I have a 500 GB hard drive from a Playstation 4 Slim. My brother wants me to get the clips off it. The PS4 itself died and is gone. I've read online that even if I had another PS4, it wouldn't help because it would have newer firmware. There is recovery software that I can pay for that seems to extract all the photos and videos off the drive, but that pulls off literally every video and photo, which doesn't seem very useful. I'm not sure what I could do if anything. He has a PS5 now with the same PlayStation account, and as far as I can tell, clips didn't transfer and can't be transferred over the cloud in any way. Does anyone know a way I could somehow get his clips back?

Budget (including currency): Low, But will increase with time. USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming Other details My name is Justin Rex and I'm trying to help a good friend with his streaming setup. Brett Eastburn has no arms and no legs. He more importantly believes that he has no handicaps whatsoever. If you were to meet this kind soul, you too would see that he has absolutely no shortcomings. He is a comedian and a motivational speaker so as you can imagine, the pandemic has been detrimental on him and his livelihood. Through this pandemic, I've helped in in starting a streaming setup on a budget. We've managed to get a laptop and a capture card so that he can stream his Playstation gameplay through streamlabs OBS. I've chosen to use Voicemeeter Potato and a Yeti Nano microphone. We have a Streamdeck Mini in use for an interface for the entire thing. Between Elgatos integrations, and various scripts I've written, we can mostly manage to get the big portions of the stream running smoothly and efficiently. With a healthy dose of TeamViewer sessions, and a little patience, we usually have successful streams and plenty of viewers. With all this being said, I'm struggling to really take the quality of the stream up to the highest level possible, I have a full time job and a family of my own. I help Brett as a close friend and I try my best to get him the support he needs for a seamless production. I need advice on good streaming tactics and maybe a helping hand along the way. I'm looking to integrate Discord, Twitch and eventually a podcast and a youtube channel full of Vlogs that show the day to day of an individual in his situation. We are always looking for suggestions on hardware and backend supplies as well. Brett is a beautiful soul and a hoot to talk to. Being in front of a crowd and making people laugh is really what he's meant to do, I'm just trying to get him to his full potential.

Hi, everyone. My brother has been facing an issue which he is unable to fix. Due to his carelessness during washing a device with mobile servicing thinner liquids, he dropped some of the thinner liquid over his PS4 shell. When he realised he immediately tried to soak those drops of liquid but that even made this worse. I observed a part of the surface of PS4 shell became grey where the liquid fell off. And he is unable to clean as it seems either fixed to the surface or non-removable. Some photos were attached herewith for your convenience to understand. Is there any way to remove and clean this grey spot and back to the previous normal colour of the surface? Thanks in advance.

POST REMOVED FROM r/PlayStaion I really don't know what to do. Today my dad called me and asked if I purchased a bunch of stuff on my PSN account, which I hadn't, I have been swamped trying to figure out online schooling for the past few moths and have had 0 time to game, nor the funds to buy new ones. I checked my email and sure enough, over $1k USD of games was purchased in the last 6 days. So I didn't panic. I went to change my password. No dice, I can't log in I can't send myself a change password email, nothing. Still I did not panic. I went to the PSN support site. Spoke with the bot that told me to call or use live chat. I tried calling, was told that due to high call traffic I would not be assisted. It's COVID and a new console just dropped, completely understandable. So I went to the online chat, and the response I got from there, that made me panic. The conversation went as follows: Employee's name is changed and will be referred to as Jim. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Jim: Thank you for contacting PlayStation, my name is Jim how may I assist you today? Remember: Please do not refresh your screen as it will disconnect the chat session. Thanks! Me: Hello, I have lost access to my account Me: and have found purchases i did not authorize Jim: Hi OP, nice to meet you. After reviewing your account, the system shows it has been permanently banned because activity that violates the PSN terms of service and user agreement was identified; unfortunately you will not be able to sign in to PSN using this account anymore. However, we recommend to create a new account if you want to have access to PSN services again. For more information, here is an article with a list of reasons why your account can be permanently ban, sadly no further details or information can be discussed: LINK REMOVED With this information said, besides this please tell me, is there any other question, or anything else I can try to assist you with today? Me: but I have not done anything is there someone I can contact about this? I think my account was stolen? Jim: We’re highly sorry however there is no way for us to change the status of the account as we found a violation on the terms of service as we mentioned. We appreciate your understanding on the matter. Kindly allow us to mention that, if you have no more questions besides this, we do thank you for contacting PlayStation support, and hoping you have a nice day. __________________________________________________ I was then booted from the chat. Worried that I may have just lost over 10 years of achievements and digital game purchases. I quickly checked my email again looking for a notification of a ban. Nothing. So I called again, no answer. I read over the last conversation and realized I may have come off as trying to get my account unbanned, and while this is true in the end, I had just been notified of this by a support worker, I just wanted some information. So I thought I would try again. After waiting for 30 min another employee was here to help! Referred to as Not Jim or NJ. ______________________________________________ Not Jim: Thank you for contacting PlayStation, my name is NJ how may I assist you today? Remember: Please do not refresh your screen as it will disconnect the chat session. Thanks! Me: Hello, I believe my account has been hacked. I do not know what to do NJ: Thank you for that information. After verifying your account I can see it was permanently banned. Violation of the “Terms of Services and User Agreement” for the PlayStation Network was found in the Sony Entertainment Network account and it was banned according to the agreement. The details of the reason have been sent to the email currently linked to the account in question. To continue using our services you may create a new PSN account. Is there anything else we can help you with? Me: I did not receive an email (edited from transcript to fix my spelling of receive) NJ: I'm truly sorry but we have no other options for this case. I'm sorry but, we cannot provide further commentary with regards to this case. Thank you for contacting PlayStation and your understanding on this matter. ________________________________________________________ I am distraught, is there really nothing I can do? I know that I can dispute the charges on the card but it doesn't appear for there to be an option for me to dispute the ban or reclaim my account. I am honestly heartbroken. 10 years, of friends, clips, games, saves, and achievements, lost? All because I didn't log on for a few months? It doesn't feel right. It's making me feel sick. If this doesn't get resolved I think I may give up on PlayStation. This is the second time my account has been hacked and ever since the major breach back in 2011 I have been super carful with my passwords. I will continue to try calling the phone lines, and I will update the post if anything changes, but everybody: don't leave your emails unattended and change your passwords regularly. If anyone has any advise or kind words, I would love to hear them. Best, Draqings

Hello! Recently I've been having an issue with my DS4 controller where it flicks up sporadically, but not consistently. Video of the controller input if that helps is attached. I'm not running any kind of other software to see this occurring. I have a Dell G5 5590 laptop running 64-bit Windows Pro with GTX 1660ti, 16GB DDR4, Intel i7-9750H, 250GB SSD, and 1TB HDD. BIOS version 1.12.0, no error messages of any sort. Thanks for the help! (Also first post here, please forgive any mistakes.) 2020-04-06 14-04-36.mkv

So I recently have come across a listing for a ps4 days of play slim console. The listing said that the console shows no signs of life when plugged in. I was on another forum that said it could either be the power supply, or the APU chip. The console is 80 dollars, do you guys think that it's just a PSU problem or something worse? And is the console even worth the 80 dollars?

I got my long lost PS4 Slim back yesterday and i want to get linux on it for school. this would be very helpful. i wonder if there are any official ways of doing this. if there isnt i dont care about it being legal but it would be great if there was some easy way to do this. such as just booting up a Mint usb and installing but i fear its not so simple. Edit: im thinking if i take out the HDD and load Linux on it will that work?

Source: https://blog.us.playstation.com/2019/12/17/introducing-the-dualshock-4-back-button-attachment/ Sony released a blog post today detailing their new Back Button attachment for their Dualshock 4 controllers. Features include: I personally am confused about the OLED screen as it faces away from the user, so they can't even see it, even though it is meant to tell them about button assignments. Images of the product are below:

I'm looking for a way to emulate Dualshock 4 button presses on my PS4 from my computer without using remote play. I intend to run a macro that grabs a picture of the screen from a capture card, and depending on what it sees it will execute a task, such as pressing a keyboard stroke or moving my mouse. (https://www.jitbit.com/macro-recorder/) I plan to use this as the brains of my operation. However, I need to communicate back to my PS4 with button presses depending on what the macro outputs. It would be a lot simpler if I could use remote play, however I will need it to be able to sign into and log out of accounts, disconnect from the internet, etc. without being disconnected from my computer. I have the solution to how my PS4 will communicate with my computer, but I don't know how my computer can communicate back to the PS4 with the proper button presses. This includes the software/ hardware needed to communicate with the console as well as how I can emulate the button presses. All knowledge, generosity and help is appreciated.

Hey folks, i bought a brand new ps4 slim 1tb a few months ago and in the beginning it worked well and the storage also showed that the total space left is 800gb+ . In the past few weeks, i updated my ps4 and i was shocked to see today that the total space is now "409 gb"!!! Yes, the total storage, not the remaining storage. the remaining storage is now 256 gb and i am really pissed about this right now. So please tell me how to solve the issue guys! it will be very much appreciated!

According to The Independent the recent Paris attacks perpetrators used PlayStation 4 consoles to communicate and plan the attacks. The article goes on to say that intelligence services are unable to spy on these communications due to the encryption employed. So my question is this: Will the NSA and GCHQ start looking into ways to circumvent the encryption thus allowing them to spy on all gamers under the guise of national security and what effect will this have on civil liberties and personal information?
