC and my laptop. To "ease" the transition I keep my projects on an external drive. I open and modify the projects directly on the drive without copying them on the machine. The drive I currently use is this: Seagate [Amazon], well to be honest I'm not sure if that is the same exact model as mine, when I try to search using the serial numbers on the device's back I find nothing, also my model seems to be from 2018, it could be an older version, but I'm not really sure. I did not buy this device, it is a gift... a bad one I'd say. The performance is just terrible, especially for Random I/O, sometimes when copying big amounts of data the transfer stops for long periods of time, and it is quite frustrating. Another annoying issue is that the software I use for my projects is very resource-intensive, CPU, RAM and I/O (it's IntelliJ IDEA by the way) and often the projects won't compile, or in worst-case scenarios the disk disconnects for some reason (fortunately I don't lose the work though). For this reason I decided to buy a portable SSD drive, but I'm not sure on which to buy so before buying anything I wanted to ask advice here. On Amazon I considered these two models: Sabrent Nano, Pioneer. What do you think? Any recommendations?

Hello folks! I'm in need of a external/ portable DAC/AMP for my headset so any recommendation is welcomed. The reason is that I'm starting to hear random popping noise (low in the background not very audible) when my GPU under load especially during ALT + TAB between heavy GPU usage applications to desktop/ browser and my friends also complained about static noise (randomly not all the time) from my microphone. As the Game One is a headset so I would like to buy a DAC/AMP that have microphone port. Currently I'm looking at the Creative G5/G6 but they are kinda "expensive" in my place

Hello, I want to invest my money in a portable device. I looked for Microsoft Surface Devices but the feedback I have seen was pretty bad from everyone who's not only worling with devices like these. I want a device which I can take on my trip easily I'm looking towards 13 inch sizes. I want to work with it which means it should handle Excel files ~5-25 MB, Heavy Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams loads. For gaming I don't play any FPS or Racing games, I'm totally fine with 1080p. I want to be able to play Diablo 2 Resurrected and Civ 6, And it would be nice if I could connect it to a bigger display. I have seen a video from linus for the ASUS Flow X13. This seemed nice, even though I heard it is absolutely not upgradeable. It's not that it's an issue now, but the device is getting pretty hot so I'm afraid it may be a throwaway device and for that it is not cheap enough. Do you have suggestions or reports from your own experience?

Hi all, I'm at a university and our research group might need a silent yet (semi-)portable computer for data acquisition. Does anyone have case recommendations for such a build? It needs to have space for at least 2, but ideally 4 PCIEx4 single slot cards because our scientific cameras are picky and will only work with the specified PCIE cards. The lab environment we're working in is noise sensitive, so we'll need to make reasonable effort at noise reduction, bringing the PC as close to silent as possible. Thankfully the only job his PC has is data acquisition so power and heat are of minimal concern. For portability I'm hoping for something like a handle, or at least something that does not weigh too much so it's easy to move around the lab. Castors won't work for various reasons. Any suggestions welcome. Cheers. EDIT: The PCIE cards come with an option for a short PCIE bracket, presumably for server racks.
