Hello everyone! I've recently moved to Sweden, and i only had one choice of ISP, Tele2 - Now, i have their modem/router box, but i also have my AX3000 4-Stream Wi-Fi 6 Router that i use for game streaming in the house etc. i've tested it, using my personal router instead of using the modem/router as an access point is better for these uses. However, i seem entirely unable to port forward anything. I haven't called the ISP to check if they're fucking with it, but i will unless you all have any bright ideas here I'll provide any information you need to help me, if i'm forgetting any. https://i.imgur.com/9P5ZTkZ.png https://i.imgur.com/l6ISqP1.png I'm both not hoping and hoping there's something incredibly simple i'm forgetting. Lemme know if there's more intel to share! I can show the modem web page aswell but that would mean i have to pull my Ethernet out of the router and back into the modem for the 10th~ time today :') I do realize the fixes you all have for me probably will mean i have to though x) thanks for any help in advance! Full transparency this is a crosspost from reddit - i'm not getting any responses on there, but if i do, i want others who find this post having the same issue to at least be able to find both posts to potentially help them fix the issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeNetworking/comments/16vc653/port_forwarding_my_router_connected_to_a/?

Hi everyone. I'm sorry for asking what is likely to be a very common question, but I've looked through a bunch of threads and couldn't get it to work, so I'm here asking for someone to basically hold my hand through the process I've set up a home server. Got TrueNAS Scale on it (Core did not support my RAID card). Local access is working fine. Now - I'm looking for a solution that does not involve a VPN. I'm looking to mount the storage pool directly to some machines that are all away from where the server is situated. This is a storage vault for non mission critical data, but we'd like regular access to it, as it's where we want to place off-jobsite backups as we are regularly on the road and want to get to the end of the day, do a local backup, then upload it all to the vault. I understand two ways of doing this would be by SMB sharing, WebDAV, or (s)FTP. As long as it works, I have no preference. I would like it to be accessible also through my browser, in case we want to send something in a pinch to a client, but this isn't something I'd necessarily need - can use Drive or Dropbox. Mounting the storage pool directly to the remote machines would be the most necessary part. In the past we used prebuilt NAS and we had an office so it was relatively more simple, as for remote access we could just use the WD or Synology apps. But I'm clearly failing at some point in the process between setting up the share configuration and port forwarding, as every time I've tried to check the port externally I've gotten back that it's not pointing to the correct place. As much as it pains me to say this, security is somewhat secondary, so I'm willing to compromise on that for ease of setup.

So I'm trying to set up a dedicated server for playing Project Zomboid with a few of my friends and managed to set it up correctly to the point I'm able to access it through my own network, however trying to enter using the public IP only gives a "Server is not responding" message. When I try sites such as canyouseeme.org, the connection always seems to time out. My current networking setup is the ISP provided mode/router combo-->Apple Airport Time Capsule-->MoCa connection to my PC. I enabled port mapping for 16261, 16262, 8766, 8767 on the Apple router to my PCs static IP, and also allowed them through my PCs firewall. Pic: When I try to access the gateway IP on the ISP router I see it's acting still as a router(has a hidden SSID that I can connect to). The other LAN ports on the ISP router/modem don't allow internet access which is why my MoCa adapter is connected to the Apple router instead. What else could be the reason for the server not working and how can I fix it?

Hello! I need a help with setting my port for Minecraft Servers and for NAS. Neither of them works. I set everything how it should be, IP (Of the Device which is running the Minecraft Server and the IP of the NAS Server), Port, and Protocol. I even enabled WAN to LAN and i still cant join to the ports. I have optical internet. I have two routers, One is from other company which is getting the signal from the wall, and from that LAN Cable is going to my second router from other provider, where i am setting my Port forwarding. Thank you so much for your help! Have a nice day

Hey, im running a plex media server under Windows 10 and recently changed my ISP now running the standard router from Vodafone which is the Vodafone Box. Now i realized that this runes with DS-Lite. So basically i can't use port forwarding. Now I have two options 1) Buy a new router like a Fritzbox 2) find a way to use Plex remote access without port forwarding in the router Any Ideas or setups?

IPv6 supposedly removes all classic NAT related problems regarding port forwarding. I already have it for quite some time, so do I still need to port forwarding/UPnP for online gaming? Or games aren't using it already because a more global implementation is needed?

port forward How do I port forward on my Huawei E5186s-22a?
ApexArticO5 posted a topic in Networking
Hello, so I have a pretty confusing router homepage, and I've never have managed to figure out what exactly is the tab for port forwarding. The main reason I want to figure it out is so I can create some servers and play with some close friends, and not have to pay for a server operating service. I used to have a different ISP/router and its homepage used to have a simple "port forward" tab, so it was really simple to port forward. But on the current router, there isn't a tab called "port forward". You all probably can understand that I'm not very good with this type of stuff, but I did know how to port forward on a simple "port forward" tab and I even helped my friend to port forward through skype once. I've tried to look for help on the internet (by searching) and have checked out the help tab on my router but it didn't make anything clearer. Any help would be really appreciated! Specs: Device: Huawei E5186s-22a Now I'll list all the tabs I've got. Quick Setup Ethernet Ethernet Settings Ethernet Status MAC Clone WLAN WLAN Basic Settings WLAN Advanced Settings WLAN MAC Filter WPS Settings DHCP VoIP SIP Server SIP Account Speed Dial Security PIN Management Firewall Switch MAC Filter LAN IP Filter Virtual Server Special Applications DMZ Settings SIP ALG Settings UPnP Settings NAT settings Domain Name Filter DDNS Remote Access System Device Information Modify Password Diagnosis Restore Defaults Reboot Update Settings -
Hello all, I'm looking to setup a static IPv4 and IPv6 in Windows 10 Pro (Desktop PC if that matters). I'm wanting to do this so I can port forward the game COD MW 2019 / Warzone to try and fix some networking issues I'm having in game. In game when I die the kill cam shows something very different then what I directly noticed while playing. Like everyone I'm playing is backward in time or something. So I thought I would try to open the ports to see if it helps the game. I thought about truning on my routers QoS setting (called Intellistream (Belkin AC1200 Dual-Band Gigabit Router), but online people have said not to do that on Reddit as it can lead to issues with this router. Something to do with my network speeds above 220 Mbps.

my router is Orbi RBR50 connected directly without a modem from fiber media converter up to date with the latest updates. the computer I'm trying all of this is a windows 11 pc but the same issue was also when it had windows 10 so it's probably not it. so I have this problem because I'm assuming I'm just making some mistake one else seem to talk about so no guides actually help. I've tried to set up a server so me and some friends could play together and time after time the same issue and I just give up on the matter. when trying to open a port for Minecraft or some other game (like the forest port I'm trying to open in the attached picture the necessary ports are 8766,27015,27016 ) no one from the outside my network can join in and the server shows and plays normally on Lan. I've tried manually setting rules in the firewall to allow in and out traffic for said ports( after setting the port forwarding like in the picture) didn't help. I've tried disabling the firewall and antivirus completely again nothing changed. any site like https://www.canyouseeme.org always shows the ports as closed for any port i try to check. any help would be apricated!

I want to start of by saying I have tried a lot of stuff, and I am lost and in desperate need of help. Xfinity's Xfi app (which soon will be the only way to config their shitty router) does not display devices that use ethernet. It only displays devices that use WiFi. I tried releasing IPs and getting new ones, I have tried disabling ipv6 (which people say is the issues) it did nothing. The devices show up in the offline list meaning devices connected to ethernet not only not show up, but they also only get detected for a few seconds after being plugged in by ethernet and then they go offline. Any idea what the issue is? Any fixes? as a new router/modem is not an option.

So, basically my router(TP Link Archer C5) cannot port forward properly since my ISP has given us a private IP. Ive seen people online say that VPN's do work but i cant find a VPN that supports Port forwarding with a router that has a private ip, So if anyone knows a VPN that does support this please tell me or if you know another method to port forward even with a private IP please do tell me that too

I'm posting this in networking as I'm pretty sure my problem has to do with that (though I'm not completely sure of it). I have deployed a Minecraft server, and I am able to join it, but no one outside of my network is able to join it. I have tried everything, but nothing is working. My port is forward, it is pointed to the correct internal IP, I'm using the correct external IPv4. I have even tried using a different port, nothing. The firewall shouldn't be a problem, I'm using MineOS, because Ubuntu would have the same problem, so I thought it was the firewall being too complicated for me. MineOS Comes with a pre-configured firewall. Please help, I am at a loss, and I am ready to give up.

Hey guys, Wanted to setup a CSGO server. Bought a cloud instance from Alibaba cloud and set everything up. I have past experience setting up servers on VPS but never on something like Alibaba ECS. Apparently, theres two different IPs assigned to a user on this. FIrst one is the Public IP where I ssh into - 161.***.**.** the second is a private IP address and when you type in an ip addr on the server, this is what you get. (172.***.**.**) Now - my problem is - once a CSGO server is created, it creates the server on the private IP, and therefore I cant access the server. (I try to connect to the public IP, it times out. Same with private IP) I heard that port forwarding is what I have to do but Im kind of in a fix and dont understand what thats supposed to mean so if somebody could help me out? The OS on the instance is Ubuntu 18.04 64bit

So, I have a TL-WR840N router, and I want to port forward it to host some game servers, problem is no matter how many guides I follow to a T the ports just aren't opening, so I found a forum saying your WAN should be your static IP that your ISP provides. So through a series of emails I've received my static IP and ...nothing, nada. as soon as I change the router from auto-detect to Static IP the internet just stops working, am I missing something really basic here or what? Also, if I'm not giving some important information, let me know

Things I have: PC: Windows Modem: arris tg862g/ct Router: Netgear R6100 The arris tg I have is a router/modem combo but I only use it as a Modem. The Router is connected to the Modem by Ethernet. The network is not in Bridge mode Things I have tried to do for Port Forwarding: I gave my router and my computer a static IP I have made a made a port forward rule on the router I have Port forwarded my router through my modem ( and enabled port forwarding through the modem) I made an Inbound and Outbound rule for my Windows Firewall for the port I have checked that the ISP does not block the port I am attempting to open (443) I have also tried to download Port Forwarding software but that still failed to help open ports I have done all of the things above but when I go to any port checker, my port is still closed. Is there anything I am missing in these steps? -Thanks for your time
